Here, you will be able to read the team's answers to the questions sent to our Neospring for our special Q&A event that took place between March 24th and March 31st (JST). Enjoy!

✦✧ Question #1: “what type of merch would u want mhyk to have (more of) :0 any absurd ideas r welcomed”

Founder: I have too many ideas for merch. I’d like them to release Murr’s shirt. I’d like Faust candles. I’d like Owen’s trunk but in real size this time. I want Cain’s bath water. So many options.

Management mod: I just want nuis that aren’t locked behind crane games :(. Character-inspired clothing would also be pretty cool!

Translator Red: I’d also love more clothing. Perhaps a skirt line with designs inspired by the characters such as printing Murr’s shirt pattern on it or releasing a black skirt with the blue design on Shino’s outfit and a blue sash like his ribbon. They could also release accessories based on the events like Southern Walpurgis hair clips and market it as Chloe’s fashion line.

Translator Purple: Apparel also! I would love anything low-key that represents either country or specific wizards, whether through recognisable patterns or colour schemes. Tote bags and stationery are also up there for me.

✦✧ Question #2: “What are your favorite event stories?”

Founder: I’m a Pararoidhead forever. I like all annis but those probably count as main story parts. Aside from that, I’m happy with any event that includes Northern wizards. I think they’re hilarious and add so much to any story. Kind of like any food is improved if you add cheese. Also, Central Ballad if I have to add an event without Northerners (ignore Oz).

Management mod: East Etude! 🌻 I love everything about it, from the story, to the characters featured and to the event BGM! All in all, I really love all of the Etude event series.

Translator Red: I really enjoy the April Fool’s Stories! It's fun seeing the wizards in a different context and mixing up their dynamics a bit. Paradox Roid is a classic, but I also like Sea Rover Squama and Alter Ego.

Translator Purple: Fake mahoyaku fan because it’s been a hot minute since I last read an event story but other than the April Fool’s ones I also really enjoyed West Ballad and 2021 Walpurgis.

✦✧ Question #3: “How do you tackle particularly strange/difficult phrases to translate? I’m always impressed by the final product.”

Founder: We send an email to Bunta himself and ask for his opinion.

Management mod: We get the Sage and ask them how the words we struggle with are called in their world.

Translator Purple: That makes us really happy to hear! Personally, for the most part, it’s throwing spaghetti and seeing what sticks, as well as exchanging and combining ideas between all of us. As a non-native English speaker, it can be a bit challenging to get a natural feel for things so it takes a bit of trial and error. There have been times when we’ve REALLY wanted to take a more “localised” approach and “artistic liberty”,  but, in consideration of our audience and the game’s world itself, ended up compromising in search of something that satisfies both aforementioned. Which ultimately shows more skill and professionalism, in my humble opinion, of course (lol).

Translator Red: It also really helps having a team! Sometimes when I’m reading a login story and see something that could be annoying to translate, I’ll complain about it in our group chat. Other members will start to chime in and sometimes we accidentally strike gold. This is how the phrase “my ass is Oz” came to be. And of course, if something makes me laugh or cry in the original, the most important thing is to transfer that feeling to everyone else. Moreso than the individual words, I like to focus on what they invoke.

✦✧ Question #4: “How many people are working in your team? And how do you decide who translates what?”

Founder: We are 6 people in our server but whoever is active or not is up to our personal lives. One of our members also dropped the project to focus on their life. I’m here forever though. As for the translators, both of them work together.

Management mod: about a Mahoyaku country! Usually, whoever is free first translates (and then the other translator checks it) — posting content also works on this basis.

Translator Purple: Four monkeys on typewriters locked in coly’s basement. Usually, it’s whoever gets to it first, we seldom notify each other or claim stuff in advance.

Translator Red: We’re currently a team of two translators and two managers who help upload things on social media (taking screenshots and posting those stories was hard work itself!) Like Purple said, it’s whoever has the time to translate first. However, the other always checks that translation and adds comments and suggestions (we use red and purple font to distinguish ourselves). Then the original translator gives it a final pass before it goes live. As a result, both of us work on everything that goes out. 

