I don't wanna make it seem like everyone is supportive but him but this is Bi-Han. He's going to judge

I see the Lin Kuei as private and not really interactive when it comes to normal citizens so I honestly don't know what to say for them 😭

Kuai Liang initially says no and has the same “this is beneath me” thought process, but he folds easier. There's certain things he is absolutely not doing though

He wants to be as stern and serious as his brothers but we all know I babygirlify him so it's not happening

Idk why but I feel like he's a Twice stan so he's no stranger to pop music. I have no reliable sources for this 

I could see him buying pins and keeping them in his pocket since he can't have it on his outfit 

I don't think for any of the brothers, your fans would know you're dating which is something they'd want. They're assassins. They can't be all over the internet. 

Doesn't go to concerts because he can't. Such a sad life

Does Zaterra or Outworld even have popstars? For comedy sake, imma say not exactly 

He was ran out of Zaterra and he was working for Shang Tsung, so even if they do he had no time to actually enjoy music 

So when he hears you're a popstar, he has no idea what you're talking about. You have to genuinely explain what your job is, what you do, what's a tour, what's merch, etc. etc. 

Like the Lin Kuei Bros, he has no phone. He doesn't understand technology at all. He's like a grandpa fr, so his interactions with your music is slim to none when it comes to music videos 

Explain it to him as many times as you want. He doesn't get it. 

You have to actually show him the video on your phone. You have to show him any merch you have so he can pick whatever he wants and you can sneak it to him 

Prefers you singing for him live rather than watching a music video but he watches them anyway because you're really proud of them 

Like Tomas, he likes little pins or other little trinkets 

Since he was in a traveling circus, he knows what performing is but you're getting paid and treated fairly which he finds fantastic 

He is slightly worried tho from his time being in said circus. You have to explain that they're two different things (sorta, not really) and you're ok 

Has no idea what's going on but is supportive anyway

He tries really hard to understand Earthrealm customs and culture to better understand you. Is he successful? Probably depends on the subject 

He doesn't get merch at all or why it's so stupidly expensive. If you weren't giving it to him for free, he probably wouldn't buy it to be honest. He likes that you're proud of how it looks but why is it necessary for success? He just doesn't understand it 

Concerts he somewhat gets. The idea is cute but once he sees videos of people fainting, he swears he's never going to one of those 

Does not want your fans to know you're dating him. Does not want to be in any of your videos as himself or a lizard. Wants nothing to do with the spotlight. He has trauma with being known. 

It'll take awhile to explain to him what fan culture and memes are, but he's ready to learn for you.

I don't think there is a definite love interest, but it does seem to be leaning towards a certain character hehe (and no its not Cole unfortunately). The next book has only recently been made, so I have the upmost confidence that it'll be regularly updated, since the first one was too! Book 1 had around 250 pages I think. I PROMISE. You will wanna read it.

Extra: You know the drill, it's set in a generic "Revived Morro Lives w/ the Ninja" AU, between Seasons 10 and 11.

"So, how's my costume?" Morro asked smugly.

The Ninja stared silently. Lloyd's mouth was open in silent horror.

"You're all speechless, I count this as a win."

"No, Morro," Kai muttered, a horrified quiver in his tone, "We are not speechless in a positive way."

The green face paint on Morro's face wrinkled into a frown, also shifting the contour that made his cheeks look deathlike and hollow. He adjusted the collar of a ragged gi fashioned after the one he wore as a ghost. His badly trimmed nails scraped at the bandages, which were stained to look realistically dirty, and patches of fake blood were visible on certain parts of them.

All in all, it was a terrifyingly accurate Halloween costume of his ghost form.

"...is there something wrong with it?" the ex-ghost cosplaying as himself questioned.

"You dressed as your dead body," Nya deadpanned.

"No, I dressed as my cursed soul," Morro corrected. "Samuel is dressed as my dead body."

"W-who's Samuel?" Jay hesitantly asked.

Out of seemingly nowhere, Morro brought a plastic skeleton with a burnt crude version of Morro's gi, along with a bad wig of Morro's hair. "This is Samuel."

Lloyd broke into hysterical laughter, causing the Other Ninja to giggle as well.

