Cygnus NG-21 S.S. Francis R. 'Dick' Scobee', carrying over 8,000 pounds of supplies and experiments, has successfully been berthed to the International Space Station.
Despite a low pressure state in the Cygnus engine preventing two orbit raising burns early in the mission, Northrup Grumman engineers were able to work out new burn and trajectory plans, enabling Cygnus to rendezvous with the International Space Station at the originally scheduled time.
At 3:11 a.m. EDT on August 6, 2024, astronaut Matt Dominick captured the spacecraft with the International Space Station's Canadarm2, with berthing completed remotely by engineers at the Johnson Space Center's Mission Control Center at 5:33 a.m. EDT.
Cygnus will remain at the space station until January, where it will dispose of thousands of pounds by burning up in Earth's atmosphere during re-entry.

Truth, Justice & Northrup Grumman
Four genocides are happening right now:
Palestine/Gaza
Sudan
Congo
Tigra
Last 3 are in Africa so no mainstream news coverage.
US is funding the 1st one because of Zionism (Israel).
There is a 3 front war coming due to US presidential election being next November: Palestine (siding with Israel, Russia (siding with Ukraine), Iran (siding with Israel vs Iran & Palestine).
Biden is asking for $100 billion -- $60 billion for Israel & $40 billion for Ukraine.
He refuses to say how long the US engagements in Israel & Ukraine would be or to give any kind of timetable yet he is demanding 100 billion US dollars fund the genocide in Palestine & the war in Ukraine.
Biden is already openly threatening Iran using very bellicose statements that they had better stay out of Palestine and essentially doing everything he can to start WW3.
Biden is already making an argument that wars in Palestine & Ukraine are good for the US economy in trying to get Congress to approve the $100 billion in aid to Israel & Ukraine.
He claimed that US weapons manufacturing plants that make the weapons in the Israeli and Ukrainian conflicts would be responsible for creating 15k+ US jobs.
It is the Iraq War all over again.
Trumped up, contrived, fake as fuck, only happening to prop up sagging presidential approval ratings, to assure reelection & to drum up jingoism, nationalism & virulent blind patriotism that leads to nihilistic militarism, warmongering, national bloodlust & endless empire building on the corpses of young men, some idealistic, many black brown & poor, endlessly exploited by the capitalist war machine.
Ads to Be All You Can Be while Uncle Sam pays for college education that should be free when student loans literally just went back into repayment will coincide nicely with the aggressive push for WW3.
American jobs. American corpses. American mothers weeping for their dead sons.
Caskets draped in US flags for 21 year old boys.
18 year olds dying in a country they've never visited for no fucking reason.

Do you think the moral stance is to stand aside and do nothing while Russia commits genocide in Ukraine?
well i think the moral stance would be to liquidate raytheon, northrup grumman, et al. and entirely abolish the US military. but opposing ongoing usamerican war commitments is the bare minimum yeah

SIX DRUMS FILLED WITH TOXIC CHEMICALS DEPOSITED BY NORTHROP GRUMMAN FOUND BURIED IN CANCER-PLAGUED LONG ISLAND TOWN
📹 Six 55-gallon drums filled with toxic chemicals, and encased in concrete coffins, some broken, were found buried under Bethpage Community Park in cancer-plagued Bethpage, a town on Long Island in New York State, which was deposited by U.S. military contractor Northrop Grumman.
Previously, the town of Bethpage had to contend with a 6-square mile toxic plume of hazardous waste resulting from Northrop Grumman's dumping of chemicals underground in the area.
At least one of the 55-gallon drums was found punctured, and some contained flammable chemicals.
The drums were found buried just 4-feet underground, underneath the Park's baseball field which was previously abandoned more than 20 years ago due to concerns over soil contamination.
According to a report in New York Post, a layer of clay was found under the drums, where authorities believe chemicals could have seeped into the ground.
Oyster Bay Supervisor, Joseph Saladino, called on authorities with New York's Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) to clean up the park by collecting all the contaminated soil and removing it from Long Island. The community's tax payers previously paid $20 million to clean up the site to allow local residents to use the Park's skating rink.
Saladino also filed a lawsuit against Northrup Grumman 10 years ago to reimburse the community's costs for the cleanup, while a new lawsuit was filed in December to order the further cleanup and removal of the toxic soil.
Local residents have been complaining of higher cancer rates in their community for years, arguing that surrounding communities have far lower rates to their own, while the DEC claimed the discovery posed "no immediate threat to public health."
Still, local residents say they're fed-up, continueing to call for the immediate removal of toxic substances, along with demands for a full soil excavation in the park.
“I’ve had it. I’ve had it. I’ve been working on this for over 20 years as a New York state Assembly member and now as the supervisor of the fourth-largest town in America and I’m not going to sit by idly,” Saladino is quoted as saying.
Northrop Grumman, for its part, said it continues to work with the DEC to address the situation.