✦✧ Question #5: "Hi!!! Thank you so much for your tls... truly indispensable in this humble fandom. I notice how you can (almost?) always fit your voiceline tls into a single tweet with the character limit and stuff, so I hope you don't mind me asking how you do it-specifically in choosing the wording to be concise while maintaining the source’s meaning and nuances.”

Founder: I’d like to know too

Management mod: It really is impressive, isn’t it? Between that and the other things that also have to go in the tweet (like character names) I don’t know how they do it (lol).

Translator Red: I’m so glad you’ve noticed! This is primarily my doing since I enjoy the challenge of fitting every voice line in a single tweet. Translation often comes with limitations such as how much text can fit in a subtitle, how much a UI can accommodate, etc. and I view the character limit the same way. Working within confines forces me to be more creative and think deeper about the essence of a voice line, what’s most important to keep. Can I replace a long phrase with a single, strong word? Can I delete repetition that sounds clunky in English? Sometimes making cuts isn’t about losing information, but refining it.

Translation Purple: Yep, this is all Red’s wonderful doing because I have no constraint, and it truly is a unique mastery of its own.

✦✧ Question #6: “thank yall so much for everything yall do! all the characters have unique voices such that sometimes i can even skip the character name and still know who's speaking, which is really quite the feat. but is there any character whose dialogue makes yall bash ur heads against the wall in tl prep, whether it's bc it's obtuse/cringe/etc :-O”

Translator Red: Bradley and Nero aren’t necessarily difficult, but since I like how Purple writes them more, I usually try to pass that off when I can. Otherwise Snow and White can give me a bit of trouble when it comes to balancing their grandpa grammar and child-like tendencies. Same thing with Mitile and Riquet where I want to give them a more youthful feel, but at the same time keep their somewhat formal way of speaking. Honestly though, after so many years of writing these characters, I can fall into each of their voices pretty easily now.

Translator Purple: For me it's also Mitile and Riquet and for the same reason. Whereas Riquet, both as a character and as a manner of speech is more sophisticated, Mitile has a more childlike charm to him so I try to show that difference in translation as well. As for the twins, they're super fun to translate for me, I'm basically plagiarizing Shakespeare whenever I have to.

✦✧ Question #7: “thank you for your hard work, always! i'm so happy to see your posts and get to know more about the game! a personal question: what did you think the coolest moment in the game was? :P (and if it's alright to ask, do you happen to know which story shino + heathcliff renew their promise? i've been trying to search and can't find it lol but pls feel free to ignore this half!)”

Founder: I have many “coolest moment”s in mind right now, like when Oz turned into a kid to beat Mithra in the second anniversary story; North Prelude, when Owen and Mithra faced each other on the ice bridge; Second main story part, when Faust told Shino he wouldn’t die, or the part in which Bradley manages to kill an artificial wizard or when Cain is able to defeat the monster at the end; First anniversary story, when Heathcliff orders Shino… And the first main story part, when Arthur tells Vincent to know his place as regent. Many such cases. I think Mahoyaku is really good at scenes that make you remember the characters used to be/are important people all around its world and in history. The slice-of-life tone the general story has sometimes makes us forget how powerful the wizards are not just as wizards but also as people.

Management mod: I was so excited when Shino repeated Faust’s words (the “Let’s go, follow me, don’t leave my side) during MS2. Also, Lennox always pulls off really cool lines when he’s arguing with Figaro (MS2, South Rhapsody, etc) — those moments have also stuck with me as the coolest.

Translator Red: Both Heathcliff and Shino have really cool moments to me. Unfortunately for Heath, I’ll have to agree with Shino that every time Heath loses his temper and puts someone in their place, it’s really cool. However, I also love Shino’s big flashy scythe so whenever he’s throwing it around like during the minotaur fight in Anni 1, I’m very impressed, even if he is losing terribly. On the topic of Shino and Heath, the scene you’re looking for is most likely in chapter 20.6 of Main Story 2! 

Translator Purple: This is going to be a real basic answer but CH 18 of the main story left quite an impression on me. That moment of emotional turmoil was an amazing opportunity to showcase everyone's character, and especially in such a raw, unabashed way. What Rutile, Mithra and Nero said in those chapters really resonated with me. Other than that, anything with Sanbaka, and/or Oz, really.

