1. Persevering in the face of so much fucking adversity with my abundance of diagnoses and handling it all and not falling apart completely (tho i did tire out mentally and physically, hence this kinda-hiatus) and imma count getting my adhd meds and taking them into this one.

2. Writing. I wrote some good things, i think. And made people happy with it. So that makes me happy.

3. Learning how to set boundaries a bit more. Not perfectly but its a work in progress, and learning how to say no a bit more.

is the next movie(s) worth a watch after at world's end? genuinely curious now (and a bit of a crush on henry)

i think so! i joke that the two after at world’s end are “terrible”, but that isn’t necessarily fair... i enjoyed on stranger tides (the fourth installment), and i liked bits of dead men tell no tales. DMTNT is definitely the messier of the two (in my opinion, at least), and most people agree it seems like a shoehorned attempt at recreating the magic of the curse of the black pearl, but it is still a pirates movie, and there’s fun to be had just by the nature of that! i don’t regret buying a ticket to see either, and though i vastly prefer the original three, i’d never discourage anyone from giving the other two a watch. please let me know what you think if you do decide to give them a go! :’)

Hello! I'm a LGBTQIA person who is thinking about getting back into craft (been on and off into it) and I'm not sure if one of the servers would be better than the other (I am 26). Still a beginner and new to everything. Both could also be good to learn from - I just get overwhelmed sometimes with big servers, scared of falling behind or missing something.

Hey there! 

Both servers would be a great fit, the Crossroads server is a lot more social and discussion oriented, whereas the Quareia server is more focused on learning and discussing the lessons, so a bit less social. They’re both on the smaller side, but you can always join and lurk for a while until you decide if it’s a good fit, there’s no pressure to stick around or post a ton if you don’t want to :)

Taking time to be sad is a great thing cause letting the emotions out can help. I understand feeling worthless and not worthy of other people's attention and love. But, you are! Even when your brain says otherwise. I know that's hard. Sometimes venting out the bad voices help in a journal (then throw that trash away) or to a loving ear. I'm here if you ever need anything. And I'm sure Mcree would be too.

Thank you so much, Erin I really appreciate this. It's just extremely hard for me to feel positive self-worth. I thought I was succeeding for a while but I've just relapsed really hard. This is my best guess, it's not perfect but it's as near as I think I can get off the top of my head. I'm just including Arda, I'm not sure of the timeline of his non-Arda stuff like Roverandum except that Smith of Wooton Major is very late

Unfinished Tales is a collection of a bunch of stuff from different periods so I'll admit that putting it here is 100% a personal choice but reading it after reading everything else is what I would personally recommend

The Silmarillion and The Children of Húrin are what I'd recommend putting here - they're both constructed narratives from nearly-finished or half-finished drafts and were published posthumously. The stuff that's in The Fall of Gondolin and Beren and Lúthien is all available in HoME, but those books collect the "best" versions, so I'd say that those specific volumes also go here.

as a driver, hamilton hands down, he is insanely good at every single bloody part of driving. to party/ hang out with - ricciardo, because i'd die if i was near lewis, and danny seems v down to earth.

Do you have any advice for someone getting back into art / just starting digital art and unsure if they have a style? I see people like you and other great artists and want to draw but perfectionism and what if it looks like a third grader's work?

Hey!! I’m sorry It took me a bit to get this.First of all, lets talk about style.  Some people develop an style on purpose, and try to take it exactly to where they want.  Some people (like me) are not very sure about an style, and just do what feels right to them, and try to take their art in some vague directions  of what we like. Some people just don't look for a certain style and just do what it feels right. There's no right way to work an style, just do whatever makes you happy.In any case. this is a good post about developing an style. If you are not sure what sort of style you want to pursue, or just have an idea of what you like, my advice is to make a folder or art you like (be it fandom or classical or just random art from the internet) and see what you like about them, and would you like to get from them. Is the way they use the brushes? How the make the eyes? How they work the hair, the shadows? etc.Most of the time, along with my references or a certain piece I have some art I like the art style to see how they resolve what I’m having trouble with. This is not about copying, is seeing different versions of other people doing what I want to do, and trying to come up with what works for me.Some artist from tumblr I love to check out when working on my own stuff:@alifranco  @vetyr @c-bedford @awanqi @neznemati @jodeeeart Now, for perfectionism. This ir a hard one to beat up, and I'm pretty sure you have read this before but not every piece has to be a masterpiece. Don't try to get everything right from the start. Its kinda hard to get comfortable around doing shitty drawings, or having art you don't like, but its all part of the process. Actually, the more you try to make good art, you get more frustrated.My best advice to get loose and comfortable to drawing is gesture drawing.This is a really good site to practice everyday. 20 min a day, 30 secs figure drawings will do wonders. and a tip? Work with a marker! Its better for quick solid strokes.

It doesn't matter if you wanna work digital or traditional, you gotta be comfortable with your own skills to master them. Getting used with a tablet, PS, SAI,etc is just a matter of time and fooling around with brushes, layers and options.Another this that works for me is to oodle when watching shows, this way, you don't focus too much in fixing or making details.
