Rotgoc characters and their red flags(joke post)
Jack Frost/Nightlight: Regularly says things that makes him sound like an entity failing at being a person.
Katherine: Spaces out so hard she accidentally gives the thousand yard stare to poor clueless people
Tooth: Gore is nothing to this ancient being. Blood is just added spice to her.
North: Doesn't know how to be around children despite adopting a random kid he found in the woods
Bunnymund: Thinks mint tastes like toothpaste
Sandy: Ready to knock a child out with his bare hands
Ombric: Groundhog day-s people because he thinks he can exact karmatic justice like its a fucking regular Tuesday
Manny Lunanoff(Mim): Leaves people on read too much
Mother Nature: Daddy issues, and can cause a natural disaster if she feels like it.
Pitch Black: he is the flag but is very self aware.
Sergy Lermantoff: Was okay with dating an eldritch being.
Krampus: Thinks hes above the naughty and nice list because he sleeps with Santa.

North is next!  Powerswap / Guardianswap AU designs
~~~
Technically his full name is Nicholas North, but in the movie they only ever call him "North" so... I just went for that as his first name.
North Frost has a trapper hat and a traditional Kosovorotka Russian shirt. Decked out with iceswords.
North Redbird... uninspired name, but... he's based off a cardinal. His wings aren't transparent and glassy because his size is so massive. His wings are large and feathered that act like a cape. His swords are made of steal, silver, and real gold.
North Hare. A mix of a dutch and english spot rabbit. His swords are made from carved wood.  North Sand. His dress is based off this https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:01_012_Book_illustrations_of_Historical_description_of_the_clothes_and_weapons_of_Russian_troops.jpg https://russiatrek.org/blog/history/russian-civilian-and-military-clothing-in-the-14th-18th-centuries/
A Russian coat and cap for a warm night's sleep.
North Black. A general of Nightmares in a traditional Cossack uniform. His preferred Nightmares are bears.
you know of the gut instinct that just tells you something is just wrong?
do you think that spirits have them? im on the edge because of the fact that they are spirits and myths ect ect.
pitch must have a really good gut instinct tbh, with him being fear itself and the gut feeling being a primal form of fear or confusion, he must be really in tune with it.
with people like jack frost i think he wont have a gut feeling at all, or maybe a little but not much and not strong at all, he is dead and thus he really wont need it even though it could be helpful.
north says that 'he feels it in his belly' a fair bit so maybe its the same thing, but he also uses that term when its something positive which is normally what the gut instinct doesnt do yk?
Guardians of Childhood - The Great Time Travel Adventure (A GoC fanfic)
(Spoilers from previous books ahead!)
Summary:
A new Golden Age had arrived. Pitch was gone for good and Kozmotis had returned. The Guardians could finally live in peace now. Jack had returned to the little hut in the middle of nowhere that belonged to his adoptive brother together with Katherine, his girlfriend, and Jacklovichs children; only leaving when duty was due. North, Bunnymund, Toothiana, and Sandy had returned to their domains. But the peace finds an end when all of sudden events from the past seemed to change. Where is Father Time? Why wasn't he preventing events from being changed? The Guardians once again stand in front of a mystery that needed to be solved. A most uncommon adventure through time itself begins to find and save Father Time from the Dark Forces that try to keep him from doing his duties...
Tumblr media
Chapter 1: In which Kozmotis finally awakes and a Pooka is happy
Kozmotis opened his eyes. He struggled to keep them open, blinking several times, as the environment blinded his eyes. Around him, there stood somebody that, at first, he couldn't quite make sure of whom it was. After blinking few more several times, he could tell it were, in fact, and to his own surprise, the Guardians, clustered around him like a group of people that held a funeral. Kozmotis was, it seemed, the victim they mourned. But he wasn't dead, no. That, Kozmotis knew despite the fact that it all felt like a weird dream right now. Seconds later, he could make out a slim figurine with raven black hair that wavered behind it and a dress as green as the grass that grew at spring awakening.