"FACE UP 2002" Part 1: Takamasa Suga (page 5)

Suga: The location we filmed at today was so cold. The wind near the ocean is so strong…man! I was shivering. I want to apologize to the staff for the times I wasn't able to speak, or when I kept giving NG (no good) takes. Furthermore, today was already the beginning of Spring, so I already feel out of it. "Wow! Are you serious?" is what I kept saying (laughs).

Suga: I was actually riding the bike that was used during filming. That one's really slow. No matter what I do, it won't go any faster. But, I guess it'll be in my care for a year.

Suga: Draft Master?* I didn't understand it. If you can pour beer, then you're already good at it (laughs). I actually attended one of their course's at Kirin's headquarters. Learning things like, the temperature of a glass at which the best bubbles are produced, or something like that. During the audition, Director Tasaki asked me, "So what is a Draft Master? At that moment I thought, "Now's my chance!" So I said, "Either way, I like beer!" He responded with, "Well then, next time I'll ask you to pour me a beer, haha!," (laughs). Later I though, "I really screwed up." But, I really do like alcohol. Whether it's sake, shochu, wine, or whisky, I can get into just about anything. (*beer pouring course provided by the Kirin Brewery Co.)

Suga: As for food, I don't like green beans, celery, and other things that share a similar taste. My favorite food is sushi! Eel especially. Oh, and soba. I really like Japanese foods in general. My parents own a sushi restaurant, but I actually hated it. The raw stuff they made wasn't good at all. I would always eat dinner at the counter, and the last thing they would serve me is toro (tuna), or something else I hated, so I couldn't leave until I ate it (laughs). I would eat it while crying, and say, "Are you for real?…Dad…" (laughs). I overcame raw foods when I was in junior high, and now I don't have anything I don't like.

Suga: For the past few years, I've really gotten into Kabuki. The fact that I wore a kimono when I went to Washington DC for the stage production of "THE SAMURAI" was an incredible feeling. I was playing the role of a ninja at that time. If you say "ninja", you're considered a superhero over there. It made me think that Japanese classics are something I can proudly share with the world. At that time, I also had the opportunity to meet the sister of a Kabuki and Noh actor, and their movements were completely different from mine. They have to decide on what to decide on. Even the way they stand, the way they walk, and the way they step are all different. I think these kinds of things must have there roots in Kabuki, right? That's why I go to see Kabuki plays.

Suga: Wearing a kimono makes me feel refreshed, or rather, it's almost calming…It's like it's in my DNA. I'm not sure what I'm saying, but it just makes me feel better. I like that feeling of being relaxed. "Fasten your obi" makes you feel tense, doesn't it? I think that's where the expression "Tighten up" comes from.

Suga: The costumes of the stage actors are also incredibly gorgeous. It's like, a ten flower pattern, or a variety of patterns…the four seasons are represented by these patterns. If you look closely you'll say, "Ah, cherry blossoms. It's Spring." Kabuki has been around for about 300 years. And they've hardly change the model at all. When I think, "People 300 years ago must have watched the same kind of thing," I shiver…it makes me feel something. Kamen Rider has a long history, but I can feel the spirit of those who have been doing it within the previous century. I thought there was a connection between "Rider" and "Transformation." Kabuki actors wear makeup…you paint it white with black shading for villains, a single layer of red for good actors, and so on. In a sense, this is a transformation. I would watch it and think, "Transformation, there must be some similarities between the two."

Suga: Ryuki is a work that will surely be interesting enough for even your mother to watch, so please watch it without getting bored or dropping it. Finally, make sure to watch how Shinji Kido will grow, don't forget that there's a 24 year old guy named Takamasa Suga, and most importantly, don't forget to pay attention. I mean it! (laughs).

"FACE UP 2002" Part 2: Satoshi Matsuda (page 7)

Matsuda: The filming is rather interesting. However, all three directors are extremely talented. When the director changed, I felt as if there were alot of scenes that seemed incomplete. When I first heard about the change, it made me think that we're still not ready for this. However, I'm looking forward to this change up, since I've already learned how to play.

Matsuda: When Suga-kun and I talk together, we mainly talk about serious things. The scenes between the two of us will be the best part of the show, and by the time Summer rolls around, both of us will have improved in many ways, as we've decided to grow together, even if it's just the two of us. Even on the location bus, we're always rehearsing our lines.

