Writing Process

I used to believe I was a pantser, turns out I’m a plantser. My Writing process is as follows:

Idea: I have a phrase or a scene that I start out with as my spark for a story

Brainstorm: From there, I brainstorm what could be a potential plot, characters or setting

Research: From my brainstorm, I research any topic I know very little about. 

Character sheets: I make character sheets for any characters who will be speaking (so no characters who are mentioned in name only)

Pseudo Outline: I use the pixar outline for each character

Outline: Using those outlines I make a beat sheet (3-5 pages max)

Draft 1: I do the nano-wrimo method, so 1 month is 50k words, I finished my first manuscript in a month and 2 weeks

Edit: This part where beta readers, cps and drafting begins is still being refined. I don’t have a clear routine yet.

China’s symbolism of the lily is a century of love and good luck. Specifically pink lilies symbolize love, prosperity, luck, and abundance as well as radiating an elegant and feminine aura. The monarch butterfly is the Queen of all butterflies! She is the Crowned Empress of energy, perseverance, mysticism, faith and transcendence. The monarch butterfly escorts us to the peak of our spiritual truth. She awakens our inner compass that directs us in the right direction. Monarch butterflies are the most evolved of all species due to their incredible migration from as far as Canada to breed and back to the warmth of Mexico to hibernate. This is why she symbolizes spiritual evolution and a cosmic connection. Aristotle declared the butterfly be renowned as Psyche. This is the Ancient Greek word for soul. There are many societies that consider the butterfly as the representation of a mortal soul. The butterfly is the Celtic Zodiac for those born between September 30th thru October 27th. Those born under this sign are said to be extremely social hence the phrase, “Social Butterfly”. They are known to have a joyful personality and a cheery disposition. They are intuitively empathetic, and people are drawn to their positive aura. Symmetry is another manifestation of the balance of Yin and Yang, of the unimpeded flow of ch'i. Ch’I is a river pristine energy, a power that not only flows through us, but unites our tangible self, our body, thoughts, emotions and sensations to our intangible, our spirit and consciousness. The finished drawing is of Sokka kissing Zuko from ATLA. Both of their eyes are closed and Sokka is holding the back of Zuko's head. Zuko's long hair is pulled back into a messy bun with hair escaping and Sokka's hair is down and in his face. Sokka's eyebrow is drawn together passionately, and there's a slight smile on Zuko's face. The colors are tinted purple. End ID.

I tried making a demo/tutorial (?) to show my process, I hope it's understandable!

I'm sorry if it's confusing, I'm not the best at making tutorials lmao.

I want to specify that it's just my own process and that it's in no way something that you have to do or strictly follow.

It's all about playing around with colors and match it with your own pieces!

Hearing your WIP as a podcast/audiobook: NoteBytes

So there is another awesome website called NoteBytes, that turns your notes into a podcast for you to listen to.

I will be using this and Audiblogs. Audiblogs for turning articles and various research resources from text to podcast, and NoteBytes for turning my own words to podcast.

I think for any aspiring writer this may be an amazing option to:

1. See what your work sounds like aloud like an audiobook.

2. Gage the pacing, is it too rushed? Too slow?

3. Hear your writing or grammar errors, if you switch perspectives, use too much exposition, etc.

Overall, I am really psyched about this tool and will definitely implement using this daily for both general research and my WIPs. I would highly recommend others do the same.
