wasn't actually a big deal to me and depended on what were were doing. The only real one I have is Nepeta for Sollux and Equius or maybe like Karkat for Sollux with Eridan or Gamzee.

Now...there IS one ship I just can't place anywhere in this and it's Vriska x Terezi. They could very much be like Signless and Disciple in having something greater than the quadrants because Terezi (to my knowledge) is STILL looking for Vriska instead of continuing with the rest of the group, and that speaks to me.

You know, I usually really dislike commenting on anything about our groomer doing what he did in any sort of light, but this far into our trauma processing regarding it and honestly being much older and having a best friend who - while not directly targeted - was aggressively bullied and attacked by said groomer in an attempt to isolate us, it's kinda always a really fun moment to sometimes in video calls go

".... so we're 23 / almost 23 now right? Soo what was that fuck face doing at our age again? Oh right, being pathetic for XYZ reasons lol"

Cause like literally, like context matters and I don't think any trait really makes someone "inherently pathetic" but the dude literally spent a good like... five plus years of his early adult hood ARGUING with eleven year olds INCLUDING roasting one eleven year old to ANOTHER eleven year old about how "his writing is so bad and hes bad at RPing unlike us" where he LITERALLY self reports that he, an ACTUAL ADULT has the writing skills of a tween.

At my age he was sad fiddling around about how me - at the time 16 - decided I was done with him and """broke up""" with him.

Like, its really carthartic to see where I am and just sit back with my bestie and go "Aight so its our birthday week (we are literally a week apart in age), so lets catch up, what were the loosers in our life doing and look at how fucking pathetic they were in the light of actually having an adult brain"

Like between Lin being largely over it, and honestly at this point even I'm starting to get over it other than habitual defense mechanisms being hard to drop without the general anxiety that PTSD instills around choosing to let defenses go, like....

Dude was such an honest to god pathetic looser dooming his own life to failure that I'm honestly starting to somewhat get over the insatiable need for retribution that used to distress me a lot. Some part in my probably still wants it, but not to the level they used to cause honestly - his own miserable existence will punish him plenty.

As far as I'm concerned he banked years into trying to groom a perfect Christian wife and that clearly didn't go anywhere and I guess in that way, he fucking took an L as well there. Cause real talk, I'm not the one that wasted a chunk of what many consider to be the "prime" years (" " cause I don't really think there is a prime, but ya know, colloquial social concepts and sayings) sitting with children online writing at a like 4th grade level.

How many OCs do you currently have? If you have multiple OCs then how different are they from each other? How often do you create new ones?

Currently? 13 actual developed OCs. (I've still got to toss together profiles for Nebula and Ronove on carrd tho.)

At least 15 supporting characters. Meaning ones I'm not actively RPing cause they're just supporting cast for my OCs and won't do anything other than help plot things along as needed. Or they were created to avoid retcons. So they are available for a scene here or there as needed but not much beyond that. They're mostly for my own writing (or screenshot) purposes unless I need them for a plot point.

I don't plan on adding to my 13 anytime soon though. But we all know I'm terrible at promising not to. XD Ronove was unplanned but then he said I was keeping him. I don't add new ones too often. If they do get added it's usually because they were originally plot characters that I got attached to. Which is the case for Lancefer, Alexois, Asher, and Ronove. XD So it's only happened 4 times. That's not -that- often. An the first three were added years ago now. Ronove and Nebula were literally the last to be added and I wasn't sure I was even going to list Ronove here for the fact he's a voidal.

