Lucien and Nesta living their best pastoral lives out in a meadow somewhere, taking long walks under dappled shade and wearing plain cotton clothes. They have three dogs. Two cats back at their cottage. A few half domesticated monsters in the forest behind their home. Drawn out conversations that last well into the afternoon, books borrowed from the Day libraries, chess matches and some nights where they don't really say a word.

I will never let go of LucNes as two people who just don't seem to fit in anywhere finding a place for themselves and just living peacefully

was it lucnes monster you were working on mayhaps? hope you’re doing well!
I wasn't really working on it. Mostly just snippets of random scenes, but... you can have a short snippet if you'd like.
~
The days after Nesta is changed, she quietly works to comfort her sister. Elain is catatonic and that iron ring lays still on her finger as if it’s permanently embedded in her skin. Perhaps it is... it’s carved there like initials on a tree. How can her human love her now?
Lucien wonders if Nesta feels the same about her humanity, but she doesn’t talk to him about it. Most days, Nesta keeps away from him even as he yearns to take up her hands, pulling her to his body.
He could have lost her. He did lose her in a way. She has longer limbs now and pointed ears and she stands as still as a statue. He can’t even tell she’s breathing sometimes.
But now he has her forever. It pains him to be so selfish, but here she is. The same furrowed brow. The same pursed lips. The same thunder underneath her skin that alights his own every time they touch as sparingly as it may be now.
The only thing that’s different, that goads more than most, is that winged male who is so intent on enraging her.
He flies to the House of Wind where they’ve been sequestered for days, and he puffs up his chest all big and bold, and he pokes and prods and spurs her to movement. Nesta lights up like a bonfire. All smoke and dust. Such bright flames.
It pains him to see this reaction out of her, when Nesta barely even looks at him.
Lucien wants to kiss her shoulder again like he's done to say goodnight. Kiss her forehead to tell her that he's there. Comb her hair into that braid because he knows she likes the feel of his fingers running through the golden brass of her locks. What he wouldn't give to touch her without needing to apologize for her very existence?

Fluffy Lucien x Nesta please
Fishing
Nesta watched as Lucien pulled his tunic and shirt over his head, revealing a body honed by training, his red hair unbound. A faint blush colored her face, as he turned to grin at her.
"Watch this." He headed towards the lake in a sprint, wading in. Nesta, intrigued, observed as Lucien, his metal eye whirring and narrowing something in the lake, stood. His hands suddenly shot into the water with a splash, withdrawing from the lake's water, a fish. Nesta's eyebrows rose, and she found herself grinning at Lucien, who wore a similar grin.
"Impressive." Was all she said, and his grin widened.
"Wanna try?" Lucien blushed as he watched Nesta lift her dress over her head, and gave him a smirk.
"Does that answer your question?"

any gregorian chants recs? (i seriously want to listen to some)
thank you anon! firstly you can get some gregorian chants just by searching for them on youtube (i haven't tried spotify). anyway onto the actual recs, most gregorian chants sound pretty similar and i find that they're best taken in an hour long playlist in a dark room
anyways
i would recommend 'sub tuum praesidum' for your go to generic chant, but a personal favourite of mine is allegri's 'misere mei, deus' even though it isn't really a gregorian chant. it was so loved by the pope it was only played in the vatican for two hundred years or so.
again, not really a gregorian chant but 'gaudete' is excellent if you want something with a more distinct tune
also the angel's hymn, which is the oldest ever carol, dating back to 129 ad
if you're interested in the more christmassy chants, i would recommend the 'verbum caro' plainchant and 'nesciens mater' by jean mouton, both medieval. they're very gregorian sounding even if i'm not sure that they actually are. they're pretty old anyway.
finally, anything by byrd and tallinn is always a pretty safe bet! thanks for the ask, i hope i've recommended at least one thing you'd like

