My lover took me to see the decaying salmon in our local creek.

Chum salmon spawn here in the late spring/early summer, and some come back home to die in the late fall/early winter. Whole reserve smells like death. Some of em you can see their eggs spilling out of their bellies. All the water is foamy with repurposed matter. They waded in and I was scared their pants would come out smelling freshly exhumed. Was not the case. My baby always smells like a fresh flower
