So after years of umming and ahhing, that post going around from time to time with the youtube quote “this will take three years/the time will pass anyway” made me get a spine and buy a drawing tablet

I really fucking enjoyed art as a kid and teen, but the nature of the art program in my high school sapped it from me and I set it aside a long time ago

Today I bought a tablet and made an attempt

(under the cut because my ability to shade and blend with a tablet is GARBAGE so far)

guess the basics stuck with me

(it’s barely been an hour since my first post and this blog is getting real emo real quick. I swear I sometimes say things that are thoughtful or funny, but my gremlin brain has decided that if we’re gonna talk to strangers on the internet, we’re gonna open by oversharing. forgive me. and I hope you like it.)

I’ve met wonderful people over the years. friends who are no longer friends, closest confidants who carry my secrets somewhere far away from me the same way I carry theirs. there’s a lot of thing I’ve wanted to say to them. things in retrospect, something I wanted to say when I knew we were meeting for the last time, or even something I could say to them now, but I don’t have the guts to.

these words will never be spoken aloud, so instead of letting them rattle around like ghosts of the past haunting the abandoned house that is my skull, I’ve written it all down, and I’ll be posting it here as a type of cathartic release (yeah, yeah, I know, get therapy. believe you me, I am trying.)

this collection is called ‘I wish I could’ve said’. maybe some of you can relate to it (not the specific events, but the specific emotions of nostalgia and wistfulness), so be on the lookout for it.

We know what it wasn't a big secret to the cult of Bhaal what their Chosen (Durge) is a lil (a lot) obsessed with the Chosen of Bane.

Orin def told everyone who would listen about it, as Balthazar's note on "Prayer for Forgiveness" might imply.

But have we thought about the other side of this?

How many of Bane's servants present at Gortash's coronation saw Durge and went "Ugh, not them again. ANYONE but them. Dark Lord Bane, we serve you well and do not deserve this".

How many of banites had to watch their Chosen act like a lovesick fool at his own coronation and tried very hard not to cringe?

Like bhaalists were not pleased with their Chosen's affections, but I bet Gortash was INSUFFERABLE with Durge by his side.

random thing i noticed while going through the character bios again: wally's bio now gives information about how his puppet was handled

there isn't any kind of sneaky wording here that would imply he was operated different from the others either, as frank is described the exact same way in his bio.

if it's true that wally WAS in fact puppeteered by someone and wasn't running around the studio by himself like some horrible gay homunculus, he was most likely puppeteered by ronald dorlaine, the creator of welcome home. wally is kind of the "kermit" of welcome home, and kermit was puppeteered by jim henson until his death in 1990. kermit was also referred to as henson's "alter ego" at times, his co-stars saying that it became hard to tell where kermit ended and henson started at times.

i think clown's mentioned the relationship between a puppet and their puppeteers being a topic explored in welcome home at some point (one of these mentions was pre-overhaul, so i'm not sure if it's still true), and has stated that there are going to be more human characters introduced. and since welcome home takes a lot of inspiration from the history of the muppets (and is why we need more horror media written by people really autistic about the topic covered), and "dorlaine" sounds so similar to "darling", it's possible wally may have been ronald dorlaine's "alter ego" in the same way that kermit was for jim henson.

i don't what what any of this implies or if any of this makes sense. i went on this whole rant because of one line of text. is anyone reading this. did anyone see that gnome run by. its so dark in here
