the asks are piling up already lol so here are some initial thoughts on the trailers from today (in order of release, BL/GLs are marked with a 🏳️‍🌈, favorites with a 🌟):

Ossan's Love Thailand 🏳️‍🌈🌟: HELP this looks so chaotic lmao. I forgot about the show for a second and thought we were in for another EarthMix office romance kjdhgd. But yeah I have a very soft spot for Earth in chaotic slapstick roles and Mix fits in there just perfect as well. I have not seen the original and was concerned as a lot of people said it's not very good but I had a very good time with this trailer and I'm excited!!! .

Leap Day 🌟: I've been curious about this project ever since that casting call for younger versions of Dew and Pond lol and the trailer did not disappoint! The story seems interesting and I know Gun will eat in this role lol. It's going on my watchlist. .

The Heart Killers 🏳️‍🌈: **edit: not gonna lie, initially I was very disappointed by this. I was excited for the Jojo show but this seemed very random to me. I couldn't follow the story and the trailer just seemed like FK and JD were given a few guns and thrown into a dark setting which just seems like a clash of NLMG and OF. If JD weren't there, I would think this is a SandRay spinoff lol. I now know about the Shakespeare adaption which does change the way I view it a little bit but I still have concerns because I still have no idea what's going on lmao. I was hoping for something simpler and calmer for FK's new project so I really hope the show will be better than the trailer. .

Friendshit Forever: Legit thought this was a GL for the first 30 seconds of the trailer lmao but turns out it's another Beauty Newbie type of toxic friendship lol. I love the vibe though!!! the cast is amazing, Pat never fails to deliver and my girl Mook is back as well!! 🥺 I'm very much into the energy and the chemistries are on point as well. Sign me up!! .

Perfect10 Liners 🏳️‍🌈: If I took my glasses off I would think this is We Are season 2 lmao like do we really need another gay ensemble. And there's SO many others as well??? There were like 30 people on that stage lmao. New really said who doesn't have a job this year? done. I don't know what else to say, it looks very generic. I didn't expect PerthChimon to be part of an ensemble for their second bl and I sure did not expect ForceBook to get their 5th gig lmao. Good for them though. I'm still gonna take a look. .

Us 🏳️‍🌈🌟: YES I LOVE THIS 😩😭 I was hoping we would get another GL and I loooove the energy of this. It's giving all the COA vibes and I'm SO glad it's not another highschool romcom. 23.5 is nice but I'm so happy this is taking it one step further. I'm here for it. Emi was born for sapphic roles you can't change my mind lmao and her chemistry with Bonnie is on point. Simple story, big emotions and a strong cast - This is right up my alley. It's going on my list for sure. .

Hide & Sis: The title still cracks me up lmao but YES this is everything lol. The PLL/PSIHY vibes are STRONG and I love it. Snap25 never fails to deliver us badass girl gangs and I'm here for it. The toxic family trope is generic for these types of shows but if it's done right it works. And I think this will. Sign me up! .

Heart That Skips a Beat 🏳️‍🌈🌟: god don't even touch me this looks so lovely 🥹 I'm always down for a good idol x mundane romance lol and EstWilliam are a good pair for sure. It was kind of obvious that they would get something together but I'm still very excited. I didn't expect the whole LYKN group to be in it but I feel like this plot fits them very well. Plus the trailer is absolutely beautiful. Thumbs up!! .

Break Up Service: This looks meh to me, I'm surprised to see Jorin lol I didn't know she was acting. The story seems fun but the trailer did not catch my attention. It's a maybe for now. .

Revamp 🏳️‍🌈: Honestly I did not expect them to give us another trailer for this lol I was set on a different project for BounPrem. But yes this looks very expensive lmao and I'm hyped we're getting another vampire show this year. I also approve of the other cast members, especially Kay since I haven't seen him in forever lol and also Santa!! I will be tuning in! .

Sweet Tooth, Good Dentist 🏳️‍🌈🌟: *starts vibrating violently* YES I FEEL NORMAL ABOUT THIS kjshdf call me crazy but this is my highlight of this lineup lmao. I got deeply attached to MarkOhm over the last few months and this is all I could ever ask for lmao. Ohm is my little squish and my boy Mark finally got his main role 😩 I'm so proud. The plot is not the most sophisticated lol but I am SEATED. GIMME. .

Dark Dice: This did not intrigue me whatsoever. Pass. .

