so this is my first time ever writing a fic and posting it, so apologies if it isn’t great and has mistakes, i just felt so drawn to this idea i had to attempt to write it! i hope y’all enjoy it as much as i enjoyed writing it :)

this is kind of an au where nothing bad ever happened to the pizzeria (i’m an optimist if u can’t tell), mike still has the security job there, but it’s all good vibes bc he deserves happiness :’) basically just mike, abby, and reader having a fun day out at freddy’s ☺️

also was written w a female reader in mind, but i don’t think there’s any explicit use of she/her pronouns so do what you will with that

keeping this intro short as possible, but i’ll include another a/n at the end!

You would’ve never thought that taking a babysitting job for a neighbor down your street would lead to some of the best memories you’ve ever had. Not to mention it also led to you and Mike, your boyfriend, meeting each other.

Naturally, you spend a lot of time with Mike and especially his sister, Abby, who you’ve been babysitting for about 6 months now. Your bond with her feels like so much more than just being her babysitter, even more so after starting to date Mike. You are always more than happy to do all kinds of activities with her, even if you’re “off the job.” After all, you’re at the house almost everyday now.

“Can we please go to Freddy’s today? I’ve been collecting quarters for months now, I want to use them!” Abby begged as you, her, and Mike finished your breakfast.

“I’m sure your brother doesn’t want to go to work over the weekend, but I can take you if you really want to go.” you said with a smile as you got up to wash off your plate.

“What makes you think I wouldn’t want to join in on this?” Mike asked looking back at you.

“You need a break, Mike.” you answered. “You stay home and rest, Abby and I will go. Plus it’s your job, you don’t want to be thinking about work over the weekend. I don’t mind taking her, trust me.” You often needed to remind him it was okay to stay home and rest. He works his ass off, mostly to provide for Abby, but also because he can’t help but spoil you as well. Even if you didn’t need anything, he still cared too much.

“Please y/n!” Abby shouted from her seat. “Let Mike come too. It will be extra fun then!”

“Yeah, y/n.” Mike said, giving you that look you couldn’t say no to. You looked into those brown eyes, shaking your head smiling.

“Okay, okay,” you responded laughing at the siblings, “let’s go then.”

The three of you piled into Mike’s sedan. On the way there, you and Abby sang some of her favorite Disney tunes, occasionally getting Mike to sing a line or two.

When you arrived, Abby immediately ran up to the stage of three animatronic animals who were singing and dancing. You and Mike followed behind, hand in hand. The pizzeria was full of children playing games, eating pizza, and running around doing whatever kids do.

“I don’t know why she loves those damn robots so much.” Mike said as the two of you walked in. “They’re creepy.”

“I think it’s cute.” you replied. “I think it’d be fun to hang out with them sometime, you know? Like, play arcade games with them, eat some pizza. I mean, you practically have a sleepover with them every night, Mike.”

“You wouldn’t be saying that if you had to be their guardian every night.” he said sarcastically.

“I don’t buy it, you love them.” you responded, squeezing his hand. He gave you a dramatic eye roll and you couldn’t help but giggle at him. You finally caught up to Abby, finding the girl still in awe of the animatronic show. “Alright Abby, what are we doing first?”

The girl thought for a moment, until her eyes lit up and that mischievous little smirk she makes was on her face. “Skee ball competition.”

“What does the winner get?” Mike asked.

“If I win, you have to get me ice cream for dessert.” She replied confidently. She always knew what she wanted, and she was gonna get it no matter what.

“And what if I win?” you asked.

“Then Mike has to get you a prize.” She replied grinning at the two of you.

“Why’s it always me who has to pay the price?” he asked. Abby already began skipping towards the arcade games.

“You’re the one who asked.” you replied giving him a shrug. “And by the way, I’m so winning this.”

“Yeah?” he asked smirking as the two of you followed Abby. “What if I win? What do I get?”

“I guess something can be arranged if you win.”

“Well you better start thinking of something because there won’t be an ‘if I win’, just a when I win.”

The three of you found the skee ball games, each picking a lane to play on. You all agreed whoever had the most points after three rounds of playing was the winner. Abby decided she would count down before shouting “go!” and the game was on. Surprisingly, Abby did very well, and the game ended with a win for Abby, and a draw between you and Mike for second place.

“I win!” Abby shouted jumping up and down before giving Mike a hug. “Now you have to get me ice cream for dessert!” You couldn’t help but smile at the two, their bond was unlike any other.

“Okay, okay, Abby!” he said with a laugh as Abby pulled away from him. “But before that, it looks like y/n and I have a tie to break.”

“Oh, we’re doing this now huh?” you said, crossing your arms. “You can’t stand a draw?”

“I was told there would be prizes and I am not letting my efforts go to waste.”

“Okay, fine, best of three wins.” You grabbed a handful of quarters out of the cup sitting on edge of the game.

“Ready to lose, sweetheart?”

What he didn’t realize was Abby slowly making her way towards your skee ball lane, silently noting she was on your side.

“Don’t get so ahead of yourself, babe.” you said with a playful scoff. What ensued after was the best mix of chaos and fun.

You and Abby were both trying to throw as many balls as you could in the somewhat small skee ball lane. The two of you were laughing at how terribly it ended up working out. Mike finally realized the team you two had formed to which he kept playfully shoving the balls out of your hands, while somehow still maintaining control of his own with his other hand. By the end, you were so out of breath from not only playing the competitive game, but laughing at the madness that occurred.

“I can’t believe you let Mike win, y/n!” Abby said, sounding more upset than she should’ve been.

“I would never let your brother purposely beat me at a game of skee ball.” you said, still out of breath. “He sabotaged the game!” you shouted, giving him a knowing look while pointing an accusing finger at him.

“I believe I deserve some sort of prize for my victory.” he responded smirking as he stood looking at you with his arms crossed.

You finally caught your breath as you looked into his brown eyes, then down to his lips which still held the small smirk. You walked closer to him, putting your hands on his shoulders as you stood on your tip toes to place a soft, small kiss on his lips. He put his hands around your waist, pulling you in just a bit. You could feel him smile, and you did too, letting out a small laugh.

“I’m still here you know.” Abby said, making you both turn to face her, still standing by the skee ball lane. She wasn’t the biggest fan of the two of you showing affection, but you knew deep down it made her happy. After all, she was the one who got you guys to realize your feelings for each other. “So am I getting my ice cream or not?”

“How could I forget.” Mike said sarcastically to his sister, giving her a small smile. He wrapped an arm around your waist as you stood next to him. “Does pizza sound good for dinner?”

“Of course, but don’t you dare forget her ice cream. She’s scary when she gets mad.” you said that last part in a whisper just loud enough for Abby to hear.

“Hey!” she shouted, knowing you guys were messing with her.

“Believe me, I know.” Mike said, ruffling his sister’s hair as they all made their way to the dining room.

The three of you enjoyed a delicious pizza dinner at Freddy Fazbear’s, making sure not to forget Abby’s ice cream she so rightfully earned. Before you left for home, Abby traded in some of her tickets for prizes at the prize counter. She ended up choosing a Bonnie plushie and a little Freddy keychain. She had been working towards collecting all of the Fazbear plushies, having just a few more left to complete the collection.

“Today was so fun!” Abby squealed as the three of you left, her Bonnie plush in hand.

“It was pretty fun.” you said smiling, taking in the final sights, sounds, and smells of the pizzeria as you walked out the doors. The three of you somehow ended up spending most of the day there, continuing to play games and eat tons of pizza.

“You know what, I think we should do this more often.” Mike chimed in.

“Really?” you said, genuinely surprised.

