Obsessing over the new ingirida / nobokai possibilities in pokemas after the pla update because oh my goddddddddd

Just. Irida hanging out with the twins for a few days in Pasio, getting to spend time with them and even become friends, and realizing that this really is Ingo, but it's not her Ingo, at least not yet. But she doesn't really have any way of knowing what to do about this, and she can't stick around long enough to figure it out. She has to go back.

Irida very seriously taking Ingo's hands in hers and looking up at him and telling him that if he ever finds himself at a loss somewhere and with nowhere to go, come to the pearl clan. Come find her. She'll help him, she swears it.

Ingo finds it a little odd, but she says it so sadly (plus there's a cute girl holding his hands dbkxjske) and so sincerely that he can't really bring himself to ask about it. Ingo nods and tells her yes, ok, he promises he'll come find her someday, they'll see each other again.

And Irida looking as though she might cry as she stands in front of the rift, telling Emmet to please, please, take good care of Ingo, spend lots of time with him... Treasure all of it, don't take it for granted, ok?

now that kieran's champ look dropped, i could finally draw their mjverse designs for indigo disk. there's a 1 year timeskip between the 2 dlcs in my canon so i wanted to make them look a lil different to show that passage of time, ( carmine's not here bc i don't really see her look changing much. )

some info about what juliana and florian were up to during that 1 year gap under the cut! ⤵

JULIANA : after attaining her champion title and helping solve the team star situation, juliana's skills as a battler have become pretty well known around paldea. this new status initially ostracized her a bit from her peers, much like what nemona experienced, but she was able to show others that she was still just as approachable as she was before by tutoring some fellow students that wished to improve their battling skills. she's also realized that she really loves teaching others and is pretty damn good at it, too.

besides battling, juliana has also found a love of art thanks to hassel's art class. if you couldn't find her at the academy's battlefield, she'd most likely be working on a new piece in the art room. as a result, a lot of her clothes have speckled with paint ( like her favorite sneakers. ) seeing her passion for art and hoping to help her hone her skills, hassel took up the position as her mentor and is a great source of encouragement and support for her. juliana has also started dating penny soon after the end of post-game story.

FLORIAN : after getting back to mezagoza from his trip to kitakami, florian was a bit of an emotional wreak ( to say the least. ) he spent well over a month languishing over what happened with kieran, most of it spent moping around juliana and his shared dorm room while listening to heartbreak playlists. the rest was spent coming to the realization that his skills as a battler were still severely lacking. his last battle with kieran was an extremely close call, he only barely won with the skills he had gained during his journey through paldea. with how things were, there was no way he could fufill the duties of a pokémon professor if he couldn't effectively protect the pokémon entrusted to him, let alone himself or others he cares about. he couldn't keep resting on his laurels, he had to work towards improving himself.

so, for the past year, florian's poured himself into improving his battling skills with nemona and his sister's help. while he still isn't on their level, he's become quite the formidable battler. ogrepon, which he's given the nickname "pon-pon," has also become a staple of his team. the rest of his time is dedicated towards studying in the hopes of becoming pasio's next pokémon professor, being the most interested in mythology and terastallization. he still talks to arven frequently after he ( finally ) graduated, along with becoming friends with ortega and atticus. he even dated ortega briefly, but it was very clear that florian was still hung up on kieran so the relationship didn't last long, ( they're still good friends, though. )

when cyrano approaches the cavallari siblings and asks them to come to blueberry academy as exchange students, florian accepts the offer without hesitation. this could be his only chance to reconcile with kieran so there's no way he'd pass it up. juliana is happy to tag along since a school that focuses on battling sounds right up her alley, that and she's still peeved about not getting to go to kitakami. though, she's a little concerned for her brother and what may be waiting for him when they get there.