Matsuda: Dinner on location is served rather early, isn't it? I eat at 6, or 7 at the latest, but I'm still hungry by the time I get home. If I get up around 11 to eat again, and work late into the night, I end up eating five meals a day. Recently though, I've had a personal obsession with the pasta series sold at convenience stores. It's a very popular trend to buy a certain dish the night before, cook it in the morning, then eat. It's delicious. I like the peperoncino ones the most.

Matsuda: For favorite foods, I've actually been incredibly unbalanced lately, as I've been eating alot of steak. I like meat. There's a steak restaurant in my neighborhood that's famous for its quality. I end up eating alot of food there. I'm also thin but gluttonous. If I eat a big meal, I gain weight, however, I also tend to lose weight quickly. I'm actually proud of this, as I have no food likes or dislikes. I love natto, I like bell peppers, I like anything really. I've also eaten frogs and other luxury foods. It tastes more like chicken meat than actual chicken. It's still shaped like a frog though.

Matsuda: Cooking is a pain in the ass. Like boiling pasta in the morning, you know? Although, sometimes on Sunday nights, I do think to myself, "Maybe I'll try to make that~." For me, pork kimchi, pasta in general, and paella are the only things I can make. Paella happened by chance. In the past, some of my friends decided, "Let's eat paella together," so I looked it up in a book and worked really hard to make it. When I served it, everyone said, "It's delicious!," and it made me so happy, that I ended up making it over and over again. As I've fed it to multiple people, it's become a perfected paella (laughs). Before I knew it, I could make paella without looking at a recipe, however I still can't make curry (laughs).

Matsuda: I'm finicky. I've always been that way, even when it comes to toys. It doesn't matter what it is. I feel that lure fishing, which is mainly a hobby for elementary school children, has reached a point where perhaps I should outgrow it. I don't have it anymore, but I was most happy when I caught fish using a lure I made myself out of balsa wood. I used it until it started falling apart. There are lures on the market that can catch more than 100 fish, but the paint peels easily…on the other hand though, the peeling paint seems to actually attract a lot of fish, doesn't it? And the minnow lures are shaped just like the small fish.

Matsuda: There's this book that I thought looked interesting at the bookstore. It's a book that I can read in my spare time, as it's something like a cross between a children's book and a regular book. I think it's incredibly easy to understand. It's a book with a strong message, and its appearance is like the title, so the impact is also strong. The concept of this book is to have a better world view, or atleast that what I think…sometimes I buy books like this. Books that are like, "What does it mean to be human?," and such.

Matsuda: The gap between the characters played by Suga-kun and myself in Ryuki is very clear, and will be very easy to watch, which is why opinions are already divided. There will be those who will only like Ryuki, Knight, Shinji or Ren. In that sense, I see Suga-kun as my rival, but we are working together everyday to produce the best work we can. Please look forward to watching and supporting us, as we try our best with filming on location.

"FACE UP 2002" Part 3: Ayano Sugiyama (page 9)

Sugiyama: My favorite foods are vegetables and fruits. I especially like hot vegetables. I recently conquered natto, but instead of just eating it plain, I eat it with kimchi and grated daikon. Since I discovered this way of eating it, I enjoy it so much, that I eat it every day.

Sugiyama: I can also cook by myself! On days when I can stay home until after 10 a.m., I'll make my own miso soup. I like Japanese food, but in the winter, the only thing growing are all the stumps, and the piles of straw in the shape of houses. I always thought people lived in them (laughs). I'd like to live in them~ (laughs). The other day I made chikuzenni. I'll always have it with kinpira gobo. I've also been cooking for my mother more recently, and she'll say, "I'm so happy, it's delicious, I'm really enjoying this!"

