Regarding The FFXV/XIV Crossover Event

For Meiko's canon, the events occur in present content -- i.e post 6.55, in the time spent between Endwalker and Dawntrail. This adds the following context:

Initial concerns regarding aggressive "Garlean" technology hold more weight, as we are now on decent terms with 'mainland' Garlemald. Meiko and A'kihiiko are sent to investigate in the event that this is aggression comes from some of the holdout remaining legions, as well as to prevent a spike of anti-Garlean sentiment after the Alliance sent formal aid.

When Noctic discloses being from what sounds like another world, Mei stops Hiko from sharing the knowledge of reflections. Although it is likely the current case, maybe let's not blow the poor lad's mind with the hidden myths behind creation just yet. They decide to only reach out to Y'shtola for consultation if there is no other option. Fortunately, it does not come to that.

The summoning of Garuda also has implications, as Eorzea is working on alliancing with the beast tribes. Fortunately, the Ixali who summoned her appear to regret it immediately and there are no casualties on the Ixali's sides. Hiko continues to gripe about having to fight birds, though.

Meiko was this close to dragging Noctic to Limsa when he said he enjoys fishing. This close. She's also a little confused when he says they should set up camp after the events in the Bramble Patch ('but the city's not far...'), but A'kihiko immediately agrees because fun! And also FOOD?! Noctis and Hiko have similarities that Meiko cannot help but be amused by. What's with all these teenagers she ends up adopting? [I know Noctis is 20 but close enough)

After Noctis departs, Meiko and Hiko presume that he was a fellow Warrior of Light -- perhaps even a shard of Azem -- from another reflection. However, they're not too pressed about traveling to another reflection just yet. Summer vacation first. Although, Mei does reach out to Y'shtola to report in on their findings.

If any Noctis Muses (or other 15 Muses!) want to interact with Meiko, too, I am SUPER down!

Please note I don't know anything about FFXV, but I'm willing to look stuff up and learn!

Ghostly Changes

After the accident, Danny had been relieved that he still looked mainly like himself. He could pretend that he was just a kid with ghost powers. Sure maybe he had kind of died, but he was still alive. He still looked normal.

And then Undergrowth had happened, and his core started to mature, things had started to change.

It had started small. When he was in ghost form his skin began to get paler. He hadn’t noticed anything at first, not until Sam pointed it out.

After that, he’d tried to be more observant. He was not only getting paler, but his skin was taking on a slightly blue color. 

And then his human form had begun to look pale as well. Mr. Lancer had given him a strange look one day and told him he should spend more time in the sun.

The fangs at come next, and Danny had to be careful not to open his mouth to wide or people would see. Not that people were really looking at him these days. Most of the time, Danny noticed that if someone glanced at him, they’d quickly look away. Even Dash was avoiding him.

And what was worse was that even Sam and Tucker never looked him in the eyes anymore.

He’d ask them what was up, and they’d answered that looking at him was unsettling. That it made their skin crawl and activated their flight reflex.

Danny stood in his ghost form in front of his mirror at home. He tilted his head side to side, reached up to feel his ears. They were slightly pointed now. His freckles were slightly green and if Danny looked closely they resembled the current position of the stars. He ran his hands through his hair which had begun to float on its own, not fiery but like he was underwater or in space. He felt along his head till he came to the two points that had begun to grow. He frowned and thought of Nocturne who had horns growing from their head. He examined his fingers which had begun to grow longer and end in sharp claws. 

He steeled himself and met his gaze in the mirror. His eyes were still green, but they swirled like the portal and his irises had grown to cover nearly all of his sclera. His pupil looked darker than black and made Danny think of black holes.

Danny transformed into his human form. This one was at least mostly normal, if you ignored the paleness, fangs, and the strange quality his eyes had. They didn’t look different, but according to his friends, looking into his eyes made them think of a powerful predator.

What was happening to him?

Did ghost’s have their own sort of puberty?

Frostbite had said his core was maturing. Was that what was affecting his appearance? But a lot of the ghost’s he had met still looked mostly human. Why was he changing?

He turned away from the mirror. It didn’t matter. He had too many other things to think about. He had a test he hadn't studied for and a project he hadn’t started. And with his luck they would probably be a ghost attack.

Danny had gone back to ask Frostbite what was happening, and the ghost yeti had confirmed that his core maturing was what was causing the changes. 

“But why is it causing these changes? There are plenty of ghosts that still look human?”

“It depends on the ghost’s core and on the level of energy they have. Halfa’s have always been powerful, and you were made in the birth of a permanent portal.”

“So?”

“That means that you will be very powerful one day. Your form is changing to reflect that. You have met Noctorn the Dreamer and Undergrowth Guardian of the Green, their forms changed to reflect their cores and energy levels. The same is happening to you.”

“But I don't want to change.”

Frostbite had given him such a sad look then. “To fight the design Fate has woven for us always leads to disastrous results.”

“But I changed the future. I stopped Dan.”

