"It takes a fool to remain sane !" The fool, the jester and the journey towards truthfulness and acceptance of difference ! Open your eyes baby ! Let’s be brave together ! Young Royal analysis.

So it all started with a question that arose in the Kingdom (long live the Kingdom !), a group of fans discussing all things related to YR, playing detectives and throwing spaghettis all around to see what sticks (Kingdom TM). What does the drawing Sara makes mean, what to do with this strange Nordic Nisse ( a playful winter Gnome who loves to play tricks) under this blazing sun ? A winter gnome around Christmas makes sense. But what about the sun ?

The image reminded me of a court jester and of the tarot card where the fool is represented by the sun.

So we dived together, we found many interesting conclusions and today, I would like to go further, first to link it to the main song “it takes a fool to remain sane” and to link this carnival theme to the Valborg’s theme present in the S3 trailer. Let’s dive.

The song first chosen to represent the love story, the one that could be sung, the one destined to mesmerize the Handsome prince was “Symphony” by Zara Larrson. Then they switched it to “It takes a fool to remain sane” by the Ark. It’s the first song we hear in YR, in the church, with a Solo by Simon. It’s an important song.

And the song continues a little bit in the next scene where Wille and Eric rediscover their inner child, play the fool by running up the stairs trying to escape the PR circus and the scrutiny. The song invites Wille and all of us to be the jester, to play it like a harlequin, to “take it to the stage in a multicoloured jacket /Take it jackpot, crackpot, strutting like a peacock/Nailvarnish Arkansas, shimmy-shammy featherboah /Crackpot, haircut, dye your hair in glowing red and blue”, Yeah Go  Simon ! Go Wille ! Go Wilmon ! (It's strange to see Wille in pink or in studded jackets etc. but I kinda like seeing him experimenting his true self, be brave etc. Embrace the madness baby ! )

So the song invites us to be different, to “be brave, to break down the walls of attitude” just for the sake of it. It invites us to not be afraid “to feel strange, to feel ashamed, to seem strange, to seem insane, to gain weight, to seem gay”. The song tells us that it’s “your right to laugh at me”, that it will not prevent me to “feel brave, because ridicule is no shame”.

Simon the gay, Wille the rebel to rules and Sara the autist embody the outsiders, the free thinkers who dare to be different, to not care about the look, to speak freely, to find one’s voice even if this is a painful journey. The struggles to be the fool in order to stay sane, the journey to be able to speak one’s truth is hard, leads to a steep hill.

To speak freely, to question the conventions, the traditions is exactly the role of the court jester. He has to open everyone’s eyes to the madness of society. Sara does it quite naturally. Wille endlessly attempts to do so with his parents (to no avail so far) thanks to Boris. He questions their reality. He opens his eyes and try to take them to also open theirs and question appearances. In a carnivalesque society where the jester has its own place, the roles can be reversed. The  fool can be a king, the gender boundaries have no meaning, the class divides are pointless.

So what’s the link to Valborg  ? Valborg is quite different. It has another meaning. But there is also a fire that ends the obscure times to lead to the light. And the carnival where the jester reigns normally ends with a bonfire where you burn all the old meaningless symbols. The fool and everyone are invited to dance and chant around a fire to start a revolution, i.e a reversal of roles, a new life, a new beginning.

So thanks to YR and  the Ark, we all know what we have to do:

Omg that person is completely unhinged. I hope they’re not an adult because at least if they’re a tween they can somewhat be excused for their little fantasies. Anyone else is deranged and insane. I feel like his quick descent into ugliness and aging like milk is making his fans desperate to make him a victim/supehero. Dude’s literally got nothing going on except grow new hair plugs and it’s making them super defensive like they know the clocks ticking on his expiration date.

for these specific fans it looks like they're upset by larries because they hate louis, so they latched onto taylor russell i'm only guessing because she's a POC and the least problematic of any of his girlfriends and probably the one who they consider the "coolest" aesthetically, so they're afraid to let go as we said before. they are so afraid of who he could date next. they're so afraid his real babies will be to people like olivia or worst! and while he was with her they could placate themselves with her over louis/larries.

so strange to be mad about louis/larries at this stage in harry's life. at least find something about harry you actually like to fixate on during this time. like idk his music???? maybe buy some $20 nailvarnish and $300 shirts and calm down russellsaveusfromthelarriesheads?

✅ Fun Lacquer "Jingle Bells" - This took 4 coats as it's very sheer. It did dry quite quickly though feels a bit rough without a top coat. It is so sparkly in real life, looks like fire. Keeping it.

✅ Sally Hansen Miracle Gel "Jingle Red Rock" - This took 2 coats. It has a wide brush and dries quick, have to be careful applying as it seems to dry when putting on. Can slightly see the brush strokes though. Another keeper.

✅ Revlon Scented "Mon Cherry" - This was 2 coats though it looked good with 1. The brush is skinny but it still applies well. It no longer has much of a scent as I've had it a long time. Keeping it.

