How many Nazi and Hitler references do Trump and his supporters have to make before some people start to see a pattern? These are neither isolated nor rare occurrences.
This goes back to before Trump even took office.

And who could possibly forget Trump's dinner with a Nazi?
‘Huge Victory’: Trump’s Neo-Nazi Dinner Guest Praises Charlie Kirk For Becoming a ‘White Supremacist’
At the very least, Trump is a Nazi sympathizer. Most Republicans know this but still hitch their wagons to his brand in the hope of furthering their personal advancement.

The nature of time is that (culturally) Christian Euro/Anglo colonial consumers (hereafter white ‘people’) fetishize the idea of being ‘close to nature’ or ‘primitive’ or ‘savage’ and latch on to the idea that there are groups of people in the world who are somehow bestial or who have some kind of special powers from holding animist beliefs/beliefs that acknowledge the body as opposed to the Christian belief that the body is a kind of useless appendage to a person. We see this across decades from the 19thC to today in the racist fetishization of indigenous people across the globe, particularly residents of the Americas, Australasia, and southern/eastern Africa.
White consumers use a warped conception of other cultures to live out the fantasies that the Christian soul/body stuff engenders. You keep getting told that your emotions and physical sensations are the devil’s work? You want to get in touch with those physical sensations, but you don’t want it to interfere with your worldview? Simply project them on to a convenient group of people with slightly different conventions from you. Imagine how cool it would be to be 100% physical sensation (especially those pesky violent and/or sexual urges) and no mental burden, then unleash that in a way that causes millions of deaths worldwide via the dehumanization of entire nations of people just trying to live their lives. White consumers love a Proud Warrior Race Guy.
Flash forward to the 2010s, it’s generally considered impolite to spread the same propaganda that justified the genocide and dispossession of many different groups of people. However white culture hasn’t changed that much and normal human activities still need to be explained away to maintain the veneer of white intellectualism that has been used to justify white violence for years and years. You can’t just stomp around and clap your hands and dance badly, you’ve got to project it somewhere else.
But wait! There’s a community of people considered ‘tribal’ and ‘savage’, considered violent and bestial, who were never colonized! It’s…the Norse. Fetishizing early medieval North Sea raiders can’t be cultural appropriation, see, they’re white! It’s not offensive to replace an entire culture with white (male) ideas of what’s cool if that culture is totally unassociated with colonizer stereotypes and is in fact a culture of colonizers!
And that’s my theory on why there are so many Norse-inspired folk bands/video games/tv shows/memes/literally anything in the 2010s. VSaga not counted because that manga has been running since 2003 and is actually well-researched and comes out of a culture with a similar but distinct tradition of racism. The Euro storytelling tendencies of needing some kind of violent avatar have taken on ye anciente Norseman now that people care a little bit about the gallons of blood used to sketch other ethnic stereotypes. Done and dusted. Except the other side is that the fetishization of early medieval Norse culture is literally just white supremacist 101 and a lot of artists don’t step around that nearly as carefully as they should

My partner just showed me the gods designs form Record of Ragnarok, most of which are hilarious. But this Mjolnr has a sonnenrad or the black sun symbol on it. The sonnenrad is a symbol created by the nazis. Do not add that to any cosplay designs

Do you think Taylor is praised for the bare minimum. I saw a post praising her for her diverse back up dancers when I'm pretty sure others have had diverse back up dancers.
absolutely. diverse backup dancers isn’t even an awardable achievement anymore, imo. it’s so common now that it’s literally normal. taylor just has backup dancers. that’s it. there’s nothing to award her for there.

Something I wont officially decide is fucked up until season 2 drops and we see more of the guys but Ive kind of started to get actually bothered by the way James Gunn made Peacemaker and Adrian Chase, two dudes whos worldview is very much influenced by them both growing up wealthy, like ambiguously middle class at best

living through Hetalia in its peak popularity scarred me I think because I have zero patience left for other fandoms acting up now. Stuff like HP is block on sight. AOT fans get a pass for now but they’re on thin fucking ice

I KNEW THIS WOULD HAPPEN
I knew that the second I saw Hobie Brown get popular again (who is a great character 10/10 don't get me wrong) I'd also start seeing a ton of clowns start saying shit like "Taylor swift is punk actually" and "you don't have to listen to punk music to be punk" and "I love the punk aesthetic but hate the music"
THE CULMINATION OF THIS????
Someone asked me if my battle vest (which I've been working on for years atp) was part of a hobie brown cosplay.
Anyways here are some things about the punk subculture that y'all need to know:
-It is a MUSIC-BASED SUBCULTURE. If you aren't listening to punk music then buddy you ain't punk. Idc what band(s) you listen to but like. That's where the punk culture started man. Do some research.
-punk is secondarily about values. This is why you have Nazis in the punk community alongside hardcore anarchists. Since it's music first, and values second, there's a lot of different mindsets. Primarily it is about being anti-authority. That's what most punk music is about tbh but Nazis are just stupid and will do some fantastic mental gymnastics to make punk music fit their agenda. There's a song called "fuck off Nazi punks" for a reason
-you don't have to "look punk" to be punk.
-you can "look punk" but not be punk (we call these people posers)
Punk as a subculture has a long and rich history. A huge part of it (that often gets ignored) is from small pockets of black people in the UK that were rebelling against systemic racism. A lot of it (meaning the music) is based in revolution, disrespect of authority, and going against the mainstream. That's where a lot of the fashion comes from too. Handmade, shitty d.i.y stuff, stolen stuff, cheap stuff, all of these things are punk fashion because that goes against the mainstream ideal of consumerism and because the founding movements behind it were rooted in lower class struggles against the bourgeoisie. You don't see many genuine billionaire punks. We are not here to look pretty, we are here to smell bad and break shit. And listen to fucking sickass music

