already gave my thoughts on it on stream but here we go. uhh, yeah touhou 19 sure is a phantasmagoria game.

it was a bit disappointing that there wasn’t anything new besides what was shown in the announcement. which.. sounds kinda weird now that im writing it but idk, they could’ve not shown the available roster to keep it a surprise for the demo at least. but also maybe im too used to the experience of getting 3 new characters right off the bat.

i like the new changes to the gameplay, particulary that you can now hold down Z (!!!) instead of getting carpal tunnel. and bombs are back. there’s also something going on with the way the battles play out, like you gotta wait for the AI to do some special spell card attack to beat ‘em? if there’s some way to trigger it that i didn’t get because, japanese, then sure, very welcome change to make the fights more snappy. if that spell card happens whenever the AI feels like it then, it’s still pretty much waiting for the AI to fuck up which is, the main reason i dont like phantasmagoria games. there’s just no clear indication of when you’re doing things right, or rather no way to do things right.

graphically the game looks amazing, following in the same style of UM. everything just pops out and is so full of color. ZUN has gotten increasingly better at art, im a really big fan of this new style. also goddamn the new boss sprites look so good i love them, kinda reminds me of the sprites from Gouyoku Ibun (i did hear it was a Twilight Frontier artist who did them so, checks out)

i didn’t really expect a lot of music, but what is there is nice. reimu and marisa got new themes which... honestly it’s gonna be pretty hard to replace the ones we already know but, good attempt. i don’t know why they act as regular stage themes too? like they can replace the ones from other characters, i don’t know what’s up with that. also aunn has an arrangement of her theme, while seiran and nazrin have arrangements of the stage theme where they appear, which i found a bit weird. they’re all pretty good tho, nazrin’s i found to be a bit weak? i think i honestly prefer the UFO version of that one but, it’s fine.

anyways, pretty good demo. some bugs here and there which is, to be expected. and p1 is set to gamepad by default which makes sense but uh, no. i can’t talk about the plot because no tl but i kinda doubt there’s gonna be much of that with this few characters. again i wish there could’ve been at least one new face to talk about but, guess we’ll have to wait until the full release for that.

overall a stinker with a few cool elements. worth pirating only if youre not watching it sober but like. don't give them any money for this LOL

the most glaring and immediate issue with it imo is the performances. the cgi characters suffer from a lack of microexpressions which may have been present during the on set performance, then filtered out during mocap and were not fully reconstructed during anim polish. like if they're not intentionally making an expression theyre just slighty grimacing by default. and the live action actors are even WORSE. every human character gives the impression that for every line they're looking off camera for a cue to say their line, theres no engagement with the scenes whatsoever. tbh to me it seems like for a mocapped character, they were directed with the knowledge that performances could be rounded out in post, but the same directorial techniques were applied to non-mocap characters whose performaces werent revised and well. you get what you get! na'avi were stiff and humans were flat.

there's also some issues with the effects which im willing to chalk up to delgo syndrome (massive project takes so long to complete that the technology progesses past it, leaving the final product appearing dated on release). im not the most fluent in vfx technicalities, but (according to my bestie who is) a number of assets weren't properly blended with the enviornment. like the characters and fire had different lighting from the background.

but the BIGGEST issue with it was structure (shocker). im more willing to attribute this to poor writing as opposed to poor editing, since with a movie like this writing and structural editing are done together in the previs/prepro stage. the first thing i noticed that were issues was starting the movie out with back-to-back timeskips. first we go through a ten year family raising montage, then we skip time a full year forward for the antagonist to develop. i think if there was a way to intermesh the time skips it wouldnt have felt as stilted, which i understand is difficult but well. they had a whole ten years to figure it out. the next thing was the TIME. i know im not the first one to say this, but this could have been a full hour shorter than it was. ive seen movies with a similar runtime that feel half the length of this one, because they don't suffer the same overall structural weakness as this one. and that's the fundamental issue with this movie! the story itself was just not strong enough to support the grandiosity of the concept and the world. the beats are repetitive because they don't intensify within each leg of the story (the same rising actions happen again and again because the main characters are functionally just waiting for the antagonist to arrive, and the climax drags because the only tension is between death-by-weapon and death-by-drowning.... for like a solid 40 minutes). there were moments where i could tell the film language in terms of music, shot composition, etc was telling me i was supposed to care but. i just couldn't. because there was nothing there.

for some positives-- there were a few good scenes, especially the ones involving the whale species. the initial whale hunt did make me a little sick tbh and the final moby dick style boat battle was very cool. theres also some nice visual elements-- when the effects are well-executed by today's standards they're gorgeous and there's some cool creature and tech design (i love those crab bots). also zoe saldana's performace stuck out as the only engaging, believable, remotely evocative one so. props to her and her alone. i also thought the idea of shrinking the scope to be more personal was a good idea, because im sure they'll ramp back up to saving the world again. but in due time.

tldr; it's an ouroboros of mediocrity where if any one of its problem elements were strong, its glaring issues would be forgivable. not quite aquaman levels of shitassery but close. 2/5

 raymond headcanons.. they aren't entirely fleshed out and they're like "what if it was like this? that makes sense". so sorry if things dont quite make sense or isn't that thought out.. also there may be errors here and there but this isn't supposed to be a polished document its just a rough collection of headcanons i haven't done much with other than like... thinking of them lol

some of this stuff i've posted before but i'm going to reshare again

polokus in origins is described as "an artist and unabashed hedonist" and i see him as just that. immature. he loves all his creations, of course, but he's not exactly responsible. he sees the nymphs more as friends than his daughters. he's more concerned with people liking him than doing the right thing. when he has his first bad dream, he cowers and doesn't want to do anything about it, or he's too scared? this leads to betilla having to do everything herself, she gets help from the other nymphs and creates rayman

the masks of polokus represent his different formes, or perhaps different eras. polokus is a shapeshifter and can be whatever he wants to of course, but he has a "default" he likes to stick with. when he finally changes his "default", a mask is made of the previous forme. for example, polokus from rayman 2 and polokus from the ubiart games are him in different "eras" if that makes sense. their cultural and historic significance could be expanded upon definitely i think but i havent thought too much more into that lmao. the wiki on rpc says that the four kings look like the masks but that sounds more speculative and feels like a stretch. i don’t buy that at all, i don’t see the resemblance

polokus loves all forms of art, and as a result, a lot of the glade's "religion" boils down to being creative and creating, and a lot of magic in general require some form of art, such as dancing for certain spells (the way teensies open portals in r2 or w/e). the people of the glade create art, sing, dance, to keep polokus inspired, amused, and happy so he doesn't have any more bad dreams. i thought about the nymphs all having a corresponding art form, with, obviously, holly being music and edith being culinary, but im not sure what annetta or helena would be. helena maybe textiles... annetta im not sure what i would do with her since she's the most... withdrawn nymph

polokus’ feelings on rayman’s existence are complicated since he is the only creature not created by him. he doesn’t know what he’s capable of, but he’s done a lot already in terms of stopping nightmares and foreign threats such as the pirates. he’s impressed, intrigued... a bit intimidated maybe..... he respects rayman and does love him (polokus has to love every creature after all)

im not sure if the muse of the poets is considered to be actual canon since it appears she was only mentioned in a license guide and not in any other official media. but she's a popular character and i like her too so she gets mentioned. she and polokus fall in love and she has their children, the teensies. she is disgusted by them and runs away, leaving them and polokus forever. she is disgusted by herself, too. if her children are ugly, she must be ugly as well. she becomes obsessed with making herself beautiful, and having beautiful children. she eventually becomes begoniax, which you know how that turns out...

