little impromptu travel tip for US citizens out there... if hypothetically you took a train into canada over a holiday weekend and then proceeded to lose your whole ass wallet including passport and all forms of photo id and payment cards... u probably don't need to extend your stay until the consulate finally resumes regular business hours so you can call them up first thing in the morning and frantically request an emergency temporary passport. u can just. go to the train station like an hour early for your train back and tell customs u lost your IDs and need help getting home and they'll check some databases or whatever. on a completely unrelated note our vancouver bc trip was very nice. lovely city. really enjoyed the all-dressed chips