2B A Pokemon Master on Pasio

Stories have been going around about an artificial island called Pasio, built by a man named Lear. And soon after its completion, many famous trainers and even the likes of Gym Leaders, Elite Four, and Champions were given invitations to the island to see what the island was like and to see what surprise was mentioned in said invitations. And some of those invitations were even handed out to the likes of our old friends Ri and Brandon, who decided to travel alongside their sweethearts Bea and Nessa respectively and even the former Rocket trio, who were now a part of the new Anti-Rocket organization lead by Brandon alongside his Pokemon Professor duties, Team Rainbow Rocket

OKKKKKKK so I love the dynamic of Volo hiding his true nature from everyone on Pasio and Rei being the only one aware.

Consider this: a storyline like the Galar VA with a tournament (PML 2!!!) framing the conflict between them... with the other characters picking a side/joining teams, and possibly the Pasio MC joining Volo's team. Because belief in the power of friendship and redemption and second chances, and all that.

Imagine... Volo teaming up with the Pasio MC, correctly identifying who the protagonist of this story/region is, just so that he can be on the winning team. Jacq and his new bestie. N, who can't help but be convinced by how sincerely Volo's Togepi loves him (though he's on the fence about it, like he was with Ghetsis.)

Rei teaming up not only with his Hisuian friends but people like the Galar protagonists/rivals. Silver, who can recognise Bad Vibes. The potential for such interesting teams.... especially with that rule they set up a long time ago that we can't have the same team-ups as in the first PML.

Also I have been thinking of something like this since DECEMBER guys. Volo wasn't even in the game yet XD

Pasio was an exciting place of endless battles and meeting of raw, new talent and old, carved ability. To be invited out there by Cynthia was no small thing. Ultimately, you knew it was an attempt on her behalf to drag you out of the strange stupor that you had been in since returning from your disappearance. Many downright refuse to believe your explanation as to what happened.

You supposed it was quite fantastical, but when a man had quite previously tried to recently force out two legendary pokemon with control over time and space to do his bidding, you felt it was not so impossible to believe. A few had believed your tale, at least. Among them being Cynthia, naturally. The archaeologist simply understood many Sinnohan myths and legends. Your story simply seemed as another case of being spirited away — Especially when you mentioned Arceus to her.

Something that you had admittedly hesitated to do. It was not out of any malice or mistrust, but something born out of fear. In Hisui, there was something that would never fail to haunt and pain you. Cynthia unknowingly bearing his eerie resemblance and interests. Without a doubt, she was of his bloodline. Their relation would never be in doubt. You wondered truly if she knew anything about him, but records were not exactly so common during that time period - especially when coming to people like him.

Volo...

His gentle kindness during your most vulnerable moment. His hand reaching out to you when everyone else had turned away from you. You had tried to rationalise it as purely manipulation, but there was still a certain genuine kindness in those eyes of his. In truth, he would have still obtained his goal either way. Forcing out the legendaries had been his original plan before settling on the plates, after all. Yet, he changed his mind. You so desperately wished to solely hate him, but that felt impossible. Somehow, seeing Cynthia once more made it even harder to do. Someone who bared his blood was a person who found justice and supported the order of this world — Even stopping another who held similar plans to Volo's own.

Was there a time in which Volo could have been like Cynthia? A time when justice and trust existed in him. What had happened to him? What were those painful, heartbreaking things that had made him as he had been when you met him? Those answers would only elude you. You had left Hisui back to the era you originated from, after all. It was unlikely Volo left any information like that behind. Those feelings had made it more difficult to acclimate back to this world of disbelief around you.

Yet, you supposed you would admit joy. Pasio was a nice change. It was exciting and constantly filled with events. Many people had come to your acquaintance on the island. The battling style mostly demanding friendships and bonds to be made. Cynthia was never too far from you, either, seeming keen to take some responsibility for you. Her concerns were never subtle. She truly had worried about you as you pulled away from the world. Her belief and trust were only so much when you felt your heart ache when the pendant on her coat caught your eye. The ancient Sinnoh people… You had half a mind to ask her for information—As if she held any or would be willing to share.