betilla: polokus' pride and joy, she loves him as a father, but is disappointed with his lack of responsibility. when she was younger she was very mischevious and much like him. she learned magic just to be able to pull pranks perform elaborate pull magic tricks. eventually when the first bad dream happened, it was a wake up call. she tried to get him to do something about jano but he wouldn't respond to her. she took matters into her own hands since she was the most magically capable of anyone she knew. with the help of the other nymphs, they created rayman. she's been the "responsible" one ever since. if you catch her in a good mood she might be a bit playful but her days of frivolity are long gone. likes to knit and crochet when she has the time (which is rarely), and spend time with her sisters.

other nymphs: i dont have quite as many headcanons about them, but they are rayman's aunts obviously. edith is rayman's favourite aunt since she's a good cook, followed by holly, who has taught him everything he knows about music. helena is very enthusiastic and a bit overbearing. annetta is the aunt that never shows up to anything

the nymphs all have an element tied to them. betilla and fee de la mort obviously being life and death. holly is air, edith is fire, anetta is water, and helena is earth. seems pretty obvious this part but i've rarely seen ppl attribute helena with earth despite the fact she lives on a mountain...? (stone men, stone dogs, golly g....)

ly is interested in the magical workings of the world and is especially fascinated with lums and their power. betilla sees her potential as a magic user and has accepted her as her pupil. another reason betilla has taken a liking to ly is that she reminds her of her own youth, since ly is fairly playful as well, using magic for tricks. ly is initially just interested in rayman because of the fact he's a being entirely made out of lums, but it eventually turns into a genuine, and close, friendship.

a lot of fairies and some teensies can make "weak" silver lums to give to rayman, but they might not do much, or the effects are temporary. only ly and the nymphs are able to give rayman powers with "stronger" silver lums.

polokus does not dream of every individual in the glade. he dreamt of the first peoples of each species, then they procreate by themselves. most places in the glade are natural, similar to earth, but polokus' dreams may affect them (the icy parts of gourmand land is an obvious example. giant fruit? that's silly)

teensies: naturally hairless and there is little dimorphism between the sexes. their fashion is inspired by the fairies', and have adopted to wear wigs, false eyelashes, fake facial hair, etc. all teensies have the ability to perform magic but they have to actively for it to be useful. teensies with an interest in magic will attend a magic school. the best of the best of teensie magic users can become a minimus, and, of course, the best out of THEM become the grand minimus. there are many teensie races, and each may vary in size, colour (turquoise like in the ubiarts, more grey like in 2 and 3. usually just varying shades of blue), markings, nose length and shape. some races may be more adept at certain magic styles than others.

mr dark: i have some ideas but nothing concrete. might not even go with this story as my definitive headcanon. fairy. he was always critical of polokus, and after the first bad dream, that made him hate the god even more. he was the one who wanted to stop jano, and maybe become someone powerful enough to be seen as the glade's new "god" or whatever. betilla has proven herself to be the better magic user after the creation of rayman. polokus' main thing was that he was the creator, he was able to create life, and now betilla's able to create life. she may as well be polokus! she's a threat! when he steals the protoon/heart of the world and eventually kidnaps betilla, he uses her power to create dark rayman/raymesis. raymesis is *not* was not created by dark by himself, and he would not have been able to pull off this feat without betilla's knowledge of creating "thingamajigs". rayman and raymesis are the only two thingamajigs known in existence, both created by betilla. not saying it's impossible that others could exist, but they would have to be dreamt into existence by polokus.

dark's obsession with being the most powerful person in the world and becoming a god is why he stole the heart of the world, of course. ales mansay would take inspiration from this event. his views are similar to dark's, that's why he worships him. polokus is a terrible god, he lets people suffer. rayman is a terrible hero, all he does is sleep. ales knows he wouldn't be able to reach the heart of the world and instead tries to build his “own” using lums (maybe not exactly but something comparable... the heart of the world is made up of lums after all). i know that's like, duh, canon information, but it was never stated *WHY* he looks up to mr dark. so now you know why. its bc they both hate polokus

My Cyberpunk 2077 Hot Takes (Spoilers for first 5ish hours of gameplay)

It was “in development” for 8 years, delayed multiple times in the final release year, and is still so poorly optimized, buggy, janky, and so obviously not fully tested on release that it is so unplayable on consoles that both Sony and Microsoft are offering refunds on digital copies regardless of hours played. And on PC you could have built and updated a desktop just to play only Cyperpunk on as high a setting as possible and you still would have to turn of features to get everything to load in properly. The game needs a full year delay working a standard 40 hour week to be even playable, and that's accounting for the features available as of Dec. 11th 2020 aka launch features. They forced the devs to work 100 hour work weeks just to launch a game that's technically playable in the loosest sense of the phrase.

TLDR: The game in-general needs to be redesigned like the RPG it was initially marketed as instead of a different flavor of near-future Ubi-sandbox. It also should totally embrace the full depth of customization cyberpunk as a genre and transhumanism as an ideology allows and envisions. And bugfixed and optimized, like seriously. There’s also almost no reason for anything to be as remotely bad as it is, if I’m remembering correctly the only “pressure” they had was from “fans” and that’s because they thought Gamers(tm) would be sensible and not send fucking death threats because they thought they had a release date.

This might be a GOG only gripe (or cpu) but that makes it even worse if it is: patching takes literal hours to complete no matter how small the patch is. The only game that might take longer to patch is Baldur’s Gate 3 which is a whole separate fuck-fest but atleast that is early access.

It has less gameplay options than vanilla Skyrim, just in general and in specifics.

Melee combat is clunky as hell and not satisfying.

I think driving is bad, and vehicle combat is god awful with almost no onscreen indicators if your hitting enemies or even correctly aimed at them.

The lifepath opener sucks. It literally ends with a montage of scenes and interactions that should have been playable and greatly added to the dynamic of Jackie and V. It also would have helped established literally every part of gameplay without requiring a literal in-game diegetic tutorial to break the flow of a scene leading into the 2018 gameplay teaser. It also so far only affects dialogue options, no ability increases, no skill increases or passive experience buffs. It doesn’t even effect how V speaks, just what they know prior to meeting Jackie.

Character creation is meh at best. Unless you choose the more techy looking eyes that change everything about the eye, the iris color barely appears to change. Pronouns being tied to voice is a very weird choice, especially when the choices are literally just male or female. Available hair styles are alot right off the bat, especially since you have to remember which numbers you like with no option to preview or change later in anyway aside from apparently forced hair styles hard designed with various head gear, especially apparent on femme V where they grow and fully style their hair on contact with ball caps etc. Tattoo options are generic “nothing or your skin is over 30% tattoos” no pure back or pure limb tattoos. Facial cybernetics are serviceable but there should have also been an option for purely cosmetic body cybernetics. Facial hair is both meh and almost too indepth at the same time. Visually bland but also having too much to customize and compare with each beard selection having seemingly 3 barely different versions and mustaches having essentially every type aside from pencil (i think, i didnt care too much to look at all of them).

In-combat weapon selection is clunky. The lower right icons for unarmed is the exact same as if you were wielding a gun. The only way to know for sure you have only fists is to use the weapon selection wheel and try to get the cursor to show you hovering unarmed even if you have weapons in 2 out of 3 slots. And im fairly certain having no weapon in the first slot breaks hotkey selecting weapons. There have been several times where I pressed 1 to only use fists and it kept my katana or gun out despite them clearly being in the 2 and 3 slots respectively.