Destiney is a Shroudling mother and wife. She's warm and caring and very nature oriented. Very much a momma wolf who practically adopts everyone she likes into her Found Family. Stefan, is practically his twin's opposite. They were meant to be that way. He tends to keep people at arm's length and dabbles in things he shouldn't. He's the darkness to her light. But he'd do anything for his sister. Lancefer is the noble white knight who tries to remain good and kind despite all that he faces as the black sheep of his family. Tries to be a good big brother and cousin. Alexois is a villain in name only, an assassin for hire and hails from the lowest rungs of society who has turned his life around and works hard at being a better person. Valen is a pure ray of sunshine and good cheer who tries to lift the spirits of others without being dragged down by those said people. Traveling minstrel and bounty hunter. Marielle is a dragon stuck in elezen form by a curse and navigating a world she barely understands. Alfarinn is a intimidating looking brute with a soft heart beneath that beserker's rage. Looking for payback for the death of his lover. Keaira is a upbeat spunky ball of pink with a desire to explore the world and help people all while seeking challenges to make her stronger. Adelena is nicknamed the Frost Siren for a reason. She is cold and distant pirate of the Sanguine Sirens but is much warmer towards her sisters than others. Asher is a sky pirate with a weak spot for kids in similar situations to his when he was younger. He's a mischief maker and a tinker of machines. Eventually he's going to have a reckoning with his older brother. Aryn is a gremlin in disguise (not literally XD It's just his general behavior towards his circus family). He's a aerial dancer for a circus troupe and a trained Sage. A bit dramatic and obsessed with clothes. Nebula is a soft spoken mage from the deep woods of the Shroud, next in line to lead their clan when their mother steps down, a descendant from those who survived the fall of the three mage cities. Just traveling the world to learn more about the people outside of their clan. Ronove was my first attempt to make a voidal character. Exploring the madness of what it was like to be fresh from the void and under the control of a stronger voidal with an iron grip on him. Abused and tortured for over a thousand years and trying to find his way in a world that is mostly alien to him now. Now he's Stefan's partner in the plot to put an end to the voidsent trying to see them both dead.

♦ What was a mildly annoying thing that has happened to you rp wise?

oh boy LOL i have sadly had quite a few very mild to medium level of annoying stuff happen over my many many years of rping on this site. feel like i gotta cover one of the big annoying experiences!! if we are going with highest amount of annoyance caused....i would have to say it was my experience with an rp partner that was a liiiiittle bit obsessed with me, or perhaps more accurately, obsessed with vali. its a little bit of a wild ride so BUCKLE UP:

at first it started off as a completely normal rp partnership -- in fact, the two of us hit it off quite well and immediately started rping regularly. i enjoyed myself for a while, oblivious to what was gonna unfold. things happened in my life and i slowed down on my activity on this site. i was very open to them about what was going on and explained i just would not be able to be as active or engaged. but they just did. not. let. up. at first it started slow, and i wasnt bothered at all to get regular asks and lots of messages, i love that!i really do! but this...this was another ball game...

but it began to get to a point where the asks got more frequent, and then more insistent, and they and their characters got increasingly more desperate in an attempt to keep my and vali's attention i think??? and they started to get...vaguely passive aggressive about me being slow with responses and i could tell sometmes they were jealous when i replied to/was more invested in other threads.

i liked our characters dynamic and i liked rping with them, but the weirder it got ooc, the less my muse was invested in their characters, the less i was invested in a ship dynamic, because it felt very forced. and i also felt like they were kinda obsessed with the idea of shipping their characters with vali, and yet after a while after agreeing to ship ...only wanting very surface level interactions where vali spent most of his time protecting and defending their character. and like im sorry, but if your character has literally no spine then vali is gonna steam roll right over them and leave them in the dust just because hes such an intense character. he needs someone just as willful as him to play off of effectively. i didnt realize that yet at the time and thought it was the growing pains a new underdeveloped ship, and that it would change. it didnt.

just kept getting A LOT of borderline obsessive behavior towards me and my muse. they also would very transparently take ideas i had and try to apply them to their own characters. and like, i wasnt mad about that, i dont actually own the basic concepts themselves, but the ripping off of headcanon ideas, and posting similar headcanons right after me, got so prevalent that others started to notice and mention it. i really disliked that because i dont like people fighting my battles for me but. sigh another cherry on the annoying pie i guess.....

told them multiple times that they need to slow their roll and be patient. then it got even weirder. i eventually started branching back out and finding new rp partners, as well a rekindling old rp partnerships after being very low activity for so long. and i hit it off quite well with some new rp partners i still interact with to this day, started some ships. and well...that's when it ...well, they acted very strange and jealously, like they were following me around to whoever i was interacting. which usually isnt an issue, i WANT my rp partners to meet eachother and interact. but i very quickly got the feeling based on their behavior, they werent following my rp partners cuz they actually wanted to rp with them, but because they wanted to keep 'tabs' on what i was doing with my rp partner. i know now they were likely very jealous about the sort of romantic chemistry my rp partners and i were creating between our muses.