Sugiyama: Today we filmed episodes 5 and 6. Finally, Yui-chan was attacked. At first, I wasn't sure about my role as Yui, but everyone said, "We'll help you," to which I responded with a, "Yay!" I had kept thinking, "What am I going to do! oh man…", but when I finally saw their vision of Yui-chan, what did I think? Isn't she kind of strong willed?…It was totally different from what I was expecting, and there are some parts of her where I thought "huh?," but overall I'm really happy. Today, Knight, or rather Ren, saved me. I'm attacked by the third Rider. It's strange, isn't it? Because in this series, they're all fighting against each other…

Sugiyama: When I was small, I loved "Changeman," with ChangeGriffon being my favorite. What I'm really into right now…is Disney, I love it. That's why I've been collecting alot of Disney merchandise lately. Not only is it my favorite, I need all the support I can get right now, so it's the only thing on my mind.

Sugiyama: When we're on location, it's very early in the morning. I feel amazing though. A special skill of mine, is that I can fall asleep in 30 seconds. I;m able to fall asleep very quickly. When they say we're traveling by location bus, I have to get my favorite schedule book ready. The pattern in it changes depending on the month. I have alot of plans right now, so I always keep a schedule book on me at all times. Sometimes, I'll also write in my diary. My most favorite one has "The Little Mermaid" on it. I'd like to become a mermaid~. When I was a kid, I watched The Little Mermaid so many times on video and would always cry. I also loved "Beauty and the Beast," which also made me cry. I'm guess I'm abit of a crybaby (zzz…). Recently, I was in the makeup room talking with everyone while waiting, when suddenly, without realizing it, everyone became quiet and I feel asleep. I was already a good sleeper, but now even more so. I've been sleeping even better thanks to Ryuki (laughs).

Sugiyama: Ryuki has a bitter feeling, including the battles between the riders. Because of the strong interactions between people, I think it might be alittle difficult for smaller children to understand, but, I think adults and even high schoolers will enjoy it. Furthermore, it's very bizarre. I haven't revealed everything, about Ren-kun and Yui…but, it will slowly be revealed.

Sugiyama: I really like to move my body. I like to go out to take walks and do other things. I'll usually walk around the neighborhood at a brisk pace for about 40 minutes. I'll walk past 3 train stations to have dinner and say, "I've met my goal~!" I tend to walk on the roads of the local rice fields. The atmosphere of rice field is completely different depending on the season. In the Spring, the fields are covered with lotus roots, and in the Summer, it's flooded and rice planting begins. In the Fall, the rice ears stick out and dragonflies are everywhere.

Sugiyama: Ryuki and Knight's Suga-san and Matsuda-san are both cool, but I'd like everyone to also focus on Yui-chan as well. Furthermore, if you see me on location or at a fan meeting, please don't hesitate to call me "Yui-chan." I love children too, so taking pictures is totally OK, in fact, I'd be more than happy.

Zane woke with a start, a strangled gasp escaping his throat as he launched upright. He stared at the wall with wide eyes, panting, recounting the horrific events of his nightmare.

There was one specific image that was burned into his mind: you, on the ground, hurt, trying to get away, scared—scared of him.

Perhaps the worst part of it all was the knowledge that he was the one who hurt you.

He hadn’t known you in the dream; he was acting under orders (or was it instinct? He couldn’t remember). He saw only an an enemy, something to be eradicated. You were screaming, but he wasn’t listening. If anything, he was using it as an incentive to continue. It meant you were scared, and he remembered thinking in that moment: good.

In the final moments of the dream, when you were about to die, the realization suddenly hit him: he knew you. He knew what you were to him. And suddenly your screams were the most gut-wrenching, earth-shattering noise he’d ever heard, and the sheer horror came with him into the waking world.

As his fight-or-flight response slowly deactivated itself, Zane brought his hands up to his face. He closed his eyes, burying his head in his palm. He began to quiver, finding the dread in his stomach heavy and nauseating.

He tried to tell himself it was only a dream. But this wasn’t the first time he’d dreamed of something like this. And each time he lived through the horrible scenario of taking your life (or attempting to, at the least), he became more doubtful of the true nature of the dreams. Were they only dreams, or were they memories?

He shook his head, suddenly exhausted by the effort of convincing himself. “I don’t know how much longer I can do this,” he murmured, finding his voice raspy and unstable.

There was a stirring beside him. “Do what?”

Zane’s breath hitched. He wasn’t sure if he could stand to look at you—not after that dream. So he tried to straighten himself, tensing in a half-effective attempt to stop his shaking, and said: “Nothing. I’m sorry to have woken you.”