It slowly drew closer and made its way toward him, it almost seemed like it was not touching the ground at all — it was floating! It bent down and knelt in front of him, and finally the fallen man could sense a familiar face and a voice so angelic and mesmerizing that it made him instantly know he was indeed kept in a safe place. Kozmotis' still blurry sight slowly faded away when he felt his head being softly and slightly lifted up in the air by two small hands ever so slightly. The face, the hair, the dress, the voice... it all belonged to someone Kozmotis held very dear in his heart all the time. It all belonged to his daughter, Emily Jane. "You're back...", said Emily as she pressed her forehead against the one of her father's. "I can't believe it. You're really back".
Tumblr media
Kozmotis Pitchiner and Emily Jane (Illustration by me)
Her amber eyes became all watery, tears flowing down her cheeks, her usually so pale skin suddenly flushing in red colour. Kozmotis smiled upon her with happiness filled face, now moving his hand, the one that used to be his by Nightlight's bright glow injured hand, over toward Emily's in tears soaked face, caressing lovingly down her cheeks and wiping away her tears like only a loving father could. "It's okay, my dear daughter. It was about time, wasn't it?" answered Kozmotis and chuckled. The black haired woman nodded and chuckled in unison with him. Then he finally managed to get up from the snowy ground, wondering why not a single snowflake had touched his body — the snow lay all around him, and yet, there was not a single sign of a snowflake resting upon his body. However, Kozmotis shook his head and realised he was still watched by the other Guardians that had encircled him earlier.
🔸🔸🔸
Katherine, who stood right next to Jack and Kailash, having changed her age back at exactly eighteen years old, watched the father-daughter unity with great happiness as did the other Guardians. Her with excitement filled face drew a smile upon Kozmotis' as well, and Kailash let out a joyful honk. Oddly enough for himself, even the grumpy Pooka couldn't help a slight grin growing on his mouth. His whiskers twitched rapidly in an excited pace.
North had to bite his lips to not release an amused laughter as only a man upon his size of statue could when seeing the Pooka this 'happy'. Bunnymund rather avoided showing any kind of joy in public. He, in fact, rather avoided to show any happy emotion at all unless it is in some way connected toward eggs.
"Come on, grumpy rabbit. I know you're happy. Don't be afraid to show some of it - make it more... obvious!" mused North while raising one of his bushy eyebrows and slapping Bunnymunds back with his strong hand that had 'Naughty' tattooed upon it's arm. It made the Pooka release a small oof and stumble slightly forward due to the rather harsh impact. "Careful, old man. Your words do not find any apply to me" huffed Bunnymund in complete awe. "Awwh, is the grumpy rabbit becoming soft?" mocked North the Pooka. Bunnymund's nose began twitching — he would say something very inappropriate right now. But that is not in the known manner of the Pookan brotherhood so he let go of it and instead insisted on changing places with Toothiana who hovered right next to Sandman which made North's amused smirk grow even wider.
He loved teasing the rabbit man. And deep inside, he knew that the Pooka liked, and maybe even enjoyed, North's jokes too; he just didn't like to show and or admit it.
So because tumblr won't allow me to ask @frosted-night a question, I'll just post this and hope he reblogs. Some people think Krampus is the son of Hel, the norse goddess of death. Krampus may be related to a fucking norse god, making him more op than both pitch and mim. What do you think is North's reaction when he found out that Krampus' mother is Hel? Oh and if krampus isn't related to hel whatsoever, how did krampus get people to think he's Hel's son?
The Rotgoc fandom is no stranger to misconceptions, like somehow saying Jokul Frosti is Jacks norse counterpart when Jokul n Frosti are two seperate spirits etc. You guys know that I'm sure.
One that nags at me is the notion that Jack Frost and "Father Frost" are the same person or spirit. In my research for the Christmas spirits, I've learned quite a bit about Father Frost, and its very clear that he isn't Jack. Father Frost is North, or related to him.
Father Frost comes from a Russian Folktale that goes as follows;
A stepmother orders her husband to take the stepdaughter out in the wilderness to die. The girl is freezing at the foot of a tree and Father Frost appears. Instead of fearing him she's said to be nice to him despite her circumstances. Touched by the girl, Father Frost dresses her in warm fine linens to keep her warm and gives her a chest full of gems. The Stepmother sends her husband to fetch the girls body to bury and to his surprise the girl is just fine. Stepmother is enraged but curious how the girl got such nice things. So, she sends her own daughter out in the same place the stepdaughter nearly died in, to get the same valuable stuff. Father Frost appears but the girl is rude to him, probably demanding the same things as her stepsister. Insulted, Father Frost punishes her by allowing her to freeze to death.