The Ex-Morning 🏳️‍🌈: Anyone who spent any time on the internet in the last few months knew this was bound to happen lmao. I feel torn about it, K. is not off the hook but KS were my very first bl on-screen couple and I'm feeling very nostalgic about this comeback lol. I'm fond of the trend to bring back OG couples and I'm not gonna lie, yes, it looks good. The story is interesting and the fact that they play exes,,,, art imitates life lol. I think this genre suits them and hey, maybe this will become the second Cherry Magic. Let's see how it goes. .

Scarlet Heart Thailand: The trailer gave us next to no information, I'm guessing that if you saw the original you might have a better idea of what's going on but other than pretty costumes, this didn't give me much ground to make a judgement on lol. Let's see.

conclusion: All in all this lineup seems a lot more colorful than part 1 which is very exciting!! It had the typical light-to-dark structure that the first part (and all the previous ones) had as well but it's still more diverse than I was expecting. There are some disappointments and concerns but compared to part 1, this has a lot more promising projects that I will be tuning in for - Even the lakorns. I spent a lot of time on Twitter leading up to the event, so almost everything I put on my bingo card became reality lol. I noticed some changes in the production of the trailers where it seems that they are more carefully made and edited and I found myself connecting emotionally with them a lot more than in part 1. Overall I'm very happy with this lineup and I will be putting all of these shows on my watchlist with the exception of 1 or 2, which is something I couldn't say about part 1. Thumbs up!! 🧡

My Top 5 GMMTV Couples of 2023

I. JimmySea (Jimmy Jitaraphol & Sea Tawinan)

ppl would probably be concerned if i didn't answer jimmy and sea. i've been here with them for over 1,5 years now and my love for them hasn't diminished at all. there's just something so comforting and genuine about them. their presence and their performances (on stage and on-screen) feel like a hug to me. i loved puentalay to bits, i am currently head over heels in love with morkday, and i keep hoping this isn't the end. gmmtv2024 part 2 will give us a new series with them bc they cannot just throw aside the depths these two have found for their relationship ♥

II. ForceBook (Force Jiratchapong & Book Kasidet)

witnessing their glorious comeback this year made me so happy. after an unjustified onslaught of hate and a long stay in gmm's basement, their chance to shine again was well overdue. enchanté and akktheo convinced me of their extraordinary chemistry, and this year forcebook truly outdid themselves in both of their series. guncher in a boss and a babe became very dear to me, and topmew showed sides of them i didn't know even existed. they've grown so much, and i hope the upcoming year only brings them more opportunities that let them shine even brighter ♥

III. OffGun (Off Jumpol & Gun Atthaphan)

probably my oldest bl actor cp. i first got to know them after theory of love where i absolutely adored khaithird. i know the majority (?) hated that show but i loved it to bits. i watched puppy honey soon after to see more of them, but never really felt too strongly about pickrome. i went around the internet to learn a bit about them as actors and people for a while but they never really stuck with me then. and then not me and seanwhite happened. offgun took over my heart again and i was truly sad when i thought not me would be their last bl. but then they announced cooking crush! and now we get the trainee too! and i just think my love for them will never end; they've been here with me through it all, in one way or another ♥

IV. PondPhuwin (Pond Naravit & Phuwin Tangsakyuen)

during the surge of bl in my life that begun with bad buddy (and maybe not me too), i binged a ton of other/older gmmtv (bl) series. fish upon the sky was one of them, and even if i never quite liked that series, i loved the chemistry between pond and phuwin. i've actually known phuwin since his acting debut under gmm (when he was a true baby) and was curious to see him with a new face. i was even more excited when i realized they would be getting a new chance with never let me go as palmnueng would introduce a very different type of setting for them. now they're very dear to me as i also came to know pond and especially phuwin as people ♥

V. MarcPawin (Marc Natarit & Pawin Thanik)

the black sheep of my 2023 that i never saw coming. honestly, i wasn't a big fan of my gear and your gown, and so i thought i was not hooked on these two. then they got their glorious comeback during the nlmg our skyy 2 eps and a whole ass tsunami were put in motion in my brain. the wave hit shore when they started getting side couple vibes in dangerous romance and finally got to kiss again. and now we have we are where these two are about to be one of the couples (still not sure if they're main or not). am obsessed. i love this comeback for them. i hope this carries them further than ittpai ever did ♥

Bonus: Mark Pakin + Everyone

i think my school president and his role as tiw started the rise of one mark pakin. after that, the year 2023 has truly been His Year. he's gone from tiw and being paired with ford to appearing as saleng in moonlight chicken where he was paired with view to then appearing again as tiw who was even more prominently with por (ford) to getting paired with neo in only friends as nick and now ending his year as night in last twilight where we've seen the first hints of him being paired with namtan. boy keeps changing partners like socks and it's absolutely brilliant bc he has chemistry with everybody. he's even teased new upcoming projects with a new partner (ohm thi?) and keeps saying he's truly fine with any partner and anyone we'd like to ship him with. an icon. a legend. i love him a lot.

