It is always something that I've been told that is a disguise for fear of commitment and connection. But I say it often to my partner. Not because I'm scared of loving them or being with them for the rest of my life. But because I want to take my time knowing them in ways others don't know them. I want to know them inside and out.

I want to know every scar on their body, every stretch mark, and every beauty mark they might have. I want my hands to be able to memorize every dip and curve of their body. I want my eyes to memorize their smile, the way their eyes crinkle at the corner because they are laughing, and the way they just light up. I want my ears to memorize their laugh, their tone of voice, and the way they say my name as if it's something precious to them. I want my nose to memorize the smell of lavender that they always have when I bury my face into their shoulder.

I want to know what makes them the person they are. And if they change? I want to know them all over again because I didn't just fall for one part of them. But rather, I fell for them as a whole.
