Spider Goth - Noah Walker
He's a ballet teacher who was bitten by a radioactive spider and bonded to a symbiote named Vice.
His primary hometown is Miami so because there aren't as many tall buildings to swing from, he often leaps around on rooftops and even swim! (Though he doesn't particularly enjoy the murky water. Vice on the other hand loves it, to Noah's dismay) He's more active at Night.
I'll explain more about him another time heh.

Non-food Gardens
While the change to settled agriculture during the Neolithic Revolution initially focused on food crops, it wasn't long until people began to keep gardens that were for pleasure and/or medicinal in nature. The ones that we remember are those that were set up by rulers.
Tumblr media
By Noah Wiener , Hanging Gardens of Babylon … in Assyrian Nineveh - http://www.biblicalarchaeology.org/daily/ancient-cultures/ancient-near-eastern-world/hanging-gardens-of-babylon-in-assyrian-nineveh/, Public Domain, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=57158048
One of the oldest, though it may be a thing of legend rather than strictly history, is the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, which are supposed to have been built by Nebuchadnezzar II, who reigned between 605-562 BCE, for his wife Queen Amytis, who missed the green of her homeland of Media. The first record that we have of them is from 290 BCE by a Babylonian priest named Berossus. They've also been attributed to a legendary queen Semiramis. Some now think that they are actually the gardens of Sennacherib, who reigned from 704-681 BCE, in Nineveh. Part of the reasoning for this is that the the gardens in Nineveh have been found in the archaeological record, Babylon was used for many cities, even Nineveh itself, because it means 'Gate of the Gods' and was seen as a proper name for the place where the king reigned, and Sennacherib and Nebuchadnezzar left quite a bit of documentation and only Sennacherib records building them, including describing the screw system to bring water up to the gardens. They were considered a year-round lush green oasis that also spurred improved water supply to Nineveh to keep the gardens blooming.

In Sri Lanka, the remains of a fortress called Sigiriya or Sinhagiri (which means Lion Rock and is written in Sinhala as සීගිරිය and in Tamil as சிகிரியா/சிங்ககிரி). With in this fortress is one of the oldest gardens in the world. There are three sections in the gardens, water, cave and boulder, and terraced gardens. These gardens are well preserved and we can see the planning of the gardens. These gardens were inhabited probably going back to prehistory, possibly as far back as 3000 BCE. In the 3rd century BCE, Buddhist monks began to occupy the area. In about 477 CE, King Kashyapa killed his father and took the throne. To have a more secure capital, he built a city on the top of the 200m tall rock, including the gardens. Many of the conduits in the water gardens are still working and help move water, especially during the rainy seasons.

Egypt had a rich culture of gardens, which probably started as a blend of fruit orchards and vegetable gardens, which gradually added flowers, ponds, and shade trees. These gardens were kept and tended in time with the rise and fall of the Nile, with the flooding of the Nile, then with canals or with water carried from the Nile in buckets. Pharaohs like Hatshepsut and Ramses III brought plants back from conquests to plant in gardens. In the New Kingdom (1552-1296 BCE), pleasure gardens moved began to be kept by the upper class, not just the ruler. They also began the practice of botanical gardens, which are a type of garden meant for education, research, conservation, or education. They even created models of gardens to be put in tombs of those who passed. A lot of work and knowledge went into keeping gardens in ancient Egypt, from carrying water, through to the manual propagation of date palms, and to protecting the garden from weeds and invading birds.

omg you listen to the oh hellos !! can i ask what are your favourite artists / bands or songs ??? :))
I do!!
the last few days I've been constantly listening to Hozier's new album because oh my god that man is something else. I swear to god he inspires me so much.
But next to that I listen a lot to Florence and the machine, mother mother, the amazing devil, fleet foxes, the front bottoms, David bowie. There's more but my memory is shit.
I'll put a few songs here that I'm listening to under the cut because my adhd/autism brain likes to hang on to a handful and just listen to them over and over.

I love your work!!!! I dunno if you're still taking asks ... but I have this thought I cannot shake.
I feel like Captain Syverson's middle name is Frances. His first name is something like Noah or Lucas or Austin.
And everyone calls him Sy, obviously. Except for you. You call him by his first name. And when he makes your blood boil mad, you break out his full name. And the look on his face, like a little boy being being caught with his hand in a cookie jar, when he and his army buddies are too rowdy at your place for a late night bonfire, and you break out his full name in front of them. And it really turns him on.
😍😍
Hey dear Anon, sorry it took me so long to answer. Life has been busy with adult stuff.
The thing is, I already wrote this bit about a year or two ago and I used the name Frances, so I assume you might have read my story before and forgot (it happens sometimes, don't worry😌)
Otherwise, funny coincidence. :)
"As vexed as you were, you took a deep breath. With a smile creeping on your lips, you tightened your canal around him and milked around his cock, making him twitch in response. “Two can play that game, Captain Logan Frances Syverson.” You taunted. Sy growled and pressed slightly more into you until you felt his sack graze your delicate, engorged flesh. "
The full story is here. I hope you will enjoy.

