What made you get into lonestar? And how did you find out about the show :)

That is an excellent question. So I was a fan of Rob Lowe, I liked him in The West Wing, and Parks and Recreation so I heard about Lone Star through that way when it was about to start. I think I saw a compilation video of Tarlos come across my feed just after season two ended and I was like: "Wow, these guys are hot, and I love them!" So then I started watching the show, and the rest is history. I've been obsessed with the show since.

so. i have been saying since the top of the season that this feels like a reset, and a reintroduction to the characters (which makes sense for a new network!)—i know others have talked about to being a transitional and setup season as well, which i agree with.

ive been thinking about parallels and mirrors and what it might mean to overlay season seven over season four, the things that could possibly imply…

season four is the only other non-pilot season to have less than the full 18 episodes. season four is also the only season that ends on a life-altering arc-beginning injury for a member of the 118 (which also makes sense for a shorter than usual season, big hook to make up for the fewer episodes).

at the end of season four, eddie and bobby both end up dramatically injured (sniper). the end of season four also has the first mention of the will. now, i cannot say for sure that either of these are going to be mirrored, BUT. looking at the roadmap they’ve already given us… i have some feelings and predictions :)

and i’m not even going to begin digging into the vertigo references, others have more eloquent things to say, but i wanted to at least mention it because i DO think it’s going to come into play…

(if you can think of any other 4/7 parallels i would LOVE to hear them)

Here's what I know. V said he wants to Marry a woman. His relationship with a woman was leaked. Tkk & V fans are handling it in their own way. Saying it's edits, not V, cosplayers. Whatever helps you sleep at night puddin. I'm taking it at face value. Based on V following Jennie. No original pics. The pics of them in the car taken by a local before the hacker pics & the non FLAT OUT adressing of the rumors & no flat out denials by the companies. Says enough.

That said. This is what rubs me wrong about Tae's last live. His wink, the tongue click about the drinking & mentioning of JK in the same breathe knowing it was meant to get a reaction. He's a privileged straight man (I could be wrong) while JK is a closeted queer man in some kind of relationship with another closeted queer man or at the very least identifies with JM & shares his struggles. V might love Jikook, but it doesn't mean he can relate to Jikook's struggles, cuse he can't. He can go openly kiss Jennie in front of his friends & even the world if he really wants too. Jikook cannot. Even V's innner circle is homophobic. And What I noticed is when JK hangs out with them, he will go live showing he's not doing that great. Like the other night. He went with Tae & Tae's friends & came home & went live cause he needed Army's comfort & once again his pattern of being active when JM is leaving, started.

JK's struggling being away from JM whether it be because they're dating & the closet prevents them from having a proper relationship & they can't use the group anymore as their shield cause of hiatus & not be as public anymore or he just wants JM's comfort cause JM understands him. He told us he missed JM & SHOWED US with a two hour JM live. And if JM has chosen to put public distance with his partner/friend for his own mental health after being targeted with vile homophobic attacks every single day from Tkk (oh the irony of Tkk shipping two men & throwing homophobic attacks on another) just for touching JK. I understand. I do think Privately they are fine. And saying JM should put a stop to what V's doing. Why, when JK's willingly hanging out with V, probably cause JM isn't as available, there I said it. JM doesn't see V as his competition or a threat, cause he knows there is no competition. He's just gonna sit back & just let the truth reveal itself, more & more, like what happened when those pics came to light. Besides, his BF is doing a damn good job of shutting down TK lately. So why does he need to jump in? He's too busy being booked, busy, rich and in high demand right now. He isn't worried about what TK get up too, cause he trusts JK.

This has been something that’s been on my mind for a long time, but I wanted to talk a little about the way Iris has been talked about in the fandom from time to time.

No one is required to like the character or any of the storylines related to her. It's fine if you don't, but we still should be mindful of how we speak about her. Hating on someone because of their mental illness symptoms or using those symptoms as the punchline of a joke is not okay. She's not a villain and she doesn't need to be made out to be one.

Even if this show isn’t entirely accurate in her portrayal, or even if the show didn’t get everything right when it came to her exact symptoms, medication, etc., that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t strive to be better. Iris may be a fictional character, but people with symptoms like Iris'—atypical social interaction, difficulty reading non-verbal cues or things like humor or sarcasm, bluntness, flat affect—exist. They exist in and outside of fandom spaces. Everywhere.

There's already so much shit in the world and battles everyone has to face daily that if we can make it easier for even one person, why not try to do that. Taking the time to consider how our words are being perceived (what kind of messages we're spreading and the types of jokes we show are okay to make) is important.

There are already so many layered discussions in this fandom regarding TK's depression/addiction, Carlos' anxiety, or Judd's PTSD (which I know is in part by the fact that they’re main characters), and I feel like we all learn a lot from those discussions. Perhaps the same grace can be given to Iris?

This isn’t just a fictional world for some and empathy, understanding, and kindness can go a long way.

at this moment tbh I am super aruani focused... but I've shipped a lot through my life haha when I was a child I was obsessed with TK + Kari (digimon) and I usually shipped my fav character from anything, which usually was the misfit / weird / nerd one (I still do btw) 😅 Some ships that I also like at this moment could be zutara, bubbline, tomgreg from succession (in a fun way tbh), OBVIOUSLY tayley from paramore but they are real people so.....