Hacking is weird as you need direct line of sight and the game to register you’re actually looking at what you want to hack, meaning you can’t really stealth hack in enclosed areas without almost guaranteeing you’ll be spotted.

Randomized loot doesn’t really make sense, especially when the randomized tier determines if you can install components like scopes, silencers, etc.

Thats all I can remember off of the top of my head as of initial writing.

Now for some praise, but still with some complaints and ideas for improvements.

Gender and sex being separate is a great idea but could have been implemented alot better. Pronouns should have been an actual choice between he/him, she/her, and they/them. In my opinion, voice options should have also been expanded to include masc/fem or masc/fem/”yeah thats a generic ‘X’ voice” for both male-voiced and female-voiced V. Genital selection being both “which do you have?” and “do you go commando?” is just questionable. It should have been genital type as one selection and default underwear as another (maybe some people want schlonged V to wear panties and vagina’d  V to wear men’s boxers or tighty-whities). I personally find the nipple and pubic hair customization almost too much for almost no reason especially since there is no practical way to even be naked to be funny without being one-shot because you have literally zero armor aside from maybe shoes, hats, and face covers.

Tattoos should be broken down into subcategories like limbs (divided into the different parts of each limb/full limb), torso (chest, stomach/full), back (shoulders, mid, lower/full), hands/feet (maybe including fingers/toes) with an extra option to mirror limbs and hands to streamline creation time if the player wants.

Hair should also be broken down between pre-styled, and customizable pieces like top, sides, and back. Hair style should also have custom gradients or full palette selection.

The nail paints were a nice surprise, but again would have been better with color customization (I managed to settle on the one that looked kinda like the demisexual flag, which was nice surprise).

Lifepath selection should have some effect outside of just the occasional dialogue option (so far only on the main story path). At the very least it should offer bonuses to atleast one associated ability (like Nomad offering a +1 to tech and associated skills gaining bonus experience). At the far end it should affect what words or slight accent uses during dialogue and maybe have some NPCs know which lifepath you chose based on that.

Melee combat needs to feel more impactful. From what Ive used so far (katana and fists) the katana barely has any reaction from enemies unless you trigger the passive bleeding skill and fists barely register outside of heavy attacks and guard breaking. Dare I say, Dead fucking Island has more impactful melee combat (probably because it wasn’t seemingly designed as an after-thought outside of skills).

Make it so that once you’ve marked a target you can hack it through walls so you can actually be somewhat stealthy or atleast give you an advantage before combat.

Make the overworld hub-based (like in the 2010s Deus Ex games) but still the same size so that its (theoretically) easier to load while also getting the same amount of detail or even more. 

Add seemingly basic things in open world action-adventure games like toggle walking, keybinding, and maybe more than less than a handful of quick-select slots.

Make sure the game actually runs as it ideally should on the platforms you sell it on. Like that really should be step fucking two after can you launch it without causing a fire.

Enemies (and predetermined killable NPCs) should have set gear that is dropped and gear should have set designs for if they can be customized or just sold for money. Iconic gear should probably be better than just “ ’X’ weapon but named”.

Don’t have massive icons - ie, have rp icons that take up an entire text post like 500x500 or something. I don’t want to clog the dash and it’s tiring to resize them.

…also, if I follow your hub blog (provided it doesn’t double as a personal), it generally means I’m cool with any blogs that are attached to it.

12. On threads…

If you’re not interested in a thread anymore, and would like to drop it, please let me know! I’d feel terrible if we’re both not having fun with it or if partners feel overwhelmed with the amount of threads we have.

Honestly, unless I let you know, our threads have no expiry date - so no need to worry about me dropping them without telling you. I can just be quite slow sometimes.

Hi, this is a bit lengthy - but first, thank you for checking out this post! It means a lot to me and I hope we can interact! <3

1. Themes might vary with this blog. I’m usually SFW with this stuff, but there might be dark themes, swearing, and other things of that nature.

Things will be tagged! I’ll try my best, anyways. If you want something in particular tagged, please let me know. The format I use for tagging is, for example, tw: swearing.

I don’t have any triggers but I do ask you tag all of your NSFW content.

That said, I won’t do anything NSFW - gore is okay, though.

2. I’m a little selective, so I might be a pretty picky when it comes to who I interact with. I’ll interact with anyone, including canon, AU, Crossover, and original characters - as long as they’re literate/write para.

If it’s a crossover, I have to know the fandom and be at least a little bit confident with it. This is so I’m able to work with you, our thread and have muse for it.

No godmodding or Mary-Sues, please.

Please note that given the role Axolotl has in Gravity Falls, he may unexpectedly know certain things. I tread carefully around this knowledge, but please be aware of this. If you want me to tone it back to better fit our threads, please let me know!

3. Please don’t rush me for starters or responses.

I have a lot of blogs. Pretty much an understatement - so I’m pretty busy with stuff, and it’s all dependent on what muse I have. Motivation and life also exist.

Please note the mun deals with anxiety and depression - this might affect how frequently she roleplays.

Chances are, I’ve probably has seen that bit of interactivity and just haven’t gotten around to responding yet.

Additionally, if I don’t end up responding to an ask or something, the case might just be I don’t have the muse for it, or I’m not interested in the thread. Apologies!

4. Shippings? Not really looking for ships with this guy, tbh, so don’t expect anything. Platonic friendship and familial bonds tho?? I die for.

Please don’t force anything on my character if I’m not interested.

6. About reblogs…

I write my replies as detailed as I can muster.

Short responses (such as one-liners) in more serious threads where I’ve written a decent deal can instantly kill my muse for that thread.

Whilst I’d prefer for partners to at least somewhat match my length, it’s entirely up to you - just try your best and make sure you give me enough to work with. ♡

If my muse happens to go nuts out of nowhere - like, overboard - don’t stress too much about matching them.

If para roleplays are not your forte at all, it’s not recommended you roleplay with me seriously. Anything else outside that is fine, though - we can still have fun outside of proper threads.

8. Threads typically happen naturally with me, but if you’re looking for interaction opportunities:

TY…  lets do this fellas (also this is genuinely rlly long i spent ages on just the first question alone so like. i apologize to anyone who actually reads this)

23. Introduce OC that has changed from your first idea concerning what the character would be like?

this one actually could have a lot of answers! my biggest project overall is based on some OCs i made when i was like 10 or 11, and at least the ones i had from the getgo have changed. a lot. mostly in design but a few have changed in other senses, too.

i’ll just highlight on the main 3 that ended up getting majooor design updates though.

as u can tell they were..   all furries.   it was all i knew how to draw back when i first designed skyfall and naimo.

also in terms of plot changes, past me was very het so skyfall and naimo were going to be love interests but a few months ago i reworked it and their relationship is going to be a lot more sibling-like now. additionally bonnel was gonna be married to a different character of mine named dominic, and they were going to be naimo’s biological parents but i scrapped that idea ages ago as well because bonnel is a lesbian and she has a girlfriend now.

