Ninjago Focus Season Shuffle Challenge!

Ayo fellow ninjago fans, I’ve got an AU challenge for you! Shuffle the focus ninja of any season (this is specifically for the WildBrain seasons, aka Season 11 onwards, but feel free to do this with prior seasons too if you feel inspired!) and see what happens. 

The WildBrain specific challenge is as follows: 

Original Focus Order:

Secrets of Forbidden Spinjitzu (Fire Chapter) = Kai

Secrets of Forbidden Spinjitzu (Ice Chapter) = Zane

Prime Empire = Jay

Master of The Mountain = Cole

The Island / Seabound = Nya

Crystalized = Lloyd

Take Seasons 11-15/16 (Secrets of Forbidden Spinjitzu Part 1 & 2, Prime Empire, Master of the Mountain, The Island/Seabound, and Crystalized) and change the focus ninja (you can also edit the season as you like to match, but try to keep some of the core elements/story beats). You can reply as a reblog (and if you rather post it yourself, please tag me! I’d love to see other ideas!) and include was much or little detail as you’d like. 

If you want, you can also change the season order a bit (and write how they affect each other), or keep it in the original order!

I find the whole concept of an elemental master merging with their element to be so fascinating. Tbh, I wish we got to see more of it in canon with Nya or at least more of the aftermath other than her dealing with not having powers for a while but that's besides the point.

Back to the original point, I think it's really cool to think about other EMs and what they'd be like after merging with their element and I've seen a few people play around with the idea for the other ninja, but I kinda wish people would explore the idea with other elements. How would more unique elemental powers work? Are there some elements where it's just flat out impossible for the EM to merge with their element since it's not a tangible thing? Like Mind or Speed?

Changing topics just a little bit, I randomly thought about Skylor and how that would look for her. She's the elemental master of amber so I think her form would be like a humanoid blob of sap that could change properties depending on what powers she absorbs. Idk something neat like that. I have no idea how that would happen from a storytelling perspective, but I just think it was a neat idea that I might draw later if I find the time.

What if Tomorrow's Tea went differently? (AKA my on the spot villain AU)

From what I've seen, Tomorrow's Tea is when it kind of really settled in that Lloyd was going to be a "hero". He couldn't use the excuse of young age anymore. He was given expectations that no one has met before, before he even made it to middle school.

What if the other ninja weren't ready for that? What if they got fed up with Wu's cryptic sayings and being told to save everyone? First they were supposed to put their lives on the line, but now they're throwing a child out there?

Kai was the first to go. When he saw Lloyd, forced to grow up literally and metaphorically, he saw himself. He saw his younger self taking care of Nya long before he could provide for himself, and he knew that he couldn't watch that same thing happen to Lloyd. So he left. He ran off in the night, and everyone woke up to a note assuring them he wasn't taken, but that was it.

Cole was the second to leave. He was also the one to take Lloyd with him. Lloyd had been close to Kai, ever since the incident in the volcano. When Kai left, right after he'd just had his world turned upside down? Lloyd couldn't handle it. He trained, and only trained. He'd take breaks to eat the bare minimum of food he needed, and sleep only a few hours each night. After a month of this, Cole stormed into Lloyd's room as he was waking up for more training and announced they were leaving. Lloyd, not realizing that this wasn't a trip, went with him. They set out the next morning, and found Kai on the outskirts of the city, planning how he'd return to Ignacia. They convinced him to stay in the city, and stayed with him.

Jay was next. With Kai, Cole, and especially Lloyd gone, Wu had been treating him and Zane especially harshly. It was fine for the first few days, when he could at least talk to Nya. Sure, she was a bit off, but he chalked that up to her missing her brothers. After a week though, when it came clear no one was coming back, she gave up on talking to him. He didn't know where she kept disappearing to, but now it was just him, Zane, and Wu. So he left too. By coincidence, he ran into Cole at the grocery store, who took him back to where he was staying with Kai and Lloyd.

Zane stayed the longest. He saw nothing wrong with his training. Perhaps Wu was being harsh on Jay, Cole, and Lloyd, but he was a nindroid and equipped to handle this. He was built to protect those who couldn't protect themselves, and if he didn't have help, it made sense he'd work harder. He did miss Lloyd, Jay, Kai, and Cole. It was lonely. He hadn't known that he'd formed a relationship, until it was gone. Then, one night, his door was slammed open. Nya announced that she was leaving to find her brothers, and Zane wished her luck. He informed Wu of it the next morning, and that's when he started to consider leaving. Wu hadn't showed any sign of caring that Nya was gone. He hadn't shown much concern for any of the ninja leaving, but Zane had assumed that was due to their training and elemental powers. Now though? He realized what it was. Wu wasn't trying to have them be heroes.

