This species isn’t in any of my books. Little help? :)

This is a bird’s nest fungi! This term is used to refer to fungi in the Nidulariaceae family, as they resmble a small nest-like cup filled with ‘eggs’ (capsules of spores).
This is a member of the Nidula genus, based on the sharp angle of the sides and grey-brown colour. You would expect members of this family to have small, matted hairs on the outside surface, but I can’t see if that’s the case from these photos.
Most likely an older specimen of Nidula candida or Nidula macrocarpa - the grey peridioles (spore capsules) make me think the former, whereas the smoother appearing sides make me think the latter.

Bird's Nest Fungi at various stages of development. Seems most similar to those of the genus Nidula, potentially Nidula candida. Growing off decaying Sitka Spruce limbs.

Bird’s Nest Fungi!
Spotted what I believe to be a Bird’s Nest Fungus (Nidula niveotomentosa) on a trail in Goldstream Provincial Park! This species is abundant in British Columbia and is usually found in moss or on old wood, such as this old railroad track!

∴ I came across a large patch of Bird’s Nest Fungus all together on some dead branches & wanted to really capture the eggs that reside in the nest. I was super stoked about finding some with the eggs still in the nest & the one behind it is just about to break open as well. I’ve searched all my books then the internet trying to ID this guy. I believe it may be Jellied Bird’s Nest Fungus (Nidula Candida), these are no bigger than 1.5 cm tall; 0.8 cm wide. ∴