We Are - Ep 1-3

What I liked:

it's such a classic 🤡 Engineering faculty, their clothes, college vibe, engineering students v. art students - classic and nostalgia in one

lots of classic tropes

the characters as students and young people are very natural, the conversations are casual, it is shown how they study, party, work, have a deadlines, have close friendships, their own groups of friends. Actually, I enjoyed scenes from their ordinary lives, not related to romance, just... slice of life. For example, Peem and Q's relationship is 👌

Tan is absolutely DELIGHTFUL. I have never been a big fan of this actor, but as is often the case, all he needed was the right role in which he had a chance to shine. Aou as Tan dominates every scene and is naturally funny. His "oooooiiiiiiiiiiii" makes me smile every time 😁

not only Aou was better in this series, I also like Winny more here than in MSP

I really like Pond and Phuwin, so I'm glad to see them again

What I don't like:

*siiiigh* being someone's "slave" as a motive for revenge… *massages temples*, it's such a stupid, old, tiring and cringe trope and it doesn't fit this series at all, besides, really, it's 2024, let it die already

I really like Pond and Phuwin, and having said that, it drives me crazy for them to have ANOTHER series where AGAIN one of them plays a toxic asshole. And I mean a real asshole, not a charming bad boy. In FUTS Pond played a dick, in NLMG Phuwin played such a character, and now Pond is a dick again. It's true that his Phum apologized at the end of episode 3, so maybe there is a chance for improvement, but I don't know, there is some kind of curse hanging over this pairing. I wholeheartedly wish them a good series and a good script in which both of them are kind, equal and neither of them exploits, gaslights, or even abuses the other and all this under the guise of "love" 😬

Anyway, I liked the first 3 episodes, Tan is the best, and I'm very happy to see Phuwin again, whose character I can fully enjoy again, like in FUTS 😚

Dangerous Romance, Ep. 5 Thoughts

There were a couple cute moments, but for the most part, another unremarkable episode.

My current thoughts are primarily rooted around the following:

Marc and Pawin seem to have the stronger, more legible chemistry than Perth and Chimon in even just the thirty seconds of screen time they have together. Some of this is probably actor comfortability, but what I think I am noticing that is throwing me off of Perth and Chimon's chemistry is honestly primarily in the timing and the framing. The timing is just a little bit off, the camera doesn't linger quite long enough to establish the tension, the background music either. When Marc and Pawin's characters shake hands in the basketball scene, you can see both the challenge in their eyes, and also they cut back to their hands two or three separate times and you can see the force/grip strength tightening.

I think Perth is doing better than Chimon at playing the chemistry when they are actually face to face, but that Chimon has a lot of fantastic reactions to everything going on outside of having to look Perth in the eye. That said, their chemistry is definitely much stronger now than it was in Never Let Me Go. I feel like another contribution to the chemistry problem for me is that they are trying to have Kang and Sailom be Boys the way that Pat and Pran were Boys aka, they are fighting/wrestling all the time, but there is not enough established underlying sexual tension and history between them and the timing isn't where it needs to be to be able to recreate the "this wrestling is flirting" vibe.

If ViewJune are set up to be in a relationship, I am dropping the show. Not because I don't love View and June, (I am very much looking forward to seeing them play off each other in 23.5 degrees) but because June is playing a teacher in this show, and while I will tolerate a student's unrequited crush on a teacher, I despise student/teacher requited relationship plots

I am still disappointed they have put all these really juicy plots to the side to instead give us a fucking love triangle. Especially because they have some powerhouse fucking actors headlining this show, (if you haven't watched View in 10 Years Ticket, go do it). Chimon is fantastic in Home School. Perth was strong in NLMG imo, but I know he's in other things I haven't seen. They can do complicated dynamics, they are all good enough actors to navigate all those complexities and I do not feel like they are being allowed to play in that space, and instead the writers are playing it safe with the script.

They are using too many flashbacks to "sweet moments" that I just don't think we've really earned yet, and I am still having trouble seeing where the writers are trying to go with this show considering how many interesting plots they rushed past.

