Do u think white ppl have such a desperate fascination for "cryptids" because of how whiteness strips people of culture & so because they dont have a culture to fall back on, they're searching for a form of it in spirits & cryptids. Is that what it is.

What is the evidence for and against the idea that Haplogroup R1b originated in Sub-Saharan Africa?
Y-DNA Haplogroup R1b did not originate in South-of-Sahara Africa, but it back-migrated to South-of-Sahara Africa from Eurasia.
This means Africans who carry Y-DNA Haplogroup R1b, just like those who carry Y-DNA Haplogroups E family (E1a, E1b1a, E1b1b and E2), J, and T-M184 back-migrated to Africa from Eurasia, where they were inhabiting as the rightful indigenous people.

Think I'm gonna set it as an official goal for myself to move to the other side of the Atlantic within now and 5-8 years. This has been on my mind since I was a kid - but life is pulling me in the directions again in ways. Also, I feel kinda lonesome in Europe, these generally are not my people and it feels like I'm stuck in a hamlet on some days. sure, I could opt for living in a big European city: Berlin, London, Paris, Barcelona. But idk if that would make the cut. There is something about North-America that draws me in, and always had.
It all feels very idealistic still. But I'd been orientating on immigration procedures to either Canada or the US. I want to take this very slow, because I have a dog here, but also because getting an immigration visa / foreign passport in either one of those places will be a very time-consuming and troubling process. And I want to make sure it's all mapped out rationally and well.
First step is finetuning my English. I've been making progress in that lately, happily. then building a solid American network thru temporary work in either Canada or the US. I plan to do the latter in 1-3 years from now. I'm excited to see where this will bring me :)

If you're from Germany, do you feel the need to be aware if your ancestors/great grandparents were Nazis? Like I wanted to look up if my family "owned" slaves (i dont recognize it as true ownership but don't know how to better describe it) and I had benefitted from that generations later. Turns out they did not because they were always coal miners but like. I needed to know.

North America and Europe are so weird about Lactose intolerance
the way some people insist that not drinking milk will make you nutrient deficient, the amount of people who think that not drinking milk is a ED thing, the amount of people who say milk alternatives are gross even though they taste the exact same
Oh and don’t get me started on the “PaStUrIzAtIoN gEtS rId Of ThE LaCtAsE In MiLk” people
Like how do people not understand that lactose intolerance is the default in most countries and it’s not unhealthy 😭
And yes this is the dairy industry’s fault

Hey! This is for a bigger project I'm thinking of starting. If anyone could help out, I'd really appreciate it. It's kind of a turn from my usual stuff with Marvel and whatnot, but bare with me and reblog if you've got any friends/mutuals that can help out!
Calling any history/culture/mythology/folklore fans out there.
Basically, I need folklore from all different kinds of cultures, specifically personifications of things, such as Lady Justice from Greek, the Grim Reaper from Dark Ages, and Yin/Yang from Chinese.
I'm interested to hear anything and everything from all continents and countries. African, Asian, Australian, Europian, South American, and North American.
Give me the bad, give me the good, give me the ridiculous, give me the serious, give me all of it! Religious, scientific, nature, whatever!
Thanks to every participant!

European and central and East Asian genshin fans have the most to say regarding North American fandoms discourse for shipping but then lose their shit over fan edits of the genshin playable cast with a variety of skin tones and accurate cultural details lmaoo…they’re so selective about what stuff can be explored in fanon content and it just shows their racism. Completely fine with all forms of fanon content like ships and memes but god forbid a poc makes an edit of Alhaitham with darkskin…yall are such fucking hypocrites and racist shitheads

Sandy :"🏠 In 1898 African-Americans were a majority of Wilmington, NC’s population. The entire city was operated by African people. Most owned homes and businesses in the city. Some houses were oceanfront. The city was independently African owned, having their own banks, newspapers and government. On November 10, 1898, white insurgents overthrew the elected government and forced African leaders out of the city. They massacred families, burned down their homes and businesses. It is considered the only successful coup, a sudden, violent, and illegal seizure of power from a government, in American history. The African who survived never regained their land nor their power. All their financial assets were stolen illegally by the racist Europeans.