and then i started getting anons that were very obviously written by them complaining about how they tried to become friends with my rp partners, but got rejected blah blah blah. and that. that kinda was the last straw. i dont play games like that. you can pull ALL that shit on me and i'll give you second, third, fourth chances if i think youre worth it, but the minute you start dragging my friends in and putting strain on my other friendships.....NAH!!!

i told them off again, told them exactly how i felt, how i knew it was them sending the anons to me, and that they needed to stop. and then gave us some space, cuz i knew we needed to cool off and have time away from eachother. one day i woke up to find that they had deleted me off discord, and then tried to re-add me, likely as a ploy to get my attention. took my chance, said im done interacting with you, and ran like the wind!!!!! freedom!!!!!! maybe not the most tactful way i could have dealt with it...but i tolerated their shit for so long and i was just. tired and wanted out of this weird dynamic i had going on with this person before it went from 'annoying' to 'creepy' to straight up toxic.

moral of the story: sometimes people are so annoying they veer way outside the lines of 'annoying' and go straight into 'creepy'. i should have known that this just wasnt a healthy rp relationship when the first red flags showed up but alas….i try to see the good worthwhile side of everyone i interact with.... until they utterly prove me wrong. but their immature way of dealing with things was really driving me up a goddamn wall more than anything. i dont regretting getting the fuck out of dodge lol

-> this is a timeline where junpei's arcana is swapped around. instead of him being the magician, he switches with Akihiko Sanada--he has the Emperor arcana. -> junpei loves baseball, but he takes up swimming as his school sport. and he excels at it.

Alternative Timeline :: 02 of 06 :: tagged as [ verse;; it takes two to make a thing go right ]

-> this is a timeline where the twins, Minako and Minato Arisato, are both the leaders of SEES--it leads to one being the main team lead while the other is backup, just in case something happens. -> in this timeline, everyone lives, except for Minato who offers himself to be the great seal.

-> this is a timeline where Minako Arisato is the leader. same as the main timeline, but Minako dies whereas Shinjiro and Chidori both live. yadda yadda, the same stuff a la p3p.

-> this is a timeline where Junpei actually becomes the leader of SEES, seeing as the leader (be it minato or minako) didn't want to. it blossoms junpei into a confident and more happier being, but it leads to many different outcomes with chidori, shinjiro, and strega.

-> this persona 4 alternative timeline is one where junpei is a second year at yasoinaba instead of yosuke. -> his parents are together and created junes as a place for a family to meet up if anyone was ever lost. it was like a beacon of sorts lol -> WIP.

Alternative Timeline :: 06 of 06 :: tagged as [ verse;; i do things my own way ]

-> this final alternative timeline is one where junpei is a member of the phantom thieves, replacing ryuji. -> junpei was an avid baseball player and brought the school together when he was bringing home trophies with his friends. however, he received an arm injury, thanks to kamoshida, and cannot raise his left arm up all the way. -> he had to have surgery to fix the torn tendon and he had to eventually leave the baseball team--made him lose his friends and his close connections. even with the surgery and rehab, his arm is still not at 100%, not even at 80%. -> junpei's mom and dad are both together, but it's a strained relationship, almost leading into a separation because of his father drinking and his mom working long hours to pay for junpei's hospital bills.

I'm a sucker for enemies-to-lovers, as well as slow burns.

I don't usually mind it as long as my boundaries and rules are respected. A big thing for anons to remember is that muse does not equal mun, so just because my muse might seem annoyed by the anon does not mean that I am. I'm usually laughing my ass off and enjoying every second of it behind the screen.

I recently dabbled on discord with a couple of the muses on my multi. But I prefer RPing on tumblr for a number of reasons. I actually recently restarted my computer, and keep forgetting to log back into discord (as opposed to actually properly shutting it down every time rather than just closing the laptop every time I'm done lol). And since the discord app doesn't show me the little bubble notifications and I've been an exhausted girf I keep forgetting to check it on my phone. But I do have one AMAZING RP partner there, and the other one I attempted was an EXTREMELY BAD experience that has me super hesitant to bother with discord again, especially with newer mutuals.

Additionally, I have had other muses previously that I no longer write as for one reason or another.

so some updates on things that have happened since that failed attempt to return in July:

health problems! I was hospitalized for a bit with "NYD Abdo", which just means "not yet determined abdomen pain", but in doctor speak.

it has still not been determined, but it's faded from excruciating unable to move pain to mostly manageable with tylenol pain.