Moral of the story is don't be greedy ig. So whats the connection to North? Father Frost sounds more like a winter spirit than Santa right? Ehhhh kind of. Father Frost is based off of the Slavic counterpart of Santa, Ded Moroz(This is the Russian spelling of his name.) Ded Moroz is said to be either a winter wizard, snow demon. Back then he was mostly called "Morozoko" or "ded". He was reformed to resemble more of Santa around the time of Soviet occupation.
Now, the early iteration of Ded Moroz could resemble Jack Frost, why the literal translation for his name is Grandfather Frost. However, just because Frost is in his name doesn't mean they're related. Ded Moroz resembles Santa more these days or St.Nicholas...so who's Ded Moroz?
Keep in mind I'm not Russian or Slavic, Eastern European countries have differing versions of Santa/St.Nicholas that could just be aliases for North. A reasonable assumption is Ded Moriz is an alias for North. I suppose if you stretched it maybe Ded Moriz could be seperate from Jack or North but due to the evolution of Ded Moroz's character it makes it hard to split him from Santa.
Regardless, I can kind of see why some would tie him to Jack Frost but if you read more about Father Frost/Ded Moroz, it's pretty clear the two barely have any association.
Reviewing all Rise Of The Guardians related media
I found as much media in this franchise that I could (I know there’s some more that aren’t available anymore, like the apps) and I’m here to give my opinion on all of them. Even if I gave something a low rating, I still love and cherish it as a part of my collection!
There’s four sections: movie tie-in books, online comics, Guardians Of Childhood, and miscellaneous pieces of media I can’t sort easily
Movie tie-in books
The Art Of Rise Of The Guardians
        Setting - 4 stars
    Plot - 3 stars
        Engagement - 5 stars
        Characters - 5 stars
        Style - 5 stars
        Enjoyment - 5 stars
        Overall rating - 5 stars
        Recommendation - 5 stars
I love the concept art book so much. I find it very interesting to see how movies are made, especially animated ones. All of the different details and story elements and decisions are so cool. I had to do a double take on them calling Jack a 'hunk' that's so funny. And the art is just so gorgeous!
Guide To The Guardians
        Setting - 3 stars
        Plot - 2.5 stars
        Engagement - 4.5 stars
        Characters - 5 stars
        Style - 3.5 stars
        Enjoyment - 5 stars
        Overall rating - 3.5 stars
        Recommendation - 4 stars
I love fun facts so much! Each guardian gets a section w/ information, and an activity to do. I really like it! It's my second favorite of the movie-tie in books! Has trading cards with even more fun facts! (I found high quality pictures of the cards from GoldenDragon on DeviantArt, if you wanna take a peek at them.)
Hidden Truths and Other Stories
        Setting - 3.5 stars
        Plot - 5 stars
        Engagement - 5 stars
        Characters - 5 stars
        Style - 4.5 stars
        Enjoyment - 5 stars
        Overall rating - 5 stars
        Recommendation - 5 stars
It has two original stories:
Monty and Jamie discussing their experiences with the Guardians before the events of the movie
How the elves came to work for North!
Getting something from this world that I haven't seen before was so fun and exciting! My favorite of the movie tie-in books!
Hidden Truths:
   The story of Jamie and Monty is really cute. Jamie keeps a book to keep track of the magical things that he sees. Monty shares a time when he was at a boys scout camp and got attacked by a stray dog, only to see ice appear out of nowhere.
With Friends Like These:
    The elves are funny, and North and the yetis reaction to them is hilarious. They help North, and he decides to let them stay.
Worlds Of Wonder
        Setting - 2.5 stars
        Plot - 1.5 stars
        Engagement - 4 stars
        Characters - 3 stars
        Style - 3.5 stars
        Enjoyment - 4 stars
        Overall rating - 3.5 stars
        Recommendation - 3 stars
I actually really like this. The play-set is cute and the little booklet gives some information about all the characters. It's something that I would've adored as a kid. It’s got a mixed rating bc it’s a pop-up play-set with mini paper cutouts of the characters, not a story. It’s a bit hard to rate with all the others.
