Break and fear for my husbands
break: What would cause your OC to break down completely? What do they look like when that happens? Has anyone ever seen them at their lowest? I don't think there's really anything that could get either of them to break down. Even if Nebale lost everything, was hunted by the Empire and physically lost his ability to work (i.e. one of his senses or limbs or something)... He'd get the fuck back up and keep on going without much issue. He'll put himself into debt for a cybernetic replacement if he lost a limb. He'd be fucking pissed and upset if he lost Velico and would seek revenge but it wouldn't break him.
Similarly with Arctus, he's so detatched that he doesn't have much to lose and doesn't really mind. Certainly would not care that much if he lost the shop somehow. Honestly, the worse that happens, the more he shuts it out and is unfazed by it. Hmm, I wonder why that could be.
fear: What is your OC's greatest fear? What do they do when confronted with it? Are they open with their fear, or do they hide it away? Nebale does somewhat fear losing everything, and he'd really rather not be killed. It's not a very strong fear though and, as above, would not shatter him if it came to pass and he'd just keep movin'. I think he assumes the fear is normal/obvious but doesn't really discuss it.
Arctus fears/feared the night when he would lose his soul completely and be wandering the earth as an empty, immortal husk, but he's mostly at peace with it. It can make him angry if he's killed or has to use his regeneration abilities because it expedites the process- I think I told Nyles that him stabbing himself in the chest in Echo Chamber effectively took like 10 sweeps off his lifespan.
But apart from getting angry, he's not very open about that fear and again, is making efforts to come to terms with it and accept it.

The Israeli army is systematically destroying Gaza as its genocidal war on the beleaguered strip enters its 108th day. The Israeli army, after having almost completely decimated northern Gaza, continues to move further south, setting its sights on Khan Younis, the second-largest district in the besieged enclave. The area was initially designated a safe zone by Israel, leading hundreds of thousands of residents from the north to seek refugee in the city. Yet Khan Younis has now already become a shadow of itself after extensive damage and destruction wrought by the relentless Israeli airstrikes. The ground invasion continues the campaign of obliteration, as Israeli soldiers filmed themselves blowing up 40 residential buildings at once with the use of explosives. Earlier, soldier Itamar Bello shared a selfie of himself posing with the mines used for the demolition.
Meanwhile, Israeli tanks and military vehicles are approaching al-Amal Hospital in the center of Khan Younis, the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) reported on Monday morning. As a result, PRCS has lost all contact with its crews in the area.
PRCS later added that the Israeli military was preventing first responders from reaching the wounded in Khan Younis as it intensified the ground assault and attacked the PRCS ambulance center.
Meanwhile, about 1 kilometer away, the Nasser Medical Complex was surrounded on three sides by the military in conjunction with the ongoing Israeli artillery bombardment in the vicinity of Nasser Hospital, Wafa reported.
“This is not the first time. There were several attacks and bombings in the area of Al-Amal Hospital in Khan Younis [in the last few weeks]. We got direct attacks at the Palestine Red Crescent headquarters with artillery shelling, which literally destroyed three floors and killed at least seven people inside the building,” Nebal Farsakh, a PRCS spokesperson, told Al Jazeera. Farsakh said both facilities are under siege and enduring a communication blackout. Ambulances are unable to respond to calls from the wounded in the area. “The situation there is extremely dangerous, they are hearing strong bombing in the area. Anyone who tries to move out or just walk in the street is being targeted,” Farsakh continued.
The medical infrastructure in Gaza has collapsed, with most of the enclave’s 36 hospitals no longer functioning and those still open running far over capacity, according to the World Health Organization. A French field hospital aboard a ship that has been docked off the coast of Egypt, 50 km west of the Gaza Strip, has treated about 1,000 people from Gaza since November.
Reuters reported that the vessel has 70 medical staff and is equipped with wards as well as operating theaters where nearly 120 injured people have been hospitalized, and hundreds more have been seen for outpatient consultations, including follow-ups on injuries and psychiatric issues. However, with over 60,000 people wounded by Israel’s attacks and extremely limited access to healthcare, the field hospital is not enough to compensate for the ongoing attacks and barely functioning healthcare facilities. French Captain Alexandre Blonce told Reuters it is an “unprecedented mission.”