I'm still sad thinking about what this show could have been, especially considering that there has been a massive wave of strong, complex stories coming out of Thai BLs this year.

i think dbk is honestly overrated, or at least that's how i felt about it. i get why people love it so much, but it left a very sour taste in my mouth. going into 2gether, i had already seen a lot of negativity about it, so i expected it to get bad (it did) but i did expect dbk to be a lot more bearable. i think the show just felt so stagnant in terms of petekao, and while i appreciate what it did with the coming out plot, i feel like petekao as a relationship felt really weak and i didn't really root for them to be together?

i didn't like how we could see how pete's possessive behavior having negative impacts on their relationship, and kao feeling compelled to hide things as a result (like, god. he wanted him to just refuse to tutor the kid cuz hes jealous?) was something that instead of being addressed seemed validated. i like flaws, i loooove when characters have big personality flaws, even. but this felt like it was just being validated. we get the vibe that pete was right, and at the end, kao affirms that he likes that pete is possessive. i feel like this would have landed a lot better if instead of possessiveness that feels detrimental, pete grew into being possessive but also respecting this boyfriend. it just felt. odd.

look. i love established relationship and i also ADORE break ups. i think a good break up -> getting back together can be really interesting. i am an exes to lovers enthusiast. but i also almost had zero care about petekao getting back together (this also happened when i watched kiss me again before dbk. i just did not care that much. as a side note the person who directed 2gether, puppy honey, kiss me again, teenage mom, social death vote, etc is my mortal enemy as a 4 pillars fan who has STRONG opinions on the quality of these???) because the show really just made me feel their relationship was really unstable at its foundation? of course, i know they’re good for each other. for example, pete becomes better because of kao. still? didn’t quite work for me.

then there's non. i have no idea how "18year old with a crush on kao who goes too far" became the main driving force of the entire story, because i think there were a multitude of ways to explore the coming out plot poignantly and non was! not it! and i've never enjoyed how they wrote non in the end. in a show where we sympathize with kao for his fear of coming out, i didn't like how we were pitted against the 18yr old with a shitty parent who was scared of coming out. yeah, he fucked up massively and almost ruined kao's life. i get that. but do i think not addressing the massive "bad parent" motivation elephant in the room felt odd? how is it a happy ending that he's just definitely going to suffer cuz of his goddamn strict dad? do we just not care about non? maybe i'm just overly sensitive about this as someone who sympathizes with people who do things because of the fear of their parents (looking at you, ben from nlmg!) and thought it was insulting to me personally that the show said that "a parent will always know what their children are" (i disagree) also pretty much abandoned non? i get most people just found him annoying, but damn. i felt bad. non is like pete in ways, but even more immature and without the presence of a supportive father

oh our skyy was bizarre to me, by the way. less relevant to my opinions on dbk but the characterization was SO off in it and it just felt unneeded. and i’m a kongart our skyy lover so maybe it’s that i subconsciously compared it (our skyy petekao just feels so markedly Not PeteKao of kiss me again OR dbk!) also this didn’t factor into my voting but the continuity changing between kma our skyy and dbk really annoyed me as someone who watched it in order.

i liked sunmork, but a side couple can never save a show for me. the ost & cinematography was nice as well (i looped the theme song so much!) but unfortunately, the show really didn’t work for me. honestly, dbk vs 2gether was hard for me because, well (i could write a rant of this length on 2gether 😭😭😭 maybe longer actually) yeah. but that’s the fun of the competition!

I agree almost completely with everything you say about DBK. Despite finding Non extremely annoying, it left a terrible taste in my mouth that the reason why he was such a dickhead was never addressed and I agree that he got dealt a terrible hand by the narrative.

As for SunMork, I understand your feelings but I have to say that if it wasn't for them I would have never finished DBK. Although it's also true that I watched Not Me way before DBK which endeared to me Gawin soooo much and was also already extremely in love with Podd. That is to say, I was personally invested.

The only episode from that season of Our Skyy I watched was the Puppy Honey one which I liked better than the entire show, so I can't really say anything on the matter of PeteKao there.

I had a completely different experience when first coming into contact with 2gether too and in fact, part of the reason I hate it so much is that I saw nothing but praise for it before watching it and it made me so fucking mad. All the people hailing 2gether as this fantastic, incredible, amazing, showstopping, revolutionary show made me extremely suspicious and then I watched it and completely hated it, and the suspicion turned into absolute fury. Especially when I see it compared to other, better shows as something they should aspire to be.