Rise Of The Guardians: Movie Novelization
        Setting - 3.5 stars
        Plot - 3 stars
        Engagement - 3.5 stars
        Characters - 4 stars
        Style - 3 stars
        Enjoyment - 3 stars
        Overall rating - 3.5 stars
        Recommendation - 3.5 stars
It's not as well written as I hoped it would've been, but it isn't a terrible read. Overall, I like it, but it does change, add, and exclude lines that were in the movie. Some changes I like, some I don't. It's not bad, not good.
Just meh. If you're a fan of rotg, you'll enjoy it well enough.
Jamie To The Rescue!
        Setting - 3 stars
        Plot - 3.5 stars
        Engagement - 3 stars
        Characters - 3 stars
        Style - 3.5 stars
        Enjoyment - 3 stars
        Overall rating - 3 stars
        Recommendation - 3 stars
It's a cute illustrated version of Jamie's view of the events of the movie. It’s a picture book for children, I can’t really enjoy this in the way it was intended to be read, because I’m not a kid. I like it, but it's not my favorite by a long shot.
The Story Of Jack Frost
        Setting - 3 stars
        Plot - 3.5 stars
        Engagement - 3 stars
        Characters - 3 stars
        Style - 3.5 stars
        Enjoyment - 3 stars
        Overall rating - 3 stars
        Recommendation - 3 stars
It's another cute illustrated version of Jack's view of the events of the movie. I like it, but it's in the same category as Jamie To The Rescue! in terms of kid books that an adult is reading.
Rise of the Guardians: A Deluxe Pop-Up Book
        Setting - 4.5 stars
        Plot - 3 stars
        Engagement - 3.5 stars
        Characters - 3 stars
        Style - 2.5 stars
        Enjoyment - 3 stars
        Overall rating - 3 stars
        Recommendation - 3 stars
It's fun to see the events of the movie in an interactive book! But some of the art is... just not very good? It's fine for the most part, but then Jack's eyes are suddenly in two different places and the characters look uncanny. Overall, I like it but the art leaves much to be desired.
Made In The North Pole
        Setting - 2.5 stars
        Plot - 2 stars
        Engagement - 3 stars
        Characters - 3 stars
        Style - 2.5 stars
        Enjoyment - 2.5 stars
        Overall rating - 2.5 stars
        Recommendation - 2 stars
It's fun, but it's just screenshots from the movie and pngs with related text
Not a lot of effort was put into this as other books and it shows. It's cute tho, definitely a kids book meant for children.
Rise Of The Guardians: Mix & Match
        Setting - 2 stars
        Plot - 2 stars
        Engagement - 3 stars
        Characters - 3 stars
        Style - 4 stars
        Enjoyment - 2 stars
        Overall rating - 2.5 stars
        Recommendation - 2.5 stars
Not my favorite but I can recognize that I am not the target audience for this kids book. Probably my least favorite personality.  It would be fun for a kid though, the interactive element is good but overall it's not the best. It's just not for me.
Online comics
Learning To Fly
        Setting - 4.5 stars
        Plot - 5 stars
        Engagement - 5 stars
        Characters - 5 stars
        Style - 5 stars
        Enjoyment - 5 stars
        Overall rating - 5 stars
        Recommendation - 5 stars
I like how he sees how the world works and learns from it. It shows how smart he actually is, and how much he had to learn in those 300 years. I also really like the panel where he is looking up at the birds. Very cool. Just Jack flying with a flock of birds is really cool.
Spring 1968
        Setting - 4 stars
        Plot - 4.5 stars
        Engagement - 5 stars
        Characters - 5 stars
        Style - 5 stars
        Enjoyment - 5 stars
        Overall rating - 5 stars
        Recommendation - 5 stars
This art is just GORGEOUS. Short and sweet, although I do wish we got to see more about the blizzard of '68. You just know Jack is laughing in the background somewhere. I seriously cannot get over how pretty this comic is. I want this art tattooed on my SOUL
Cat Nap
        Setting - 4 stars
        Plot - 5 stars
        Engagement - 5 stars
        Characters - 5 stars
        Style - 5 stars
        Enjoyment - 5 stars
        Overall rating - 5 stars
        Recommendation - 5 stars
This is so adorable I can't even. Sandy's attempts to entertain the cat and the cat just not having it. Short and sweet and it's Sandy and a cat. What's not there to love?