Terrifying Impact of Hamas-Israel War on Innocent Lives in Gaza Strip
Tumblr media
UN Mourns Loss of Over 100 Aid Workers in Gaza - Deadliest Conflict Toll in History! GAZA/JERUSALEM In the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, the United Nations reports that more aid workers have been killed in Gaza than in any previous single conflict in the organization's 78-year history. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) disclosed that 102 of its aid workers have lost their lives, with 27 others sustaining injuries since the commencement of hostilities over a month ago. The most recent casualty, as reported in the last 24 hours, involved a UNRWA staff member and her family in the north of the Gaza Strip due to strikes. This surge in casualties is linked to the escalation of hostilities following the October 7 terror attacks by Hamas, resulting in at least 1,200 deaths in Israel and over 200 hostages. Israel contends that its military operations aim to eradicate Hamas, which it alleges has embedded itself within Gaza's civilian infrastructure. UNRWA emphasized that the aid workers who perished were part of its 13,000-strong staff in Gaza, many of whom lost their lives alongside their families during Israel's bombardment and blockade following the October 7 attack. The victims included teachers, school principals, health workers, engineers, support staff, and a psychologist. As a response to the tragic loss of UN aid workers, UN offices worldwide lowered their flags to half-mast, and UN staff observed a moment of silence to mourn and honor their fallen colleagues. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed that these individuals "will never be forgotten." The conflict has taken a toll on Gaza's population, exacerbating its already dire conditions. With more than 2 million people crammed into 140 square miles, Gaza has been one of the world's poorest places, facing a blockade for the last 17 years. The current siege and bombardment have deepened the humanitarian crisis, causing a near-total collapse of the healthcare system and widespread destruction of neighborhoods. UNRWA, the main UN agency operating in Gaza, is facing challenges in delivering aid due to the blockade on fuel, food, water, and medicine. The agency warned that it may have to halt essential services, including desalination plants and waste removal, due to a lack of fuel. The conflict has also led to damages to UNRWA facilities, with more than 60 facilities, mostly schools sheltering civilians, suffering collateral or direct damage. Despite international law protections, aid organizations, NGOs, journalists, and medics have also faced risks, with at least 42 media workers reported killed since the start of the war. In a recent development, the Israeli military acknowledged carrying out a strike adjacent to a UN building, leading to damage. UNRWA expressed concern that no area in Gaza appears safe, highlighting the disregard for the protection of civilian infrastructure, including UN facilities. UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini emphasized the daily struggles of its staff, who share living conditions with the local population, facing challenges in accessing basic necessities like bread and water. Despite the losses within the organization, the commitment to providing support to the people in Gaza remains steadfast, Lazzarini stated. Palestine Red Crescent Staff Trapped in Al-Quds Hospital Amid Escalating Crisis! The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) is uncertain about the well-being of its staff who are currently "trapped" inside Al-Quds Hospital in Gaza City, according to a spokesperson for the organization in an interview with CNN on Tuesday. Nebal Farsakh, the PRCS spokesperson, expressed uncertainty about the safety of their team, stating, "When I'm talking to you now, I'm not sure if they still are alive or not." The organization, based in Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, has faced difficulties in reaching its teams inside the hospital for over six days. Communication has been limited to high-frequency radio waves, described as "unstable" and prone to "constant distortion." Farsakh explained the challenges, mentioning the complete destruction of internet and communication lines, making direct contact impossible. The approximately 300 patients in the hospital, along with PRCS medical staff, are reportedly unable to leave, with all surrounding roads closed. They are described as "trapped," experiencing continuous bombardment and shooting in the area. Attempts were made on Monday by a PRCS convoy from southern Gaza to reach Al-Quds Hospital for staff and patient evacuation. Farsakh claimed that despite being initially allowed to travel by the Israeli military after a vehicle search, the convoy was later informed that it couldn't proceed due to an ongoing "military operation" in the area. Regarding the Israeli military's statement on Monday that it had killed a group of Hamas fighters "embedded" among civilians at the hospital after being fired upon, the PRCS disputed these claims, asserting, "There are no armed individuals inside the hospital, and no shots were fired from inside." UN Reveals Sole Operational Hospital in Northern Gaza - Humanitarian Crisis Deepens! In northern Gaza, only one hospital is operational, according to the United Nations, due to Israeli strikes targeting medical facilities and the surrounding areas. Most hospitals in Gaza City and northern Gaza are reportedly out of service as of November 13, facing challenges such as power shortages, lack of medical supplies, oxygen, food, and water, compounded by ongoing bombardments and fighting in their proximity. Out of approximately 30 hospitals and clinics in northern Gaza, only one is able to receive patients. Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza City is currently accommodating at least 500 patients seeking shelter. US President Joe Biden has expressed concern about the situation, emphasizing the need to protect hospitals and patients amid Israeli claims that Hamas is using them for coordination. Biden stated, "It's my hope and expectation that there will be less intrusive action relative to the hospitals," noting ongoing efforts to negotiate a pause for dealing with the release of prisoners. National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan also emphasized the importance of protecting hospitals and patients, expressing a shared view with the Israeli Government on avoiding conflicts in healthcare facilities. The context includes Israel's claims of a Hamas command center beneath Al-Shifa hospital, the largest medical facility in Gaza, which Hamas and hospital officials deny. The Israeli military has accused Hamas of embedding itself in civilian infrastructure in the past. Israeli authorities asserted they called for the evacuation of northern hospitals before the offensive, but health workers at Al-Shifa refused, citing the inability to leave patients behind, including those at risk of death. CNN cannot independently verify the claims made by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).  Al-Shifa Hospital Overwhelmed, Staff Burying 150 Bodies as Death Toll Mounts! Al-Shifa hospital in Gaza has tragically transformed into a grim repository for the sick and wounded, resembling a cemetery, according to its director speaking to NBC News today. Amidst ongoing fighting in the vicinity, those trapped within the hospital are grappling with the dual challenge of caring for the living and attempting to bury the deceased, as detailed by Dr. Midhat Abbas. He explained that anyone moving within or around the hospital is at risk of gunfire. Due to the perilous conditions, the hospital staff has been compelled to bury the deceased within the hospital premises as their bodies decomposed, and there was no permission to transport them elsewhere. The limited size of the graves poses a significant challenge as it cannot accommodate all the fallen. Dr. Abbas expressed genuine concerns about the potential loss of lives, particularly among children and the wounded, who remain trapped inside the hospital. The situation has created an alarming and distressing environment for both patients and medical personnel. In a related update, the Gaza Health Ministry reported that Al-Shifa hospital staff are currently engaged in burying around 150 bodies in a mass grave within the hospital complex. This daunting task unfolds amidst ongoing gunfire and bombings around the hospital buildings. Dr. Marwan Al-Barsh, the director general of the ministry, emphasized the repeated warnings against hospitals turning into mass graves and morgues. The spokesperson for the ministry conveyed that the continuous bombardment has hindered the hospital's ability to provide proper care for the wounded, and the death toll is expected to rise. The hazardous conditions, with shells still falling on Al-Shifa Medical Complex, have rendered the situation dire, and no ambulances have been able to reach the complex since Friday. 🐾📋 Nebale and or Mikail
🐾 What is your trolls Lusus? 📋 Mental or Physical disabilities?
why not both
Mikail 🐾 I actually cannot remember for the life of me what his lusus was and I think I only mentioned it once in passing. He had one, at least for the earliest portion of his life, but it died when he was pretty young. After he got scooped up by Gaia he was effectively adopted by another member and her matesprit. Both have passed, though.
📋 He currently has depression. Also insomnia, due to both his depression and Pheira’s curse that she still hasn’t lifted and probably isn’t going to.
Nebale 🐾 His lusus is a fuckhuge massive sixgill shark that lives in the arctic depths. It’s old as fuck and covered in scars. Nebale goes and hangs out with him sometimes.
📋 I’m honestly not sure. I felt like he might have ADHD but he can focus on things fine, he doesn’t get distracted easily/his thoughts don’t wander. I think it’s more that he’s just an adrenaline junkie lol