“Yeah. I know it’s technically work, but this was really fun. Thanks for letting me tag along, y/n.” he held onto your hand again.

“Don’t just thank me, Abby was the one who really convinced me to let you join us.”

“I find that extremely hard to believe.” he said while bumping his shoulder into yours.

“Fine, you’re kinda fun too I guess.”

“Just kinda?” he asked raising an eyebrow.

“Maybe a little more than kinda.” you admitted. He placed a kiss on the top of your head as you reached his car.

“Y/n?” Abby asked.

“Yes Abby?” you replied.

She took the Freddy keychain out of her pocket, handing it to you. “This is for you, since you never got a prize for winning skee ball. And because you’re my favorite.”

You nearly teared up at the gesture. A huge smile had come across your face.

“Abby, you are too sweet. Thank you.” you said as you held the small keychain in your hand, giving her a hug.

At the last second you decided to pull Mike into your hug, savoring every moment of having your two favorite people right by your side. “You guys are my favorite prize.”

Let’s begin!

He’d obviously call you “Superstar” on a daily basis.

He’s not into PDA because he thinks that it is unprofessional to act like that in front of kids.

He gets super excited every time when you show up to his shows.

You and Freddy are basically Gregory’s parents at that point. You’d play fazerblast together or play catch in the mazercize labyrinth in the after hours.

When Freddy malfunctions you drop everything to help him, afterwards he’d be super grateful for that.

His favorite pet names after “Superstar” are “Honey” and “Sweetheart”.

He gets called Dad a lot by other kids/teens at the Pizzaplex and he doesn’t mind at all.

He’s a gentle giant and loves cuddles. He will ask for them on a daily basis.

When his power runs low he’ll just blabber about how much he loves and appreciates you “You’re always so kind and thoughtful superstar…You’re the best…”

He’s super strong and could crush you with a single move, so when you two are intimate with each other he’s careful. It’s also the reason why he’s more vanilla than you.

“Why are you looking at me like that Superstar?” He gets super flustered when you gaze up on him. He adores your eyes and and the shine behind them.

That animatronic has stamina like a fucking rabbit. Your intimate sessions always end cause you can’t handle him anymore. He could go on for hours.

He is great with aftercare. He always makes sure you enjoyed it as much as he did. Bringing you a towel and a water bottle. “How was it Superstar? Did you enjoy?”

It’s hard to get him jealous so you don’t even bother to try…

He’d be a switch but he will be whatever you want him to be.

When you work on him in parts and services he’d ask you many questions about your day and how you’ve been over the last week.

He would love to have kids on his own one day but due to him being a animatronic he thinks it’s impossible… so he’s grateful for Gregory!

He’d listen to old love songs in his free time thinking about you two.

When you ramble about your interests he’ll listen with a love struck gaze on you. “You know superstar…. You have a beautiful voice.”

You indeed initiated your first kiss with him and it was so random that after processing your kiss you were able to hear his inner fans buzzing loudly trying to cool him off.

He’d always try to join the subject you’re talking about. He wants to show you he’s interested in your stuff!

Sometimes he is so oblivious that he is too truthful sometimes… it can hurt you and if it does and he notices it he’ll be the cutest person ever. Apologizing over and over again…

After a stressful day at the pizzaplex he always asks you if you’re in the mood for intimacy. And if you give him consent he will be rough on you working his stress off.

He makes a lot of noises in bed. Sometimes he whimpers but mostly just deep groans/growls.

If he’s ever late for a show he’ll ask you to do his makeup.

If you should ever get picked on/bullied at your work by customers or other staff Freddy would always jump in to save you! “The way you’re talking to Y/N right now is super disrespectful. I will ask you politely to change your attitude towards them. Thank you.”

When you two get to cuddle in his green room he’ll try to get as close to you as possible. He also enjoys the feeling of you laying on top of him.

Every time you get nervous or anxious about something he’d be by your side laying a hand on your shoulder “I know you can do it superstar.”

He enjoys baking and cooking a lot but due to an incident in the kitchen he’s not allowed to go there anymore.

One time you both got into a Photo Booth together and made some silly pictures! He has all the pictures you guys made hanging on the side of his mirror.

Greetings Traveler! I saw you reblog Moon from Security Breach art and I was wondering if you can maybe do some HCs about em :] Mayhaps some pre SB stuff?

Yeah was in the FNAF fandom back in the days, lord knows it's been far too long for me to remember my old FNAF acc.

Tw: im horny for robots aka him but also I divided it into parts so you can skip it ifyw.

Moon sometimes forgets his hat and gets called a baldie by the kids he has too take care of. Speaking of the kids he loves them sometimes the way a mother would but also sometimes in the way a older brother would.

Like sure he's going to take care of their daily needs and so and so but also that's sun's job. Unironically tells them to ask sun for anything just so he doesn't have to deal with it.

"Moon can I have a water bottle?"

Also moon: sees that his time is almost up, "go ask sun, little one. I am not well equipped enough to be waterproof."

They share the same components and literal body. Excuses excuses. Sun is also not waterproof but moreso than him because his rays block out the revealed spaces of moon's disk face.

Romantically?

Face plants and hugs. Also. Gives you his hat whenever he has to switch with sun for safe keeping. Trusts you with the location of his off switch if you ever need it. Especially since he's heard some of the other animatronics have been glitching out from viruses. They share a revealed communication system so that shouldn't be good.

He's usually touchy with you after the daycares been all cleaned up and he's been wiped down head to toe. Lord knows how dirty those kids are. But that doesn't mean he won't at least give you a quick head boop where he's sure the kids haven't touched whenever you come in. As much as he needs to keep it professional, he won't outright abandon you full on.

Cuddles you after work if you have time to stay or if you're staying over. Makes sure to walk you to the door every time and walk you in if he has the time. Some of the kids would call you Mrs moon :3.

Sexually?

He's a robot babe. Of course he can do it. Fucks you better with his fingers than anyone with a dick ever has. Sure he can't feel anything sexually nor does he ever want to but oh just the sight of you all splayed out and relaxed just for him is a memory he's preserving and making extra copies of in his hard drive.

Have you seen how big this man's fingers are? Yeah. Never pushes in hard enough to make you uncomfortable. Just a wince and he's pulling his punches. Doesn't mean he won't make you scream though. He's still going to try to make you feel great.

He makes sure his whole body is disinfected before and after he does anything with you. Doing intensive research on anything you need of him. Probably doesn't enjoy doing anything that could hurt you unless you explicitly ask for him. Pre virus ofc.

Post virus? Violent but never mean to you. Sure he's a bit rougher, much more careless with his touches now that he's no longer on children duty. Still somewhat gentle with you in the ways that he makes sure to stop at any major red flags. As in. Safewords. And he immediately stops as if he coded himself just for that.