The art is gorgeous. So cute!
Winter Spirit
        Setting - 3.5 stars
        Plot - 5 stars
        Engagement - 5 stars
        Characters - 5 stars
        Style - 5 stars
        Enjoyment - 5 stars
        Overall rating - 5 stars
        Recommendation - 5 stars
Jack making snowmen for a group of kids. Adorable. Also, new Jack outfit besides his colonial one and modern one. I love how the snowmen glow with Jack's magic it's such a cool detail. Jack making things fun for a group of bored kids is so on brand. Very cute and fun!
Pitch Black
        Setting - 5 stars
        Plot - 5 stars
        Engagement - 5 stars
        Characters - 5 stars
        Style - 5 stars
        Enjoyment - 5 stars
        Overall rating - 5 stars
        Recommendation - 5 stars
Pitch gets offered to be a Guardian, but he refuses and takes offense to it. It's so interesting to see Pitch being more friendly to the Guardians, especially because this is the moment that started their fight. I love the different lore here. The books by William Joyce would've never had this happen. (Also ties in super well with Johane Matte's unofficial comics. I recommend reading those as well. This is her tumblr and this her deviantart)
Guardians of Childhood
The Man In The Moon
        Setting - 4 stars
        Plot - 4 stars
        Engagement - 4 stars
        Characters - 4 stars
        Style - 5 stars
        Enjoyment - 4 stars
        Overall rating - 4 stars
        Recommendation - 4 stars
Very cute. The drawings are amazing. The story is obviously simple, but it's a bit awkward trying to fit Pitch and the lore in there when the story is mostly about MiM making a smile on the moon’s surface and balloons.
The Sandman
        Setting - 4 stars
        Plot - 4 stars
        Engagement - 4 stars
        Characters - 4.5 stars
        Style - 5 stars
        Enjoyment - 4 stars
        Overall rating - 4 stars
        Recommendation - 4 stars
Different from the novels, but still good. Very cute, and the art is gorgeous. Golden Age/Pitch stuff was less sudden and awkward.
Jack Frost
        Setting - 4 stars
        Plot - 4 stars
        Engagement - 4 stars
        Characters - 4 stars
        Style - 5 stars
        Enjoyment - 4 stars
        Overall rating - 4 stars
        Recommendation - 4 stars
Very cute! Pretty art. Less confusion about the Pitch/Golden Age stuff, mostly because it was at the beginning as set up rather than just shoved in the middle as a long paragraph on one page.
Nicholas St. North And The Battle Of The Nightmare King
        Setting - 4.5 stars
        Plot - 5 stars
        Engagement - 3 stars
        Characters - 5 stars
        Style - 3.5 stars
        Enjoyment - 3 stars
        Overall rating - 4 stars
        Recommendation - 4 stars
Cute, whimsical. We see the very beginning of the Guardians- hints at Santa and Mother Goose. Start of the relics, the macguffins of the series (more on that later.)
E. Aster Bunnymund And The Warrior Eggs At The Earth's Core!
        Setting - 4.5 stars
        Plot - 5 stars
        Engagement - 3.5 stars
        Characters - 5 stars
        Style - 3.5 stars
        Enjoyment - 3.5 stars
        Overall rating - 4 stars
        Recommendation - 4 stars
I liked this book more than the first one. We set up Emily Jane, we get more characters, and the world is expanded on. I liked how Bunny is a dork, how Pitch's weapons absorb light, how Pitch touching Nightlight turned his hand human. I do wish there was more on Bunny's negative feelings towards Pitch, seeing as he did kill Bunny's people, rather than Bunny not really caring at all.
Toothiana Queen Of The Tooth Fairy Armies
        Setting - 4.5 stars
        Plot - 5 stars
        Engagement - 3.5 stars
        Characters - 4.5 stars
        Style - 3 stars
        Enjoyment - 3 stars
        Overall rating - 4 stars
        Recommendation - 4 stars
I wish we had more on Tooth's character. I love her so much. This book frustrates me because all of the other Guardians’ homes get exact locations, but Tooth's is just "Asia." Like where? Tooth's home is only implied, and it sucks. Plus, she's the only POC in this cast, and she's a bird. The book itself was okay (ignoring the orientalism). I liked some of Tooth's backstory and the build up to meeting Emily Jane.