✦✧ Question #8: “Which characters are your favorite to translate vs. least favorite, in terms of difficulty/style/other arbitrary metrics?”

Translator Red: Shino and Oz are really fun characters for me to translate. They have such blunt yet hilarious dialogue that it always feels like I’m getting more mileage for less work with them. Owen can also be fun to translate; I always imagine I’m writing a dramatic villain monologue with him, so it’s like channeling my inner diva. Then, although I was complaining about Bradley before, you can do so much with his dialogue that it's fun to play around sometimes with his voice. Essentially, my favorite characters to translate are the ones with really distinct voices and speech patterns, the things that a machine would struggle to give you. Characters with more standard speech are fine of course, but they don’t push me as much as some of the others to write something both distinct and natural-sounding.

Translator Purple: My absolute favourites have to be Bradley and Nero! In my head they sound close to how I express myself in my mother tongue, mannerism and all, so translating them feels like I'm leaving a sprinkle of myself in there, as weird as that might sound. Owen is another favourite because he's just so sassy, lots of room for absolutely bogus statements. Lastly, Figaro, if only because I enjoy humiliating him.

✦✧ Question #9: “do you think an en localization can happen anytime soon?”

Founder: Honestly, looking at the budget for the anime, I hope they aren’t planning to release an English localization anytime soon. I’m a bit concerned about its quality if this is how they handle the fan demand.

Management mod: I doubt it, but the game did get translated into Chinese way ahead into its lifespan (around 2024? If I recall correctly, they’re doing White Day 2020 right now,) so I wouldn’t 100% discard it.

Translator Purple: This might be a stretch to say, but I think the anime more or less gave us a vague idea of what we can expect from an English version of mahoyaku. As for a separate localised server... I'll be the party pooper and say I don't see it happening. They have SO much content to go through, the game might end service before they've even begun. Taking into consideration other factors such as promotion and internal ministrations, coly probably has other priorities on their list.

Translator Red: I think Coly should secure its domestic market first before moving overseas.

✦✧ Question #10: “thank you all so much for your hard work, really im so thankful that you guys translate so many stories (especially logsto!!!)❤️❤️ my question is how did u all find out about mhyk? everyone will probably have a different answer lol”

Founder: Right on release. I only joined in a couple of months after, since my mutuals started posting screenshots from it. I got curious, downloaded it, read all translations available, and immediately knew I was into this Mahoyaku thing forever lol.

Management mod: Roughly at the same time as West Ballad was happening! A few close friends got into it, and after being told about some of the characters, my interest was piqued and I started reading! Over time, it became one of my favorite franchises ever.

Translator Red: A close friend. We often get into series together, so she downloaded Mahoyaku first sometime in the spring of 2020 because the aesthetic caught her eye, and we read the story at the same time.

Translator Purple: Joined around the same time as our founder for the same reason www Mahoyaku was all the hype back when it released so sufficed to say I caved in and decided to give a try just like everyone else. And the rest is herstory ✨

✦✧ Question 11: “Do you guys have any favourite outfits? Could be from anything, including merch!”

Founder: Definitely, Riquet and White’s Sonatina outfits. They’re so adorable, and the cards are somewhat innovative, so it adds to the charm. Shylock and Owen Sonatina too. Should’ve been a maid dress, though. Whoever had the idea to go for pants should get fired. I also really like Walpurgis 2021. All Valentines outfits are also good. Sanrio event… I think Mahoyaku should make more sets with cute outfits. It feels like they always dress the same, but in different colors.

Management mod: There’s a few, but the first one that popped into my head as I was answering was Tanabata 2021’s outfits! They’re all so glittery and sparkly, and I also just really like purple, lol.

Translator Purple: Other than April Fool's and Halloween, which are always a slay, I really liked North Ballad and 2021 Walpurgis, as mentioned already.

Translator Red: I love flowy floral looks so South Walpurgis and the Lago outfits are some of my favorites. I’m also really fond of the big hats from 3rd Anniversary, and the raincoats from Frog Etude.