Spends most of his time cuddling your exhausted body rather than actually wandering the franchise because he has cameras now. Also. Human body warm. Also because it's his coping method for the virus that's slowly making him go insane I mean what. :3

ohh fun question!

michael as a teenager is pretty standard teenage angst. he's rebellious, outspoken, doesn't like being told what to do, etc. ever since his siblings were born he feels like he's neglected by his mom and dad which is why he takes out his anger on his brother and causes the bite to happen. which kind of makes things even worse cause william starts straight up giving him the cold shoulder (i wont talk about william's thoughts here or else this might become a william-centric post LMFAO). post-bite michael kind of mellows out but there's a lot of respressed anger in him still, and also the trauma of killing his brother never really gets addressed. so he's pretty cynical, still rebellious but less outwardly so. putting the rest under the cut again

so in my AU, the crying child's name is evan. and not just because it's commonly accepted by fandom but also because elizabeth's name also starts with an E, so the two of them have E names but michael's starts with an M. to me it signifies that michael is the outlier out of the afton kids, the one that william favors the least (particularly notable after the bite)

evan haunts fredbear! i haven't thought too much on it so it's subject to change, but i think i like the two souls sharing fredbear theory. so he's also haunting the suit with cassidy too.

as for the five missing kids, so far i've got the strongest ideas for bonnie (jeremy!). my idea is that he's actually brothers with jeremy fitzgerald, and fitzgerald is the bonnie bully in the fnaf 4 cutscene (in my mind). you see where i'm going with this. i think william specifically targeted this kid because of that and sees it as an act of revenge. (i'll probably rename him so it isn't so confusing lmao)

still working on backgrounds for the other missing kids but chica (susie) already kind of has one in canon. her dog is dead (i hc william hit it while drunk driving lol) and william tells her that her dog is Alive, actually, to lead her to the back room. actually i think she has a family in one of the fazbear frights stories but i haven't read it so i can't comment on it

i can try to give a quick rundown of what i think their personalities were! gabriel (freddy): i actually picture him being kind of like henry. quiet and reserved but very capable of being in a leadership role and strong-willed. jeremy (bonnie): bit harder to think of this one's personality. for now i'll go with sassy(?) but also kind of a jokester. likes to make people laugh. quick-witted and smart susie (chica): bubbly and cheerful, likes to make friends with everyone. somewhat naive fritz (foxy): adventurous, carefree, excitable. enjoys rushing headfirst into potentially dangerous situations cassidy (golden freddy/fredbear): the type of kid who's not afraid to challenge authority and ask questions. gets along great with other kids and often the preferred leader. very smart, also retained more of her personality than the other kids post-possession of the animatronics.

Whumptober: Day Eleven - "You Said You'd Never leave." + You're a Liar."

Apologies for the slight delay in posting this :D!!

Takes place in the FNAF movie universe.

Trigger warnings: Implied/referenced kidnapping and murder, children in distress, and grief.

For the last three nights, it’s been the same exact routine. 

Mike arrives at the pizzeria. 

He does a five-minute patrol. 

He sits down in the office chair. 

He falls asleep…..

Tonight is no different. 

Mike sits down. The monitors he’s supposed to watch for the next five hours are already on. Nothing particularly interesting has happened yet, the animatronics haven’t moved a muscle. Which is probably a good thing, but it also means that the next however many hours are going to drag on. 

He yawns, checking the monitors for the outside cameras. Vanessa hasn’t said anything about coming here tonight, but he kind of hopes she does. It’s nice having someone here that knows what’s happening. 

(And he might kind of, a little, sort of like her company.)

Mike continues to watch the monitors, eyes growing heavy. He yawns again, sinking deeper into the seat. The animatronics stay in place. 

Mike rests his head on his folded arms. The allure of sleep is too great.

He dreams….

It started, like all the bad things in Mike’s life, just after his little brother was taken. His insistent need to sleep. Doctors and psychiatrists told him it was because he was depressed, but Mike wasn’t so sure. 

He was prone to the weirdest dreams when he slept. Dreams where it felt like-and perhaps it was simply his overactive imagination at work-his little brother was trying to reach out to him. 

And no amount of medicine or therapy ever made it better. 

It wasn’t until his mom and dad were dead and, in the ground, and his Aunt Jane got him put on a vastly different antidepressant that the dreams stopped. 

All that to say, it’s strange for Mike to be back in the same dream again. 

His brother stands in front of him, furrowing his eyebrows. “Mikey?” Garrett asks. “Are you okay?”

Even if this is a dream, Mike refuses to waste a single second with his brother. For years he looked forward to going to bed at night, knowing that, even for a short while, he could see Garrett.

“Yeah…I’m fine. Sorry.” His voice is slightly higher, childlike. He glances down at his hands. Mike thinks of asking why he’s a child again but stops himself. 

It doesn’t matter anyway. 

It’s a dream, and dreams aren’t known for following the rules of reality. 

“You’re fine,” Garrett says, taking him by the hand. “There’s something I want to show you.”

Mike follows, holding tightly to his brother’s hand. His eyes mist up a little, and he has to rub his face on his shirt to avoid crying. The familiar weight of his brother’s hand is comforting as it is upsetting. 

Garrett says nothing, chattering on and on about anything and everything. Though, the slight squeeze to his hand is acknowledgement enough.

“No!” Mike shouts, yanking his brother back. “We need to leave!”

Garrett tilts his head. “But I wanna play with you.”

“I…I…can’t. This place is-”

“I know, but no one can hurt us here. I want you to swing with me.”

Mike trembles, nodding reluctantly. “Okay.” 

“Yay!” 

He follows Garrett to the swings. His little brother hops up into one. He then looks expectantly at Mike. Mike sits on a swing. It creaks. He closes his eyes, unable to look at the park where his….

“It hurts.”

Mike opens his eyes. “Huh?”

“It hurts. This place, seeing it, being here. It causes you pain,” Garrett says, still swinging. 

He swallows past the lump in his throat, wiping a hand over his face. “No….I’m just worried.”

Garrett giggles. “You can be worried and in pain, silly. You can’t lie to me, you know. We are connected. I can feel your pain.”

Mike opens his eyes. “What?”

“Your pain. I can feel it.”

“But…you said we’re connected?”

“Yeah, of course we are. We’re brothers.”

“That explains nothing.”

Garrett shrugs. “I don’t know how to explain it. It just is. After I died-”

“You aren’t dead,” Mike snaps. 

His little brother just gives him a pity-filled look. “After I died,” he starts again, “I was stuck. I couldn’t speak, or move. It was…scary.” Garrett stops swinging. “I remember calling out for mommy and daddy, but no matter how hard I screamed, they never came. And then I called out for you.”

Mike feels his entire body tense up. The lump in his throat is slowly becoming harder to ignore, and his eyes are starting to mist up again. “Yeah?”

“Uh, huh,” his little brother says, tightening his hold on the swing’s chains. “I called out to you, but you didn’t come either. But then, one night, something amazing happened.”

Garrett looks at him. “The dead can’t sleep, like the living can. Like you are right now. But sometimes, we can force ourselves to enter a dream-like state. It helps pass the time. The first time I did that, I ended up here. I didn’t want to be alone here as well, so I called out to you again. And unlike the previous times, you came.”

Mike nods along, listening intently. 

“It felt almost like we were together again….” A stormy look crosses Garrett’s face. “And then, you left.”

Mike shakes his head. “No. That’s not what happened.”

His little brother glares at him. “You told me you’d never leave. You promised, Mike. But you lied.” Tears slid down his brother’s cheeks. “Why’d you lie?”

He freezes, unable to handle the new wave of guilt. “I…I’m sorry. I’m so, so sorry.” Suddenly, he’s nauseous and dizzy. Mike closes his eyes, trying to block out all the sights and smells.

His brother starts to sob. The sound feels like a knife in his gut. 

Mike’s tears feel like acid, burning his skin. “I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I’m sorry,” he repeats, over and over like a mantra. 

His brother’s sobs get louder until it’s the only thing Mike can hear….

His eyes shoot open. A very concerned Vanessa stands in front of him. “Mike?” She asks, searching his face. “Are you okay?”

Mike rubs a hand down his face, feeling tears. “Yeah,” he mutters. “Just a bad dream.”

Vanessa doesn’t press any further, though she also doesn’t look like she exactly believes him either. “I brought donuts,” she tells him, gesturing to a box in her hands. 

Mike forces a smile. “Thank you.”