Updated Masterlist
My Ao3 | Link to previous masterlist
Nessian:
The day after the next day - Nesta struggles to let Cassian into her life. Domestic fluff, modern au.
Nightmare - Shaken by nightmares, Nesta goes to Cassian. Angst, post-acowar.
The wrong confessions on a rainy beach - Nesta and Cassian talk after she decides to marry Eris. Angst, modern au but could be read in canon as well.
For you, there’s only love - Nesta reflects on her relationship with Cassian. Tiny little one-shot.
Be the first who ever did - Nesta gets sick and Cassian takes care of her, despite the tension of their loveless marriage. Angst, hurt/comfort.
Nezriel:
A nightlight and a bottle of wine - After she cuts ties with the Inner Circle, Nesta and Azriel strike up an odd friendship. Modern au, at this point the second part is urban legend but could still happen.
Moonlight - Nesta and Azriel talk about her recovery. Canon one-shot.
A rainy night in Velaris - Azriel walks Nesta home after a dinner with the Inner Circle. Fluffy and cute.
Rhysta:
A bitter heart - Nesta’s disastrous breakup with her boyfriend brings her and Rhys much closer, despite their less-than-favorable opinions of each other. Modern au.
Lukewarm coffee, a twinkle in his eye - Supermodel Nesta meets old money Rhys through a mutual friend. Lots of fluff and angst, modern au.
The red flower in my heart - After she cuts herself off from the Inner Circle, Nesta grows curiously close to Rhys. Canon one-shot.
Nesta-centric:
Turning the page, building a home - Nesta rebuilds her life with Gwyn and Emerie. Modern au, cute, domestic, from forever ago but I would like to come back to it eventually.
Evidence pt. 1 | Evidence pt. 2 - Nesta is married, and doesn’t bother to tell the Inner Circle the details. Set in canon and very self-indulgent.
A woman in the walls - Lucien goes to Velaris for the holidays, and is unsettled by Nesta’s absence. Gothic horror, Nescien if you squint.
Other:
Beautiful reflection | Mosaics - In the first part, Nesta leaves Cassian at the altar. Second part is Feyre-centric as she attempts to cope without her older sister, and comes to terms with her fate in Prythian.
Translation into Spanish by @nightsofvangogh !!! BR | Mosaics
Happy nesta | Nesta and mor | Gwynriel broadway au | Lucky

Anyways more Lucien and Nesta
They definitely ride together on horseback like @toast-com said. They'll ride to a shady spot by a stream or lake and Nesta will read while Lucien fishes.
When it's books about Fae topics she'll ask him about it, and Lucien knows now to give her long detailed explanations because Nesta loves deep diving into topics and once went on a week long research rabbit hole on Fae astrology because she just couldn't figure out what any of it meant.
When it's books about human topics she'll tell him everything she knows.
"Did you know in Bharat people believed salt would protect them from Fae so they lined their thresholds with salt and eventually it became custom to..."
"The first king of Scythia only ruled for 3 months because it rained on the day of his coronation and didn't stop for 4 weeks. People believed it was an omen and when..."
"There's a spot in the trade routes called the Siren's Pass that only pirate ships pass through because it's so dangerous, ten years ago 4 ships..."
Lucien is a bit skeptical of Nesta essentially adopting monsters who've wandered out of The Middle but Nesta shrugs and leaves out bowls of bloody meat before going to bed.
(@aho-dapa) Lucien braids his confessions into her hair without telling her. It's an Autumn Court tradition that holding a belief in your heart while braiding your or your loved one's hair will hold that thought there. So he sometimes braids "I love you" and "I want to be with you always" and "beautiful woman" into her hair.
Nesta isn't as poetic but she's there and talkative and she laughs and loves and he feels it. Sometimes he doubts but then, like she knows, she'll hold his hand in bed or bite his shoulder or spend the day with him with her hair loose and curling down to her waist and he'll know.
It's been 67 years since the War and they're doing okay. Twice a week Lucien will winnow them to some obscure eatery in a different court to have Nesta try authentic foods from different Fae cultures. Once he even took her to an Illyrian kitchen of a family he knew.
He's learned to cleave wards (that's how he just winnows into and out of courts without anyone noticing) and he suspects the truth about Helion even if he doesn't say. Nesta does too since she spends so much time with them both it's easy to see.
They're big fans of and friends with Tarquin and Cresseida and are honorary members of his council (before he is voted High King). Lucien plays a key role in building the InterCourts Alliance which implements continent wide laws (Nesta, Thesan and Helion proposed a Constitution) and the Mortal Lands are counted and represented as the 8th Court.
They become actual members of his High King's council around 154 years after the War. Nesta serves one term of 20 years before she decides she likes theory better and dedicates herself to scholarly pursuits instead.