Wu was turning them into weapons. And Zane wasn't going to sit around and let that happen. So he left, and ran to catch up with Nya. Together they found Kai, Cole, Lloyd, and Jay. They all agreed they didn't have the money or experience to stay in Ninjago City, and decided to head to Jay's parents junkyard.

It was a long trip on foot, but they all learned something about themselves. It started when Lloyd was out of his strict training regime. They had run out of money and food, and their youngest picked the pocket of a businessman who happened to pass them. Zane was originally against it, but they all talked him out of reporting them to the police. After all, it was only a one time thing, right?

It was a one time thing. Until they found someone in an alley beating up another. Zane stepped in, defending the woman on the ground and letting her run free. He accidentally hit the offending man too hard and knocked him out. They decided to take some of his money while he was down. After all, he wasn't using it, and they still had to travel a while. Little did they know, this was the start of a new life.

Plus, Freminet and Zane have quite a few things in common! :D I thought it would be cute if Freminet became the next Master of Ice, and Zane was like a mentor figure to him! ^^

OC-Tober Day 18: Pokemon Crossover!

I HAVE A LOT OF ASSORTED THOUGHTS

In the case of Miranda, she would start out as your average trainer but eventually evolve (hA) into a Pokemon Researcher and from there a Pokemon Professor

She would be extremely obsessed with Ultra Beasts and Ultra Space, wanting to make a full Pokedex (or Poke-pendium as she calls it) for all the undiscovered creaturess in that world (because technically, no one’s done that yet!)

Her team consists of Poipole, Porygon, Mudkip, Rotom, Duosion, and a Shiny Flapple!

Meanwhile, Jesse would be a Pokemon Coordinator, much preferring to show off his Pokemon in contests rather than sending them off the battle.

His big dream though is to be a Pokemon Performer in Showcases as well, but as those are “for girls only”, his big mission is to aggressively fight the system and make Showcases free of gender bias (which Miranda is more than happy to support)

His team consists of Blacephalon, Sylveon, Shaymin, Mismagius, Brionne, and Appleton! (really resisted giving him a Kirlia and a Roselia but maybe he has those too, just rotates them out) 

Jesse and Miranda were both given an Applin by their grandfather (Jesse’s red and Mira’s green), while their grandmother gave them each an apple to evolve them with. Jesse ended up with the Sweet Apple; Mira ended up with the Tart Apple

Sunni would be a specialized Pokemon Breeder, breeding Pokemon able to learn weather-based moves, as she believes it’s an under-utilized aspect of raising/training Pokemon.

She’d collect all the weather rocks and be happy to give away her extras, and can easily predict changes in the weather to help others pan ahead or use to her advantage (not that she battles very often, but when she doe she is a FORCE OF NATURE. Literally)

Her Team consists of Castform, Cherrim, Mareep, Lotad, Sliggoo, and Alolan Vulpix

Harleigh I could see training to become a Ghost-type Gym Leader, although she’d put more effort into scaring people from actively challenging her than actually fighting others snksnk. But, those who actually make it to her? She is impressed with. 

Her team consists of Alolan Marowak, Cursola, Banette, Lampent, Doublade, and Hisuian Zorua (no those aren’t just some of my favorite ghost types what do you mean-)

Olivia has a Sharpedo and she, Bridget, and the Shark Army would be the villainous team here and that’s as far as I got with that! But imagining Olivia and Bridget as some kind of Team Rocket expy (or just Olivia being a rival character) fills me with joy

Okay well what about an AU where Wu picks up Kai and Nya after their parents dissappear and they go on adventures with him from a young age and they call him uncle and he becomes a parental figure and develops as a person while looking after them and Ninjago and Kai has beef with him and challenges everything he says at any time he can unlike Wu's last experience with a student/surrogate son who hung onto his every word and Nya can't remember their parents but she can remember Wu and Kai and Wu had to carry the map to the Golden weapons with him everywhere because he has no one to entrust it to now and he can't leave it or the kids at the shop and its lowkey like Scrooge Donald and Della in the 2017 ducktales except defending ninjago and Nya is off the rails and Kai hates everything and Wu feels like he's too old to be raising kids and it's even worse when they're teenagers what about that? anybody come up with that au yet?

Day 101: More Wobbly Hearts Fanart

I read this scene and immediately started drawing, I haven't even finished the chapter yet.