But, you forced yourself. She was far too worried, and you felt bad for doing that to your friend. Cynthia had nearly burst into tears when she had first seen you after your return. She had been doing some kind of expedition work at a ruin sight in the cave of Mount Coronet. Her shock when she saw you stumbling down in your Survey Corp uniform had never left your mind. She had rushed over, dropping over whatever was in her hands to grasp you — to confirm that you were real and not some Ditto transformed or Zoroark under an illusion. A hug was next, naturally. It was relieving to see someone so plainly care for you. The both of you were close friends, after all. (Another reason Volo had such an easy time with you.)

Pasio did bring some strange nostalgia — or, perhaps, hope alongside despair. The very rifts that had tormented Hisui during your stint there had come to the present, and with it those from that very same era. Adaman and Irida were shocked to see you again, but happily greeted you, clearly having your departure still fresh in their minds. The Diamond clan leader had thrown an arm around your shoulder and joked about how different you looked, while the Pearl clan leader rolled her eyes at him. Both further aided your story — most doubt had faded. The two were shocked that anyone doubted you before realising that many had doubted you in Hisui, too. Rei and Akari having come, too, was a shock. Both telling you how much you were missed. Cyllene apparently was still not entirely over how you had departed, while Laventon had apparently teared up. You felt a bit bad.

Cynthia was shocked by all the friends and relationships you had built within Hisui. She even had asked you why you had decided to leave back to the modern era — especially when Akari jokingly called you the Hero of Hisui. To learn of all you truly faced, she was certainly mortified. Her questions about your newly obtained scars now feeling a bit cruel. She was frustrated that you had not opened up to her still. It stung to be unable to tell her as to why. Only Rei met your gaze knowingly, having also seen that side of Volo. His shock at seeing her was imprinted into your mind. The resemblance made it far too difficult at times. It almost felt as if you were dealing with the man himself. Yet, you felt grateful to see everyone again. The horizons of Pasio felt far brighter as you spent time introducing those of the past era to the modern one.

You almost felt yourself moving past all the trauma…

Then, as you stood at her side on stage at the stadium, a familiar visage sent a terrifying chill down your spine. He spoke as he always did — The very picture of amicable and good-natured. Yet, his eyes met your own, and only you saw that dark flicker buried within them. Your hand found Cynthia's sleeve to clutch onto as you shrunk into her side. There was likely something pitiful in how you looked, but you did not care. He was pretending as if he had not threatened your life and tried to alter this very world into something he desired. Even hearing the voice of Arceus again was enough to make you want to run off. It felt as if it were all happening again. Rei had turned his gaze back to you as you tried to hide yourself away from the world.

Cynthia clearly had some questions, but did not ask them. Yet, Volo had apparently confronted her and lit up some kind of fire inside her due to his style of battling apparently being better than her own. She had pleaded with you and Rei to help her train — simply refusing to be weaker than him and desiring her strength as a trainer to continue to grow. You both had agreed to help, but your reason was mostly due to not wanting Volo to do as he pleased. The thought chilled you to your core. His plans… You doubted you could understand them outside of wanting Arceus and its power. No matter how he acted, his goals were simple.

So, you thought.

While walking alone through a forest in order to clear your head from everything, a hand had come to grab your shoulder the moment you stopped to think.

“Boo!”

You had nearly jumped out of your skin.

That voice…

Volo stood behind you — his smile as genuine as it ever would be. He brought back his hand and readjusted his hat. “Don't you remember when I taught you the backstrike technique? It was only a few months ago for me… How long has it been for you?” his tone changed from something nostalgic to eerily serious, “You clung to that so-called champion… I hadn't even had a chance to speak with you alone yet.” You wished you could call for Cynthia right about now. Volo towered over you, as he did most people.

There was no one else around. It was just the two of you barring wild pokemon. They would do nothing to save you if something went south. Your own pokemon was on you, but you wondered if they could surmount the team Volo no doubt still carried.

He was silent, clearly still wanting you to answer his question. You swallowed. “… About the same amount of time has passed for me,” you could not meet his eyes. Why was that the first thing he asked? A sigh left him — It was of relief or annoyance was unknown.