Dark Souls 2, Intro Monologue, Latin Translation
Holy SHIT he plays something other than Ultrakill.
I love the Dark Souls series, and DS2 isn't just my favourite in the series, but also probably one of my favourite games full stop, so I'm doing with it what I did to Ultrakill: Disrespecting it entirely and translating some speech into a dead language.
As before, I'll also be going through some of my liberties and choices after the translation.
Latin translation:
Fortasse viderat, forsan in somnio.(1) Tenebrosam, oblitam regionem. Locum ubi animae mentem aegram tuam sanent. Omnia amittes… …Semel inuris.(2) Signum exsecrationis. Foramen tenebrae.(3) Praeteritum. Posterum. Lux tua ipsa.(4) Nullum significationem habebit, et tu etaim non curabis. Tunc, aliud quam humanus eris Res quae animos depascitur. Cassum. Olim, in terra munita, longe ad septentionem, rex magnus regnum magnam fecit. Credo nominari Drangleicum.(5) Fortasse tibi notum.(6) Minime, quomodo potuis?(7) Sed aliquando, pro portam decrepitam stabit, Nesciens quamobrem.(8) Sicut tinea tracta in ignem.(9) Alae tuae ardebunt cruciate. Iterum atque iterum.(10) Quod fatum tuum est. Fatum exsecratorum.
Liberties:
There's not really any difference (I could find) between "fortasse" and "forsan", but I thought it was important to distinguish between "perhaps" and "maybe".
There are a few words I could have chosen, but "inuris" means specifically "branded with a hot iron", which isn't quite what happens in game.
Augur is a Latin word. I could have used augur, if I were less of a coward. "Augur", in Latin, is an oracle who looks at birds. Not a hole. Words cannot describe how much this irritated me.
I should really have said "your past" and "your future" here, but it was already really wordy because I couldn't find any better words for past and future.
It looks stupid and lazy to slap an "-us" on a word to make it sound Latin-er, because it is. However, for consistency's sake, I had to make the word declinable in Latin, so "Drangleicus" it is. Not that I actually decline it here. Also, I did look for words that end with "-ic" in Latin, but I couldn't find anything useful.
Strictly, this means "perhaps (it is) known to you", which basically means the same thing.
I laboured over this line for a while, and this was the best I could come up with. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
This line follows on from the last, it doesn't really make sense to use a participle with no prior context. I took "nesciens" to mean "without knowing". I also used "quamobrem" to mean why, and I really hope that's "allowed".
This was mostly guesswork.
This does not mean "time after time". It means "again and again". If you have a problem with that, I understand.
And there you have it! Another bastardised monologue from yours truly. If you have any suggestions for other translations, different word choices, or deep-cutting insults, feel free to let me know. Edit: I am but a student, and I must heed the word of my tutors. That is to say, I got in touch with my Latin teacher and had her read through what I wrote. After carefully accepting and tactically ignoring her suggestions, I now present the updated version. It was mostly just some issues with second/third person and correct declension, so it's mostly the same, to my surprise. And now we have the fabled "Drangleicum", which is way funnier anyway.