I have other fun health problems that trying to figure that one out has brought to light.

I have returned to gainful employment! this is despite the health problems. I was at the new job maybe two weeks when I had to be hospitalized and they still wanted me to work there

I'm back in inventory management, which amusingly is what I was working in when I started this blog. I like this job a lot more than that one.

I have spent so much time daydreaming about MCU AUs while picking and issuing parts and while driving to the city I work in, since it's not the same as the one I live in.

I've been RPing as NPCs in FFXIV! it's made me realize how much I miss some of the old ways I used to RP online. Icons and gifs and tag conversations

I've been away from tumblr rp for so long that I don't know what the current trends are, but I'm interested in finding out.

I'm not actually sure. I want to roleplay, but my previous attempts have not really lead anywhere.

YES okay. i will talk about some of my favorite aspects of the medium in a bit but i will start off talking about l’manburg and how it happened

in minecraft it is a.... pretty basic action, to take some land and be like “this is mine now”? what kickstarts the first war, the war for independence, is that wilbur says “not only is this my land, this is an independent nation, we are declaring independence from the server this runs on and we are not ruled by the admin of the server”. now, this is.... kind of an incoherent thing to say, but it’s funny, and at this point they’re still mostly joking around, and it kind of settles into just “this is a group of people who consider themselves/this land an independent nation”, which is--from what i understand it a very normal way to do a factions-based minecraft server? so it definitely... makes sense, lol

but also it makes sense that this transitioned into like. political roleplay. and from there it’s only a hop skip & jump away from, uh.... horrifyingly accurate depictions of abuse? i dunno what to tell you, man. the dsmp is weird.

ANYWAY! things i like about the format and how it makes a story:

- the people on the dream smp are mostly selected for minecraft skill more than acting ability; as a result, they are fuckoff incredibly good at minecraft. dream and techno, two main characters, are also plausibly two of the best minecraft players in the world. when they do impressive things in the story, it is legitimately extremely impressive, and to some degree the characters and story are built around what skills and what level of skill everyone has. you can’t put in a training montage where a character gets good at fighting; the person playing them would actually have to train, and even then they might not get good enough. you can’t just write in the script that a character wins a fight; the person has to actually be able to win an in-game fight, or else you have to figure out something else--maybe they call in allies, or take a hostage, or maybe they lose! there aren’t stunt doubles or word of god; what the characters can do is strictly limited by what the actor can do. this does a bunch of interesting things to the story imo! in a broader sense, who’s good at minecraft very much shapes the characters and their stories to such a degree that i can’t even really give specific examples other than just The Whole Thing, but even in terms of Specific Scripted Events, the world actually existing provides a lot of interesting tension. a good example is pandora’s vault, an in-universe prison with a shitload of security features including sending IRL texts to the guards. there are multiple breakin attempts, and if i was reading a book the tension would be-- fairly different? when you’re reading a book about an Unbreakable Prison, this is kind of an informed attribute? the characters can just.... break in because the author writes them to? but here, it’s a very real and difficult technical challenge! not only that, but it’s almost all streamed live; while there are “bloopers”, especially later on once it’s more heavily scripted, of e.g. a character dying accidentally when they’re not supposed to, overall the kayfabe of it all being genuine is pretty serious and it results in some really cool stuff.

- i mentioned that it’s told via livestreams, right? there are about 30 people on the server, and they’re ~all streamers, which means each character has their own perspective that you can watch the story from. not only that, it’s fairly common for people to only watch the perspective of one or two streamers, which means not only are the characters all working from limited information, it’s fairly common for fans to be limited in the same way as the characters, and “everyone’s the hero of their own story” is true in a way i’ve never seen it be true of other media. is tommy an obnoxious kid who betrayed someone who helped him when no one else would, or is he someone recovering from abuse and reasserting his moral code? depends if you watch his perspective or technoblade’s. as another example, this past sunday, there was a major event where ten different people were all streaming; there were some events with a lot of overlap, but there were also some events with little to no overlap. if you didn’t watch tommy, you didn’t see dream hunt him down and threaten to torture him. if you didn’t watch punz, you didn’t get to learn the major plot twist that he and dream had been working together the whole time. if you didn’t watch technoblade, you didn’t get to find out how the prison break happened. if you didn’t watch sapnap, you don’t know how his conversation with dream went. if you didn’t watch jack manifold, you don’t know niki’s motivations for spawning the withers, or her reservations about breaking dream out. i still don’t know if there was anything important in boomer or hannah’s streams, because i haven’t watched them yet! it creates this really rich world where every character has depth and everyone is working on incomplete information. there are whole arcs you might miss depending on who you watch!

