i wrote it two years ago and am still deeply proud of it. there’s a whole playlist attached. i spent three days doing formatting on ao3. there’s destiel muppets in the cold open. what more do you want

So musicalnatural. Obviously you’d have to condense the story a lot to adapt it to the medium, and you’d want to play into the strengths of the medium to get the best impact. This actually works very well, because with theater the things that it emphasizes that no other medium does is 1. audience interaction and 2. the emphasis on performance and (in s4&5 at least) the idea of an outside driving narrative is a main theme.

So my proposal is, naturally, to draw inspiration from hadestown and that one post about different performances about hamlet. The loop maybe doesn’t work as well for spn but the concept of really leaning into the performance of it with an opening song like the hadestown one? Chuck introducing all the main players and maybe outlining s1-3? Immaculate. And then having Sam & dean interact with/respond to the audience (maybe their respective archangels or Zachariah point the crowd out to them) and cas messing with the props and lighting and coming into scene without an audio cue……