liiore has a tendency to depend on other people to stick up for him or deal with any tasks he struggles with because that’s really all he knows. velour and aiolos deff end up babying him quite a bit because they know he’s shy and anxious and very sensitive (vel obvs in past tense because they’re no longer on speaking terms), and during his time as an idol he had a whole team of people doing everything for him. they’d give him dietary routines for him to stick to, chaperone him everywhere, plan out his schedule, be his PR manager and protect him from seeing any nasty comments made about him, and everything else a celebrity needs
he’s absolutely terrified of any confrontation too. when he quit being Ocean Star the first thing he did was pay people to wipe as many traces of him online as possible until people eventually stopped talking about him, because he was scared of seeing people hurt and upset by his sudden disappearance, or people getting angry at him for his actions
which is why he’s following nebale around like a lost puppy dog in his thread lmao. he’s scared of him, but he’s scared of angering him or getting confronted by the people nebale angered earlier even more, so he doesn’t know what else to do but do whatever the Big Scary Fish Man tells him to

"Deified" for you know who 💜
Nebale would be a minor god of the sea; A patron of pirates, sea-faring rebels and anyone taking refuge on the water. His domain would also be sea monsters, and he would be a popular choice for a) hope of protection from sea monsters, and b) hope of protection by sea monsters. There's tale of monsters sinking Fleet ships that were chasing rebels, for example.
He doesn't show himself often but he does have a small domain on the mortal plane, just a rocky outcrop with a sort of small castle built into the underwater base of it. He just kinda hangs out there. It's also said if you can find him and entertain him with a good enough story he'll give you a mountain of treasure and/or helpful boons.