Vanessa and Gregory?

Hm okay so I don't really do stuff with Gregory much so bare with me on this one

I'm not sure they'd fit into any sort of traditional family roles like "mother and son" or "siblings" or anything. Neither of those feel right. That doesn't mean they can't be close though! They have their own unique bond!

Their friendship is probably heavily based on their mutual animatronic friends. That's no doubt where that started. I mean if we're post SB, Vanessa absolutely doesn't trust herself near him and he absolutely doesn't trust her, so their relationship has to be built up from a distance. Every time Vanessa is involved in the group, they get ever so slightly closer, gradually building that bridge through small moments, short conversations and the occasional laugh at someone else's expense. It build up from there, the moments getting longer, the conversations more complex, and the jokes more frequent until eventually they can hang out on their own together.

Vanessa cares a lot about him and would go out of her way if need be to help him or to get him anything he wants within reason and Gregory will steal and make things for her in return. They never expected to get particularly attached to each other, but now whenever Vanessa gets in the shit for some shenanigan that happened during her shift, Gregory is unexpectedly mad and whenever Gregory is in trouble with any other kids, Vanessa is unexpectedly just as mad about it. Like they'd grown to be decent enough friends with eachother that they actually give way more of a shit about each others feelings than they did before, which isn't saying much for Greg since he started off not giving a shit at all.

But more importantly, Vanessa is Gregory's link to the outside world. Gregory returning to school? Vanessa makes it happen. Gregory wants to hang out with some friends? Vanessa makes sure he can get back okay. There's a local youth club doing some fun stuff in the week? Vanessa gets him over there. At first, he wasn't so appreciative of suddenly being pulled into some sort of 'normal' routine but once things start to settle, he actually much prefers this to what he had before where it was just "whatever happens happens" every day. It's nice to know what to expect and the animatronics and constant daily buzz of the Plex can be a bit much sometimes so it's nice to get away from that too. She's also his best bet at a consistent meal that isn't just whatever shit Chica decided would be fun to eat today. Pizza every day is probably not good for him, especially if it's Fazbear quality.

They'd probably have fun at the various Plex attractions and playing this game Vanessa came up with when she was bored in her first week on the job where she watches the animatronics and commentates like it's a nature documentary. They have fun with that one for sure. Just "And here we see... Roxanne Wolf in her natural habitat... in some randomass box in the middle of the corridor." and "Ah yes. The Moon. Also known as the FuckFaced Bat." in terrible David Attenborough voices. The best things these two can do together though, are the things not at the Plex. Vanessa took him to the beach once and they got stranded when the tide came in whilst they were looking at rock pools and had to frantically call a coastguard to come and save them. They brought seashells back for everyone of course!

They could have a real wholesome thing going on here! They love each other like family, and don't need to categorise it any more than that. They're great!

Lol the stories about the child sacrifice and abortion parallels plus the boy wanting and mutilating himself to be an animatronic as a trans allegory are pretty based and at least the last one seems quite likely to be based on that if the original creator was the one who came up with the idea. how in hell did people even find out he was a registered republican voter? how do you even register yourself as a voter for a particular party?? in my country, things don't work like that so I'm lost. your vote is completely confidencial so it shouldn't be possible for anyone to know such info unless someone close to him decided to spill the beans.

I think i've heard before something about the creator of fnaf being cancelled but for some reason I had the idea it was for being christian, perhaps i'm confusing him with another game creator...

like i said i only play minecraft and pokeymon, but notch, the creator of minecraft, has also had his heated gamer moments too. he said trans women aren't women, he said people who didnt believe in a straight pride parade deserved to be shot, said feminism was a social disease and called a feminist a cunt, said there was nothing wrong about white pride (then later kinda recanted by saying something like "I didnt know there were only some groups allowed to feel proud of who they are"), and something else about not giving in to mentall illness in reference to transgenderism, though later kinda apologized saying he didnt understand trans identities very well. obviously, references to his name got erased in many products and even the game itself, only visible once after you beat the ender dragon, and microsoft banned him from their events ever since.

pokemon creators havent had these type of controversies which i attribute to having a better pr team and not growing up alongside social media and decide it's a great idea to post any thought that passes through their head. theyve had some though, like with jynx believed to be a racial stereotype (supposedly though she's based on ganguro fashion and the "fat lady" of an opera) so her skin was changed from black to purple. interestingly, ludicolo is a very obvious mexican stereotype yet nobody cares lol.

i do think its kinda funny when these authors get cancelled but they stil keep them/their product around to milk it to death.

and I might or might not watch the video. ive watched some youtube essays before but never that long, so we'll see...

I am too very confused about the registred political alignement thing but I gues that's yet another dystopian US lunacy. In my country this stuff doesn't exist neither. I heard some celebrities/influencer get flack for being Republican (Jaclyn Hill comes to mind) but I have no idea how people/haters manage to get this information. I guess they are available on public record or stuff like that.

Since FNAF has a VERY dedicated fandom, I am not surprised some fans went as far as to sleuth this info out.

That minecraft guy sounds like a legit asshole though and he deserved to be canceled idc I HATE when people make foul out of themselves for the whole world to see, and then act shook when people don't want to have anything to do with them anymore. I hope he didn't have the audacity to whine about "Mh fReeDoM oF sPeeCh" because dude was apparently saying it was ok to kill people for having disagreeing opinions🙃

On the opposite, Scott Cawthon is SUPER lowkey & private and never explicitely said anything rude or insulting. People just started hating him for being Republican and allegedly Christian (which I think nobody found actual evidence of)

And animatronic aren't allegory of trans people, it was only the B-7 story of a boy butchering himself as one. The whole FNAF story is Scott Cawthon creation. He just co-writes the book with a female author, but only him creates the lore. Animatronics are regular robot who are possessed by the spirit of dead children.

I didn't know they changed Jynx color 'o' I never thought anything about this design - I felt like she didn't even have skin, but but more like a void lmao (like these spectre type pokemon)

I roll my eyes at article defending this design à la "oooh but Sugiomori didn't want to offend anyone uwu" ok but Pokémon is now a game with an INTERNATIONAL audience. If Nintendo wants to keep making bucks out of their game, they have to adapt themselves to foreign audience. This sort of "purity complex" when it comes from japanese cultural assets coming into the West is insufferable. No culture is immune to criticism.

Ganguro started around 1996 which is the year when the first Pokémon game came out...so I highly doubt Sugimori would be already aware of this trend during the game development. Japan already had a weird thing with dark/black skin, so Jynx simply might be yet another design celebrating this brand of "quirkiness".

Watching Through My Collection: Day 1/36

Creepshow (1982)

Day 2

So for a challenge to myself and motivation to put a dent in the frankly absurd amount of horror movies I own that I haven't seen, I've decided to spin a wheel and watch one random movie every night from my birthday to Halloween and post about them.

I know there's a big chance that a lot of them will be very obscure and niche despite starting off with one as well-known as Creepshow, so most will probably be a lot shorter than this one. I'll keep them mostly under a cut, still.

CW: bugs, body horror, and drowning

I'll start off with saying that I think it's a little ironic that I've honestly had very little interaction with Creepshow or any Tales From The Crypt media before my 27th birthday- especially since I did read my fair share of actual horror-related comics! (My mother had old DC comics including Stanley and His Monster and I even got my hands on a couple printings of Plop! as a kid.) Though, while I was looking up stuff about Creepshow, I unlocked some very old memories of having seen Creepshow 2 once before, so I'm at least familiar with the idea of it.

Knowing it was written by Stephen King and finding out partway into the movie that it was made with George A. Romero and Tom Savini too, really made the experience for me.