29. Which one of your OCs would go investigate an abandoned house at night without telling anyone they’re going?

tbh??  i think this one would also be Skyfall. he’s pretty independent and his dad trusts him to leave the house whenever under most circumstances. also, the plot for the story involving all of these literally does start out with Skyfall trying to make his way to somewhere he thought was abandoned over a gut feeling about it. Granted, the house was in fact not abandoned! just very very secluded and out in the middle of nowhere for security reasons. The only catch would be that he respects his dad very much and will usually tell him before heading off anywhere anyways, especially if its for more than a day or two.

ok so off the bat i can think of like 4 things i end up repeating a lot:bangs, boots, tank tops, and basing characters off the color pink. here comes the elaboration !

i always feel like i have a problem when it comes to how i draw bangs. If u look at the character designs ive made more recently ive been trying to get better about it but in general, i seemed and seem to always start almost any hair style out like This.

if not, then its usually just

and then we arrive to my dealio about boots.

i usually have slightly different styles for em but god. Plot driven (like SKNS, which the previous 3 introduced characters are all from) or not, every time im designing a character for the first time and i get to the lower half im like: “okay what do we do for the shoes?” / “make them boots.” / “wh…  why?” / “You Gotta.”

notable examples of this include; Skyfall (and Shard), Jason (skyfall’s dad), a rlly new one i made just yesterday who ive decided will be named Vance, Bonnel, N/A (which, yes, is their Actual Name), and Ezerla (a tlodw fan character ^^”)

its the exact same thing w/tank tops too fbdhgfhdjf i have. so many characters who’s shirts are just tank tops. even if they have a jacket on top or smth, its always a tank top underneath theyre just fun to draw.

Examples of That include Skyfall, Jason, Vance, Naimo, Katherynn, and X-Aviar (but his design is…   Bad we don’t talk abt him even tho i do like to own up to him sometimes anyways)

also…    i Literally have like 3 characters i could name off the bat that were based around the color pink. idk why i default to it so much but i sure do, and Here They Are.

the one furthest left is katherynn, and the other 2 are unnamed still bc they’re not really plot driven and im bad w/names.. hbsghbjds. Ive actually had that one on the furthest right since august of 2017 though haha.

“I told you we would have to send your application in today! Are you really going to miss out on getting into an international Art exhibit, because you’re too chicken to ask your husband for a signature?”

“Why does he have to sign it?!” i whined in frustration, fingers moving up to sink into my hair.

“ you should have thought of that before you made him the Co-owner of your showroom. “

“He did pay for it. And that makes him owner by default. i didn’t even think about having the name changed. ” i said miserably. “ So just because of that, i need him to sign that form?”

“Yes. it’s a declaration that all the artwork in your showroom is yours.” Seulgi said brightly. “ And the entry closes at 7.00 PM which means you have till 6.00 PM in the evening to mail that thing, Y/N. Trust me, you don’t want to delay it.”

i groaned.

“Get my gun, it’s in the draw.” Jimin called out, standing in front of the full length mirror in our bedroom, buckling up the leather holster around his shoulders, the fabric of his white shirt stretching taut over his shoulders as he fixed the empty holder right over his chest. strapping it across his ribs. 

I stared at him. The envelope in my pocket felt like it weighed a ton and I thought it was ridiculous that i was even doing this. He did not own me. I should be able to do what i want without having to ask him for his permission and -

“are you listening to me?” 

“what?”

he rolled his eyes and turned around to stare at me. He frowned as I continued to stare at him, still wondering how to broach the subject with him. 

“Did you not hear? Get my gun...I’m running late.” He said impatiently, tilting his head in the direction of the closet and i bit my lips before moving to the edge of the walk in closet. 

“you told me you had a meeting with a potential investor today. why do you need a gun?” i said miserably, pushing back pressed  suits in plastic wraps to reach the inner shelves.

“Aw... is that you being concerned about me, baby? Well, aren’t you the perfect little wife...” he scoffed. 

i sighed and went back to the cupboard. 

“i need to talk to you about something important...” i said firmly, rummaging around one of the side shelves to find the small heart shaped key which opened the draw in the closet. i grabbed the pistol carefully, fingers shaking a bit at the heavy weight of it on my palm. 

I was half afraid it would go off and shoot me in the face. 

i moved back and held it out to him with shaking fingers. 

“Not today. I’ll be back tomorrow morning and we can talk then.” He said at once, grabbing the Glock out of my hand and moving to slide it into the holster near his chest. 

I tried not to groan. Why couldn’t he even listen to me? 

“But, it’s really important. i just.. you need to sign some stuff for me, that’s it. it won’t even take that long. i thought i could bring it in to your office and -”

“No. You do not come anywhere near my office, Y/N... i told you this a million times before.”

He gave me a stern stare before moving to the closet and grabbing a tie. 

“I’m not going to stay there.” i protested. “ it won’t even take a minute to just sign some-” 

“i said no. do you not understand what that means?” He looped the silk around his neck, pulling off an intricate knot with baffling ease. Momentarily mesmerized by the quick movements , i almost lost track of my thoughts. 

“I’ll leave it with your secretary then.. i won’t come in or anything just-”

“Reina has better things to do than deal with you.” He said shortly and my annoyance grew. 

“ Like make gaga eyes at you?” i snapped. “ You’re sleeping with her aren’t you?” 

He stopped, glaring at me through the mirror. 

“that is none of your fucking business.” He growled. 

“Yeah, well. If you can have sex with your secretary in that office , it won’t kill you to just sign a few papers for me....!” 

The next second, i found myself pressed up against the wall, his hand around my throat, choking the breath out of me. 

“Ow...” I gasped in shock staring at him as he glared down at me. 

“What have I told you about running that mouth of yours at me baby” He asked softly , thumb pressing into my windpipe just enough to make my eyes water.

 I clawed at his chest and his hold relaxed, fingers letting go of my throat , only to move down and grip my arm.

 i whimpered in surprise.

 Jimin had never manhandled me like this before but the fury in his eye was like a living breathing thing as he stared at me. 

“Get out.” He said softly. 

“ Jimin...”

“I SAID GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY ROOM!!!!!”

After two glasses of wine, my sense of self preservation was at it’s lowest .So i’d decided to try my luck anyway, despite the very scary warning my husband had handed out in the morning. 

I was sitting outside the hallway that led to his office, dressed in a beautiful dress and wearing my tallest pair of heels. A part of me had wondered if perhaps he didn’t want me to come to his office because he was ashamed of me, so i’d gone all out : had my hair professionally styled, put on make up and even bought a new dress for it. 

 I stared at the clock on the mantel , inching towards 5.00 PM which was when Jimin usually left his office. i thought the best thing to do would be to catch him in the corridor as he was leaving. He could sign it quickly then, without being inconvenienced. 

But as the clock kept ticking, 5.00 PM turning to 5. 30 , i felt a little nervous. 

Finally , ten minutes before it turned six, i began to panic, moving up to walk down the corridor to the glass doors at the end which led to his private office and suite. 

His receptionist sat behind the desk and his eyes went wide when he saw me. 

“ oh.... Ma’am... what are you doing here?” He looked petrified, looking left and right and I tried to smile reassuringly. So Jimin did not limit his terrorising ways to me. The poor boy looked so scared. 

“it’s nothing important.. i was just wondering when Jimin ssi will be out?” i said softly. 

“I... Ma’am... you really shouldn’t be here. “ He looked like he was a second away from sinking to his knees and begging me to leave. i frowned... 

what on earth was jimin doing in there? 

“i just.... need to...”

Without warning the intercom buzzed and I jumped a little. A rough, unfamiliar voice came over the small speaker, startling me. 

“Who the fuck is that, Mr. Kim?” the man demanded. 

The boy, Kim something... had gone perfectly still. He was staring at me white faced and terrified. 

“I.. I’m Jimin ssi’s wife.....” I said hesitantly, not sure what was happening.” I just... i wanted to see my husband.” 

Silence. 

i stared at the phone and an odd sense of foreboding began to fill my body. The feeling that i had done something irrevocably dangerous and foolish. 

“Jimin goon’s wife? Come right in sweetheart.” The man’s voice was oily and drawling , amused and filthy and I felt my fingers curl into fists. 

