O.D.T.: Escape… Or Die Trying
Tumblr media
NA release: N/A
PAL release: N/A
JP release: N/A
Developer: FDI
Publisher: Psygnosis
N64 Magazine Score: N/A
Tumblr media
ODT was an action game that released on PlayStation and PC. An N64 version was in development, but was cancelled. N64 gave a little blurb saying that it was due to Psygnosis having financial issues (not long after, they were absorbed into Sony), although N64 magazine stated “Not much of a loss as far as ODT’s concerned. Shame about F1, though”.
When a ROM was eventually found, the most surprising thing was that the N64 version was finished, and there were even specific NTSC and PAL versions of the game. However, the poor reception on PlayStation and PC combined with the cost of making cartridges probably influenced the decision to not release it.
Tumblr media
ODT is a game clearly inspired by Tomb Raider, but set in a futuristic Jules Verne sci-fi mashup (your ship is called the Nautiflyus, which is just stupid). However, it completely lacks any charm, clever level design or fun that the Tomb Raider games had. Instead, it settles for clunky, low and tedious.
The controls would have been bad when it came out (as reviews on other platforms point out), and feel even worse now. Movement has you turning left and right with the analogue stick, holding a c button to slowly sidestep. The camera does not play nice at all, always at an odd angle behind you, to the point where you can’t see holes or gaps (in the image below, the “floor” has massive gaps) with no way to manipulate it. In some rooms, the camera becomes fixes and the movement feels completely wrong.
Tumblr media
The shooting is also just bad. Your gun (you do obtain different kinds of ammo that act differently) sort of homes in on enemies, but not very well and the manual aiming is atrocious. The game also starts off with bat-like enemies that are the most difficult to hit.
There is a magic system in the game that does work well – hold R and press a C-button to use the assigned spell. It’s a while before you properly unlock one, so you’re already fed up before you get to use the spell system. You can also level up your characters and guns, but it’s not very interesting when the gameplay isn’t enjoyable.
Tumblr media
The level designs also don’t help. They’re maze-like and mostly made up of small box rooms. You wander around, killing enemies, come to a locked door, backtrack, find a key, go back to the locked door and repeat far too many times. It does sometimes mix it up by having a switch instead of a key. While good games lock the entrances to areas, this game just locks the end, letting you progress through multiple long winding paths before letting you know you went the wrong way 20 minutes ago.
The levels also have platforming sections. With the poor camera and the terrible jumping (sometimes your main character jumps too short) they’re bad enough, but the game then adds crumbling platforms and moving platforms, which the controls aren’t equipped to begin with. To make matters worse, you can get through a gruelling platform section only to encounter a locked door, and you need to go all the way back.
Tumblr media
ODT certainly had ideas of ambition. There are multiple characters to play as (including unlockable ones), the magic and upgrade systems are potentially good ideas and the world could be interesting if it wasn’t so ugly. They tried to to far too much with the controls that they ended up sacrificing the main movement of the game.
Sadly, ODT is a game with promise that just ended up squandering it inside far too much tedium.
With a CV comprising adidas Power Soccer and, er adidas Power Soccer International, Psygnosis’ French studio hasn’t got the most dazzling of gaming histories. However, with the fantastic ODT, it’s fortunes are about to take a rather rosy upturn.
- ODT preview, N64 Magazine #20
(Note: the developer was shortly shut down and absorbed into Sony)
Should it be finished?
It was! N64 owners certainly didn’t miss out on anything by this version being cancelled, but it is interesting to see the finished port.
Official ways to get the game.
The PC and PlayStation versions are available on Steam, however, I do not recommend these at all. This is from PIKO Interactive. The PC version is just a re-release of the original, no resolution/widescreen options. The game crashes a lot and the music flat out doesn’t work. The PlayStation version is set up poorly in an emulator (the Steam reviews even suggest using the ROM in a different emulator).
PIKO have said that their license includes the unfinished N64 version but, like Glover, don’t expect much other than an overly expensive release with Limited Run games.

Such an underrated series. Nintendo should remaster Punch Out Wii for the switch in 2024. Would be perfect for the console's final year.

SURVEY RESULTS!!
So!! It's that time, folks! By the time this posts, the survey will have formally been closed. Thank you so, so much to the 65 participants. I never expected to get so many responses, and I owe the Warframe community big-time.
I am planning on eventually releasing platform-specific data as I compile it, alongside any other neat correlations I spot. I did this mostly for fun- the assignment's bar was low, but I took it pretty far because I enjoyed it- so I'm not a professional or anything at statistics! There will likely be inaccuracies, and I may occasionally miss data on accident.
So! This post is dedicated to sharing the data from all platforms. The data of everyone who participated is represented under the cut.
One more thing before I share the results! I want to give a massive shoutout to the following Tenno:
Operator Faolan (@decoyroid), Operator Bunny (@clockworkcrow), the Harrow Prime Operator/Kullervo Drifter, the person with the old Cephalon OC, Operator Lucille/Drifter Dove (the Accidentally Transgender Tenno), Operator Bird/Drifter Shrike (@aconfusedzephyr), the Wooden Puppet Warframe, The Gremlin Siblings, the person with several dozen warframe OCs (I'm calling you Costco bc you bought them in bulk it seems), Operator Mira (@yareli-warframe), the Mostly Dead Idiots person, the Infested Operator based on SCP-610, Fish Bait the Nezha, the author of the Symbiosis Trilogy, Operator Giraffe/Drifter Sarah, the Void Witch Operator, Meet and Starry, Limbo Umbra, Crab Frost, Operator Enara/Drifter Shrike (@ookamisoulreaper), Operator Ayatan, The Toothpick Tenno, Operator Kepler/Drifter Cam (@mythandlaur), and Operator Beth.
I adored hearing about your OCs, and it's always so good to see the community's creativity. I'm happy to do a little warframe sketch or something as thanks if you reach out to me in DMs.
With thanks aside, let's get to the data! :D