- this is just a little detail but i really like how facecam acting works? when they have conversations with each other, they’re in discord voice calls and can only hear each others’ voices, but their stream can see the video of their face, which means they can reveal their inner thoughts-- wilbur raising his hand and winking at the camera when the voice chat is discussing who the traitor is, tommy crossing his fingers when making a promise to show that he’s lying, in general when people have a face that doesn’t match their words or tone of voice in order to show their true feelings to the audience without revealing it to the other characters. it’s really neat!

- oh also the fourth wall is broken constantly. twitch prime and youtube are competing religions. getting your opponent to say something problematic so that they have to issue an apology is a valid tactic to delay a war. elections are decided using twitter polls. you can streamsnipe or watch VODs to figure out who killed your pet. i love it so much

- there’s a major theme in the dream smp surrounding attachments--to objects, to pets, to other people--and IMO it’s at least somewhat emergent from the fact that they’re in minecraft? Death and torture and so on is something that you can Give narrative weight with roleplay, and especially later on they very much Do, but naturally in minecraft you can Just Respawn when killed, so in terms of what people naturally are going to have strong feelings about, a lot of it is going to be less their own life and more…. The stuff they spent a lot of time working for in-game, whether that be builds or items or whatever. and so a lot of the attachment-centric conflicts--the disc war, the pet wars, even to some degree L’Manberg--are the oldest conflicts, and they’re much more emergent/natural consequences as opposed to being sort of Pretend consequences. a Lot of conflict, before roleplay establishes consequences to death beyond “you might lose your items”, is gonna start with “you took/destroyed this, but actually i genuinely cared about it and worked for it”, because that’s just the nature of the game! and as it becomes more and more serious this becomes a Commentary on attachments and conflict and suffering.

- ACTING/CHARACTERIZATION THROUGH GAME MECHANICS..... my beloved..... this is not actually different than show-not-telling in any other medium really but since it started out not as acting you kind of get used to e.g. “oh they aren’t eating because the person playing forgot to keep an eye on their hunger bar” and then you slowly realize “oh shit they aren’t eating because their character has issues w/ disordered eating”. or whatever. there are lots of examples of this but like. i love itttttt it’s so sexyyyyyy

Of course I do! I'm mostly into single player stuff though, multiplayer kinda stresses me out however I've got a weak spot for both Wizards101 and Pirates101, as well as Splatoon. Pokemon is deffo my bread and butter, I love it so much, especially the mystery dungeon games. Also love fantasy RPGs and like business/town builder management ones. Right now I've actually been low-key rping Blitzen in Fantasy life for 3ds since it's the only RPG I've found where you can be a tailor as a class, very fun he's level 50 now. As for headcanons I could name a bunch of aus but I think I'll list what I think characters favorite types of games are

Magnus- The Sims, he likes making all his friends as Sims and just having fun with it, low-key embarrassed about it. Also likes classic Fantasy games like Zelda and rpgs. Probably also farming games, mainly ones where you can make friends with the villagers/characters, so pretty much mainly Stardew valley and Harvest Moon games.

Alex- Horror games! Alex is a horror queer no question. She loves horror games, horror movies too but we're talking about games RN, so I think she'd have a huuuge collection of them. That's sort of her main bag, but I think she also has a smaller collection of games similar to Magnus' tastes, farming, life Sims, and a few "friendship saves the day" focused rpgs. Magnus is the only one who knows about that though and sometimes when Alex is having a rough mental health day they'll play them together

Sam- Tycoon management/builder games for sure, probably also has a weak spot for any games focused on flying like flight sims. Also low-key think she'd like romance games but that's the type of secret that might get you beheaded if you find out

Blitzen- I don't think he's much of a video game player, very picky about what he plays. Probably crafting/art focused games he can relax and make art for fun without too much effort. Deffo likes Animal crossing but pretty much all he does is making extremely complex pixel designs on it. Also Minecraft, though he only plays on creative to make those fucking insanely huge and realistic cities/buildings that have to take days if not months to make

Hearthstone- You fucking know he's a sucker for Rpgs, no question. I think he'd be one of the most dedicated gamers of the group. Motherfucker canonly went to a renaissance fair and definitely watches LOTR he's a big old nerd. Any fantasy rpg he can get his hands on he's gonna play until he beats the whole thing and gets all the achievements and unlockables. I'd guess he also really likes pokemon too, but that one is more of a comfort/relaxing game for him and he doesn't go quite as hard core with it.