“Is... Is Jimin there...” i tried again. 

A beat. 

“Come in, babe.” 

i felt relief sweep through me at his familiar voice. Panting a bit from holding my breath so long , i gave the receptionist a weak smile and slowly moved to the glass doors, opening into the main rooms. 

i followed the deserted corridors, each step filling me with a deeper sense of dread till i finally reached the huge oak doors at the end of the hallway. I knocked on it nervously. 

“Come in.” 

The moment i stepped in, I knew exactly why jimin didn’t want me to come to his office. 

About two dozen men stood around the office, scattered randomly, each carrying guns and right in the center, on either side of a huge table sat my husband and another unfamiliar man. 

i froze completely, staring at jimin, who looked completely blank as he stared back. 

“What do you want?” He said boredly, but i saw the way his fingers fluttered, the way his eyes practically screamed in frustration. 

He didn’t want me here . 

“Now, now... Jimin-ah.... is that anyway to talk to a beautiful woman? Come closer sweetheart, let’s get a good look at you.i’m Im Jae Bum , by the way. ” 

i stayed frozen, my legs having given up on me. 

Without warning, a hand closed over my arm yanking me forward so harshly that i whimpered in surprise. one of the men had moved closer and grabbed me, dragging me closer to the table . 

Thud. 

Jimin was lunging across the table, the force of his actions sending the chair flying and I stared as he growled out, grabbing  Jae bum by the collar, fingers wrapped around his Glock in a death grip, the muzzle pressing into Jae bum’s forehead. 

“She is not a part of this, you fucker. Tell that guy to let go of her before i put a fucking bullet in your brain.” Jimin whispered.

I could feel my body physically going cold in stark terror as Jae bum laughed. 

“You’re not going to shoot me, jimin ah.... What will your boss say then, huh? Last i checked you guys need me , more than i need you. “ 

And then he turned around to leer at me . 

“and if i say, i want this sweetling , there’s not much you can do about it, right?” he sneered at jimin. 

Jimin growled and let go of the man till he fell back. 

“She’s my wife. She’s not a part of this deal. You or your little buddies come anywhere near her and i swear to God, i’ll butcher each and every one of you....There won’t be enough of you left to fill a fucking matchbox...” He said dangerously. 

Jae Bum gave him a steady stare seemingly unmoved. 

“I’ll make that decision, Jimin. For now, you give me the cash and i give you all the intel you need.” He pointed at the briefcase on the table. Jimin stared at the briefcase , and pushed it across the smooth surface. Jae Bum caught the leather case before pulling out a small flash drive, sliding it over to Jimin who caught it . 

“Let her go , now.” Jimin growled, turning to stare at my captor. The man grunted and let go and I couldn’t stop myself from crashing forward. 

i didn’t hit the ground , jimin having darted out to grab me around the waist, hugging me close and pressing a palm to the back of my head, tugging me close till my face was buried in his chest. 

“i...wh-what just...” i stuttered but he wasn’t looking at me, already glaring at jae Bum. 

“Get out of my office.” He said coldly. Jae bum grinned and tilted his head, aiming a smile at me. 

“We’ll meet again, baby girl.” He called out, before motioning to his men. I stayed in Jimin’s arms, my fingers curled itno his shoulders , clinging to him in genuine distress as the room emptied out. Once everyone left, Jimin finally pulled back to stare at me.

“You okay?” He said, tone unusually gentle and I couldn’t even nod, just staring at him in shock.

“What am I going to do with you, you idiot? Didn’t i tell you not to come here? ” He whispered, pushing the hair off my face. 

I swallowed , hugging him closer. 

“He.. he said.. he’ll..”

“He’s not coming anywhere near you. i won’t let him. Stop shaking... Come on.. stop...”

“I’m so sorry... I’m....”

“No, babe. I’m sorry. I’m sorry for marrying you. For bringing you into this damn world of mine. I’m sorry for everything.” He said miserably and I felt confusion flood me.

“J-Jimin?” 

“fuck, i should have known that i could never keep you out of it.... I’m such an idiot... i thought i could keep you safe. if i just stayed away from you, kept you at a distance... i could keep you safe but... Oh, God.. i’m so sorry..” 

I gripped him harder. 

“You’re.. You’re not one of them... are you? You’re not a bad man, are you? ” i said , willing him to disagree. 

He took a deep breath.

“No, i’m not.” 

Relief flooded me. 

“Oh, Thank God... Thank god I...”

“I’m a cop.” He whispered.’

i froze.

“What?”

“i’m an NIS agent. I work with the Narcotics and Gang Violence department and Three years ago we received intel that your father was involved in some stuff . i thought if i married you, i could -”

i shoved him off me, scrambling away in disbelief. 

 father...he married me because he wanted to get close to father ... and i thought... i thought he remembered me... i thought he cared a bit about me... i thought that he must’ve cared for me ...why else would he still be here but it was never about me because he had never wanted me in the first place...... 

“Y/N....”

“You liar...” I whispered in disbelief.

“Y/N... hear me out...”

“You filthy liar!! you lied to me about everything!! Everything!!” i screamed. Jimin moved to grab my arm but i snarled.

“Don’t fucking touch me!!! So that’s why you wanted to have a baby with me?! You were afraid my father would be upset with you and then you would lose your access to him.... Even if you had to make a fool out of me... even if you had to bring an innocent baby into your filthy lies...you don’t even care what happens to me....  ” i shouted. 

“I do care about you! I do... Y/N....” 

“Lies! everything that comes out of your damn mouth is a lie!! So stop it... stop talking to me...” 

“No, wait...”

But i was already storming out of the office, running out into the hallways and ignoring his shouts.

Miscellaneous Rune Factory 4 Secrets/Lil Cute Things I Noticed!

Dunno if any of this is helpful, and probably most people already know cos im a dummy who didnt read any walkthroughs or anything, but MEH I wanna squee about how neat these details are anyway! :D