LAST TIME ON CHINESE MYTHOLOGY KAI!
The water god Gonggong was a sore loser and decided to make everyone suffer because of it, destroying Mount Buzhou with his thick head and causing the heavens to fall. Luckily, the great goddess Nuwa was able to repair the sky with a combination of molten rock and severed limbs, but the mortal world is still in great peril.....
Ah, the flood myth. A staple in most Indo-European myths from Noah to Utnapishtim. The widespread prevalence of such a specific myth structure implies there was an actual flood of massive proportions in that part of the world, and here we see evidence that it may have gone as far as East Asia. Most flood myths are focused on the idea of a cleansing apocalypse, with the gods becoming angry at how sinful humanity is and wanting to start over. While there are versions of the Chinese flood myth with this same inciting incident, many also blame Gonggong knocking down the heavens as the cause. For our purposes today it doesn't really matter how or why it happened, just that there's water everywhere.
According to one of my sources, the flood actually takes place directly after the debacle with the 10 Suns, which had gotta be a real kick in the teeth. Like, we just got rid of the unbearable heat and yeah, we did want water, but not THIS MUCH! As a side note, perhaps this can give a bit of context as to why Gonggong and Zhurong were fighting. It may have had something to do with the devastation caused by the suns and how to fix it, with Gonggong losing and then trying to do things his way anyway in the most needlessly destructive way possible.
Anyway, no matter the reason there's water water everywhere and not a drop to breathe, so humans are unsurprisingly drowning. Seeing this, the human emperor decided to try and find someone who could help. Nuwa was apparently taking a nap or something after fixing the sky, so he had to find someone else. He ends up going to this guy named Gun, apparently the grandson of the Yellow Emperor. Gun get the idea to go to the heavens and steal some divine dirt, much like Prometheus. However, also like Prometheus, he's caught and punished for his theft. Even worse, he doesn't even get to use his magic dirt and full on dies. Yikes. Supposedly his executioner was Zhurong, who started this whole mess in the first place by fighting with Gonggong. Great work bud, super helpful.
Luckily, Gun's death wasn't the end as he was apparently.... pregnant, I guess? Because after his corpse had been sitting there a while a healthy baby boy popped out, ready to take on the world! This boy was Yu the Great, a significant Chinese culture hero and mythical Emperor. Due to his achievements later in this myth, he is also called Yu the Engineer.
So Yu is born out of his dad's corpse, and apparently even though Gun was executed for stealing the magic dirt it wasn't actually confiscated, so Yungets his hands on is pretty quick. Either that or the current ruler of the heavens just... likes Yu more, I guess? And gives him some magic dirt. I think it would be cool if Nuwa snuck him some of the stuff becuase she thought the ruler of the heavens was being stupid and she didn't want the humans she'd created to all die becuase of the stick up his butt. Either way, Yu has some and starts spreading it around. Wherever the dirt touches the flood waters, it creates new land for people to stand on. He uses the new land to make dams, likes, and canals to guide the waters to the ocean.
In some tellings, Yu uses a large staff to measure the waters as he controls the flood. This is yet another possible origin story for the Ruyi Jingu Bang that Sun Wukong stole borrowed from Ao Guang. This is why some scholars speculate that the Monkey King is the reincarnation of Yu the Great. Personally I'm not that into it and prefer Wukong to just be his own special kind of wierdo, but it's a legitimate theory. You decide whether you like it or not.
Anyway, the flood waters recede and humanity can finally get back to their normal life.
For real this time.
Probably.