You weren’t convinced by his tone, so you sat up, bringing yourself to his level. You touched his arm, blinking away the remaining sleep from your eyes to look at him. Much to your dismay, he turned his face away.

“Zane,” you pleaded softly, “what’s wrong?”

“It’s nothing,” he insisted. It sounded like he was trying to convince himself more than he was trying to convince you.

You moved your arm to wrap around his shoulders, leaning your head into his arm. “I’m not going to pressure you, but just know that you can tell me anything.”

His head turned a little. He wasn’t looking at you, but he wasn’t looking away, either. He was just staring at the wall opposite to your bed, a haunted look plaguing his eyes.

Now you knew it wasn’t “nothing.” You straightened yourself again, scooting to the front of Zane’s periphery so you could look him in the eye. “Zane, did something happen?”

“I—I don’t know. Did it? I can’t remember.” He was shaking his head despairingly, a wildness stirring in his demeanor. His fists were curled tight around his forearms in an anxious gesture to comfort himself. You put a hand on his knee supportively, waiting for him to elaborate a little.

“My memory is… not good. Not for that part of my life.”

“Which part?”

“When I was the—” His eyes closed in anguish while he shook his head violently, as if trying to rattle the thought out of his brain.

“The Ice Emperor,” you breathed, finishing his sentence.

Now that you understood, you rushed to comfort him. You practically flew forward to wrap him in a hug, holding his head firmly against your shoulder while your other hand rubbed his back.

“It was just a nightmare.”

“It was all a nightmare! I don’t know where the dreams end and reality begins.”

You pulled away, your eyes meeting Zane’s sympathetically. “Do you want to tell me what happened?”

Zane’s mouth opened, then shut again. He almost moved to shake his head, but instead he found his mouth opening once more, and then the words cascaded out.

He spared no details. He had attacked you, forced you to the brink of death, all without remorse. He listened to your anguished pleas and ignored them, wondering who you were to be behaving so familiarly, yet not caring. He had lifted his arm, about to make the final blow, your screech exploding in his ears and sending him flying back into the waking realm.

You let the silence hang in the air for a minute, blinking at the horrific scene Zane had painted for you. Then, seeing the anxiety spiking in him, you rushed to assure him it wasn’t real.

“Nothing of the sort happened. And nothing like that ever will happen.”

“How can you be so sure?”

“Because you’re better than that. Stronger than that.”

You saw Zane’s grip on himself loosen a little. “But what if it does happen? I can’t protect you.”

“I’ll protect myself,” you quipped, flexing your biceps comically.

A little smile found Zane’s lips. He let out a sigh, releasing more of the tension in his body.

“Still,” he continued, his face twisting again, “I did do horrible things.”

“That wasn’t you. That was some twisted jerk’s pawn who was too innocent to see that what he was doing was wrong.”

Zane nodded slowly, his gaze dropping. He glanced back up at you with an outstretched arm, requesting another hug.

You decided to use it as an opportunity to drag him back into a laying position, using your weight to pull you both down flat onto the mattress. You snuggled into his side, waiting to feel him relax before you let yourself do the same. You waited, but he remained tense.

The covers were bunched up around your legs, so you sat up to grab them.

“Please don’t go,” Zane blurted, panicked.

You pressed a kiss onto his forehead as you lowered yourself back down, tucking the blankets over you both. “I’m not going anywhere,” you promised. “Never.”

At last you could see him relax fully. He’d finally internalized your words, and you could see that in the way he began to smile. He wrapped his arms around you snugly. You felt his fingers gripping the fabric of your pajamas, holding tight as if you’d slip away.

“I’m never going to let that happen,” you heard him murmur. “I’ll always protect you.”

“And I, you. I love you.”

“I love you too.”

Probably controversial warframe opinion ("Probably" because I recall the last time this idea was proposed everyone shit the bed with rage over it BUT it was also being proposed as a paid option if I recall correctly so there was reason to rage):

Additional micro disclaimer, I have been taking a break for months, if they somehow did this I do not know (but doubt it)

They should honestly just rework the requirements for all content that is at least 1 year old to be near instantaneously completed so long as you're going for it.