I realise I'm coming off as extremely mean about it but it pulls some visceral reactions out of me so I'll just stop here before I cross a line.

basically i’m looking at how the text showcases how soft power/ideological structures like schools/church/media/art (specifically schools and art in this case) reinforce the status quo and cause people to internalise their societal roles etc.

i also think the way it plays with utopian/dystopian genres is sOoo interesting like. the pastoral idealised Boarding School Vibes feels very utopian but a lot of utopian ideals require some level of authoritarianism and. hmmm. like a homogenisation of ideals that pretty much always dismisses the wants/needs of more marginalised people. and i feel like nlmg Gets It because the way the world is described for non-clones is kind of utopian with the whole No Sickness thing. and even amongst the clones hailsham is considered a sort of utopia compared to other schools or whatever.

idk honestly i could talk about SO much but my essay is examining it through marxist literary analysis so i’m basically focusing on althusser’s concepts and how they apply to the text but there’s SOOOOOO much to examine from so many different angles i would love to know what your dissertation was about !!! feel free to dm me because idk what counts as spoilers anymore skdhsjd

that sounds super interesting and absolutely a valid angle to take it on. i am absoultely not an expert on it though lmao. my disso was how grief is portrayed in nlmg and one other book so I didn't touch on authoritarian power structures except in relation to who is considered grievable (which if you want to explore id recommend judith butlers frames of war)

I think there's a lot to say on the topic. At the top of my head there's how Tommy was ostracised because he was bad and art and later chose to not take part in the gallery. There's when he was mocked for his little animals. There's when they meet with madame and in the time prior he obsessively draws little animals in order to show her. When they touch madame as kids and she looks at them as if they're spiders. Their limited access to the outside world. Even as adults they have limited time to themselves either being too busy as carers or needing permission to travel. How there's never even rumours of people who escaped. Cathy never really mentions surveillance or something like they're chipped, they're just so indoctrinated that they don't even bother trying to escape the system.

I think boarding schools as well is interesting because it draws on school stories in historical british fiction. Some stories (jane eyre) present these schools as a place of suffering and a child's first insight to injustices in the world, but still preferable to her home life. whereas I think most often they were serialised stories that portray the growing character of a child/children. So I think looking at halisham is interesting as well in this dual place boarding schools hold in the canon and how it fulfills both in nlmg (kathy looks back at this time fondly but most of the stories she tells aren't very happy) I think isolation plays into this as well. I'm thinking of the abandoned bus stop they hang out ??? But I coukd be misremembering. Ya know they live in a pastoral heaven but they also live in the middle of nowhere.

I think it could be interesting to look at how there's the no sickness thing but when kathy and Tommy meet madame and their other teacher again (forgot her name) I think one of them is physically disabled? Or at least she is in the film. Like all ailments aren't eradicated and they can't feasibly be. I think a comparison to the child of omelas could be made, a utopia of sorts built off of the subjugation of a class of people, except instead of walking away the class is so dehumanised the idea of it they even have souls is put to question.

I think your topic is really interesting and like you said there's So Much you could say about it all of the time. I recommend the book to everyone I can and when they finish it I like to ask them what they think it'd About (the same question proposed to my seminar group when I studied it at uni) and everyone's answers differed somewhat but a Marxist reading of 'it's about how our bodies are reduced to our labour" was the most popular one i think. I'm not familiar with althusser and I have work in 10 minutes so i dont think id be able to find + read his work in time but overall I think your idea is incredibly thought out, unique and you could dor sure get an amazing grade in it

Why Don't You Stay - I'm a sucker for Jeff Satur's voice. He's got such a nice tone, and the song itself captures the more loving, less brutal side of KP. I also have to credit this song with turning me into a Jeff Satur fan in general.

Over the Moon - I'm afraid this is where my bias starts to show, haha. The Eclipse is such a special show to me, and like KP, I think OTM captures the youthfulness of the series with its more heavy themes. It also just reminds me of AkkAyan so much every time I listen to it, and I can't help but reminisce; they truly were a cultural reset for me. It's not a song I jam to like Free Fall, but I'd be lying if I said I don't get all in my feels while listening to it (esp with The Eclipse's anniversary just the other day)

Your World, My World - Every time I hear this, I remember just how much Our Skyy2 LOVED the guitar riff at the beginning. Seriously, the AkkAyan ep must've used that same guitar riff at least 3+ times per scene. Not that I'm complaining though. Like Over the Moon, I think it captures the AkkAyan dynamic well--and, might as well say it, it feels like FirstKhao's anthem at this point.