* Every super giant version of a vegetable has a unique name (E.g. Doom Pumpkin, Ultra Toyherb and Maximum Pink) And did you notice that in the credits all the english translation team use one of these as a nickname? That’s adorable! * One of the requests is a tad confusing cos it asks to harvest a ‘Shining Tree’ but the crop is actually named Twinkle Tree. (Even though the seed is Shining Seed) I got stumped on that for a while cos I thought the tree still had another growth stage if I watered it more. Aside from that I havent seen a single translation mistake, which is amazing! * You can get unique dialogue if you have a character in your party while inspecting certain parts of the map. So far all I’ve found is that Arthur explains all the mysterious crates of trading items on the airship, and margaret gives you free fruit if you check the various things in her house. (only once though!) She also talks about how some famous historical composers were part of the De Sainte Coquille family. (for example Beet Hoven XD) * You can befriend boss monsters which is Really Friggin Cool and I’m glad I discovered it by accident instead of reading a guide! Its just so badass to use their hella annoying attacks against enemies and tear them aprt, or ride about on something that takes up the entire map! * But yeah anyway the fun trivia part: the secret boss recruitment items for the guardian rematches are the same as the best friendship items for the characters themselves! Marionetta is the easiest to recruit cos she just loves the highest level cake items, which you can get fairly often in Porco and Dylas’s daily food shop. Oh bonus fun tip- they each sell different dishes each day so check both if you’re looking for something! It can help a lot when you need like thirty damn Apple Pie/Cheesecake to capture your best friend’s monster self. *Thunderbolt likes the giant crop version of carrots, but i havent grown one yet. I’m not sure what exactly Ambrosia and Sarcophogus like, is there even a higher level version of honey and mushrooms...? Maybe its a high level flower and one of the lategame salted fish recipes...? * Oh and it seems some boss monsters who have a particularly large amount of attacks have some that they cant use while you’re riding them, since there’s only three buttons. Marionetta cant use the one where she throws plush toys unless you dismount. The concept art shows a pair of monsterous hands with eyeballs that operate the marionette strings, and Marionetta’s pet monster description gives this other monster the name Handetta and seems to talk about it as if it has Pico’s personality. I dunno, maybe monster-dolce manifested a pico duplicate because she was lonely, or pico was casting a spell to create those marionette hands so she could keep her monsterified friend from hurting people? Its an interesting lil trivia that gives me fanfic ideas! * The Dead Tree boss monster’s apples are apparantly flat 2D textures, you just cant see cos it never turns its head while fighting you. But it looks kinda hilarious when its your pet! * If you wear a costume and go on a date with someone, it seems they’re quite likely to change into their version of the costume too. And if they’re wearing a costume on the world map they’ll stay in it if you add them to your party, and won’t change back until you send them home. I had fun always grabbing everybody during beach day and slumber parties before I was able to unlock the costumes for myself! It was a nice preview cos certain characters wear the same costume as the protagonist, just in different colours. (Btw this only works for swimsuit and pyjamas, not the rainbow of recolours for the default outfit) * For some reason characters still say ‘i wont go on a date til you get rid of that third wheel’ even when your other party member is just a monster. I would have thought it would be perfectly fine to bring my pet along :P I kinda hope that if we get a rune factory 5 then maybe there could be two-seater monsters where you can both ride while on a date and get special cuteness! :D * if you clear the leon karnak revisited dungeon before getting the super secret postgame quest to revive [certain person who died in the ending], you get a bonus awkward scene of reaching the top and nothing is there but Leon’s two shrine fox statues. Protagonist says ‘i just wanted to visit you guys’ and they’re like ‘wtf this is most irregular’. You can even give them gifts! (but they dont have a friendship bar to raise so youre just wasting your items lol) * if you clear the maya road snowfield dungeon before starting the act 2 quest where you’re SUPPOSED to clear that dungeon, nothing actually happens and you just cant walk through the final door to the next dungeon. Then annoyingly when you do initiate the quets all the switches in the dungeon reset so you have to do it again even though your map shows that you already finished it. I just find it odd cos Leon Karnak showed the developers thought about sequence breaking, but here they didnt. I was annoyed cos I stumbled in there entirely by accident and didnt even realize I had to initiate a quest first! * For some reason Doug hates bread and toast but is fine about sandwiches. And its a bit unintuitive to figure out Leon’s ‘likes poisonous things’ tip, cos he reacts the same as everyone else when you give him most poisonous dungeon items- getting pissed off that you gave him ‘trash’. IM SORRY LEON! It seems he only likes mushrooms and certain fish thatre stated to be poisonous uncooked. But then every other fish he only likes it if its cooked. Why u confusig, Leon?? * Dylas has the most favourite items, loving carrots, milk, fish, sashimi and anything else related. Kinda ironic that the self-proclaimed grumpy guts is the easiest to befriend! * I’m not sure if this is official canon or not, but it might be possible that Doug is related to Zaid from Rune Factory 3. Both of them have a backstory of their tribe being destroyed by invading humans, and they share silver eyes that might possibly be that tribe’s trait? (I dont think any other character has them) * Daria from RF3 could also possibly be Margaret’s sister. Raven says that there’s a resembelance between Margaret and ‘an elf in my village’, and Margaret mentions having a sister who’s an artist, so it might be her? * Oh and more obviously Porcoline is related to the De Saint Coquille family from RF3. And I havent personally played RF1 and 2 yet but from what I’ve heard there are other De Saint Coquilles cameoing in every game in the series? Thats cool! I wonder if they all share that same weird art style? * For some reason your son/daughter character always has Frey’s colourscheme even if you play as Lest. That’s really weird! I guess maybe they ran out of memory space to add two sets, but why didnt they just make the male and female protagonist have the same hair colour? * The promotional Nintendo Dream manga has the romances for the protagonists set as Dolce for Lest and Dylas for Frey. So thats the closest thing we have to an answer on the developers’ favourite routes, and we can assume maybe they liked Frey as the main protagonist? Though I’m not personally too hung up on which option is more canon, lol!

ive been sitting on this post for the better part of a year. i tried to read through it and make edits, but im going to have to post this as is. maybe ill be able to edit it someday. anyway, this is completely composed of spoilers.

tl;dr: i mostly wrote bitterness about “kung food,” “origins part 1,″ and “reflekta.”

these are my thoughts on what ive watched of the first season of miraculous ladybug (i have watched most of every episode except the last three).

i may be confused or misinformed on some points. some of this is not as serious as other parts, and the writing style is disjointed because i didnt write it all in one go. any links are formatted within brackets (as in [text]).

why did alya just toss manon like that? she couldve hurt something just being thrown around with her tiny little bones and joints that lack any significant cushioning. not to mention that her neck is completely unsupported. safety, much?

i get that alya is supposed to be that “go-getter” friend who pushes marinette to be brave, but honestly, if she had waited another minute for marinette to be more ready for making a phone call, this wouldve been less of a mess. yeah, i get the “pushing boundaries to build confidence,” but honestly we could have waited for marinette to stop stalking adrien, too.

i gotta say: marinette is truly fearless. my phone is so suspicious. i would not have the confidence to deliberately touch it with my face and risk contact with who knows what has been on it.

the “moral” or whatever of this episode is kind of unclear? steal someones phone and run into issues with security but then also somehow break into it and get what you want anyway? no, thats not okay. its not that funny that marinette legitimately stole someones phone, and she doesnt even get seriously reprimanded for this.

one of the most pressing questions i have for this episode is why no one thought of using pockets or a bag or something to hold this important watch. hand perspiration is pretty bad for a lot of older and newer mechanical objects alike. why is this clearly-important item treated any different? ive considered both the “tikki is in the bag” (doesnt mean it has to be marinettes bag) and the “girl pockets” (marinette designed her own clothes, though) possibilities, and im still stumped.

seeing as people dont lose their memories of being attacked by the villains, i really dont see how tearing down the eiffel tower (even in an animated show where people are not in the structure at the time) is the best way to minimize traumatic experiences. i get that it was supposed to be a “wow” moment for the plot and just visual effects but not the appeal.

the second i ever laid my eyes on this name i knew it would be bad, i just didnt know how bad because there were just so many ways it couldve gone with that phrase and i didnt know what to expect until i actually watched the episode. more on this in a bit.

there was literally no point to having the famous chef be related to marinette other than contrived circumstances to get adrien into this episode. im using this as a launching off point for talk of other stuff.

why didnt marinettes parents do anything about a relative coming to their house? this really baffles me because they have their daughter meet an effective stranger with no help.

why didnt marinettes parents tell her what languages the relative spoke? honestly, it kind of seems like they just didnt even care if this would cause her extreme anxiety or anything. you would really think they would have at least discussed this as a family because it was made pretty clear that his visit was actually expected. i thought way higher of their characters until it seemed that they pulled this crap move.

i know it was supposed to be all cute and a bonding moment when adrien came over to translate, but it was even more of a disaster. why did they take a car literally around the corner to get to the hotel? why didnt the chef go directly to the hotel if it was so close? was that adriens car? who was in charge of organizing this event and making sure the contestants didnt end up in the wrong place? how in the world did the chef even get to the bakery? because of the close proximity of the hotel to the bakery, it doesnt make sense that he would go to the bakery instead from an airport or something? unless he was supposed to meet his relatives? which, in this case, was not facilitated at all? so many questions are raised.