What I mean is every "quest-y" foundry craft? Instant. Every REQUIRED craft like necramechs and railjack? You get the parts for free just for selecting the quest. Every questline? You can watch a cutscene instead for the reward (yes, even New War). The star chart? It should be infinitely more lenient- with no quests or content demanding a completed chart (yes, even steel path, the difficulty itself is enough of a barrier and if someone is getting carried they were going to get carried anyway)- and arguably more importantly you should start the game with a couple nodes unlocked on EVERY planet. The "unlocked later" zones like lua and fortress or whatever can be unlocked via doing the quest which as I mentioned- should be skippable by watching the cutscenes instead.

Leave all the content there for anyone who wants to experience it- maybe rework the gameplay rewards to be like "You get 2k endo and 200k creds for the first completion of this quest :)" so there's a tiny little reward/incentive to do the content as a new player but it's CLEARLY optional and you can just click the cutscene to skip ahead.

The new player barriers are just more and more insane and I know there's a bottom line "short term" reward for DE keeping it this way as there are PAID PLAT options to speed some of the questing up, like buying a mech outright, but long term? Buddy. So many people that get introduced to warframe just turn around and stop when they start seeing the 300 hours of pointless-unrewarding questing they need to do in order to participate in whatever current content their friends are doing.

DE themselves expressed a concern over this, stating that they wanted a skip option, but people went rabid 50% because I believe they were saying a "Pay to skip" (I forgor) and 50% because "BUT THEY HAVE TO EXPERIENCE IT ALL OR IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE"

and frankly.

It should be free- it should be the baseline experience- you should just click the quest and be presented with "Play for minor rewards or Skip?" and that be the end of it.

And if people like the game- if people get to play with their friends and see the cool parts of the game without being told "Sorry, you need to do x y z a b c d e f in order to do that, sorry :(" then they will attain a growing interest in warframe that can lead them to doing the quests "The Right Way" later.

I'm just tired of showing people my favorite f2p space ninja game and realizing that those barriers are going to stop them from actually sticking around.

RESUMO

Why Leonardo da Vinci is considered awesome - a Renaissance ramble

Okay so I'm gonna use the tendrils of what I remember from European and art history to expound on this guy with my recent photos from Italy - as well as Italian Renaissance art in general. Contributions and corrections very welcome.

(Since the pics are mine they're not the highest quality; Google the name and artist for any of these to find higher quality images if you'd like to see more details.)

The Renaissance is considered to have begun in the 14th century (1300s) in Italy and spread across Europe for the next 300 years from area to area. Renaissance, meaning "rebirth", was all about humanism with a huge emphasis on the growth of knowledge and the arts. While there is no set year for its start, I believe that most would agree that it largely took off after the Black Plague (mid-century) which killed about a third of the population of Europe, helping lead to the end of serfdom and an overall upheaval of societies across the continent.

In paintings up to the mid-late 14th century from Italy, you'll see very little representation of realistic art. Most of the figures appear more flat and there's no consistency in figure size and the like. It's not necessarily that artists were incapable of realistic drawing; it's rather that symbolism was significantly more important in medieval art, and everything from size to positioning had a meaning in these pieces. Realistic portrayal wasn't the goal.

The early Renaissance saw a change in this style. While symbolism was still important in many paintings during the Renaissance, they started to be incorporated in a realistic manner. The gold leaf backgrounds largely became a thing of the past and painted backgrounds entered the picture. With painted backgrounds entered the need for perspective.

Artists were definitely trying early on to paint these realistic backgrounds, but perspective is a formula with very specific rules, and without knowing those rules, you can't get the perspective right. You can see that below in this early Renaissance painting. Different parts of the wall appear to be going to different vanishing points and the proportions relative to distance and the height of the viewer aren't quite there yet.

Adoration of the Child with Saints / Filippo Lippi (c. 1455)

In the above artist's case, perspective was an item known by this time - Filippo Brunelleschi, the genius behind the enormous dome in the Cathedral in Florence - rediscovered it earlier that century, and his discovery was popularized by Renaissance architect Leon Battista Alberti, who published them in 1435 in a book for painters.

But this all leads up to Leonardo and artists of his caliber (such as Raphael). By the end of the 15th century and going into the 16th, the really talented artists knew the mathematical reasonings behind perspective and could accurately portray one point perspective in their works.