No Case Should Remain Unsolved coming to Switch on September 19 - Gematsu
Tumblr media
PLAYISM will release Somi-developed mystery adventure game No Case Should Remain Unsolved for Switch on September 19, the companies announced.
No Case Should Remain Unsolved first launched for PC via Steam on January 17.
Here is an overview of the game, via its Steam page:
About
“I remember how surprised I was when I first saw this case. Everyone involved was lying, for one reason or another.” No Case Should Remain Unsolved is a detective game where players uncover and piece together memory fragments to solve a long-forgotten case. Follow former police detective Jeon Gyeong as she acquires clues and testimony relating to the case of a missing girl.
Story
February 5, 2012. A little girl named Seowon is reported missing from a playground. Police launch an investigation and question witnesses and suspects, but Seowon’s case is never solved. Twelve years after Senior Inspector Jeon Gyeong’s retirement, she is visited by a young police officer: a woman who pleads with her to reexamine Seowon’s case. But with each uncovered memory, only one thing becomes clear: everyone in Seowon’s vicinity was lying.
Key Features
Experience an imaginative reasoning system where players connect memories like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle.
Uncover passcodes, keys, 54 conversations, and two hidden truths.
Over the course of a two to three-hour playthrough, players will learn why Seowon’s disappearance is the only case Jeon Gyeong has left unsolved.

Recap of my AAIC Countdown

Today's topic: a Recap of my Investigations Collection Countdown!
And here we finally are at the end of the road! Tomorrow will be the release day of the Investigations Collection and that brings this countdown to the end. I had a lot of fun doing this and it made the 80 days since the day of announcement pass by enjoyably quickly! It also took a lot of effort to take all the pictures and write out all these posts so I more often then not had trouble keeping with the schedule of one post a day. J.League Live 64
Tumblr media Tumblr media
JP release: 28th March 1997
PAL release: N/A
NA release: N/A
Developer: EA
Publisher: EA
Tumblr media
J.League Live 64 is essentially FIFA 64 for the Japanese J.League. However, it does have notable differences from the Western version of the game, the most obvious being far fewer teams as it’s just the one league.
However, there are some improvements. The HUD is miles better, showing the score and the name of the current player you control. There is also some team management, so you can change your starting squad and make substitutions. The “GOAL” and similar text is also nice an colourful.
Tumblr media
The gameplay, however, feels even more broken than FIFA 64. Passing once again is often wrong, with your player passing behind you or even empty space. This time round, it doesn’t recognise you pressing the button half of the time. To counter this, the opponent AI is pretty terrible, and even set up a few shots for me by doing a lob from near the corner into their own box.
Slowdown is also a worse problem, with the game chugging and then rapidly speeding up, leading to mistakes. This really is a terrible game.
The speed of the game is infuriatingly slow. Even the advent of a speed-up button does nothing to encourage pacy wing play or break away goals, as a press of the very same button equates to only the tiniest injection of extra leg work.
Tim Weaver, N64 Magazine #3 (FIFA 64)
Remake or Remaster?
This is an even worse version of FIFA 64, nobody needs reminding of that.
Official ways to get the game.
There is no official way to get J.League Live 64.

6, 8, 23, 54, 70 Axet/Jia...the them <3
Under da cut :3c
Who cleans the most? Contrary to that, who is the messiest?
Surprisingly I think the both of them are incredibly tidy and neat! Axeltl seems like the guy who would be fine walking into chaos and destruction but he prefers things in order. Not to an Obsessive level, but he's able to clean up mistakes or recklessness of his own really well.
Who tends to worry the most?
Jianni easily. Axel definitely worries but not as much as Jianni.. He thinks she needs to loosen up a bit.. Albeit with her previous work life, he can't blame her but he hopes with some time.. Maybe she'll be able to chill?
What do they do when they’re bored and together?
Pulls out Nintendo switch... Queries?
I think a lot of their boredom is cured by enjoying video games or watching cartoons/anime together.. Pretty funny for the serious work they do but hey.. Who cares! It's fun for them! Plus Axel always has the newest releases in his house.
What do others think of them dating?
I think most people in their sphere are rather happy for them, not too surprised considering they know them.. But people who know Jianni outside of work and Axel too? This is like polar opposites. He's the "Bad boy" to most other people.. so seeing him with a "Nerd" is really jarring for his drinking buddies. Axel doesn't care! In fact? Kiss his ass!
Who is the hopeless romantic?
AXEL HANDS DOWN.. he's the world's biggest sap and corny.. He will pull out that line "Will you be my player 2?" type of sayings..