i dont speak nor understand mandarin, but im pretty sure adriens wasnt good enough for him to actually be complimented for it. then again, its nothing new to see white people getting complimented for deigning to learn a ~foreign language~ while i get interrogated about my lack of “authenticity” for not speaking “my native tongue,” so i guess the writers were just being realistic.

he bowed...funny story, at least one time i went to a restaurant with other visibly asian people and the apparently-white waiter kept making this weird head bobbing motion every time they left the table and what im saying here is that i know adrien has presumably been learning about culture stuff, but i also know firsthand that creators really love to shove bowing into media whenever asian people show up. (that waiter did give us extra mints, so i guess that was nice.)

sarcasm alert: i love when ~asian~ people have ~asian~ accents. its not like this is a tired gimmick that i dont need to see literally everywhere i turn (oh, wait! according to the english version, it is! hooray for me! this is probably the most exciting thing that has ever happened to me ever! im not being sarcastic at all! or overly sarcastic to the point where im sarcastically putting in that everything ive written in this paragraph is sarcastic because im just so mad! or maybe it definitely is! it probably is all sarcasm!) [bonus sarcasm here]

the chefs english/default dub language fluency was either inconsistent or this was just a straight-up rude portrayal of a nonnative speaker of a language, because adrien didnt seem to wait five seconds (for the chef to even consider the question about what he was cooking) before talking to the chef (and naturally, being a polite person, the chef listened to what adrien was saying), and i feel like it was only for the sake of adrien being ~useful~ because right after that, he talks to the chef in english/whatever language? dont think i didnt notice that his english speaking got “better” after becoming a villain. you know, if they hadnt faked the accent in the first place, they wouldnt have had to hastily cover for the fact that their voice actor couldnt even execute it well.

im sure adrien and marinette tag-teaming to argue with chloe and her racist comments was supposed to be this whole “wow look at that team” deal, but it felt like adrien was shoehorned into this mess sloppily. woohoo for the white boy defending marinette because she cant do it herself or something! i do appreciate when white people help stand up for me, but in this context, it feels off.

i have such a big problem with the “pep talk” adrien gives marinette when she thinks the chef doesnt like her. first thing, white boy explaining things about a person of color to a person of color, and the two people are actually literally related? i think the bouquet misunderstanding was really bizarre, and when did adrien have time to gain all this extensive exposition? the interview when they first arrived was short, and i dont think that both adrien and the chef would be so rude as to exclude marinette from their conversation in the car on the way over. this just comes off as a way to have adrien ~encouraging~ marinette, and its not a very good one.

this supposedly super prestigious competition literally has no security to make sure no one is mucking around behind the scenes, let alone ensure that the contestants arent up to any funny business. because why not. and no cameras around either, because cooking-based television programs never show any cooking, just the tasting and subsequent subjugation by a villain (this is a sarcastic sentence). even if this is supposed to be a featured dish and thus one they dont want to showcase the recipe behind, they could still have those little soundbites interspersed with candid panorama shots (can you tell i have no idea what any of these words mean?). im just going to have to chalk this one up to animation budget and move on.

i know this was just a sort of (intendedly funny) visual thing, but i highly doubt that the objects chloe put in the soup could just go unnoticed, especially since i presume a chef would thoroughly stir (and taste) their cooking, and the soup didnt appear to have properties of decomposing things touching it. otherwise that tasting session would probably have turned out a little messier (i am completely kidding here).

why is the chef being upset about being sabotaged made into a ~cultural~ thing? why is a white boy telling marinette about her ~own~ culture? sheesh, its like you cant just be upset because your shot at a world title was ruined on live television and you have confirmation that you were deliberately sabotaged. yes, chloe did it because shes petty and racist, but the results of her actions could upset anyone! its not just because the chef is chinese! what is the point of saying that? its a pointless throwaway comment! why dont you just find some other way to get the chef alone so he can be become a villain that isnt a) nonsensical and b) making sweeping generalizations about people? (granted, i cant speak to the validity of anything said about cultures, but i sure can comment on why saying such things about them isnt okay regardless).

“kung food” oh my god. this is such a piece of crap name. it is racist. you can literally try to argue against this until youve gone far beyond oxygen deprivation and in a grave but itll still be racist by the time youre done. aside from the pharaoh, there arent a bunch of ~ethnic~ names (not that it would be okay for that to be the case anyway) running around, and yet we get one with this specific villain whose ethnic and national origin is talked to death? okay.

and ive seen this pointed out, but the villain appearance seems to have a kind of anime-inspired design, which is honestly a good laugh because who was just talking about not conflating china and japan again? weeaboos and sinaboos are often in the same boat.

okay, not related, but adrien just had to taste a suspicious substance off the floor. why. there are so many ways to figure out what a substance is before putting it in your mouth. or you could just not do that at all. before this point, they did not appear to suspect a food-related villain, so this couldve ended badly.

another side note: i dont know how that receipt retained its integrity long enough for ladybug to wrap the villain up after dipping it in the soup. do the magical items just have super special properties like extra toughness that allows them to defy the reality of paper receipts? i wonder how many of the things ive talked about in this post have been me marveling at the sturdiness of lucky charm items.

of course this turns into an ~accountability~ lesson for marinette. and chloe doesnt get reprimanded? yeah, she got booted off a panel she didnt even want to be on and no one actually clearly articulated to her that the things she said were absolutely unacceptable? then again, this is a “diversity episode,” so i dont know why my standards are so high.

wow, marinette really needed to have adrien encourage her before going to take a picture with her great-uncle? im going to be generous and allow that she wanted to make sure he would be okay with her ditching him for her much cooler great-uncle because she didnt want him to feel bad about how not-cool he is in comparison. there, you see what i mean about making up story elements? (though im really not much of a writer, oops.)

im so over people making fun of how others dress as a joke. before i realized that i am autistic and reflected back on my life, i didnt realize that i gravitate toward clothing i find comfortable rather than fashionable, and ive always gotten negative comments, ill-intended or otherwise. so i really didnt appreciate marinettes jab at chloe, even if it was to defend herself. it was just unnecessary.

i want to talk about the whole ~chinese representation~ thing in this show. yeah, i know marinette is one of the very few chinese and mixed main characters out there (and there are barely any that are both), but im going to be super honest about this: i dont think shes all that great. i am a big fan of her and this show, but that doesnt make it infallible. the fact that adrien of all people is telling her about her own culture is a huge failing in itself. i dont know everything about my own cultures, but its not cool to have a literal outsider being shown to be the expert on someones culture and be the one to guide them through that. theres barely any portrayal of sino stuff in the show as is, and i hate the way this is only shown as a kind of special episode topic. i would be way more fine with this if this wasnt basically the sole instance of discussion of marinettes heritage. and no, the fact that her mother wears stereotypical clothing doesnt count. at all.

okay, this has been a huge issue for me before and after this point, but it was in this episode that it was made abundantly clear just what we are dealing with. i know that it is completely possible, genetically speaking, for a mixed chinese and white person to have blue eyes. its also completely possible for a chinese person to have gray eyes even without being mixed (i say this because i dont know if her mother is monoracial). however, if you only have two confirmed recurring characters of chinese descent, and their eye colors are ~special~ colors...well, thats kind of iffy there. why is it that the minor chinese character has stereotypical eyes? theyre basically just expanded pupils for all intents and purposes, which is not the problem, because its possible to have irises that are so dark as to make figuring out whether they have a distinguishable brown tint to them really hard. anyway, i suppose i dont want to talk about things ahead in the season, but why is it that the background asian characters get the stereotypical eyes but the main characters who are asian get the special eye colors? (that was a rhetorical question. i know exactly why.)