The movie really has a ton of fun with the comic inspiration, playing with colorful lighting everywhere and fun backgrounds to highlight cuts just goes hand-in-hand with the pulpy comic writing of the horror.

Father's Day

The first segment of the movie is simultaneously the worst story and the best setup for the mood going forward, imo. It's truly a story of death and murder for the sake of getting to do it and I salute them for it. o7

The characters are all kinda dumb and the only one you really even feel a slip of sympathy for is killed first. It's an honestly boring first half followed by a weird ending with some fun and wild visuals.

So a perfect horror comic short story!

The Lonesome Death of Jordy Verrill

Finding out that part of the direction Stephen King was given for this bit was to act like Wile E. Coyote just noticing he walked off a cliff elevated this whole bit to camp. He's a toony country bumpkin with toony sci-fi horror problems and I honestly loved the plant growing effects and makeup- even if apparently Stephen King was so allergic to the makeup he had to be on constant medication and given shots!

He also kept a figure of Greedo in his pocket and kept trying to play pranks with the makeup effects like trying to surprise his daughter with a ton of cuts and bruises and taking his son out to lunch with fx makeup done. Love that for him.

Something to Tide You Over

I'm already of the camp that Leslie Nielsen and Ted Danson are actors that would have a hard time not being the best part of anything they're in and I stand by that still.

The whole drowning in high-tide killing plot is also a ton of fun too, so I just had tons of fun with this one the whole way through.

Also, apparently Leslie Nielsen had a fart machine in his pocket during rehearsals and would crack everyone up with fart noises before scenes and shit which just highlights how good the serious acting is and makes it more impressive.

The Crate

Starring Tom Savini's first ever animatronic effect nicknamed Fluffy!

I'd call this the more usual plot in horror short stories. Some decent tension and raising stakes and a climax where the most insufferable person finally gets shut up by getting merc'd by the monster! And what a monster he is.

Very Good Boy 11/10 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

They're Creeping Up on You!

Despite every other segment's great makeup effects, this one was the most expensive part of the movie! The sheer amount of cockroaches cost them thousands of dollars to get. Money well spent, the hoard of bugs did exactly what they were meant to do. 👍

I love them and they were wonderful actors.

2023 Media Thread (77-81)

This is a massive collection of games that I have played. I forgot to make separate posts for them, so I just mashed them together into one to not spam your feeds.

(77) Donkey Kong Country

So, recently, I’ve been randomly picking NSO games to play because the only way I’m ever going to play through the entire library is to pick one randomly. The first one I got was Donkey Kong Country, which was a great first pick.

I never played this game all the way through until now. It's a fantastic platformer. It controls great, and the levels are fun to traverse. The bosses are a bit too easy, but the game more than makes up for it with the final one.

The music is also really damn good. A lot of iconic DK tracks came from here. I would have said that I wished it was longer if it wasn't for the fact that it got two sequels. I'll definitely play them at some point.

I know nothing about Michonne since I haven't read the comics, but I liked what they showed of her here. The story this mini-series told wasn't anything that groundbreaking. IDK what else to say that it's good, and Michonne basically carried this game on her back.

(79) Alisia Dragoon

The next NSO game that was picked was this one. I never heard anything about it, so I went into it completely blind. It's not great.

This is a prime example of a game that was good for its time but nowadays is difficult to replay. The music and sprite art is pretty good. That's about it though.

The controls felt off. I don't know why, but I had trouble doing what I wanted. The worst part of the game is how quick enemies respawn. It felt like it took a couple seconds for them to respawn, making a lot of the later stages a pain.

I can't get too mad at it since it's old, but I'm definitely not returning to this one in the future.

(81) Fnaf Security Breach: Ruin

It’s crazy that by just removing the staff bots, the game is ten times better because the devs actually have to make the animatronics hunt you down instead of teleporting to you.

I think they’re still a bit dumb. Most of the time, all you really need to do is just use an audio lore to get them out of the way. A few more sections where you sneak past them would’ve been nice.

Also, I love how this series is starting to focus on the relationship between the animatronics and the kids. The Gregory and Freddy dynamic was the only thing I liked about Security Breach. I’m a sucker for found families. And it’s great to see that they’re continuing that with Cassie and Roxy. I love this shit, and I am glad it’s becoming a consistent, I guess, theme for the series.

I also didn’t hate the lore. The thing that pissed me off the most about Security Breach was the fact that Afton was still alive. It completely ruined the entire point of Pizzeria Simulator and ruined the whole story for me. Thankfully it seems Scott realized he fucked up and retconned that completely. Afton is still dead, (thank god), and the new villain is the Mimic.

I like the idea of the Mimic, but I definitely need more time to see where its story goes because it’s just been introduced here. But I think the idea of a killer robot that’s able to perfectly mimic people’s voices could lead to some spooky scenarios. I think the story Candy Cadet tells is evidence of that.

It's crazy how Security Breach is my least favorite game of all time, but it’s DLC somehow managed to save the series for me.

I don’t know how to feel about that.

💘He always has a ton of fun helping the staff set-up for the Valentine's Day specials the 'Plex runs. There are bows and hearts and lace everywhere. Especially in his room. He even has a little heart-shaped pin on his bow-tie! It's super cute.

💘By the end of the day, Freddy is drowning in Valentines. Mostly cute tiny (Fazbear-themed) cards from his younger fans, but also a handful of love letters from some of the..."bolder" crowd. You have a good laugh over those. (Good lord, some people are unhinged.)

💘They're usually not allowed to give out "non-company sanctioned" gifts, but feels like he can make an exception for you--and the little Valentine's-themed Freddy plush he gives you is adorable. (Plus, it says "I love you bear-y much!" when you squeeze it!!!)

🐺Roxanne Wolf + Valentine's Day HCs:🐺

💘UGH, she hates Valentine's Day. It's so mushy. And pink. Did she mention mushy? The whole "romance" thing is just...total overkill. Don't expect her to get all goo-goo-eyed just because she's got someone to spend it with, okay? She's no romantic.

💘"She's no romantic," she says, only to go out of her way to write out your name in tire-marks across the racetrack, followed by a big ol' tire-track heart. And then she has the gall to wink at you as she jumps out of her car--that woman will be the death of you.

💘Roxy will never admit it, but the Valentine's from fans really get to her. Sure, she could do without the "love letters," but still. For the most part, she keeps all the cards she gets. And the little smile that flickers over her face as she reads them is...damn near angelic.

🐊Montgomery Gator + Valentine's Day HCs:🐊

💘Valentine's Day? Ha! He's too cool for all that "mushy" stuff. Nah, he's got better things to do than spend all day bounding around in that sea of pink and hearts, flashing goo-goo eyes at you every time he sees you. Like he doesn't do that every day.

💘You can see how getting all the cards and presents from his fans strokes his ego. It's nice to see him so genuinely happy--not even the creepy stuff bothers him! Well, not as much as it usually does. As long as you think he's hot, that's all that matters! (...You do, right?)

💘Bein' mushy really isn't his strong suit, and he's not great at the whole "sentimental" thing, but...he still got you something. It's a limited edition poster, with "You're my Rockstar!" scribbled on the bottom, followed by his signature. It's adorable and you love it.

💘Chica is already a sucker for the color pink, so getting to see the 'Plex absolutely drowning in her favorite color makes it her favorite day ever. Because it's gonna be in Pink!!! With Hearts!!! (Give her a second, she's shifting into Valentine's Mode.)

💘Every guest who gives her a Valentine's gift is gonna get the biggest, snuggliest hug. She doesn't care who it is! Even the weirdos who hang on for a little too long! She's just so hype! All the cards and letters are so sweet!!! Well, most of them, anyway...