This is a bit more detailed than I can usually get out because my afternoon plans were cancelled, but still not my best. I'll get you something really detailed one of these days

I'm not late for my digital art challenge, time is actually extremely early. Also my sister allowed me to use her photoshop and I am just confused because I can't adapt after looking at the same one software for four years. Also I hurt myself in Paris subway and I'm unhappy.

Don't look at the colour palet thingy, it's 5:00 am and I don't know what I'm doing.

So I decided to use this challenge to develop my dumb au ideas without taking any time to introduce you to it 😈

But because I feel like I should give some context, I'm still gonna yap about it😈😈😈

So actually, Jay isn't the one I should start with, but I'm chaotic so here you go 🫠

But it originally started when I realised that Ninjago gave Cole so little screen time that I started to make my own Cole lore in my head (sometime my brain does this on its own). And basically, I went from "what if Cole had a backstory?" to "what if I gave Cole my childhood trauma because I relate to him way too much?"to "what if Jay had siblings?" to "what if Zane was the only one with a perfect childhood?". And before I knew it an alternate timeline came tickling my circuits at night.

This then became me being mad at season 7 for bringing back Kai and Nya's parents, and decided to give (almost) all the ninjas childhood traumas based on what I understood of their character.

So in this au, Jay doesn't really have any "childhood trauma", but I kinda designed his family to be problematic in a way that he would grow with many insecurities because he lacked parental attention. And this despite his parents being awfully nice and caring to him and his siblings. It's just something that can happen, especially in large families or when the parents are so invested in their work/hobby that they tend to unintentionally neglect their kids, and I think that both are happening in Jay's family.

I'm also thinking that his parents would have difficulties understanding most of their children exposing neurodivergent symptoms. I strongly believe that Jay is on the ADHD spectrum, and as a person with ADHD symptoms as well, I'm using my personal experience to explain how he could've grown with it. (I'm not very good when talking about neurodivergence, just know that I based most of Jay's childhood problems on this video, which I think explains very well how parents can have the best intentions but still hurt their children because they don't understand them)

So of course, the final personalities of the ninjas are a bit different from canon, but I did try to make them similar at best, or close from what I understand of them, which might not be correct X). In this au, Jay is very insecure about his abilities, which results in him hiding most of the time to build/model/create/whatever artistic stuff he said he did, but also in him having more difficulties to unlock some of his powers (like the elemental dragon). After spending some time with him, the other ninjas learn how to properly encourage him to open up and make him gain some self-confidence. When he is not in a stressing situation, Jay acts rather childishly, because he was used to be mothered by his parents and his older siblings, and he is more open about his emotions than others can be, he even has trouble hiding them when necessary.

plus in my au, Wu met Morro when the Elemental Alliance was created already and before Acronix and Krux betrayed them. [if.. thats not already canon lol, i dont keep up with when anything happened]

THE PAST:

[12-16 y.o.]

- He was one of the most determined and challenging teenagers, training hard.

- Dante has been the youngest member of the Elemental Alliance, making him the main interest as every single elemental master trained him. [his parents went to a journey, leaving him with Wu ans Garmadon at the monastery and they never came back. no one knows what happened to them, although, that didnt effected him much as he was often left with Wu.]

- when Dante was 16 years old, Morro was taken in under the blonde man wings. At first he didnt like it, but after some time he grew warmer to the jet-black haired boy, taking him for a younger brother and training with him. He mightve gotten more protective over him.

- Dante, too, believed that Morro was the green ninja after Wu talked about it, encouraging him and and lifting his hopes up subconsiously. the rest of the story is obvious.. this was one of the moments that really affected him.

- as he watched the EA fall apart, he craved for more power to fight against evil and find his little brother. he was told his whole life that he should never take his power for granted as its one of the strongest elements, especially with him being exposed to the main source of light very often. Dante, on the other hand, couldnt really deal with others leaving.

HIS ABILITIES:

- can bend and materialize light into weapons [his weapon of choice were mostly his light blades, but anything dual wielded was fine for him].

- he could move at the speed of light, often did it to attack his enemies from suprise [not a stealthy ability as he leaves glowing bright lights behind him when using it].

- can flashbang others by either throwing a small light ball at their eyes or snapping his fingers.

- as hes pretty strong during sunny days, at night and on cloudy days he usually uses weapons from Wu. [that doesnt mean he cant use his elemental power, but during his youth his power wasnt so strong with absence of the sun. it only changed what weapons he uses though]

[18- 27y.o.?]

- one night after sneaking out to clear his mind, a strange figure approached him. it was a tall one, hidden under the black cloak. everyone knew who Dante was, so with no beating around the bush, the mysterious man gave him an offer in joining him. green haired boy declined his offer immediately, but after what he heard he was shocked.. the mysterious man told him that he would help him find his so-called younger brother.