five good things
I figure it's about time for one of these, cos it's been a bit of a couple of weeks (lost data has been a theme...guys, if you're not aware, MS Office has now disabled autosave unless you're saving to OneDrive, so we're back to the bad old days of 'save early, save often' which I only discovered once it LOST MY UNI ASSIGNMENT which I hadn't saved yet when it CLOSED TO UPDATE WITHOUT MY INVOLVEMENT, and failed to save it ANYWHERE because now you have to use OneDrive or nothing at all guys)...ANYWAY. Here are (at least) five good things to perk me back up again.
It's my birthday a week tomorrow! Hooray! I'm hoping for a better one than last year (kind of lost to the pit of despond for both me and the missus) - we're going to go up town on the Saturday and have dinner at the fancy French place that lovely Tom the manager from our local now works at, and go to the brewpub on the canal, and generally have a lovely time. I'm slightly hampered by my birthday coinciding with both the Six Nations rugby and the Cheltenham horse racing festival (we live near to Cheltenham) so you can't move in any of the pubs for rugby and racing, neither of which interest me one bit, but still. Hoping the brewpub will have brewed their regular spring beer 'Walls Layoff' which is the most gorgeous Belgian wit-inspired wheat beer.
I'm off work next week and the week after, double hooray! I can feel myself nearing the end of my tether again (SO TIRED ALL THE TIME) and I'm hoping two weeks off will reset the old brain. Planning a Hobbit/LotR extended editions marathon, lots of writing (especially for Barduil Month, coming soon on @bi-widower-dads, give us a follow!), studying and planning my end-of-course assignment. (we have to compare two texts and I'm thinking of doing extracts from the 17th-century history of the family and estate, written by the estate steward for the education of the heir to the title, at job number 2, and the introduction to the catalogue of the medieval part of the archive written about 20 years ago by a very learned medievalist, to see how they're similar and different linguistically *nerds out* the other option would be to collect instances of the scripts to the LotR movies that weren't taken from the books and analyse them against the bits that were, but I don't know if I know enough of them, I need a minimum of 500 words of each...but I know there are bits that people now think are by Tolkien that are actually by Fran and Philippa...does anyone have a handy-dandy list by any chance, or know where I could find one?)
I've rewritten what I lost on Friday (thank you scrivener) and a bit more - it was in fact only 1700 words, not 2700, I just couldn't count after a few gins and some frantic, desperate frustration. Feeling a bit inspired on this bit of Break You at last, hooray, although I'm sure I'm going to run up against all the plotlines again sooner or later. I don't do plot, you guys, how did this happen?
It was Alpenfest week at Lidl last week, so I've stocked up on wheat beer, florentines, sausages (no currywurst this time though wtf, glad I brought some back from Germany), pretzels, and other delicious German and Austrian food. Keeps me going through the year until the next one in about September XD
I can now follow about 80% of what's going on on German TV with German subtitles on, although that drops to about 60% without the subs (although my very fluent German friends say they still use the English subs on English-language stuff, which makes me feel better about stuff). I've discovered the delightfully silly WaPo Bodensee about the water police on Lake Constance, in which not an episode goes by without them speeding along in their boat, shades on, long ears metaphorically fluttering in the wind (this only makes sense if you've seen Eddie Izzard's absolutely genius skit about Noah's Ark, in which Noah puts all the long-eared animals on the sides of the Ark so that when they're going along at speed their ears all flap in the wind XD ), and have been watching my beloved Großstadtrevier and Morden im Norden in which one of the police guys rides a Triumph (Triumph riders unite! \m/ \m/) and the crew all unite on the dock outside for a beer at the end of every episode once they've solved a case. I love them and their tropes and characters very much indeed.
I finished my most recent assignment and handed it in on time; I don't think I've done very well, but it was the best I could do in the circumstances - I really struggled with it, and with the concepts in that bit of the course. I'm not alone, though, almost everyone is finding it hard, and according to our tutor this is a particularly difficult level 3 course - so that kind of helps. It's really interesting, even if I'm not familiar with it all enough to be able to apply it 'in the wild', but I might keep it going with some other textbooks after the end of the course, because I'd actually like to learn more, I just can't cram it into my head while the course is going on.
There are flower buds all over my peach trees in the back garden. :D :D :D Spring is nearly here at long last.
It's nearly bike weather! I cannot WAIT to get out there on this glorious beastie again (on the right, the one on the left belongs to the missus).
I'm still working out, since November, with the irrepressibly perky Chloe Ting - doing weighted programmes because weighted exercises are the only ones I don't hate, and because I figure focussing on getting strong is a good way to trick myself into doing exercise (and because it's good for the osteoporosis, sigh), and slowly but surely it's having results. Muscle definition is beginning to happen, and I'm definitely stronger than I was. Hooray.
Oh yeah and BARDUIL MONTH on @bi-widower-dads (big thank you to @herawell for coming up with the tag that inspired the blog title!) which is coming up in April. 30 days of prompts (which are looking AWESOME) and hopefully lots of fic, art, and general creativity! :D :D :D
Right. That's quite enough for now. Anyone who feels that doing this might benefit them, please feel free to nick the idea, by the way. I came up with it years ago, and I'm not nearly frequent enough with it, but I do find that sitting down and coming up with five good things about what's going on at the moment, no matter how small, does make me feel a little bit better about stuff.
I'm off to work on the next unit of my uni course, and hope that it's less sodding difficult than the last one...

### Primeiros anos e crescimento inicial (2006-2010)
- Em 2006, Jack Dorsey publicou o primeiro tweet: "just setting up my twttr".