In the late forties the new US Air Force wanted to retire the old prop-driven bombers, and Boeing designed the B-52 STRATOFORTRESS.
The B-52 first flew in 1952 and over the years 744 of various models were built.
By the early sixties the Air Force knew that they would need to replace the B-52 with a high-speed, high-flying bomber to penetrate Soviet defenses, so they built this...
... the North American XB-70 Valkyrie could fly at Mach 3 and 74,000 feet, but then came high-speed high-altitude Soviet missiles, so nevermind. The B-52 kept on flying.
In the later sixties they tried again with this...
... the Convair B-58 Hustler. Mach 2 at a somewhat-lower altitude, but remember those high-speed high-altitude Soviet missiles? Plus, it had a horrible safety record and was retired by 1970. The B-52 kept on keepin' on.
Then around 1974 the Air Force tried yet again with this...
...the Rockwell B-1A Lancer. Mach 2.2 but those pesky missiles again, and quite spendy. President Carter said "nope", and that was that, for the time being. The B-52 kept going, and going...
But then, along came President Reagen who said "we need that", and a modified version...
... the Rockwell/Boeing B-1B BONE entered service. Pretty stealthy and sneaking in at low altitude, lower than the supersonic B-1A, it did better evading those high-speed high-altitude Soviet missiles. 100 were built, about 40 are left. The B-52... well, you know.
Someone finally realized that high and fast wouldn't cut it, and sneaky and stealthy was the ticket. So, Northrop built this...
... the B-2 SPIRIT. With the radar cross-section of an English Sparrow, it can sneak in and bomb you to bits and you'll never see it coming. Only problem was, the price tag will make you wince. Only 21 were built.
All this time, the B-52, which has been in the inventory since the fifties, just sits there and shakes its head and laughs and gets ready for the next mission.
Will THIS...
... the Northrup Grumman B-21 RAIDER finally replace the B-52?
Stay tuned.

SpaceX Launches NG-20 From Cape Canaveral
SpaceX launched a Falcon 9 carrying the Northrup Grumman NG-20 mission towards ISS this afternoon. The launch was at 12:07 PM EST from the company’s launch pad at SLC-40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, and once it had completed its part of the mission, Booster 1077 completed its tenth flight when it safely touched down at Landing Zone 1, about 5.6 miles to the south of where it launched a…

My husband is going in to quit his job today. They wanted him to work 10 hour shifts 5 days a week, about 8 hour shifts every other Saturday, and 10 hour overnight on-call shifts 4 days a week. Because I grew up with a parent in the military, I have a very strict policy of my husband being able to spend time with his family every day.
He has an interview with a different department in the university that fired him right before I had the baby last year on Friday. And Northrup Grumman is also considering him for a position. Obviously, we really want the NG one.
Wish us luck!
#mine#so fucking nervous about him job hunting 3x in one year#but if he doesn't find anything soon I'm gonna get a job to fill the gap#kinda thinking I'd be happier as the working parent anyway#i haven't really talked about it#but ppd has been kicking my ass and I've been really struggling with the idea of putting little miss in foster care