✦✧ Question #12: “what are some of your favorite logstos?”

Founder: 3.5 anniversary, logsto 5. Actually, I love ALL anniversary logstos. I am a fan of Bunta’s skill for comedy. I think going into too much detail could reveal a hint about my identity, so I won’t give you more information than that.

Management mod: I still think quite often about the Half Anniversary Easties log-in story, in which Faust held a test for them which in turn ensured lots of shenanigans, including Nero trying to copy Heathcliff’s answers, lol. I just really like the Eastern wizards.

Translator Purple: Damn, you really made us go down memory lane with this question. We were reminded of some absolute bangers while discussing it amongst ourselves. Personal favourites are the Anniversary 3 & 3.5 series, as well as the newly released Anime Link login story 4… That one was a rollercoaster to translate lolol

Translator Red: The entirety of 3rd Anniversary was a joy to translate. I remember I kept making myself laugh while writing it, and after every other line I had to put my head down just to process what had happened. I also remember exactly where I was when the 2nd login story for 3.5 Anniversary dropped. It was so baffling, I had to translate it immediately… After my tears from laughing dried up that is. Otherwise, I’m also fond of the Central Half Anniversary login where they all failed their midterms and East and West’s Pajama Party login.

✦✧ Question #13: “Do you guys like to predict which non-Figaro characters are going to get ratiod when they say something out of pocket”

Founder: Of course.

Management mod: definitely! I don’t always read everything that we post, especially if I wasn’t the one posting it, but when something really stands out to us we always end up discussing it and that’s when our predictions come in, and when I see that the tweet that has that particular line ends up having more interactions than the rest it’s like… yeah, we called it (lol).

Translator Red: Sometimes I’ll type out a line and it’ll feel like signing a death certificate… Rest in peace Cain, you yume-baited too close to the sun. A part of me does feel a little guilty each time I write something that I know will get a character ratioed but at the same time… They said it, not me. It’s also fun seeing everyone’s reactions to the login stories and lines which is something I’ll miss now that we’ve moved to the blog. It’s super motivating to see people enjoy and engage with our work, so always feel free to leave a comment in the Tumblr tags or qrt our posts! We love knowing our efforts mean something!

Translator Purple: It's a bit hard to determine which lines can be translated in a more "controversial" way, but generally, characters we like to play with in that sense are the westies and northies, especially Shylock. Echoing what Red said, but reading QRTs and reactions to voicelines and log-in stories is the highlight of our translations, so don't be shy to leave as many as you like!

Follow up scrap, trying to get a feel for the Nui-Rama not only in 3 dimensional space, but within the context of the setting. Featuring a take on Lewa as well.

I hadn't worked much with the actual environments up until this point. Even this is only the vague idea of Le-Wahi's upper branches.

While true that I am a character and portrait artist first and foremost, and backgrounds can prove to be much more challenging for me, I also hesitated to find the look of the land before I was satisfied with the design of it's inhabitants. Striking the balance of organic and technic[al] aesthetics for living beings would inform how distinct the all organic Mata-Nui Isle would appear. At least that was my reasoning.

In regards to the Toa Mata as featured above, I was striving for a lanky, scrappy version that still was visibly the same design as other toa bucks, so to say. That while the core "bones" of my toa body were in place, but stripped down of the bulk seen in later years sets, being rebuilt from their living tombs of wayward canisters.

Thin points, particularly in the limbs, which present more fantastical and cartoonish proportions, whilst also alluding to their reduced form, to further exacerbate the rejuvenation of their Nuva Transformations.

There are several cues from other fantastic artists present in my designs, which I will do my best to present up front. Some things will surely slip through, so please point out if I'm missing crediting for anything. Presently, Pohatu having elbow pistons is directly from another artist I can't recall at current. However, I will be sure to include such when I dedicate a post to focusing on Pohatu.

1) is your f/o you ship with also the one you produce in game? if they are not the one you produce, why?

hiiro is my kami-oshi! hes the one i fell in love with the most. my first oshi was mika, but then gradually shifted to hiiro upon reading the main story.