“… You left,” he said simply, “Arceus took you away just as quickly as it had you spit out of a portal.” You tensed up as he unexpectedly came to hold your chin. His eyes stared into yours with an unreadable feeling. “I searched for you. I had wished to speak with you again,” they only seemed to grow darker with each word that left him, “Perhaps, this is a second chance in various ways, no?” You were soon pressed against a tree. “My feelings for you… I was not so forthcoming, was I?” You swallowed, not sure where this was going. “I had chosen far too harsh words, hadn't I? You and I were so similar… Staring at you, I saw myself, and it made me far too emotional. But, I noticed that you were the same even here. An outsider.” Your breath was caught in your throat. His smile almost felt mocking.

A thumb stroke your cheek while his other hand came to grasp your hip.

“… I love you,” he said simply, “I am deeply jealous that you cling to that woman like that… I do not care if she comes from the same bloodline as I.” Why did your cheeks burn? This was always what you had wanted to hear — before he had revealed his true nature. If he had confessed during your plate hunt… You felt tears burn your eyes. He wiped them away. His expression was serious. This was not a mocking attempt or some cruel action — These were his genuine feelings.

You shoved him away somehow — likely because he let you — and ran away. Cynthia was shocked when she came to check up on you at your lodging. You had been crying for hours thanks to these complicated feelings. Why? Why could you not just hate him? Why did you feel so relieved when he had told you those things? There were no answers. You could not answer the blonde's questions as she asked what had happened. Biting your tongue, you simply said it was just a memory from the past. She did not entirely believe you, yet she said nothing to further push you.

It was much to your shock when the Arc suits situation happened. Cynthia overpowering Volo should have given you more ease, but his smile — That damn smile. You could not even admit your concerns that this was all part of some grander plan by Volo. Your suspicions being confirmed felt sickening. Cynthia was so unaware. You needed to be alone again.

It was then that you saw him. The isolation of the beach. You had not expected him to seek you out. No words were immediately spoken, he only came to stand at your side. The full moon hung above you both, shining with a bright silver glow. The sound of waves was the only thing preventing an awkward silence. You felt lost.

“… Chosen by Arceus…” you mumbled. Those three… Blessed. Lucky, you supposed. Your chosen state by Arceus had not been so peaceful. Their struggles… A hand came to rest on your back. “… I understood what you were telling Cynthia… It's cruel to mock people like that.” The mentions of wielding pokemon to fight for survival… She was so truly luck to not know all that pain you had faced. This impossible to surmount wedge had existed between you both since you had returned. Something that she could truly never understand. Was that why those from Hisui had put you so at ease?

You turned to look at him. It was impossible to hate him. His words… Seeing himself in you. An outsider. You would never have a place of belonging anymore. The deity expected you to rise to this occasion. Perhaps it even planned to deign you with your own Arc suit. You doubted it. You clung to Volo, burying your face into his shoulder. The waves sounded so distant as you wept. He only held you without a word being uttered. Your emotions felt far too strong. Nothing would ever be clear again, would it? Was this some kind of punishment? A test? Is this how he felt? You supposed you understood why he wished to remake this world even if you would never support such an ideal.

“… What… What horrible things have you faced?” you finally asked the question that had bugged you for so long. His expression was far too solemn.

“… I don't think there is anything to gain in telling you that,” he said simply, “… You didn't tell her despite your suspicions towards me, did you?” You shook your head. A sigh left him — again, unknown if was out of relief or annoyance. “I love you,” he repeated those words again. You tensed up. But… you felt less conflicted this time. For so long, you had sat on those words… Love… His initial question of how long had passed of you. He searched for you… Now, he was here as you suffered through further conflicting things. When again you were left alone, he showed up to extend a hand to you.

And once more, you would take it.

“… I love you, too.”

It finally made sense why you could never truly hate him.

His hand rested on your cheek as his lips pressed against your own.

Scheduled from early to mid-June is the return of the Ball Guy event. A Legendary Gauntlet and an Ultimate Battle are also coming.

New battle content is currently under development. The objective of this battle content is to inflict as much damage as possible to the opponent within the time limit. The grade and rewards you receive at the end of these battles will be determined by how much damage you inflicted. The order in which you attack, strengthen yourself, and weaken the opponent will be vital to dealing more damage. The battles will switch periodically and feature opponents with a specific weakness each time, so you can use a variety of Sync Pairs!