Let's Try - The newest addition to the list. I can't stop listening to it. Obviously I'm a fan of Khaotung's other OSTs (see above) but this is a whole new vibe for him that he matched perfectly. The high note?? Golden. Haven't seen anyone else point this out, but there's a special muffled effect they put on his voice in the last chorus that just...speaks to me. I can't explain it.

I know I'm only supposed to do 5, but I'm gonna give a special shoutout to Living For You from NLMG because it's just...so sweet. I don't know how else to describe it. Phuwin's deep voice, the piano...NuengPalm is so soft despite the brutality of their world and this song is a perfect encapsulation of that.

I am down for anything at this point. I like them both as actors and I'm pleased with how they're working together so far. I am very much looking forward to seeing how they move forward because that's definitely going to matter.

I can already tell the characters are going to be fascinating and I care much more about character chemistry than actor chemistry.

But for most people that will matter a lot. So we need to see how they work together in the romantic sense.

I am thrilled to get this chance to see them together in these roles, honestly. I love seeing actors together as a side couple before seeing them as a main couple because it really is an interesting shift.

I love the idea that Dangerous Romance could be a spiritual prequel to Never Let Me Go. It definitely could work with the trailer vibes.

I think Never Let Me Go would have benefited from not being a Mafia BL. All of it's plot beats can be executed and plenty would be uplifted if instead of being Mafia Children they were Business Children. Just regular colloquially legitimate business. It would make them themes more prominent and it would justify their incompetence. Mafia is serious. Even in Kinnporsche-haha- we are having gay sex and this bloodline will die - what the fuck dad why is there a lady in the attic or Love in the Air - more gay sex - Raindrop sneaking into an illegal race - no thoughts, just vibes, The Mafia was treated with the seriousness and respect it deserves. These are ruthless, cruel people. And NLMG is too unserious about the Mafia. So if they had been rich kids it would have been holistically better for the entire story.

I finally gave in and caught up with Dangerous Romance and I have some thoughts (with spoilers).

I really did enjoy episodes 2 and 3 a lot, they had some really great moments in them and were executed beautifully. Not gonna lie, I was pretty swayed into loving them as a ship (I feel like I can write a whole post about the steaks is2g).

Did I enjoy episode 1? YES, very much so as well!!! I did find some scenes very difficult to watch, but I was still pretty satisfied with it! Unlike what's done in a similar premise with nlmg (disclaimer, I hated that series) where Palm is mostly a doormat to Nueng's abuse and treatment, here I LOVED how Sailom kicked ass and stood his ground, not taking Kang's shit. It did make me hate Kang (and co) with passion, and love Sailom (and co) with passion as well, and I thought Kang would need some SERIOUS redemption for me to root for him.

Then in episode 2 and 3 he was suddenly so much milder? Where it was established he would stand his ground and be an asshole in episode 1, he suddenly acted flustered and caved in. Suddenly he showed compassion that simply does not align with the characteristics given to him in episode 1 through his actions there.

Before, he was straight-up cruel, the way he treated Auto, the way he wanted the poor to bow down to him, the way he tried to make Sailom lose his car job and scholarship!!! and did succeed in making him lose his tutoring job! The way he tried to force him to kiss his friend to HUMILIATE HIM. He doesn't give a shit it's someone's life and future and doesn't respect their humanity, he'll abuse his power and enjoy it. I was waiting to see the sob story of his family but then nope. He's just an asshole.

Then, in episode 2 and 3 suddenly it's just, not the case?

Suddenly he feels bad for Sailom? When Sailom tells him he'd tutor him he's "bickering" back, all flustered, even though he's much more likely to smack him to have his way like he'd do before?

I do have a slight hope the cruel bullying will be acknowledged because Sailom had flashbacks of Kang's awful behavior last episode. If I were Sailom, I could never forgive what Kang did to my friends just like that.

The thing is, I think that they could establish the "enemies to friends" feel, the "rich asshole" vibe, without going so far and it would work a lot better, no need to go to this extreme we're shown in episode 1. He could have been just an insecure asshole who thinks he's better than everyone- like they show him skipping in line, taking over cafeteria tables.. other jerk behaviors that are obviously bad, but can be played off as an entitled bratty rich kid who should become better, and not an actual evil cruel sadistic person.