Al-Quds Hospital in Gaza City has shut down “most operations” after running out of fuel and withstanding daily Israeli bombardments around the medical complex since Sunday. The hospital, located in the Tel al-Hawa neighbourhood and run by the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS), said it was forced to stop most services “to ration fuel use and ensure a minimum level of services in the coming days”. It has turned off its main generator and is now operating only a smaller generator to provide essential services and two hours of electricity a day to patients and 14,000 internally displaced people who are sheltering there. Its surgical ward and oxygen generation plant have been closed. PRCS spokeswoman Nebal Farsakh told Al Jazeera: “We’re talking about shelling about 15 metres [16 yards] from the hospital building. Most of the buildings around [the] hospital have been almost completely destroyed. The bombings are getting closer and closer to the hospital, and we fear a direct hit to the hospital.” Most of the roads that lead to Al-Quds Hospital have been closed, forcing medics in ambulances to take a single, rugged, unpaved route to reach the injured. “We have about 500 patients inside the hospital. We have 15 patients in the ICU. They are wounded and on respirators. We have newborns in incubators. We have 14,000 displaced people, the majority of whom are women and children,” Farsakh said. The PRCS “has run out of options”, it said, adding that it has been repeatedly warning for two weeks that “fuel supplies would run out if Israeli occupation forces continue to refuse to allow fuel to enter the Gaza Strip”. [...] Bashar Murad, emergency medical services director at the PRCS, who works at Al-Quds Hospital, described the situation at the facility “as the most catastrophic” in the organisation’s history. “On Sunday, Israeli air strikes bombed the entrance of our hospital, resulting in the killing of four people at the entrance and the injury of 35 people, 12 of whom were inside the hospital,” Murad said. He added that half of its ambulances are out of service while its central storage area has been hit and partially destroyed. “We lost all medications and equipment in the storage worth around $5m,” said Murad, whose family has fled to Khan Younis. “I stayed in Gaza [City] as I cannot leave work in these circumstances.” [...] Earlier on Wednesday, a mosque was hit near the Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis in southern Gaza, where many displaced Palestinians had moved after heeding Israel’s calls to evacuate the north. “Just 100 metres [110 yards] away from the [Nasser] Hospital, a mosque – the largest mosque in the area – was completely destroyed in an air strike,” Al Jazeera’s Hani Mahmoud reported from Khan Younis. “What’s troubling about this air strike is it’s in the middle of a busy road – a main road leading to the side gate of the hospital and also a busy market with so many people out there shopping for daily essentials,” he explained. “There’s also a bakery next to the mosque where hundreds of people at least were waiting for bread,” he said. The number of casualties wasn’t immediately known.

⍟ꕥ also for nebale
⍟ any games on their phone? what kind? how often do they play? Nah, he's not super into mobile games. If you try to talk to him about it there's a chance he'll get into the whole 'gacha is just gambling' and then into the whole psychology of gambling addictions and such. (He used to work at a casino, yknow...)
ꕥ what’s usually in their trouser/jacket pockets or purse? A large and heavy-duty folding pocket knife, the kind that could be hit by a tank shell and just need to be re-sharpened after. A few basic carving tools, at least some of the time. Phone and wallet. (He only intentionally keeps money in his wallet, maybe old business cards/coupons/ect. though too)

important!! classical musicians!!! people who enjoy classical music!!! please listen to ‘The Queer Arabs Podcast: Episode 114 Part 1 and 2.’ the podcast talks about the inherent racism and white supremacy ingrained within the classical music community. the episode is based off of the guest star- Nebal Maysaud’s articles about racism in the classical music community. it is super super super important to listen to marginalized voices in such a white- dominated sub-culture, so please educate yourself on this. it made me- an asian woc and classical musician- quite uncomfortable, so it will probably make you uncomfortable too. but that’s how you learn about and face these issues