- after making him believe he can erase the evil from all of the ninjago he joined the cult. They burned the mark on his face to officialy take him as their member, making him their leader. the longer he stayed with them, the more corrupted and brainwashed he was, turning him into their weapon. they formed a plan, making an elemental burst and trying to erase "the evil".

- one day, he started his journey to look for Morro, going for days and days into every part of Ninjago, only to find his cold body in the Cave of Despair. he grieved him for a good few hours before finding a field to bury him and let him rest in peace.

- his desire for ubspeakable strenght grew bigger, forcing him into trying to create artificial element of light and mixing it with his own. this, unfortunalety, worked horribly with his mental state and making him more of a villain. when he attacked the city once, Wu was devastated and tried to help him. this lead them to have a fight with Wu desparately trying to convince him and change his mind. Wu after that meeting tried to talk with other elemental masters to stop Dante.

- when the city got under Dantes control after the cult betrayed him and he fought with the new-built Elemental Alliance, he used the Elemental burst. unfortunately, his light element mixed with the artificial one made him fail to destroy anything other the city. this, made him half-blind and left him scarred on his limbs, losing his power.

- after that he finally snapped out of his sinister desires and managed to ran away unnoticed from the city somewhere far away.

PRESENT [WIP]:

[30↑]

- he lives far far away from the town and anyone else in a small cottage house out of shame.

- if necessary, he comes out of the house in disguise to buy some food. hes had various jobs already, but his bad eyesight [no glasses helped with his vision] he couldnt work in too many for too long.

- his elemental power was slowly recovering, but due to the fact that it was corrupted and mixed with the artificial one, it was infecting his body, making it age slower and weakening him over time.

- after so many years he started recieving money in his mail.. perhaps from someone with a kind heart?

- he tries to stay away from anyone with elements and people who couldve been a part of a terror he caused, especially away from Wu.

Red is several hours late to his and Qi Xiaotian's first date...because he spied on Xiaotian's date with some "random guy", not knowing that Xiaotian was joking about him when Red asked him about plans.

Scooby Doo, my incarnation: The first part of Episode 1, when trying to leave their hometown of Crystal Cove to start their second year of college, the Mystery Gang finds themselves trapped in Crystal Cove.

Darius and Camila are spending more time together as co-guardians of Hunter, to the point where Luz, Hunter, and the rest of the Hexsquad notice. An idea is brought up of them maybe dating. Luz and Hunter have different reactions- Hunter is delighted. Luz is not.

LMK: Xiaojiao jokingly challenges Red to a duel only for both of their families to take it super seriously, especially when old grudges (aka Ao Lie’s death) are brought up

Pull of The Tides: my silly ninjago pirate au

idek where to start so.

A little after Morro runs away from Wu, he starts looking for the First Spinjitsu Master's tomb. Obviously not getting much luck, he finds a harbor town, and a strange demon woman who promises to help him exact his revenge on destiny. Resuming his search for the FSM's tomb, he turns to the seas after hearing rumors the tomb is at the bottom of the ocean, and starts a small but strong group of pirates on a stolen boat.

A few years later, he raids a village through it's rivers for rice and money, and finds a blacksmith shop with a small boy challenging him with a crude sword. His smaller sister stands behind him, yelling at him to get out.

Instead of fighting them, Morro takes them with his crew and raises them like siblings, learning they have elemental powers like him: the girl controlling water, and the boy controlling fire. Immediately Morro begins training them in combat and helping them control their powers, both so that they can be of use to him and so they don't sink his ship. The girl, being named Nya 'Waterwalker' Jiang, and the boy named Kai 'Flint' Jiang.

About 10 years go by, and Wu becomes very confused to find an empty blacksmith's shop, one that looks like it's empty for quite some time. Asking nearby neighbors gets him dead ends and more confusion, so he goes back to the monastery empty handed and continues training his own students, Jay, Cole and Zane.

However, when they get an emergency letter from a coastal village asking for defense from pirates with elemental powers, things start to click. Wu finds a familiar face on the captain draped in green commanding wind, and two others who bear a striking resemblance to his missing friends, Ray and Maya.

Wu tells his former student that whatever he's looking for, he'll have to go through him and his students. Captain Morro informs him that his quest for his father's tomb has been abandoned, and his crew is now looking for something- or someone- more powerful: the green ninja.

It becomes a race against each other to find whoever and wherever this green ninja is, with Morro somehow ending up with another kid who says he's the son of Lord Garmadon himself. He's a brat. Morro's not too sure why he's still on the ship.