💘Her gift for you is pretty obvious, but c'mon: a heart-shaped pizza is still a very cute gift. Even the pepperonis are heart-shaped! And they spell out, "Will you be my Valentine?" You are going to kiss the heck out of her--after she cleans the cheese off her beak.

💘Besides, it's not like he ever gets involved in any of the activities. And most of the cards and gifts are reserved for Sun, not him. He might get a few, but he can't help but be a little...jealous. Still, he knows he has no right to complain. It is what it is.

💘If you ever gave him anything, it would go straight to his heart. Which, really, any gifts from you do. He knows the card isn't much, and Sun did most of the work--especially when it came to the amount of glitter glue used--but he still really hopes that you like it.

🎧DJ Music Man + Valentine's Day HCs:🎧

💘He can't offer much in the way of gifts, considering his size and limited mobility, but if there's one thing he's good at, it's composing music. Which he did--a special song, written just for you! No vocals, sadly, but it's still so damn sweet that you nearly start crying.

💘It's nice to get a change of pace from all the EDM/house music he's used to playing; his only regret is that he can't slow dance with you the same way every else does. He makes up for it by cradling you in one of his hands and gently swaying from side-to-side. Close enough!

💘The heart-shaped lights bouncing off the walls of the auditorium really add to the ambience. DJ can't help but glance at you from the corner of his eye, watching the colors play off your skin and wondering how he got so lucky as to have you in his life. Dude is smitten.

He enjoys talking to you but won’t initiate any conversations because he thinks you will get bored of him eventually.

He for sure loves physical touch and sometimes purrs when you cuddle him in his greenroom.

He’s a massive animatronic and will be gentle with you due to his size.

He hates his original name “Montgomery” according to him it is “A wacky name for a bass player” and that’s why he prefers his nickname.

He’s very jealous of you. If anyone seems like a threat to him he will stand next to you wrapping his tail around you.

If he is having an outburst again the other band members and staff would call you to calm him down. He seems to only listen to you when he’s in that state.

He’d definitely have a picture of you two in his greenroom.

He was the biggest fan of Bonnie and definitely had a plushie of him in his room.

He has the biggest marking kink you could ever imagine. He can’t go one session without giving you at least two bite marks.

He is very dominant and also demands this position. Every time you try to initiate something he’d quickly turn it around so he’s the one on top of you.

He would use the pet names “Rockstar” and “Babe” a lot.

He gets easily attached to things you give him. Even if it’s something as simple as a dandelion you picked up before work, he’d keep it forever…

He likes to pick you up and he will make cheeky comments about your height. (Even if you’re just 1cm shorter than him).

He loves to edge you until your legs shake from frustration and he’s always teasing you about it.

He loves seeing you get all flustered when he compliments you.

He’d be the type to say “Did ya’ do somethin with your hair? Looks great…” even though you did nothing new with your looks. It makes you laugh every time.

He’d have a hard time showing you affection through words so he likes to leave you little notes that say “have a good day/night” or “I hope we’ll see each other soon.”

When you’re working with him in Parts & Service he’d always look at you with admiration. He doesn’t know a thing about his mechanics so he’s really impressed with your abilities.

Sometimes on your breaks or after your shift you go to gator golf to see Monty and occasionally play golf with him. He’s obviously a really good player so it’s hard to compete with him.

Once you won a game and he just pushed you into the lakes and laughed historically as you tried to get out.

You tried to get back on him and do the same but he was too heavy to be pushed away. So he just jumped to the side and you fell down into the lake yourself. He laughed and said “Haha! Karma is a bitch, rockstar!”

He would also enjoy taking you around the Pizzaplex to places where you weren’t before.

When you cuddle with him he always puts his head on top of yours.

Sometimes you two get too caught up in a conversation that he forgets to charge and he goes on standby mode. (Freddy comes to help you if that happens).

He knows your work schedule better than you do yourself. “Monty when do I have to start working again tomorrow?”. “8pm till 6am. You have the night shift tomorrow.”

He lets you put on his glasses and eventually gets you a pair of them in the gift shop.

He loves to hear you beg for pleasure. He will overstimulate you so much that you can only say his name and beg for more.

With enough convincing and reassurance he’ll open up to you about his feelings. And once he does he’s extremely grateful that you don’t judge him.

If he’d ever hurt you by accident he wouldn’t forgive himself. But he’ll be harsh if you want him too.

When he has an outburst and you get called to handle it he’ll say stuff like “Why would ever want to be with me!? Don’t you see that I’m a monster…?” while his voice cracks down while he sobs in your arms.

Not exactly drawings, buuuut! I wanted to post it anyway just to get my ramblings out of the way.

So!!!!! Anyone who saw my first ever Sun and Moon post would (hopefully?) remember the two little silly guys at the veeeery bottom of my post named Star and Crescent! Well, I've decided to elaborate on them and their AU bc I am suddenly obsessed with my little skrunklos (for convenience I'll put a little ref here too)

Star and Crescent are two small, roughly child sized animatronics whose job is to assist the Daycare Attendant. They ALSO double as extra playmates for the kiddos!

Their relationship with the DCA is comparable to a mentor and mentee or cousins!

..But when Moon was inflicted with the virus, Crescent suffered because of it. Despite being 100% fine and working as intended, those who knew what Moon had done weren't too keen on a very similar looking bot working around the kids; even Sun and Star continuing to be in service was pushing it a bit. To avoid losing money in any possible way, he wasn't allowed to exit the Daycare Attendant's room during business hours.

Sure, Sun and Star made great company, but he longed to interact with the children and felt a twinge of jealousy towards the two. Naturally, he'd also began to resent Moon at this point. As time went on, these feelings only intensified, and Crescent shut himself off from the three.

Will they make up??? Haha I don't know but there's a lot of angst potential

On the scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate Jurassic World Dominion?

(This becomes a very long post that goes all over the place, so I apologise. If your attention span is as short as mine, I won’t be offended if you just “too long, didn’t read”)

This is actually quite difficult for me to answer, because I’m easy to please when it comes to films - if I had fun watching it then to me it was a good film. And I had a lot of fun watching Dominion. So I’ll try putting on a logical head for this one.

Spoiler free opinion: 8/10

I’ll go more in depth with my opinion which means I will openly talk about stuff that happened in the film. So serious spoiler warning! (All you asked was to rate the film out of 10 but I guess I’m going full opinion time!)

Ok. I loved this film. Seeing Alan, Ellie and Ian back as main characters was OF COURSE a big part of that. I also loved seeing the dinosaurs in the world, how they were with the humans and other animals. And I liked that the ending was “so yeah. Nothing’s changed from the beginning. Dinosaurs are in our world now so deal with it.” With the exception that the humans and animals were no longer fighting back. The parallel between the beginning where the horses were being used to round up the Paras and the end where they’re a unified herd was great. And I liked Alan’s last look at a little girl playing with a dinosaur. It was him seeing that dinosaurs and man could co exist.

The amount of different dinosaurs was great! And the animatronics were. Top. Notch. That giga animatronic is beautiful. The scene where Maisie is with those workers and they watch the brachiosaurus in solemn silence was really nice actually. I liked the lack of dialogue. You could hear some indistinguishable shouts in the background and Maisie whispers to that one guy about the flare, but the fact you couldn’t hear what any of them were saying was just a nice way of showing what was going on without the brachiosaurus’ majestic moment being sullied by dialogue. It was just a nice gentle moment. I like how the franchise has used brachiosaurus as a symbol of peace amongst humans and dinosaurs since the Sleeping in the Tree scene in the first one. I feel like every time they show a brachiosaurus dying, it symbolises current animosity between the humans and dinosaurs - see: Jurassic World + JW: Fallen Kingdom. So maybe this little scene shows us (foreshadows??) that humans and dinosaurs can find a way to co exist. Maybe I’m thinking way too deeply into this.