Annunciation / Leonardo da Vinci (c. 1472 - according to Uffizi. Some attribute it as late as 1476)

Leonardo was one of the early adapters - but he wasn't the only one, not at all. So why is he so well known?

Well, he's likely so well known due to the Mona Lisa being stolen from the Louvre in 1911 and hidden for two years. That helped Leonardo's name, already well respected in the art and history world, gain fame in popular consciousness. Further references to him in the later 20th century (such as the ever-popular Ninja Turtles) only helped further.

But why is he so respected in the world of history and art?

Leonardo was one of the first called a "Renaissance Man", a term that came from the Renaissance but has come today to be known as a "a person with many talents or areas of knowledge" (per Oxford). He was not only a painter and artist, but an engineer, scientist, theorist, sculptor, and architect. Something I learned on my trip to Italy is that when he first went to Milan (because there was too much competition in Florence!) he presented himself to Lord Sforza as an engineer rather than an artist. You can see this all throughout his writings, along with his musings on all the above subjects PLUS anatomy, astronomy, botany, cartography, and paleontology (thanks Wiki).

Leonardo was so good at engineering that his detailed notes on a planetary clock that was in Chiaravalle Abbey during his time (and since destroyed in some fashion) has been recreated from his notes alone. And yes, it works. It's been recreated at least twice from what I can find, the newest one made by Dolce&Gabbana. This painter was so good at engineering that we have a working clock from it.

(Sadly, his inventing the airlock for winemaking seems to be fiction spread to tourists - earliest dates point to 19th century for that - but he certainly had a love of wine and his own vineyard).

But what I really really wanted to cover in this post was his skill as an artist compared with his contemporaries - and I don't think anything does this quite as well as The Other Painting on the Wall.

What other painting? It turns out that the large room in the Santa Maria delle Grazie that hosts The Last Supper actually holds another mural on the opposite wall.

Crucifixion / Giovanni Donato da Montorfano (1495)

No one seems to know that this painting is in the same room. No one cares about it, either. In WW2, Milan was hit heavily and a third of the city was destroyed. They protected The Last Supper with a wall of sandbags to try and protect it from any bombing (and while one wall of the old monastery was indeed destroyed, it miraculously survived). Donato's painting? Wasn't even considered worth trying to protect.

And well, when you look at the two contemporary pieces together, you can see why this one has no fame. It's large and impressive, yes, but so are many paintings and frescos from that time period. There's a dime a dozen of them in Italy from the Renaissance. It's when you look at the details that you see the lack of depth.

Look at the mourner with blond hair and the purple and gold clothing, for instance. Consider the scene: Jesus, the one who they follow and believe to be their savior, is being killed in an absolutely horrific manner - and the expression on that man's face looks more like he's bummed out that his pizza burned in the oven. That's not anguish; it's mild disappointment.

You see that mild emotion in all the faces of the people around; fury is mere annoyance, grief is an inconvenience, and it certainly doesn't match the anguish even as the scene is written in the New Testament.

Now look across the room at the detail there. Even after its deterioration due to Leonardo's less than great experimentation with not-fresco materials, you can still see the clear confusion, anger, and disbelief in the apostles' faces when Jesus tells them that one of them is going to betray him.

And these two frescos were created in the same decade.

Not only do you have the intense and all-too-human emotion in this work that the painting by Donato lacks, but you also have very subtle symbolism incorporated naturally into the painting with the Apostles all grouped in three (and indeed all the threes you can see in composition), Judas leaning down to be cloaked in shadow, and Jesus (as was common with these paintings) indicating with his hands to the Eucharist (the bread and wine).

Being in the same room as both of these frescos, I can say with certainty that Leonardo deserves all the praise that he gets.

Gwynedd is, quite literally, a natural-born sailor. That is to say that she was delivered while her parents were at sea, below deck on The Hullripper, a once-pirate-now-mercantile ship captained by her mother Angharad and her first mate/husband Rhodri. In her mid-20s, Gwynedd developed a desire to see more of the world, which meant leaving her life at sea behind in favor of becoming an adventurer. Seeking fame, fortune, and the company of beautiful women, she would instead find herself fighting for the very existence of the star she called home.