Here’s my note before I’ll get started….
(NO COPYING OR PLAGIARIZING FROM ME AND ONE OF MY CLOSEST FRIEND’S WORK! THAT INCLUDES OUR CHARACTERS, DESIGNS, STUFF, ETC. IMPOSTERS AND SEXBOTS ARE NOT WELCOME TO FOLLOW MY BLOG WHATSOEVER! 😡 That will be all….I mean it.)
Item Review of 2023 - My NexiGo NS32 Controller (Part 1/Unboxing and Comparison) (March. 15th, 2023)
I’m up for another review share, everyone! Previously where I got the mashup style for three of my new accessories, it’s time I went moving on for something controlling tech related. Today is where I’m getting started with my new video game controller I’d obtain from last year’s Christmas. Same goes to my new Xbox controller; which will be waiting for my future review soon. For now, here’s mine to share first: A NexiGo NS32 Controller. I’d picked it from Amazon.com for $40 affordable price; at least as an alternative choice. The reason because originally I’m supposed to get this new controller from the same brand I had with the TV Dock. (Link Here #1) (Link Here #2)
It was a bit disappointing, but hope there’s another time to save it the near future. At least I got with this one from the brand NexiGo; in which had all kind of tech and accessories to check out. (Link Here #3)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
⬆️ (1st through 4th Images; after unboxing and checking my new controller from front to back) (March. 15th; from 2:44 P.M. to 2:50 P.M.)
Anyways, here’s what I picked for a new controller; as I going through unboxed and making comparisons to my previous controllers. Except with my Joy-Cons because it’s different from these controllers I’m using. I’ll see I can save it after this review is done.
While going through unboxing for a moment, the package does includes the USB Type-C charging cable and a user manual. This is sure to be enough to get started with my new controller. Speaking in which, it features turbo function and displaying RGB Lighting. Nice! This is the first time I’ll be using for my Nintendo Switch system; especially if I would to try out its turbo functionality. Hope it won’t be too complicated while working on either of my games I have. Did I forget to mention the color theme I’ve picked? The “Comic Nebula” theme looks nice to choose. There’s other variety themes to choose from, but at least I’m going for with this one.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
⬆️ (5th through 10th Images; after did a comparison to my other video game controllers) (March. 15th; from 3:36 P.M. to 3:41 P.M.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
⬆️ (11th through 12th Images; I nearly forget til a month later; as I already did this one while doing stacking each controllers in side to side comparison) (April. 30th; from 9:56 A.M. to 9:57 A.M.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
⬆️ (13th through 14th Images; another one when trying to stack with my Xbox One controller) (May. 23rd; from 2:54 P.M. to 2:55 P.M.)
Now I’m moving to comparison with my two controllers; from Xbox One to my old YCCTEAM controller. They’re in similarly shape and designed alike from my new controller to compared; so does everything else. However, the YCCTEAM controller fair match better with my new controller; aside having different color plates and grips after holding them together.
As for my Xbox One controller though, the stick caps apparently show its ages as I going through this review. Here’s a close-up look from its analog stick. I’ve tried to cover up with my other caps; which is from the unboxing accessories for my Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons. Though I know it was bit too small until I’m waiting for the bigger ones from Amazon.com.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
⬆️ (15th through 18th Images; where I’d covered with these caps) (May. 27th; from 1:22 P.M. to 1:25 P.M.)
Right now, my mom wasn’t here at the house while she’s on important work or something. Hoping she’ll be coming back home.
Anyways, hope you enjoy this first parter after unboxing and comparing to my other controllers. So far of my overall thoughts, it matches with my previous YCCTEAM controller right up. However with my new one stands out for its “Cosmic Nebula” color plate theme, RGB Lighting, and turbo functionality. Can’t wait to get started for the next one, but while going through testing phase first. I got it recorded in videos already, so don’t miss it. 😉👍

Check out Mark Darrah’s latest video in the Memories and Lessons series, “Jade Empire - Memories and Lessons”, for insights into and commentary on the development of Jade Empire. In it he talks about KOTOR & Neverwinter Nights, cancelled BioWare projects (Jade Empire 2, Jade Modern & Revolver), the tech stacks BioWare had going around the time when they were developing the first Dragon Age and Mass Effect games, and the possibility of and his thoughts on a Jade Empire 2 or Jade Empire 1 remaster coming out in the future. I thought the segments on Tho Fan and alien language and Kung Fu Panda were particularly interesting.
Video description:
Jade Empire was BioWare's first new IP since Shattered Steel (right at the start of the companies existence) While I was a lead on Baldur's Gate 2, Jade Empire was the first time I did things like scheduling and triage. Early in the development of Jade Empire, I was pulled onto Neverwinter Nights to build the DM client for that game as it closed in on ship.
