Mink Mussel Creek, the psych-rock project of Tame Impala frontman Kevin Parker, former Tame Impala member and Pond frontman Nicholas Allbrook, and Pond member Shiny Joe Ryan, have reunited. The band originally formed in Perth in the early 2000s, issuing one album, Mink Mussel Manticore, in 2014. Over the weekend, Parker uploaded a photo of the band in rehearsals on the Tame Impala Instagram account, with the caption, “Gettin the band back together.” Pitchfork has learned that Mink Mussel Creek are rehearsing for a to-be-announced one-off show.....~

Approx 300 copies pressed, with an unknown quantity destroyed by the label. Most copies have printed labels, a small amount of test pressings existed that were sold at the record release show. Some copies were given away with no sleeve some of which had an A4 colour insert. Listening for the first time to the 13-minute opener, the sprawling They Dated Steadily, it's impossible to ignore the acid wash rock'n'roll heydays of the 1970s, the years Led Zeppelin were at their peak, Neil Young was in his prime and long-haired hippies were dropping like flies. It's a time Kevin Parker, as well as teammates from his other bands Nick Allbrook (Tame Impala, Pond) and Joe Ryan (Pond) and a couple other chaps reflect fondly upon through this seven-track album.