The Sandman And The War Of Dreams
        Setting - 4.5 stars
        Plot - 5 stars
        Engagement - 4.5 stars
        Characters - 5 stars
        Style - 4.5 stars
        Enjoyment - 5 stars
        Overall rating - 4.5 stars
        Recommendation - 4.5 stars
I liked the full backstories and the pay off for Emily Jane, Nightlight, and the relics. It feels tied with the previous books. I don't like how rushed Sandy's parts are. Also the kiss thing is just weird. I love Emily Jane's character, wish we got more of her as Mother Nature. I liked how Sandy got blisters from the nightmare shield, it's reminiscent of his death in the movie. I liked it. Favorite book in the GOC series.
Jack Frost The End Becomes The Beginning
        Setting - 4 stars
        Plot - 3 stars
        Engagement - 3.5 stars
        Characters - 3 stars
        Style - 3 stars
        Enjoyment - 3 stars
        Overall rating - 3.5 stars
        Recommendation - 3.5 stars
This book is a WILD ride. But definitely a better read if you aren't expecting it to be like the movie at all. The ending was good. I liked Shadowbent. It's inconsistent with the other books, it retcons a bunch of things. Like the relics. They aren’t important anymore just because. This book has unnecessary details and tangents that could be cut out (or even just shown, rather than told) because they do not add anything to the story. Joyce should stop using real historical figures in this book. Jack's staff is alive, btw. I'm still not over that. Or that Tumblr sexyman Jack Frost, Elsa's boyfriend or whatever, is besties with Winston Churchill (????????????????)
Miscellaneous pieces of media I can’t sort easily
I'm gonna be completely honest here: this game is a low effort cash grab. It’s a movie video game, my expectations are low and it met them. It's enjoyable if you like beating things up, but the gameplay gets repetitive quickly. I liked it well enough played it twice even but I wouldn't say it's the best. The game looks much better (better graphics, gameplay, voice acting, and multiplayer) on Wii/PS3/Xbox 360, I just don't have those consoles.
The art style is a 3D version of William Joyce's art style (which is fine but gives me Coraline book cover vibes.) The bowler hat is apparently the boogeyman's, which is hilarious (because Joyce wrote the book that became Meet The Robinsons.) VERY early concept of this universe, used to pitch the idea to Dreamworks. It's funny how the core concept is there, but how different it is to both the movie and the books. It's alright, I do find it more interesting than entertaining, because of how much the concept changed. Can't have William Joyce without the robots.
For the @rotgsecretsanta prompt: [No Ship] Reverse AU - Guardians as villains, Pitch as a hero (feel free to add book characters) !!
I hope you like it!
I made this... darker than it probably needed to be, but in this AU, the Man in the Moon chooses spirits of evil to sew discord on the Earth and bring misery to children. Pitch / Kozmotis alone, stands against them.
As for why there are two Tooths? I made two designs and could not decide between the two of them!!!! So I decided to polish up both for the heck of it.
I tried to fuse some of their book designs into this AU to give it a nice effect. For more info on each character, click below!
Jack Frost
Harbinger of Misery
Jack Frost is a sorrowful, dead-eyed young man who brings misery and dread wherever he goes. He has no memory of who he once was, but he focuses more on the fact that whoever he was, all his friends and family have long since died, and he will never see them again. As he is a spirit, he has no hope of making new friends or family, and the other Harbingers are too stuck in their own heads like himself to really pull him out of his spiral.
A chill follows his path, and those touched by his cold winter frost become ill, lethargic, and depressed upon contact. He is always frowning and dreadful. Other times numb tears stream down his face. His sighs put down everyone around him, as though a heaviness fell on their shoulders and chest. His magic makes people immobile and weak. He seldom flies anywhere; he can’t bring himself to do anything other than walk, slowly trudging through towns or overseas, creeping his way across continents, with rolling storms in his wake. Children are urged to stay indoors to stay away from frost-bitten fingers and toes.
~~~
Pitch Kozmotis Black.