Nonsense About Hypersonic Weapons
There’s a media circus around hypersonic weapons. The media issue is threefold. One these weapons are hard to design and build, two we’re lagging behind Russia and China and three, and this is a critical part, we’re so far behind we’ll never catch up without more money.
Here’s a little history. In the ‘60s (yes the ‘60s) Kelly Johnson’s Skunk Works designed a seriously supersonic plane called the YF-17. It was a secret for over 10 years until the plane was accidentally renamed the Blackbird and broke speed records flying across the USA in the late ‘70s. It was not until 1990 that the plane was officially shown to and flown for the public – 25 years after Skunk Works first started secret test flights. Keep that time frame in mind.
Now, the USA is behind in the hypersonic weapons race. Nonsense. We’ve had prototypes flying since well before 2010. There were three test programs then, the HTV-2 from Kelly Johnson’s Skunk Works (HTV-1 is not mentioned but predates 2010 by 5+ years), X-51 (well, there were X-49 an X-50 before that), and HyFly – these two both from Boeing. Since then there have been prototypes aplenty flying all over the country, seven prototypes in all from Lockheed Martin (ex-Skunk Works), Raytheon/Northrup Grumman, Dynetics/Sandia, Lockheed Martin/Dynetics, Sandia/Dynetics, Boeing and Lockheed Martin/Rocketdyne. Some of these are Air Force projects or DARPA/Airforce projects, or Army/Navy projects, or just plain Army projects.
The testing breaks down into two types of hypersonic systems: Scramjet or Boost-glide. In the first you air-launch the vehicle and a scramjet engine turns on and it zooms away at fantastic speeds at high altitude (usually). What’s a scram jet? Well, the combustion inside the casing is so intense that the engine needs more and more air to fuel the fire and the engine literally sucks its way faster and faster, especially at high altitude where the air is thin. In the Boost-glide vehicle, a rocket takes the vehicle to a very fast high altitude (sometimes just into space), aims it down towards a target and speed and gravity handle the rest. Some of these are long range weapon delivery vehicles like the LRHW (yes, that means long range hypersonic weapon – catchy, no?) and some are meant to be carried closer to target by conventional planes and launched towards target but at hyper-velocity speeds (Mach 5+) that an enemy will have little defense for.
And are these weapons ready to combat the China and Russia threat? Publicly? No. The Air Force, Army, DARPA, and Navy want more funds, the Pentagon wants more secrecy, the manufacturers want contracts that never end. And the media only gets snippets of information of tests that “failed to reach objectives,” “need more development” or “we’re trying to catch up.” Oops, we’ve seen this dance before. Mike White, the Pentagon principal director for hypersonic vehicles is quoted saying, “For operational security reasons, we cannot disclose the number of hypersonic flight tests and dates…. Across the department, we have dramatically increased the number of hypersonic flights tests in the past few years…” Translation? We’re having flight tests, not trials. The vehicles fly and we’re ready for next steps and newer, more expensive, models.
What, you thoughts the Blackbird program of the ‘60s, ‘70s and 80’s ethic was a one off?

SEEKING SCIENTISTS FOR MUTANT EXPERIMENTATION
Trask Industries contacted to create mutant suppression & control collars on AU Marvel Site focused on Civil War and the Superhuman registration Act
back in 1972, trask industries lost the contracts to create the sentinel program, codename project wideawake - robots designed to locate, hunt, and neutralize mutantkind. since then, boliver trask has never let it go. without the funding for sentinels, the program died; but trask industries never let their research go entirely.
publicly, they are an aerospace and defense technology company, always in the shadows of northrup grumman and lockheed martin, and have nothing to do with mutants - they left that behind after the white house incident, as the public relations spin goes. that's what they'd like the public to believe, of course.
recently, however, trask industries has gotten a new contract.
they've been contracted to create a means of neutralizing mutants and metahumans, ways of - with a shadowed government contractor group they know only as task intiative i. what they don't know - but suspect - is that the contractor is connected to the dodc.
because the test subjects being delivered to their labs have to come from somewhere, after all.