TJ- Dude is canonly a gamer since Magnus hears him playing some kinda shooting game through his door, seems to be really into those shoot em ups and fighting games which makes a lot of sense. Call of duty shoota man, Grand stealing cars, Smash your bros, all those multiple shooting games that people seem to love but I can't fucking stand at all

Halfborn- alright so I know Halfborn is shockingly modern for just how old he is, but I think tech is a bit harder to keep up with so he's definitely into old retro shit. Pac Man, Galaga, Donkey Kong classic, all those pixel arcade games. Maybe eventually he'll get into newer more complex stuff but for now he's pretty happy with those. Though! I bet he does have some of those educational and brain teaser puzzle games for the DS my parents used to try to get me to play in a failed attempt to make me smarter

Mallory- Mallory is another who doesn't really play many video games, but I'd like to think miss hot head has a gulity pleasure of Japanese style romantic visual novels, which she thinks no one knows about but she's not great at hiding it lol

Also in general I think they have a game/movie night every week to just hanging out as a family. They had to stop any competitive games though because TJ and Hearthstone once almost killed each other. They both just get way too into it so now competitive is banned, strictly multiplayer co-op games only lol

Character Motivations on the DreamSMP

I know I’m an ARG Wilbur account, but analyzing the DreamSMP has always been super interesting to me, so I’m gonna take a crack at it. Here are, from my perspective, the motivations and interests of each plot-relevant character. (PS: analyzing the DreamSMP is just like analyzing the ARG, except a lot less frustrating because we actually know things.)

Tommy: His motivations have always, always, been his friends, most notably Wilbur. Throughout everything, he never left Wilbur’s side despite everything Wil did. He followed L’Manberg because it was Wilbur’s dream, not his. He allows himself to be thrown around a little bit (”When I said you’re never gonna be president..,” The pit) to keep his friendships/his friends safe. Now, his motivation isn’t keeping L’Manberg safe, it’s staying with Tubbo Another interesting view of Tommy’s motivations is his hero complex- He just wants to be seen as the hero, and does everything in his power to do that. Either way, I feel like his motivations are going to be severely tested in the coming days.

Tubbo: I think Tubbo’s motivations are really interesting because there’s two. It used to be Tommy- which makes sense because they’re best friends- but it’s slowly warped to be L’Manberg. I think this mostly changed when Wilbur and Tommy were exiled and Tubbo was left in the Schlatt administration, and he realized that he needs to fight for L’Manberg in order to keep Tommy safe. This then shifted further to just protection of L’Manberg, to the point that now he’s willing to exile Tommy from the country to keep it safe from Dream.

Wilbur: One thing: Power. Everything he’s done has been to get, or keep, power. The Revolution was to have power over Dream in the form of their own country. He tried to rig the election in his favor by preventing everyone else from running to keep power, and when he was exiled he fought for L’Manberg so he could be President again. Even in the end, he blew up L’Manberg because he realized it would never be his again. This is where the “When I said you’re never gonna be President, I meant it.” quote comes back- Wilbur would do everything in his power to keep power over L’Manberg and its citizens- no matter who, or what, he hurts.

Techno: These are some of the most simply motivations on the SMP. Techno wants anarchy. He hates governments and wants to end them all. He joined Wilbur and Tommy because he wanted to take down the government, and ultimately betrayed Tommy in an attempt to end L’Manberg’s government. His motivations might be shifting towards Philza, but I’m not sure.

Philza: I think it’s a bit too early to tell these but I have two ideas. First, safety. Phil wants safety for him, his kids, and his friends. He goes out of his way to rescue people (See: him travelling hundreds of blocks to rescue Ranboo from lava) and performs rash actions to protect people/keep his kids happy (killing Wilbur..?). Another potential motivation is just his kids. He killed Wilbur to keep Wil happy, and wants to bring Wilbur back to life. His whole thing with Ghostbur and with Techno fits into this. His friendship with Fundy kind of does, too. Again, it’s way too early and there’s too little RP with Phil involved to truly tell his motivations.