“That was another timeline, the Great One. And you had the help of Clockwork Guardian of the Will Be.” Frostbite set a hand on Danny’s shoulder. “But worry not, Great One, these changes are merely of appearance. Who you are will not change.”

Danny had left after that.

One year later

Danny’s human form hadn’t changed much more besides the fact that not even his friends would look at him directly anymore. But his Phantom form… 

His ghost form had stretched to a height of three meters, his arms and legs were long and his feet and hands ended in claws. His skin was skin tinged blue and several patches were covered in hoarfrost. His eyes were completely green except for the black holes of his pupils, and his green freckles still reflected the position of the stars. His hair was longer and floated unencumbered by gravity. His mouth was full of teeth and his face looked sunken with his cheeks covered in an ever shifting pattern of frost. And from his head grew antlers covered in hoarfrost. They were big, extending two feet above his head and two feet to either side of him.

And above his head floated a crown made of ice and the aurora borealis.

Gem is more of the noctornal one, and plenty so for the both of them.

They dont often hang out together bc red pandas are solitary & territorial. So. They do bother the rest of the cherry grove squad just not getting near the others "claimed" land.

Let's meet the contestants.

Both sharks are very funky, very shaped and very colorful. On one side there's a paraphyletic group (not all members are from the same descendants), the other side can technically be inside the first lineage, but they swallow water to get bigger as a defense.

Some facts:

Catsharks (family: Scyliorhinidae): in a phylogenetics sense, that family shouldn't exist due to not being all from the same descendancy, but in a popular sense it works anyways. They're ground sharks, named due to "large cat-like-eyes", probably having a similarity because they're both noctornal animals. Most species only go up to 80 centimeters (31 inches). Due to their size and being shy, they aren't dangerous to humans.

Swell Shark (Cephaloscyllium ventriosum): while Swell Sharks are catsharks, i decided they are funky enough to be on it's own in here. They can swallow water or air and "swell" up to double it's size to scare off predators, when they release the air, they release a sound similar to a bark. They have a maximum lenght of 1,10 meters (3.6 ft). They're very sociable species, and just as the above, hold no threat to humans.

it’s great when my brain wants to hyperfocus on a song and it won’t leave me alone and I just get it completely, but right now I’ve apparently decided that tonight’s practice MUST be Eclipse of the Sun (from Hyrule Warriors) and not the song I’d been practicing (a combo of Cut Man and Boomer Kuwanger) or the song before that (Spark of Blue) or the song before that (Splattack)

I mean I know I’m just doing this for fun and it’s not like anyone is going to be mad at me or anything but it’s nice when I can actually learn a song enough to record it 🙄

that said, I’ve been living in this brain long enough to know that I get way better results working with my brain than against it, so Eclipse of the Sun it is, for tonight

The good news is with graduations out of the way, business at the dress shop is gonna ease up until we start to getting to winter formals - but that also means the costume work is going to go way up. I get called to quite a few of the wealthier high schools for their costuming departments - you know, the ones with Julliard hopefuls and way too clean pro-shots of their performances of The Crucible. It's always some new project, you know how it is."

A deep breath.

"Crime is at a lull and that's bad. There's two main factions who like... they don't all work together, but you either rub elbows with one side or the other, and a quiet moment means they're dealing with conflict behind closed doors. I'm worried about what the fallout is going to be, because it's never just quiet.

Nocturne University got attacked again by our latest rogue, who's still holding his title close to his chest. Apparently he - like everyone - thinks he's gonna find Luminous there.

Dragons are real, dipshit

Lizatds are tiny dragon. They literally are.

Look at this fella:

Earless Monitor lizard (Lanthanetus Borneensis)

The genus name Lanthanotus means "hidden ear" and the species name borneensis refers to its home island of Borneo. Only lives on the Southeast Asian island of Borneo (endemic to that island) found in lowlands at altitudes below 300 m  These are typically in rainforests, but it is also found in streams flowing through degraded habitats such as agricultural land, mature fruit tree gardens and palm oil plantations, and reportedly may occur in rice paddies. The streams it inhabits are often rocky. Despite the name, they are capable of hearing, although lack a tympanum, an ear opening and other externally visible signs of ears Tail doesn't regenerate unlike other lizards They are noctornal but have been sighted during the day as well. They usually sleep near waters with vegetations and burrows. Usually in water or near water during the night. They are not very fast or agile but if they get a froght they can dash away for a short amount of time. Their bites arent poisonous (unlike other kinds of monitor lizards) but they do have a very weak venom that means that bites slow blood clotting. Their bites are very deep and tske a long time to heal. Excessive bleeding is not rare. They usually eat  earthworms, crustaceans and fish. What's really interesting is that they can they can swallow prey while submerged underwater !! Also, this is very uncommon for lizards but this same technique that these earless monitor lizard does this is similar to Turtles (by draining water from their nostrils!!) Locals usually think of them as common but the species is usually considered very rare. They haven't been rated by the IUCN, but it likely qualifies for vulnerable or endangered.