Another thing I really liked was the family dynamic between Claire, Owen and Maisie. I felt this was the film where I liked Owen the most (don’t get me wrong, I liked his character a lot in the last two films, unpopular an opinion that is in the fandom). He felt more mature and grown up, less selfish and less quips, and I haven’t seen anyone actually acknowledge that yet. Although, that’s probably due to him being played by Chris Pratt and I understand that separating actor from character can be hard - a post for a different time.

As I was saying, I liked their little family. It was shocking to actually see a Jurassic Park couple stay together from the previous film. A first in the franchise I think! I’ve enjoyed Claire’s story throughout the 3 films, and it hasn’t ever felt forced to me. Trying to make up for treating the dinosaurs as money making attractions rather than the animals they are is a simple but good idea to make her character likeable. Maisie was a little grating at the beginning - girl, they’re literally trying to protect you! You are old enough to understand why they’re not letting you beyond the bridge! - but I could understand why she was fed up. Bet they didn’t even have WiFi in that cabin.

The bad guys were good enough, and they served their purposes. It would’ve been nice to see Dodgson act like book Dodgson though. The nice, friendly Dodgson when he’s welcoming Alan and Ellie to BioSyn, but in truth is cold-hearted and has no qualms about letting his underlings die to progress his company. That way I feel like his death would’ve been much more satisfying (don’t get me wrong I was grinning like a maniac the entire scene. It was still good to see an end to the guy responsible for starting the franchise).

Alan, Ellie and Ian were damn near perfect in this film and I’m disappointed that we only got the one scene of just the three of them together - a scene that was mainly Ellie and Ian talking plot related stuff while Alan was arguing with a barista (on behalf of all baristas, I apologise. You are my favourite character of the entire franchise Alan. I love you). Don’t get me wrong, I found that really funny, and it fits Alan’s character - see: Alan + Computers in the first film - but I wanted a whole scene of three of them. Maybe they’re discussing something together, and then the conversation escalates to Alan and Ian getting into one of their classic arguments until they realise Ellie’s gone quiet. And she’s just stood watching them like “… you guys done?” And then they split.

And then of course, they needed a second scene of them either:

Traversing the lands, somehow separated from the Jurassic World characters, where they maybe talk about how they never actually did the whole “surviving dinosaur infested jungle” thing together. Alan did it first with just Lex and Tim and then the second time the entirety of JP3, Ellie did it with Muldoon (rip) for a short while, and Ian only really did it in The Lost World, as he was resting up injured since Rexy broke out in the first film. They could come across Rexy, either as a short Dino hunt scene or as maybe just a nostalgic scene (she could be sleeping or something when they come across her and they realise she’s the same one from JP due to her age and scars)

There wouldn’t have been time, but it would’ve been cool if they’d taken the tour with Ian and we get a call back to the three of them in the car, maybe Ian flirting with Ellie a little and Alan is less than impressed. Or maybe it could have been a really nice catching up bit. Ellie telling them about her kids growing up and being in college and what she’s up to. Ian telling them about his own kids, perhaps slipping in something about his daughter Kelly having been with him on Sorna. At least give us a hint as to what Sarah’s up to? Are they still together? Where is she? It would be nice. And then Ian asks Alan what he’s up to and he just says he’s doing what he’s always been doing, and leaves it at that. Again, they could see Rexy while on the tour and like I said before, is just a nice throw back moment. I would say they could go through the lab area and try going in to see it, breaking in, but at that point it would just be ripping scenes from the first one (but man do I love the three of them simultaneously breaking out the seats. They’re so great I love them!)

The throwbacks and references to the old films were really nicely done, I thought! First of all, they didn’t just reference the first film. A lot of “final” films in a franchise do the whole nostalgia awakening thing, but they usually just use stuff from the first one - aka the most well known and liked one. But they didn’t. In fact there was a surprising amount of JP3 references! E.g. Billy’s 3D printed raptor vocal chamber thingy was on Alan’s desk in his tent, and you can’t tell me you didn’t hear Amanda Kirby screaming “BEN?!?!?!” in your head when Claire was hanging in the parachute from the tree. I thought overall, the references were tasteful and not forced in your face. You could say the giga hunting them around the car was directly ripped from Rexy’s after-Gennaro car tossing, but I felt there was enough difference for it to once again be a nice throwback. Actually, I like that scene a whole lot. It’s one of the bits where the film especially feels like a Jurassic Park movie, which to me wasn’t felt all the way through the film (more on that later). I liked how real Maisie was when the giga was chomping down on the bars around her. I didn’t blame her for freezing in terror, and I thought the acting from her in that bit was really good! However I didn’t like the film making me think Ian was going to die. Felt for sure like the film was going to go “haha! The original characters aren’t immortal! Nostalgia won’t save them from being eaten! They’re all in the same boat” but I’m really glad they didn’t do that.

I’m surprised they sidelined Blue for the entire movie! She basically just said “you better get my kid back” and dipped. I think it was for the best, she wouldn’t have fit in with everything else going on. But she was such a big part of Jurassic World and Fallen Kingdom, and after seeing the raptors in all three JP films as lethal and to be avoided at all costs, it was a big thing to see a raptor/keeper relationship that wasn’t based on mutual hatred (Muldoon and the Big One were totally Owen and Blue’s opposites). Not to mention the toys and other money making products they got from her, it was quite shocking for her to be absent and unmentioned for the majority of the film.

I liked how they had Rexy win against the Giga, honestly! She had to win, because she is the Queen of Jurassic Park, obviously. But this jester prancing about in her court was bigger than her and a lot younger than her. Rexy was there from the beginning and she’s been in a few tough fights! The Big One gave Rexy iconic scars but she was young and had a massive advantage at that time. When she was up against the Indominous, she was fairly old and almost didn’t make it. And then with the Giga, she had been through and suffered a lot, and she was even older. Yet she still got a bit of damage in there. I was about to throw hands when they made it look like she had been killed. I liked that the Therizinosaurus got some hits in before Rexy got up to finish the giga off. It was a good way of killing the Giga without taking the moment away from the franchise’s most iconic dinosaur, even when the odds were against her. In true Rexy fashion, as seen with Blue, that one Carno and now the Therizinosaurus, she gave her assisting Dino a nod and let them go. I just hope that Alan, Ellie and Ian saw the end of that fight, I don’t want them thinking Rexy died. And she’s got family now? She’s not the only T-Rex any more?? Good stuff. She’s the Matriarch of that little family for sure.

Now for some things that brought down my opinion to an 8/10.

The characters should’ve all met up a lot sooner, I felt. Just as you were settling into the story of the Jurassic World characters, it would cut to scenes of the OG 3 and you were immediately sucked into it. So when it cut back you had to try and focus on them while trying not to wish it would go back to Alan, Ellie and Ian. If they’d met up sooner, you’d be able to focus on the Jurassic World characters’ stories as well as get more OG 3 content.

The plot line with Maisie and her mum. I did like it and found it interesting. But honestly it felt like I was watching a different film entirely. It didn’t feel like I was watching a Jurassic Park film, just another SciFi. I mean, I get that if they can clone dinosaurs from incomplete dna, then they can do it with humans, and I liked how they tied in “filling the gaps in the genome sequence” thing. But there was something about that plot line. I don’t know.