Dream: Every single war has been caused by Dream. He wants chaos and control. He was the one behind the revolution, the disc wars, and every betrayal of L’Manberg, He even caused the election drama by allowing Schlatt back on the server, and provoked fighting by giving Tommy and Techno gear. Dream wants to be the one who causes chaos, in order to give himself full control over everyone. This recent arc is gonna build on- and potentially destroy- this motivation, as Dream is probably going to lose all of the support of his friends, and Tommy has realized that Dream doesn’t care and just wants to fuck with him.

Sapnap: I would definitely say that at the moment Sapnap is an anarchist with no true side. He has dual citizenship in L’Manberg and the SMP, and, though he might be willing to do things for both of them, he just wants to cause problems and kill peoples pets. Sapnap is literally the cause for the first war when he burned down Ponk’s lemon tree- he literally just wants to cause problems.

George: There are few motivations for George. He just wants peace, honestly, but won’t do anything to stop wars, so he just leaves. At first, he was a loyal, right-hand man to Dream, but became disillusioned with that when he became Quackity’s running-mate, and just stopped caring about anything. He just wants to live peacefully in his cottagecore mushroom house, but he keeps being dragged into things. I think that George just doesn’t really enjoy RPing but they keep writing him in, lol, but I am going to say that his motivations are that he wants to live a quiet life.

Schlatt: He just wanted what he believed is best for Manberg. IMO, he was never really the villain, and was rightfully elected, but no one realized that until Wilbur did. He realized that Wilbur and Tommy were pretty much war criminals who tried to rig the election, so he exiled them because that was what was best for the people, and then gave Tubbo a job so that he didn’t have to worry about leaving. Even the taxes were to improve Manberg. His policies and laws were not always the best, but he was doing everything he could (in his mind) to improve Manberg.

Quackity: Wilbur said that Quackity just wants a kinder, more peaceful world, and that’s definitely true. I tried not to base too much of this on Wilbur’s perceptions but this one is 100% accurate. Quackity ran for President to create a kinder world, and ended up leaving Schlatt to join Tommy and Niki after Vilbur happened. I think Mexican L’Manberg might end up changing this one, but I’m not sure.

Fundy: He just wants a dad. Everything he’s done has been for this, pretty much. Obviously, he followed Wilbur into the Revolution when he was a kid, and then wanted to be like him so he ran for President. After Wilbur’s exile, Fundy saw Schlatt as a kind-of father figure, but still spied for Manberg. The explosion was a wake-up call that made Fundy realize how shitty his dad was, and how much Wil doesn’t care about him. Fundy is unwilling to form a relationship with Ghostbur, instead attempting to be adopted by Eret and getting closer to his Grandfather. He’s realized that Ghostbur does not really remember Fundy for who he was, just that he was Wilbur’s son and Ghostbur should care about him because of that, so Fundy seeks out other people to be his father figures.

Eret: They had a huge swap in their motivation like.. halfway through the story. For the first half, Eret wanted power- so she betrayed L’Manberg. Dream promised him kingship in exchange for the betrayal, and that was all Eret really wanted- until Dream took it away from him. At this point, Eret realized that she really misses her friends, which is when she joined them in Pogtopia. TBH- I don’t really like these motivations and I think Eret’s character would be stronger if they stuck to one side, and at some points I think it was just to be involved in the RP again, but it kind of makes sense I guess.

Niki: First, she cared about Wilbur, joining him in L’Manberg and wanting to stay in Pogtopia with them. However, when Vilbur started, she realized that what she really cares about is L’Manberg, not Wilbur. The big shift could’ve also been when she saw the flag being burned. Either way, she realized that L’Manberg means more to her than Wilbur. 

BadBoyHalo: Bad’s motivations are my favorite. He wants chaos, just like Dream, but he’s planning to do it from the inside. He wants the Badlands to ally with everyone, only to spark infighting and create wars. This is why Sam is always the one to help people- he wants to gain everyones trust so the Badlands can incite chaos. This is an incredible arc and I really hope they go through with it because- unlike Dream- its not expected that they’ll be villains. Also, the speech where Bad explained this was so scary, he’s a great actor and I want to see him and the rest of the Badlands in RPs more.