im pretty that at some point in the creation of this villain name, someone patted themself on the back for being so ~clever~ like “haha kung food geddit? its like kung fu but with food because im actually not that creative and more racist than i would like to openly admit.” okay, i know im being a bit harsh. but its really annoying when one of the few things people “know” about sino people is that kung fu exists. and honestly, i kind of suspected this, but ive seen other people say that the villain more resembles a villain from anime, so...thats kind of disrespectful there...

this show really didnt need any “haha look a ~guy~ in a dress” jokes. and honestly, this was ill handled (though arguably, its very existence was ill handled). first of all, im not the best judge of this kind of thing, but to me, ladybug felt out of character while mocking chat noir? honestly, marinette doesnt strike me as the type of person to find that kind of situation funny in the first place, so the premise doesnt really hold up in my opinion. i know marinette can make mistakes, but youd really think she would be more open to not thinking this way because she knows what its like to be bullied for other things. moving on... [though, to reiterate]

the way this was not addressed? at all? yeah, ladybug apologized for that one comment at the beginning of their conversation, but then she continued to make jokes at chat noirs expense, and it just wasnt as funny as it was probably intended to be?

i know the whole thing about ambiguous chronology, but there is no reason ladybug wouldnt take chat noirs opinion into account when planning for things anyway. it felt like that part was written specifically so he could “prove” his worth to the rest of the episode and ensure that, yes, he is still allowed to be in it after being turned into a reflekta lookalike, and the whole thing smacks of trying to write out of a corner...that was written into in the first place. if it hadnt gone the route it did with the mocking of appearances, i dont think it would have had to be as convoluted as it ended up being.

i personally dont care for high heels, but i dont get the kind of “fashion cracks” that were being made about them. like yes, high heels can be hard to move in? yeah, it isnt fun being turned into the appearance of someone who isnt you against your will? i just dont understand this gag.

master fu has brown eyes. so thats like four ~chinese~ characters that are in this show, and the main character and her mother have the special eye colors, and the minor character who is somewhat important to the plotline has non-black eyes, and the minor one-episode character has the black eyes. what a shining example of diversity (no).

anyway this is a good point to say that some things are just not for you. there are things that you just cant be a part of no matter how much you want to be because it just doesnt work that way. and the mess that is the miraculous “mythology” is definitely an example of this. i myself have very little knowledge of anything sino, but i sure as heck can spot that this...”history” thing is so off.

at this point i should probably mention i really dislike master fu as a character in general. just as a single point, apparently hes based off the teacher character in karate kid? i saw somewhere that the creator said he basically made marinette mixed because he was dating an asian person when he was thinking about the show and that marinette is basically his idea of their mixed kid? and back to the eye color thing (again), ive even seen someone with green eyes and blue hair suggest to him that they could be the child of marinette and adrien, and he said theyre like his grandchild? (im not really inclined to try to dig up an iron-clad, indisputably genuine source for this right now, but if youre honestly searching for completely serious, well-researched information in a really good quality post, this is not the post you are looking for.) i have no idea where i was even going with this paragraph.

why is marinette so invested in her crush on adrien? this couldve been a sweet crush, but no, she has to make it so creepy? leading up to this episode, i really didnt know what to expect because i really thought there would be some sort of explanation for just how extreme the lengths marinette goes to are, but from what i can tell, shes just being super invasive? the ambiguous timeline doesnt really help with this, nor does the fact that the origins episodes were aired at the end of the season. whatever characterization was supposed to be inferred from this feels choppy and unnecessary.

anyway, from what i can tell about this episode, i think that there was too much on marinettes flaws, which i really think is a bit much to have in the last chronological episode of a season. its already been established that she makes mistakes with her decisions, but i just thought her unequal prioritization of adrien was too much. it just seemed contrived to squeeze in scenes that the creators wanted to animate regardless of overall context in the show, which is really unfortunate because of how the show becomes a little less chronologically ambiguous at this point.

 I’m happy that my family man wo was looking to step back from the role have decided against it. At the time, he said that she had achieved the main goal I set out for him of turning around the blockages that was preventing the smooth delivery of the particulars both private and professional.  He was stepping back to focus on family matters as it relates to us.  I’m happy he decided against such. He rejected suggestions that she had yet to prove that the Network and Global Structure was on the right track as it tries to become less dependent on the goals of expansion and more about reposition itself to benefit from the rise of the new relevance and leverages, I have allowed them to achieve. Under my leadership and with the help of the OLC and all Intellectuals across the Globe, te Network and Global Structure has become “far more nimble, far more agile, and frankly a much better Structure than it was previously”, have added a lot of value in terms of shareholder value creation for all the stakeholders on the Network and within the Global Structure.  We’ve done a remarkable thing for the Network and the Global Structure and Intellectuals and Partners and Institution and Team et al. “I believe with hindsight Gary was the right person to take on the challenges.” Said the Global Sector and Network and Global Structure.

 On a personal Wealth Management Fund and my personal particulars, we have laid out a five-year plan and I’m happy to report to the Team et al that the policies in relation to these details is currently being worked upon and will further be developed when the Offices are ready. I have become one of the most accomplished and sought-after executives of our time. This isn’t because of wealth, it is because of Intellectual Capacity and Classical Intellect which is so a washed within the Network and Global Structure. We are contributing and building and scaling some of the most important global companies today.  Intellectuals lets focus, lets deliver. Shocked tactics allegations of a massive fraud that rocked with an intension to smear and impute people’s integrity and further undermine credibility and also to act as an impediment as described in the first paragraph, is being robust dealt with and further thrown out.  CEOs, Partners, Institution and Team et al we have formed an unusual partnership and unusual alliance but not so unusual we are family, my family have this week invested in the billions to my personal Wealth Management Fund to show their long term commitment to me personally and also to they have released long held Intellectual Capacity to support the building of the roads to the various paths. This was also done to send out a clear message that I am no longer the passive legal authority, I am the legal Authority and a foundational member of the family.  We are taking on a portfolio which will be dubbed The Passive Capacity Investment Initiative and it will live in my Private Hub. A lot of the financing will go towards commissioning and licensing content from top Intellectuals within that Industry, many of whom are also investing in the Initiative not through Finance but through Intellectual Capacity.

CEOS, Partners, Institutions, additions and Team et al even as the initiatives are in the nascent stages of development it does not deter investors including my largest Investors and my most Influential Intellectual Adviser.  The process is moving forward, and the delivery of the particulars are going trough the pipeline for delivery to me both for the Network and Global Structure and also of my Private Wealth Fund. The location of the flour HQ1 are places full of intellectual capacity is a more interesting city in which to live and work and the environment have reconciled with our principles and values and are legally full proof and Intellectually earthquake proof. The Network and Global Structure will continue to survive disruption.  This week I’m happy to say that we have initialled agreements for deliver to my Offices of Signature and Stamp and Approval.  My technology Hubs et al are at the forefront of developing technologies exclusive to us, and enabling real-time insights, personalized experiences and the ability to take action instantaneously. These tools – will have the power to not only replicate the work of dozens of humans, but to fundamentally change history. The policy and details surrounding this is taking shape and soon we will be feeling the effects of that incremental progress. We have received assurances that these tools will be upgraded two yearly for performance and relevance and taking into account our further responsibility to the environment. This brings with it more than opportunity, but a necessity to do something revolutionary, truly innovative and unconventional.