Disappointed we didn’t get any information on some of the other main characters from past films. When we saw Barry again, we got to see quick pictures of Vivian and Lowery, which was nice, but. How about Sarah Harding? Or maybe Zach and Gray? Or most of all, Timmy and Lex? Couldn’t they have asked Ariana if she didn’t mind putting down the paintbrush to do a small cameo? And I’m sure Joe Mazzelo would have loved to have at least done a scene. He still put Jurassic Park pictures and stuff on his Social Media. He’s still an actor! Timmy and Lex were iconic. And Claire could’ve at least had a line or something where she tells Owen that she was talking to her sister on the phone and that the boys are doing ok. But I am at least grateful we got our original 3 back.

The film kind of forgot that Alan was a beacon of survival in the franchise. His knowledge of dinosaurs helped them survive in Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park ///. “We look for your son… in the direction he’s going” - Mr Udeski, 2001, gone but not forgotten. You stick with Alan, you do as he says, you live to tell the tale. It would’ve been great to have a “what do we do?” scene where they all just turn and look expectantly at Alan. Instead, he was just kind of there to do… not a lot of Dino related stuff to be honest. Ellie told him to get the locust, so he did, He could’ve tested Maisie’s knowledge of dinosaurs when they were just the three of them, like he did with Timmy. Or he could’ve had a scene to himself, a moment to remind the audience who the original Main Character was from the first film. I just love Alan so much, he needs the recognition he deserves!

They never found out what Dodgson did. They never found out that he hired Nedry. Imagine a scene where the OG 3 find that out and absolutely tear him a new one between the three of them. Alan, Ellie and Ian went through way too much in this franchise for them not to get the chance to verbally eviscerate Dodgson for his greed and desire to be ahead in the genetics race. That, along with them tweaking his character to be more like his book self, would just make it perfect. I’d eat it up. His “Dennis Nedry sends his regards” Dilo death was chef’s kiss though. I’d keep all that for sure!

I don’t know if it was just me but… there weren’t that many kills. The most we got was the breakout in Malta. BioSyn was full of Red Shirt employees! But they just got sent home? Did I miss a massacre or was this film just really merciful? Maybe it’s because the group was full of main characters from the pat films so they couldn’t kill off anyone there. So like, have some characters of note amongst the BioSyn workers and University students who get eaten! It just surprised me how so few people died in the final film of the Jurassic Park franchise.

Now for some miscellaneous things I couldn’t write a paragraph on:

I liked Alan and Ellie with Maisie. It was nice to see 2 characters from the very beginning, who had seen everything throughout the franchise, with a character who was not only new, but only just starting her life really. Thinking about it, Maisie was quite lucky! She got parents in her first film, and grandparents in her second! Nice. It would’ve been good to see Alan have a moment with her, maybe bringing back the whole “Alan isn’t good with kids but hey, he’s trying!”

Barry. Is. Back! And it was great to see him. Was very scared they were going to kill him off, although death by raptor would’ve been fitting. Sorry you never got to say goodbye to Delta, Barry. :(

Where did Zia go??? She was in the one scene at the beginning and then disappeared. Glad to see my boy Franklin again, shame we didn’t get to see his bestie Zia though.

Pleasantly surprised they let Dodgson’s protégée guy live. I was prepared to say goodbye as soon as we met him. He was prime Red Shirt material.

I liked how they branched out from just Dinosaurs! Of course Pterasaurs have been in for a while, and there was the Mosasaurus, but seeing the cute little Diictodon (took me back to Primeval with Sid and Nancy) in Malta was nice, and the Dimetrodon drowning itself to do a JP3 Spinosaurus reference was cool too! (Although I was a little disappointed it wasn’t an actual Spino. I know there’s no way a Spino would fit in those mines, and it did defy everything by killing a T-Rex, but I did love it. The roar, the design… it was cool).

Carno/Allo team up (Think it was an Allo)! Literally looked at each other like “it’s you and me against the world” before eating people left right and centre. Hope they’re doing ok.

Speaking of, I want to just gently hold the baby Carno. Even if it bites me. Dinosaur King taught me the Carnotaurus love!

I also want a Dimorphodon to sit on my arm like a parrot so we can also stare at strangers walking past like an old pirate in a tavern.

Alan triangulating around Beta with Owen and Maisie was great. You could see the respect he has for the creature, the fear he has for it, and the amazement that he’s helping control a Velociraptor all at the same time. Like, he’s seen the intelligence of these creatures and he’s seen them kill. He’s studied them and their habits. And now he has a measure of control over one. I just really liked that. This is just me as a Muldoon fan, but he could’ve slipped in a line like “Robert would be turning in his grave if he knew we were trying to save this thing” but hey it’s not too big of a deal.

I reckon, if they did want to confirm that kid from the first film was Owen, they could’ve done it in the same scene. When Alan was saying that they now know Raptors went straight for the throat instead of gutting, Owen could’ve said something about how he didn’t need to traumatise him with the raptor claw fossil when he was a kid. Would’ve put Owen in the Alan Grant Fanclub right next to Eric and Timmy, who he quotes - “I read your book” - and would explain how he got the job at Jurassic World in the first place. A tough navy guy who’s interest in Velociraptors means he knows stuff about them too. It just works.

I was kind of disappointed when Owen showed up and scared off those Dilos, kind of felt like “ok, there you go, years of wanting the dilophosaurus back and now you’ve had your scene. Shove off.” So I thought, hey, we’ve seen them again after all these years (not just a hologram), I am happy! Just hearing those little chirrups filled my heart right up. Shame they’ve only ever claimed Dennis. But I thought too soon! Very satisfying that the dinosaur that killed the guy he hired also came for him too. Just a shame we never saw a body or anything like that.

I’m actually surprised how happy I was to see Wu get a good ending. He was never a bad guy per se, but you did sort of think that if he died, he’d deserve it. Or I did, anyway. So to see how run down and exhausted he was, as well as how much he wanted to do something good with his work, it was really nice to see him fix one of his mistakes. That bit where he was celebrating in the end, throwing his hands up in excitement and relief? I was happy for him. Hope he got to retire somewhere nice and peaceful.

Can you believe this film cuts out TellTale’s Jurassic Park: The Game from being canon? Because I know Rexy crushed that can. Unless Dodgson hired someone to make an old Barbasol can look like it had been buried in mud, he must have recovered it when Jurassic World was being built. How he managed to sneak in and get it i don’t know. And why he’d go through the effort of recovering it when the embryos inside are useless. He’s sentimental I guess. I can understand that. Really added to his death scene.

I liked how it ended. There’s enough there to make another film if they wanted to, but also, it’s a really nice way to end it all. It all ties back to stuff talked about in the first film. I love it.

And one last thing before this whole thing is finally posted: it’s been 29 years since Jurassic Park was released. Despite being a couple in the first one, Alan and Ellie never kissed - cause, you know. They were stuck on an island with dinosaurs killing people all over the place, they didn’t have time to kiss (not looking at you Claire and Owen. People being attacked and killed by pterasaurs everywhere, not a good time to be making out). I think that’s why there’s a slew of people who are adamant Alan and Ellie were never a couple, somehow ignoring the whole “Ellie wants kids but Alan doesn’t” thing throughout the film. Strange running theme to have between two characters who are just friends right? Anyway, our hopes were dashed by Jurassic Park /// annoyingly following book canon. So thank you, Jurassic World: Dominion, for giving us that Alan x Ellie kiss we’ve been waiting for since 1993. And it happened when they were nice and safe away from dinosaurs. In the cinema I was in, someone literally said “it’s about time!” When she kissed him. Cause yeah, it was. Alan and Ellie are canon, y’all.