vent critical post incoming
white star wars fans, before you start arguing with several PoC in the fandom, stop and think
is your opinion more relevant than theirs,
is your opinion going to invalidate a minorities lived experiences and feelings,
are you just being devils advocate and invalidating their points,
and lastly, is your voice needed in the conversation.
If not, sit down and shut up.
because i've been lectured by a white dude on tiktok about how cosplaying an imperial group with a banner saying the real country of "Austria" as its garrison is actually insensitive to a lot of minorities especially those affected by the nazi regimes, echoing what the OP (a woc) said for being a "sensitive tik tok star wars fan". i've been a fan since i can remember of star wars, and OP had actually been a fan since rotj.
we were subjected to claims that our opinions were irrelevant and the consequences we were saying (isolation of fans who weren't white/fans who are jewish or rroma) weren't real and that we live "under rocks" AND that we were racist towards austrians.
all for saying be mindful of how you cosplay imperials, not that you cannot cosplay them.

Goyim are so angry that they’ve had to pretend to care about the holocaust up until now, and they are so excited to finally have an excuse to stop pretending to care.
They’ve been so mad, so resentful, that we “get” to have the holocaust. Because that’s how they look at it; not as an incalculable loss, not as a trauma that has scarred us for generations, not as something that made our world that much poorer for the loss of whole communities, of diverse traditions and legacies and contributions. Not as a real event that hurt real people.
Goyim view the holocaust as yet another expression of Jewish privilege, as a winning play in the oppression olympics. We “get” to have an irrefutable case of genocide in recent history that we can point to as proof that we still belong to the category of “oppressed” on a technicality. They view it as a card we can play to win arguments, as an unfair advantage that gives us the best of both worlds - we get to label ourselves “oppressed” even though we’re the “real” oppressor, thus securing for ourselves the privileges and advantages of both. They’ve been so angry at us for what they see as cosplaying as an oppressed minority when it’s so obvious to them that we’re the ultimate ruling class. They hate that they’ve had to be nicer to us, that they had to pretend not to hate us quite so much, because of the holocaust. To them, the benefits for Jews invoking the Holocaust far outweigh the disadvantages of having actually experienced it.
They are so gleeful to finally get away with putting an expiration date on the holocaust, to declare it officially null and void. And beyond that, they are positively giddy to weaponize it against us. They’ve jumped at the chance to say with impunity that Jews are the real Nazis, that Jews are the ones carrying out the Holocaust, that we’re fake victims impersonating real oppressed minorities while we’re the ones perpetuating the real oppression. Not only is the Holocaust irrelevant, a thing of the past, it never really existed in the first place.
Too many goyim are way too excited to be able to engage in flat out holocaust denial, to spew as much hatred towards Jews as they want, and not only face no consequences, but be rewarded with a reputation as virtuous and committed to true social justice and human rights.

A while ago I saw a post of someone saying that Vivziepop's Nazi Oc was a joke and... Even IF it was a joke, it's hella offensive! You can't even call it a joke, because no one was laughing. Except for Vivzie... And Neo-Nazis...
The Helluvaverse Fandom is not a safe space for Jewish people.
The fact that crazy fans went out of their way to defend a cosplayer doing blackface... The character they cosplayed isn't even black! The fans still harassed people for calling them out! Even people of colour who were rightfully offended!
The Helluvaverse Fandom is not a safe space for people of colour.
Vivziepop has been transphobic towards trans man and non-binary people since day one. There are multiple screenshots of her misgendering people on purpose. She thinks we're confused and doing it for a trend.
The Helluvaverse Fandom is not a safe space for trans* and non-binary people.
Vivziepop has liked multiple posts about a ship between a r@pist and his victim. Made one of her shows about an abusive relationship and victimises the abuser. She actively fetishises one of her characters and doesn't take his abusive serious. She has also made multiple jokes about it. Medrano also abused her workers, who called her out for it.
The Helluvaverse Fandom is not a safe space for S//A and abuse survivors in general.
Spindlehorse aka Vivienne Medrano doesn't pay most of her employees more than the minimum wage, if not less. She barely credits her artists and threatens them not to work for other animation studios. The merch Spindlehorse sells is overpriced and always limited edition, so they can get as much money out of their fans as possible.
The Helluvaverse Fandom is not a safe space for supporters of small businesses and people who are anti capitalism.