Fandoms: the big and most obvious one: Check Please! it’s really the only fandom that I’ve written fics for. it is also the fandom that I reads the most fics for as well. it’s my little bit of comfort. I have done a lot of writing in what could be considered the HP fandom, but I never wrote fic for it. just over a decade worth of RPing with a close group of writing friends. we’ve completely made our own (and may I biasedly say better) world within that world. I’ve never really read HP fic, and never written it. I focus on OCs who technically live in some version of the world, so I don’t really consider myself part of that fandom anymore.

other fandoms I love to read but am too chicken shit to write in: Hannibal; One Last Stop; Schitt’s Creek; Red, White, and Royal Blue; The Old Guard.

I’m still kinda’ anxious about writing in the Check Please! world, but I’ve done it, and I’ve always had fun when I get the courage to do it, and the will to finish things.

Two-shot: I…I have probably read a few two shots, but none are springing to mind. I’d call myself a fan. I like even numbers. I’ve never written one myself. but I’d be willing to read some if anyone wants to suggest ‘em from: Check Please or One Last Stop or any of the fandoms listed above.

Most popular multi-chapter: Samwell Elementary School (it's my only!)— I am proud of myself for finishing it! I know I had a lot of fun writing it, but I haven’t revisited it. I want to change the title as I don’t think it quite fits. but I have no regrets writing it, and I’m still proud of it even if I think it’s probably fairly weak in terms of the writing.

Actual worst part of writing: anything where I need to do a lot of description. OR where my characters are supposed to be suave and flirts. like, I dunno how to flirt. and also when my characters are supposed to be smart? like, I’m not smart and that’s okay. but I have this sick fascination with smart characters and then I’m screwed when I need to make actually use their smarts, yanno? dialogue too can trip me up, but I think that’s because I’m so used to RP writing where I can bounce off of someone else’s dialog. when I’m writing it all myself I worry everyone sounds the same. just gotta’ practice more.

How you choose your titles: song lyrics, random words from the story, objects that are in front of me, filler titles that I mean to change and then never do, ridiculous one sentence summary of what’s happening, quotes, anything that amuses me. I’m a wild card when it comes to titles, I guess. it changes with the mood.

Do you outline: not really. for longer ones I try to at least do a bullet list outline, but often I deviate from that. I like to just let my writing go where it wants to go, even if it wants to go in the EXACT FUCKING OPPOSITE DIRECTION I WANT IT TO GO. I’m one of those writers… especially with my original characters who has like very little control over WHAT their characters do. I dunno. I tell them to do something and they laugh at my audacity.

but there’s this big one with Zimbits where they live in a world I’ve created, and I’ve started this fic so many times and just. stopped. but there’s magic and Jack and Bitty and the rest of the gang. and I do want to actually write it one day. I have images of it in my head, I can almost smell it and taste it and feel the magic but when I sit down to write it I just fucking freeze.

there’s also this AU where Bitty is a dog trainer and Jack gets a doggo, and I just want them to bond over their pets. and Jack’s competency kink at Bitty being really fucking good at his job even when he’s pointing out where Jack could use some work. I used to work at a pet store, and I just got inspired by the doggos and trainers there lol.

Callouts @ me: stop being afraid of my ideas and insistent that I can’t do them justice. because I’ve been doing some kind of writing my entire life, and I’m not complete garbage. trust that people like what I write if they told me that they do. fake it ‘til you make it with the confidence or something.

Best writing traits: fuuuuuuuck. so, I dunno. But I’m good about writing nearly every day. most of that is in RP with my friends or my attempts at novels. I wanna get better at consisent fic writing—but I’ll say, I’m good at at least making words come out even if I’m not always good at finishing longer things. At least I make time for myself and my writing. with two young kids and a parnter, I think that’s cool. highfive to myself.

Spicy tangential opinion: writing is hard, but I think a lot of times, we get so stuck in our own heads that we make it harder than it needs to be. even if what you write is pure garbage, you are getting something out. and that something can be edited and turned into something amazing. give yourself time and the grace to fuck it all up. no one is perfect, but your fics and your ideas, are still fucking amazing and probably better than you realize. its hard, but doable. eventually.
