Was there a day in Riots life when she learned to answer 'go а yourself' instead of 'sorry, maybe not this time, im not sure, blah-blah-blah'? Or was she born this way: beautiful and always protecting her personal borders?

LMAO She was a people pleaser when she was younger. Her need to be loved/appreciated/seen was so great that she got along with almost anything. Classmates wanted her help with homework? Sure. Wanted her notes? Sure thing. Everything and anything to be accepted (she was bullied for being half foreign and physically different).

Her grandparents had to have a lot of talks with her about having to accept that not everyone was good, not everyone would get along with her, and that she was being taking advantage of.

She's not sure what made her change though. No big moment, no eye opening talk. One day, when one of the people that usually abused her naivety/need for validation asked for something, she just said no. And kept saying no.

Of course that made her even more isolated, but at that point... she had accepted it. She'd never be one of them. She was the not-orphan-but-almost weirdo that lived in a farm with her grandparents because her parents didn't want her, that spent summers abroad, that had interests way different than her peers, that looked different, acted different, and that didn't give a shit anymore.

Of course now all grown up, deep inside, the little girl still wants someone, anyone, to see her and want her for what she is, but the grown girl finds it difficult to understand and believe that there are people that appreciate her and love her how she is, flaws and all.
