I usually don’t post photos of our face on this blog, but I wore this outfit to school alittle bit ago without my wig and it was abit of an accomplishment
I wore my wig out/to school almost all school year last year, and this year I haven’t, we’ve been growing out our hair !
I hate the fact that people use to think of us as savages and devils, now we're being sexualized and the clothes that our ancestors wore are now being made into costumes by people who just want the aesthetic for a day/night.
People are also wearing our war bonnets as a 'fashion statement' and totally disregarding the reason why my ancestors wore it.
If you think wearing things like that for Halloween or as some sort of costume is cool, take it off and don't think about doing something so disrespectful again because you would get mad if we did something like that to you.
And this goes to all cultures, you shouldn't wear something made for certain people like our war bonnets.
So please, if you wish to buy things that have to do with Native American culture, buy it from a Native American owned and operated business.
Flying to Italy and finding the exact field to recreate the picnic scene was pretty amazing. The costume took me a month to make 😮💨 it was so nice to shoot it in THE field!!
Edit: thank you guys SO MUCH for all the love on this cosplay! If you’d like to donate to support future cosplays, I’ve created a ko-fi account here! 💖 donate
