Robin, who was taking your hand and giving it a gentle squeeze. “Hey Eddie!” she said with a grin, stepping up next to you at the bar, giving the bartender a warm smile, and when he tapped his finger against his cheek, she leaned over to put a kiss right there. “This is Y/N. Our new neighbour!” “Ah, so that’s the one you’ve been talking about,” Eddie said with a grin, levelling his dark gaze on you, tilting his head to the side, a few curls falling into his face from the bun he’d put all his hair in. “Yeah, I told him that you’re really sweet and that I took you under my wing, since you don’t know anyone here.” Robin gave your hand another squeeze, assuring you that she hadn’t said a word about your little secret. “Well, it’s a pleasure to meet you, sweetheart, you’ve got a really good one there to show you around.” Eddie winked at you, before he was called to the other end of the bar. “Tell me what you wanna drink when I come back.” “I should have warned you, I’m sorry,” Robin said with a giggle, wrapping her arms around your upper arm, looking up at you like this through her lashes. “Eddie is just like that, but he doesn’t know. I would never tell anyone.” “I know… I know, just…” You shook your head taking a deep breath. Somewhere between being called princess and being faced with the most interesting man you’d ever seen, you’d definitely lost your words.

18. Most traumatic experience: um, only one? I'll have to go with the time that I was in fifth grade, and my so-called "friends" started chanting "we hate (my name here)" during recess and got the whole grade to march around the playground chanting it with them. Sandstorm dying solely to further alderheart’s pissbaby manpain made me so upset. alderheart in general just pisses me off… him and tree were both just so blatantly written to steal the arc from their she-cat counterparts lmfao (sparkpelt, sandstorm, needletail, violetshine). that’s it, that’s their purpose… similar to rootspring and nightheart. I just can’t enjoy characters whose purpose narratively is to shove the she-cats to the wayside… it happens so much in this series already

yeah 😔 it's the repetition of the archetype and the context around it that gets me- on his own, alderheart is just "guy i don't really care about", same with rootspring and tree, but the more i sit down and think "hm, why are the male characters in the series written this way and the female characters written this way? why are events ordered in a way that constantly shifts attention and sympathy back towards the male characters?" i start to get mad about lots of little tiny details, which in turn make egregious things like "arc 1 legacy character getting unceremoniously fridged by dying in a ditch somewhere for a pittance of character development her boring grandson while all of her male counterparts get comparatively way more respectful or impactful deaths" even worse somehow.

"Nice boy ed" came up with this essay written by Esther Newman wherein Ed is referred to as a "nice boy" but she doesn't have any romantic feelings for him, and she subsequently discovers she's a lesbian.

The essay is talking about 'the life you lead,' specifically the life women lead. The author talks about the heteronormativity and misogyny that she dealt with in school and society at that time. Women who step out of those bounds are deemed as crazy. Heteronormativity is very pervasive and oppressive. Heterosexuality is the only way, and it's a form of social control.

She specifically talks about women authors and artists, and how they are also deemed 'crazy' if they don't fit into these roles. She mentions multiple women who were diagnosed with schizophrenia for wanting to carve their own path in life, who were not subservient to men, and who were not straight, and how the oppression of society made them 'crazy'.

niceboyed is so emblematic of the gaylor experience. So Joe really is a nice boy . . .

I’m curious your thoughts on Niceboy Ed. Is it really Joe’s friend Ed or have I just been listening to the wrong Tumblr blogs for all these years? The fact that Taylor immediately yanked it from the show pre-set list makes me think Joe is involved somehow. Maybe?

Remember how Joe said he has a group of 6 friends in London, and that they have been friends since they were 12? Niceboy Ed is one of Joe's lifelong mates. And he has a normal life in London. He is a normie.

This whole music thing was just a side quest. Think of it as a hobby, something he did for fun. I don't expect him to want a career in music anytime soon.

uggh me too! I think it's ed. cause idt it's joe's voice at all. I feel it's ed. idk his profession but it actually could be ed. cause they had a band or something when they were younger. so fingers crossed! I think the lyrics could be joe! I really hope it is him! I wanna see more of his musical side. cause he plays the piano and brass guitar (and does hulla hoops ) AND WRITE GREAT LYRICS (and stories too!) and now they are hanging out with justin vernon!