I'm very curious to see where they'll go next with the series, it does have a lot of potential and great acting all around and the premise is more interesting than I thought it'd be. I would continue to enjoy it even if they gloss over this cruelty and I would give Kang the benefit of the "being a fictional character", but man I would LOVE it if they actually give us a proper redemption :')

GMMTV 2024 part 1 - review

But here are my thoughts on the announced shows from today (in order of announcement, BLs are marked with a 🏳️‍🌈, personal favorites are marked with a 🌟):

My Precious The Series: This project has been lingering around for 4 years now since it was announced and I'm tired lmao why are they making this into a series now??? I have many questions. I never had any desire to watch the movie, it seems like a generic coming of age drama oozing with unnecessary nostalgia so it's a pass for me. .

Ploy's Yearbook (🌟): I like this one!!!! It's giving I'm Tee Me Too but with a female ensemble cast, all of which are fantastic and also the rest of the cast is very promising and we're in for a lot of new ships - I was hoping Earth and the other 30yr olds would finally be free of the blue shorts but maybe this the last one 🤡 but anyway yes I will definitely be tuning into that one 👍🏻 .

We Are (🏳️‍🌈): I'm just gonna go ahead and assume this is the WabiSabi show because it looks terrible. Like how lazy do you have to be to just throw a bunch of BL side- and 1 mainstream couple into the same show with the most basic plot you can think of like what a joke?? WinnySatang are another side couple in this so either they're getting their actual debut show in part 2 or this has all been a scam lol. I expected a lot more, same goes for AouBoom and MarcPawin, who I was hoping would maybe get a comeback show. Also PondPhuwin going from NLMG to this is.... a choice. Don't wanna judge too fast but the trailer made it seem like no effort went into this at all. Hoping for a better end result. .

The Trainee (🏳️‍🌈): Oh look!!! It's OffGun show number 6 lmao rip. I'm not gonna comment on this matter again, I guess they'll just be around forever and that's that lmao. But anyway I'm a little confused by this show, the premise seems fun but?? I have questions lol. I'm excited to see View and Piploy though and I'll just keep an open mind. .

Only Boo (🏳️‍🌈): How did we go from Only Friends to Only Boo lmao what a downgrade. I wanted an all-newbie BL and I'm excited to finally see some new faces but I guess I fooled myself into anticipating a setting that's not highschool lmao. This is another show that I'm clearly too old for but it's also the MSP of 2024 and that ended up being nicer than expected so maybe this will be the same. We shall see. .

Pluto (🏳️‍🌈 🌟): I'm 😭😭😭 This was such a huge surprise I'm still shook lmao. Namtan and Film is not only a couple I never expected in 432 years lmao but also a very strong combination in terms of acting and I'm SO into it. They're revisiting a plot about a disability which is still something I'm dreading about Last Twilight so I guess it comes down to the director again. Let's hope they do it justice. Also the twin story could be tricky, I'm getting some Not Me vibes plot-wise but regardless the trailer looks super interesting to me, also Ciize and Kapook?? YES please. I'm so hyped for this!!!! 🥺 .

On Sale (🌟): Ghostbusters but make it TayNew? I love it lol this looks so fun, I'm very intrigued. I wasn't a huge fan of New before but he climbed up the ladder with The Warp Effect real fast because he undeniably excels at playing awkward goofy characters and this looks like another chance for him to showcase that lol. Him and Tay have always worked better as a comedic duo for me so I'm actually excited that this will be more of a bromance situation lol. Also Mook and Jan are excellent additions so I will be watching this for sure!! .

Ossan's Love Thailand (🏳️‍🌈, remake): I have very mixed feelings about this, I have not seen the original show but from what I've gathered, this does not seem fitting for EarthMix, also is it really necessary to remake another Japanese BL? But this is coming from someone who's not exactly a JBL connoisseur so I guess I'm biased. It seems that after MLC they became enthusiastic about the idea of casting EM in more mature roles which I endorse very much but aren't the people in the OG literally 40 💀 idk I'm curious to see what they make of it and also if we will ever get to see a trailer because we all know how that went with Cherry Magic lol. oh well. .

My Golden Blood (🏳️‍🌈🌟): Well well well. what do we have here. This is for sure the biggest surprise since Be My Favorite lmao I can't believe Gawin is bringing yet another retired BL actor back from the dead and this time it's supernatural kjdhgd. The vampire genre is something I never thought GMMTV would take on but like?? I'm excited?? I'm so happy to see my boy Gawin in another main role and Joss is such an interesting partner but he fits the genre very well imo lol. Also Neo and Mond?? I'm so ready. Hoping for a release around Halloween next year for obvious reasons lol ✌🏻 .