Happy Spookiween! - October Magma Drawings!

WELL WELL WELL I may not have a full art piece, but I DO have...some new sygna suit designs! These were done for @choochooboss 's spooktacular magma! We were tasked to do some sygna suits, and I was HYPED to participate! Sadly...the prince of pasio will have to wait for his flashy outfit...but as compensation, have Hoopa dressed as Lear! (He absolutely stole the shades.) Hope you all enjoy these! Check out below for the concept sketches for Ingo and Emmet!

Sygna Suit Ingo & Chandelure! I'm sure many have done the idea...and I wished to do my own interpretation of the concept! Though, I was almost too shy to do it. Thankfully with enough encouragement from friends, I was motivated to bring this idea to life!

Sygna Suit Emmet & Shiny Hisuian Zoroark! Now THIS was something many didn't expect! Inspired by the chats and brainstorming myself and my close friend would have, I ended up doing an initial idea for a simple outfit inspired by the pokemon a few months back! Now, with the magma, I was inspired to take that simple concept and just dial it up to eleven! I was nervous that it wouldn't be just as cool as the design for Ingo, but I'm glad it didn't end up being the case!

If there’s one thing that pokemon masters showed us with the interactions between the MC and courtney it’s that courtney is an incredibly lonely person. It’s implied the friendship she sees with the player character on pasio is heavily one sided, many of the dialogue choices you can make scream of discomfort by her mere presence- and yet she thinks of you as one of her closest friends, right up there with Tabitha and Maxie (and that’s not even talking about the fact she speaks so highly of her friendship with Tabitha when we can also see in their interactions TABITHA IS ALSO KIND OF UNCOMFORTABLE AROUND HER-)

I can not be surprised that this woman has heavily obsessive tendencies, she has absolutely no real friends- she’s latching onto even the tiniest bit of friendly interaction like it’s a new discovery, hanging onto every little word said to her in a casual manner, a few minutes of small talk being enough to solidify someone as her best friend because she’s never had anyone outside of her team to call a real friend

There’s a new sync pair on Pasio, and they’re throwing everything Lear knows into question. Like whether a god can have a friend, and if a human is worthy of such a title.

I've been working on this since January, and it's finally done! A fic where my two favorite duos meet and have the craziest dynamic. I hope both Lear & Hoopa and Arceus & Damos fans can enjoy this story!

now, I am fully aware of Rei being the Protag as almost all male Characters have been confirmed Protags in Masters and I do think people that make out such a minority in the fandom definitely deserve the rep and time to shine! And I am so happy for them! Really hope they do him justice and make the event interesting! Also so very happy PLA still gets some love. I did enjoy ScarVio and Ogerpon from the DLC has become a favorite instantly but PLA needs so much more love than it has gotten. The game, Rei, or really any character deserves so much more love!

Akari is still my personal headcanon and given how loosely things are in Masters and Pasio (Masters is basically a big fanfic where time and space don't really matter and only loosely plays with Canon of the games. (Villains such as Ghetsis or others wouldn't just be allowed to squad in a base with Grunts and regularly try to take over the island and would be behind iron bars) we shouldn't necessarily see it as canon too much if people have different views. Or there should be bigger age gaps between the characters....) I do think it's more a thing to get a few headcanons for your faves! Just like the personalities added to Ingo and Emmet.

And a fun side fic with Ingo and Akari getting sent to Pasio instead of getting home sounds fun. Or they stumble into a distortion. The joy of seeing loved ones only to realize its not their loved ones is definitely interesting too. Pasio-Barry has temporarily two Dawn best friends and Pasio-Emmet temporarily has two big brothers. Or instead of getting contact to Arceus they try to get in contact with Lear and get Hoopa's help or something like that. (I want Akari to play a prank on Lear) And the times random weirdos enter the Villa for a random request raises again! Would definitely make something fun on the side. But I'm sure rn you already got enough projects at hand!

oh definitely! I'm not saying this towards you, I'm saying this in general to agree with what you said, because it appears a lot of people are upset with Pokemon Master's decision to make this 'canon'.