✅ Floss Gloss Ltd "Gangsta Boo" - This again was 2 coats but looked ok with 1. It's a little awkward to apply with the bottle being small though. Keeping for now.

❌ Nails Inc "Victoria & Albert" - I used 2 coats and there was still a slight patch. It has a slim brush so a bit trickier to get a fully smooth finish. I'll be getting rid of this one.

✅ Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine "Blood Orange" - This was 2 coats though looked decent with 1. It does have a skinny brush and dries a bit slowly but it has a nice glossy finish. Keeping it.

✅ NCLA "Rush Hour" - This looked really good with just 1 coat though I used 2 for the swatch. It dries quickly too. Definitely keeping.

❌ NCLA "Friends" - This was 2 coats though looked ok with 1. It's a bit of a thicker formula that dried more slowly than the previous NCLA polish so unfortunately I'll let this one go.

✅ China Glaze "Y'all Red-y For This?" - This was 2 coats that went on really well, even with a long skinny brush. It has a nice subtle shimmer running through it. Keeping this one.

❌ W7 "Red Dazzle" - This took 2 coats that dried slowly. Unfortunately it has dried up a lot in the bottle but I think it is a super pretty and opaque glitter polish so I will definitely add it to my rebuy list.

Destash total = 3/10

Eddie noticed the wayh her eyes darted around once she saw his scars, the ones on his face were visible but so were the ones around his neck and hands, the rest covered by clothes thankfully. He waved a ringged hand dismissively, still smiling, "don't worry, I saw that woman you had tro deal with, personally I love gsome good old fashioned devil music I dunno what her problem is." He said with a small laugh before finally setting his items down, there was a few records and a couple tapes, his black nailvarnish was badly chipped and clearly in need of repainting.

He leant his elbows on the counter, she was somewhat familiar, but Eddie tended not to pay much attention to those outside of his groups, unless they were a sheerleader, he had a big soft spot for cheerleaders. "That happen a lot?"

As soon as she heard him speak, she cringed. He clearly didn't sound like a parent and she'd threatened him. Nice one, Sask. Sheepishly, she stood up to give him a nervous smile. Her smile faltered a little as her eyes darted towards his scars a couple of times before she frantically looked elsewhere.

Don't stare, don't stare, don't you fuckin stare. "I'm sorry for snapping at you, it's been a frustrating morning." Her eyes settled on looking into his and his hair, tucking a piece of her own hair behind her ear. She vaguely recognized him, perhaps had seen him around school once or twice or saw him at a party. But if he remembered her? Let the ground swallow her up right then and there.

I'm wearing a new shade of nail polish. I bought it whilst out shopping to match the pink in this dress. It's pretty close, also the colour is so subtle I wore it all day yesterday in drab mode and no one noticed! It's Maybelline Super Stay 7 Days Gel Nail Colour in Rose Poudré & looks fantastic!

From thumb to pinkie on photo 1:

❌ Revlon "Sorbet" - This took 4 coats and still had some slight patches. It's quite a thin formula but dried slowly. A pretty colour but I'll be parting with this one.

✅ Barry M "Mango" - This was 3 coats. It's a nice creamy formula but can look a little patchy. I'll be keeping this.

❌ Missguided "Missmatch" - This took 4 coats and again still looked a bit patchy. It's a thin formula and has a skinny brush. It looks so similar to the previous Barry M one so I'll be getting rid of it.

✅ Nine Zero Lacquer "Jack-O-Lantern Juice" - This took 2 coats for a decent coverage. You do have to place the bigger chunks of glitters but it dries pretty quickly. I like the effect so I'll be keeping.

✅ Models Own "Tropical Sun" - This took 4 coats as it is a very thin formula, it would look a lot better over a coloured base. It dried quite slowly and you can see brushstrokes a bit but I think it's pretty so I'll keep it a bit longer.

✅ Barry M "Papaya" - This is my 2nd swatch of this colour. It was 2 coats but there were still some little patches. This bottle has a wider brush than the previous one so I'll keep it.

✅ Crabtree & Evelyn "Clementine" - This was 2 coats. It went on quite well and has a very subtle shimmer to it. Definitely keeping.

✅ Rimmel "Instyle Coral" - This took 3 coats and still looked a little patchy. It does have a nice wide brush and is a thin formula. I do really like the colour though so I'll keep it for now.

❌ George (at Asda) "Peach Crush" - This was 2 coats and applied quite well. Unfortunately it has gone quite thick in the bottle so wouldn't have much use left so I will be getting rid of it.

✅ Sally Hansen "So Much Fawn" - This was 2 coats that went on nicely. It has a wide brush and a nice creamy, smooth finish. Another keeper.

Destash total = 3/10

Shine on, you crazy diamond! #TheCompleteSet number 24 is this special translucent magenta from @opi in colour Pen and Pink. It's meant to go on top of other colors, though can be used solo as well.