Guardian of Courage
Pitch is a war hero who died protecting his daughter; he fused with the darkness, that of which, is in complete control. He wields the power of both dark and light, freely traveling through shadows and singeing enemies with his sword of light. He has utilized his powers to change the Sandman’s Nightmares into Dream creatures to protect children, making the world a better, more beautiful place in honor of his daughter’s memory. Pitch uses his powers to inspire bravery and courage within children to face their fears. He pretends to be a monster lurking in the shadows, and when a child stands up to him, he recoils playfully. He makes the children feel powerful when such small creatures like themselves are able to scare away a shadow demon. Pitch knows the fears of every child in the world but also knows what it will take to get them to overcome that fear. Pitch is the only acquaintance of Jack Frost. Jack initially wanted nothing to do with the man. But Pitch knows deep down, all Jack really wants is help, friends, and a family. Pitch believes Jack can change his center if he finds the courage, and the meaning, to do so. Pitch himself often finds himself lonely and longing to see his daughter once more, so he understands Jack’s misery. Pitch wants to help Jack see that new friends and family are possible, and that heartbreak later should not prevent you from seeking relations out in the now.

North
Harbinger of Triviality
North is more Krampus than Santa Claus. He is soldier-like and does not understand the joy of guessing what is in a present since it will probably be disappointing. He rations his food, a habit he continues from his Cossack days, and hates the taste of sugar. He only eats meats and bread, often dried and tasteless. He is a boring old man who only finds interest in power, territory, and wealth. He cannot stand misbehaving children. His large frame and horned fur hat make him terrifying. It is rumored he “punishes” the children that misbehave around him, though what those punishments are, no one is never sure. His elves act as his servants and his yeti are fellow soldiers.
~~~
Tooth / Toothiana
Harbinger of Trauma
I made two different versions/designs of Toothiana and I could not decide which one I liked more.
Teeth hold memories, but some memories have teeth. Some memories are best left forgotten. Memories repressed are taken by Tooth’s fairies, and stored in her shabby mountain palace in cages and caves. As a child, she had been locked away for ransom from her rich family. The incident ended tragically, and she had never managed to get over it.
1. This version of Tooth never leaves her home. She feels safest in a cage to keep her safe, and enemies out. She sends her fairies to collect traumatic childhood memories. She thinks she is doing good by collecting children’s bad memories, keeping them away until the child encounters a similar situation. She activates the teeth when she thinks someone needs help. Repressed memories bubble to the surface, giving the owner anxiety from the trauma they endured. Tooth only wants to help. She thinks they will be safer. She thinks forcing them to relive their memories will prevent them from taking risks, from doing uncomfortable things. She is a Queen of her Palace, overwhelmed by the duty she thrust upon herself. Her color scheme is cool-colored like her movie version, to inspire calm within herself and others, though it seldom works.
2. This version of Tooth WOULD leave her home. With a dentistry tool belt strapped to her waist, she would hunt for the teeth herself instead of letting all her fairies do it for her. She has the same motivations and reasons behind version 1, but her design is closer inspired to the lone warrior she was in the books than in the movie. Her color scheme is more warm-colored, which makes her come across as bright and dangerous.
Bunny
Harbinger of Despair
Bunny, being the last one of his bunny tribe, was selected as a Harbinger over his absolute despair. No matter what he does, he can never seem to gain a green thumb. Every plant he cares for dies, no matter how hard he tries. Even for those who do succeed, Bunny sees that everything that lives, lives only to die. It breaks him. Eggs in his care rot and spoil. His sighs make everyone and everything around him wither. Children feel like giving up or going into a fit of sobbing. He feels lost and unsure what to do with himself. In his fit of despair, he works tirelessly, creating machines and robots that will never die. He surrounds himself with stone and metal. What he seeks is eternal life. Any children that come in contact with his machines are overcome with worry over the prospect of death. They panic over one day losing their loved ones. Over losing their support, for they are dependent and powerless. They forget that life is a cycle of endless giving, taking, dying, and birthing. They drown in their own despair, just like poor Bunny, who lost his family young and is the only remnant left of his species.
~~~
Sandman / Sanderson
Harbinger of Nightmares
Sandman is a small, creepy little man that naturally produces Nightmare sand, and forms it into deadly creatures under his control. Not only does he prey upon your fantasies while you sleep, but he also targets your life dreams. Your goals. Your desired careers. He shatters them, making children feel self-conscious and inadequate. He makes those dreams appear far away, beyond their reach. He is why children grow up complacent and confused. He is, essentially, a unique twist in an accumulation of fears.