I think people need to understand that this is a canon - it's canon to Pokemon Masters, but that doesn't mean it's the concrete canon to PLA, as we know that Pokemon Masters is definitely not canon. But this is how Pokemon Masters is doing it. I definitely see Rei as the canon protagonist in Pokemon Masters, 100%. But I've written so much fanfic with Akari as the protag, that like you, she's my headcanon protagonist in PLA.

I always favor pokemon's game canon, because the games' canon always caters to the individual's headcanon to who's the protagonist. Marketing and advertising are a different story, and Pokemon Masters tends to lean with what those pick as protag (and it does seem marketing did favor Rei as the protagonist for PLA). But the games favor the player's choice to make it more personal.

So I'm seeing a lot of people getting upset over Pokemon Masters' decided canon when they can simply ignore it if they do not like it, because its a canon for a spinoff that happens to match some people's headcanons while it disproves others. But it's not the canon for PLA as a game.

(Whew, said 'canon' so many times, that it doesn't even look like a word to me anymore!)

I ALSO AGREE THAT I'M HAPPY PLA IS GETTING MORE REP. Pokemon Masters is what's keeping it fresh and alive in the games department, and I appreciated that SV did what it could to keep it relevant in a game that I really didn't expect to see it in.

AND YOU ARE CORRECT! I indeed love all of your ideas, but I have so many WIPs that are so close yet so far haha. Once they start coming out though and I get them done, I will perhaps be open to some new fic ideas. Let's see if these PLA events in Pokemon Masters inspires anything!

Ingo

Introduced in 2021, he debuted in All Aboard the Victory Train event.

Emmet: Brother, battle partner. The perfect duo, they are inseparable and unstoppable in battle.

Elesa: Close friend. It's hard to describe, but they get along great. The three of them are like a set of triplets.

Lear: Acquaintance. They met once and made a business deal to build a new battle subway on Pasio.

Clay: Business partner. They made a deal to use his tunnel system for their new subway.

Steven: Business partner, friend, object of admiration. Steven looks up to Ingo and Emmet. Ingo and Emmet look up to Steven. They made a deal together to givr him any fossils they find in exchange to use his tunnel system.

Roark: Business partner, friend. They made a business deal together to use the tunnel system.

Barry: Beloved challenger. Ingo looks forward to see Barry's full strength. Barry intends to defeat him in battle someday.

Dawn: Acquaintance. They know her, but they haven't spoken to her outside of the time they first met.

Cynthia: Acquaintance, object of admiration. Ingo and Cynthia have heard of each other, and have wanted to battle each other for a long time. They finally met on Pasio, but the outcome of the battle was unknown.

Wally: Acquaintance. They've met once, and Ingo fought him and Cynthia alongside Emmet.

Hilda: Beloved challenger. Hilda is one of his strongest challengers, and they have battled often. However, she has yet to defeat the subway bosses.

Nate: Beloved challenger, "student" figure. Nate is one of Ingo's strongest challengers. They partner up to help each other out when needed. Ingo and his brother have been invaluable mentors to Nate on several occasions.

Darach: Mentor. Ingo trained under Darach to learn how to be a better butler.

"books-are-my-life-stuff: Oh no it doesn't, because Lear's story is already done a long time ago. His SS event served to remind us that Lear has all the riches he ever wants and despite that, he knows that things he can gain from money is temporary and replaceable, while the bonds he made with his friends and Pokemon are forever. It's an event that reflected how his arc concluded, along with other characters that directly impacted to his growth such as Cheren.

So yeah it doesn't add anything new, just reflecting and looking back on how far Lear has gone, and I think that's very fitting for an Anniversary event, in my opinion. Somehow his event felt more anniversary-like with his mission (while dragging MC, Paulo, and Tina along) to collect 1000 photos that showcased the bonds of trainers in Pasio. It's a very fun event."

That's fair. It's not a bad concept.