Kidnap (?): Another show another confusion lmao this looks like Double Savage 2.0 to me, Ohm is caught in another mafia situation but this time not with his brother but with someone who's either a bro or a 💖 bro 💖 lmao but this smells like bromance to me. Ohm would never. And besides that I'm not really intrigued. next. .

Summer Night: This is kinda strange because everything about this seems like a BL but... it's not? the first 30 seconds had me convinced PhuwinDunk were gonna be the new thing on the block lmao but yeah apparently not. If I squint my eyes I would think this is Hidden Agenda 2 but with more girls lol and tbh I expected another JD series but regardless the plot seems a bit generic to me so I'm on the fence about it for now. .

Wandee Goodday (🏳️‍🌈): This looks like the Walmart version of Only Friends tbh but guess what I'm on board lmao. It's AllThis Entertainment's new project which means no Eclipse Season 2 (thank god). Great and Inn are a pair I did not see coming and tbh I did not expect Great to even take on a BL role to begin with but I'm intrigued! The director has been moving on a vast spectrum of different genres lately and this is another one that's completely different from their previous works. But I'm excited. It looks kinky and violent. perfect. .

Highschool Frenemy: All I'm seeing is people beating each other up and calling each other friends afterwards so yeah. not my thing. next. .

My Love Mix-Up (🏳️‍🌈, remake): I'm not a huge fan of this, not just because I didn't like the original but because I was hoping to see GemFourth in a different setting. I'm confident they can do it justice though and deliver a good outcome, especially regarding the comedy, but other than that this isn't going on my watchlist for now. .

conclusion: this was a wild rollercoaster lol, every trailer was a stressful game of Het, Gay or Bromance lmao - The majority of this lineup was not to my liking but then again I appreciated the variety because from puppy love highschool romance to gay vampires is a spectrum you really can't complain about lmao. My 2 highlights for now are Pluto and My Golden Blood simply because they're both a massive surprise that they kept very well hidden lol, I'm also intrigued by Wandee Goodday and Ploy's Yearbook because those have great ensemble casts.

One thing I'm missing from the BL lineup though is a genuine romance, something that's deep and genuine and more mature. What they announced seems fun but for the most part either silly or drowned out by 32 couples at the same time lol. so I really hope we will get something a little more serious that also talks about lgbt issues in part 2; Something like Be My Favorite would be nice, maybe minus the supernatural element.

I did not expect them to announce 15 series already, considering this is only part 1 so who knows what part 2 will bring. I'm expecting FK to make an appearance as well as PerthChimon since they are the only 2 couples that have not shown up, also possibly JoongDunk because I can't imagine they would separate them just yet. Looking forward to December! ✌🏻

Hi! 😊 I don't know if it's that much of an unpopular opinion, but I'd like to get this off my chest. I don't get certain pairings as romantic, and it gets in the way of me enjoying a series. Like, I see them being buddies off screen, and then I still only see them as such in their dramas. The first that come to mind are, JoongDunk, PondPhuwin and ForceBook... I don't really mind their acting (I love Pond in NLMG) it's just that the romance isn't there for me. (And as for Joong I might not be over J9...). I mean no disrespect to the actors, nor anyone who enjoys them!

I don't know if I necessarily agree for these particular pairings bc I think pondphuwin have leveled up in a great direction with nlmg, forcebook seem to also go in an interesting direction with only friends (even though I'm not a fan of abaab already), and I personally don't follow joongdunk bc I don't really love the shows they have together. but there are definitely some pairings where I've felt like the vibes were more friendly than romantic, for example I think earthmix fit the bill quite a bit, or even fluke pusit & thor thinnaphan in the warp effect who do have great makeout scenes but imo feel more like friends the rest of the time than lovers. brightwin in 2gether also ABSOLUTELY had that vibe, by far the most from any pairing I've seen lol. also thank u for the compliment <3

literally one of my favourite mini-eras of their relationship. palm as an official personal bodyguard. they also look sooooooo fucking hot, just look at them!!!

i desperately want to analyse their fashion sense in-depth because i am obsessed with it. and it feels intentional. palm is genuinely stylish. his current change in status just built off of what he always wears, so he simply has a jacket on top of his standard tasteful hawaiian shirt and white low cut tank-top, he always accessorises and has a variety of bracelets and necklaces he wears as well. meanwhile, nueng is very much "i know which items of clothing i should wear for which occasion and... that's it", so he goes for a regular short-sleeved top + shorts pairing on the island and now wears a very straightforward suit and tie combo, and it all very much gives off a "someone else bought all these clothes for me and i'm just throwing together whatever my eyes fall on first" vibe.