It’s safe to say that Llewellyn’s birth was unexpected. Born slightly early and far smaller than the average Roegadyn infant, the Grufud family was forced to take an extended shore leave in Gridania to ensure ready access to healing. Growing up, Llewellyn was often bullied for his smaller size and sickly nature. Even as he grew into a teenager and his health improved, he continued to be much scrawnier than average for his race, leading to much insecurity on his part. When he hears of his elder sister’s exploits as the vaunted champion of Eorzea, Llewellyn wants nothing more than to join her, but leaving the rest of his family behind is a difficult thing to do.

Allag was an empire of incredible technology. From airborne research facilities to teleportation, nothing was beyond the reach of their greatest minds. But, one of these great minds Isolde was not, which made the fact that she was cloned all the more confusing. Worse still was that she’d managed to miss the end of the world, or at least the fall of Allag and everything she’d ever known. Her memories consisted of little more than her name, some vague scenes, and blurry faces. Fortunately, she still knew how to wield a pair of daggers, providing her with a means of defending herself against whatever lurked outside that deactivated cloning facility.

Anoche vi la peli de Naruto: "Guardians of the crescent moon" y uufff que linda peli, por Dios. La animación, el desarrollo de personajes, los outfits nuevos de los chicos, todo, todo, todo.

El doblaje le dio puntos extra, pero me hubiese gustado que la esposa, al enterarse que su ex estaba gordo, haya dicho "Qué te panzó!?"

Pensé que solo me gustaba por la nostalgia, la había visto hace años con mi hermano mayor en una época muy bonita de mi vida, sin embargo, me emocioné en varias partes, más cuando los chicos le hacen la promesa al personaje de Hikaru, ahí estallé en lágrimas.

Bueno, gente, los puntos negativos son pocos:

- El villano principal, que tenía la voz de Jesse Conde AKA el Duende Verde, era bastante genérico.

- La esposa del villano jamás habló en toda la peli y si no aparecía iba a ser igual.

- El policía este, que se parecía a Gai, se murió muy rápido. Una lástima porque era churro.

- Me hubiese gustado que explorasen un poquito más sobre la relación del Rey con su hijo y nieto.

- Casi 3/4 de la peli Kakashi no hizo nada importante.

Por lo demás, todo bien, había visto Road to Ninja la semana pasada y la verdad que no me gustó tanto. No fue la octava maravilla como casi todo el mundo anda pregonando.

En síntesis, vean la 3era peli de Naruto, gente, no se van a arrepentir.

Little known Nintendont2502 lore - I used to be *incredibly* into Skylanders. Like "I spent 300+ AUD on an Xbox 360, games and figures just to remake my collection after I lost it years ago"

It's still a WIP, but so far I have Spyro's Adventure, Giants, Swap Force, Trap Team and Superchargers (the only game in my collection I didn't have as a kid) + the corresponding portals on 360, Swap Force on Xbox One, roughly 153 figures, 6 location/item figures, 3 traps and 9 vehicles

I also managed to get my hands on a few variants (albeit unintentionally)

Legendary Bone Bash Roller Brawl (two of them!), Blades + Deja Vu

Dark Blast Zone, Wash Buckler, Slobber Tooth, Mega Ram Spyro + Ninja Stealth Elf

And Eggcited Thrillipede and Granite Crusher

And (and these are probably the rarest/coolest part of my collection) I even have the Dark + Light Trap Masters and location items, and the Light trap >:)

I think the breakdown of how many of each element + game I have is interesting as well:

I wouldn't mind getting back into collecting? I don't hate myself enough to try and get every single figure and variant, but I think maybe something like every SSA figure, or a gimmick character of each element (aka a Giant/Swap Force/Trap Master of each element) could be doable and pretty fun. The problem is collecting is hard as hell now because literally no one sells them anymore near me, so id have to go online and I haven't fallen that far yet

I do think the coolest thing to collect could be every swappable figure but again I'd have to go online and I don't want to spend too much money on this yk

I'd also love to get a trap of every element which actually wouldn't be too hard now that i think about it (except maybe like. The dark + Kaos traps? God I used to have the kaos trap, most of the giants and a few more variants and traps before my dad threw out my collection now I'm annoyed).