2) we all know that the ensemble stars!! cast are all about being chaotic, so who's the more chaotic one between your f/o and yourself?

theyre both just as chaotic 😭 hiiro and riika go with each other's flow and sometimes that can lead to them being a bit too silly for aira's liking.

3) if you're in a romantic relationship with your f/o, or a qpp/qpr, do you think your f/o's unit members would accept your relationship status?

i think that both alkaloid and starry planet (riika's group) would be supportive of them! of course there's initial opposition to it because of the rules as an idol (aira, uta, yozora) but they eventually come around to it after seeing how much hiiro and riika loved each other..

4) what type of occupation are you and your f/o? are you idol x idol? idol x producer? producer x producer? or something else?

idol x idol! riika is an idol under the all-girl group, starry planet, whos agency is starmaker productions! they debuted a little while before alkaloid!

5) can you describe you and your f/o's relationship with 3 ensemble stars!! song titles? there's a little challenge!

6) do you prefer canon or fanon version of your f/o?

my hiiro is a hiiro untouched by the mistakes of happy elements' writing ♡

7) who confessed first between you and your f/o? how did they do it? was it by song?

they confessed at the same time! they realized their feelings for each other after performing together for a valentines event, and subsequently confessed a month after on white day.

8) was your f/o also your first liked character in the franchise? if so, what made them reel you in? if not, who was?

hiiro's personality and passion really spoke to me. seeing him go through what he did in the main story, as well as his development throughout alkaloid's story made me fall in love with him over and over again.

9) how did you figure out that this f/o of yours in particular is "the one"?

hiiro-kun is the only boy who can make me cry as bad as i did for his feature scout 2 banner. ever since then i realized how important hiiro was to me and have been gachikoimaxxing ever since ♥️

10) favourite voice line belonging to your f/o?

in yume specific, definitely his lines about holding hands together to keep warm. but as a character.. i love his line towards rinne in the last part of the music main story;

“That's why—I'll smile, Nii-san! Instead of destroying this place, I'll sing, dance and smile!”

11) do you have any merch of your f/o? (proper/fanmade/re-used/etcetera) if not, what is your dream merchandise piece to have of them?

i have oh so much. but my dream merchandise for now is hiiro's bear nui and acrylic stands..

12) do you like how your f/o sounds with the voice they're given? what about their singing voice?

I yume 3 cv: gakuto kajiwara characters all because of hiiro.

13) speaking of f/o's voice, do you know of the voice actor behind your f/o? have you seen or played any other franchises your f/o's voice actor has been in?

14) if isekai was real in our world, would you want to go to the enstarsverse just to be with your f/o?

ABSOLUTELY!

15) favourite thing to do with your f/o?

more than anything, i love singing with hiiro. hearing our voices together makes me so happy~

16) do you and/or your f/o have any fears about your relationship status?

riika initially had fears about two idols dating but eventually grew out of it in favor of loving hiiro even more. (during starry planet's climax event riika gets a 💥💥💥 scare at a handshake event bc of her relationship w hiiro but she eventually grows past her fears again)

17) is there any quirks you and/or your f/o has picked up from one another?

they both say umu! a lot!

18) does your f/o get embarrassed if you sing any of their songs? or do they join in?

not at all! riika love singing with hiiro, especially with songs they both love~

19) have you ever stolen any outfit/do wish to steal any outfit belonging to your f/o? is it an exclusive outfit? unit-shared? or other?

riika loves wearing hiiro's alkaloid uniform! sometimes they swap gloves for fun, especially since they complete eachother's. (riika has palm open gloves, hiiro has fingerless gloves)

20) is your and your f/o's relationship status talk of ensemble square? how much gossip goes around about you both?

a fair amount mostly because they're so affectionate towards eachother, even in public.. though they often just brush it off as being friends..

21) do you count your f/o's centre song as a song dedicated to yourself? if not, how come?

50/50! i like to think that vermilion is partially dedicated to riika, especially the chorus—but i think that its also more representative of alkaloid and their development. i much rather think across the universe and setsuna drops to be hiiriika's song! (ESPECIALLY SETSUNA DROPS)

22) is your relationship a secret or an open one, due to some restricted rules that could exist in the enstarsverse?

they try—key word; TRY to keep things under wraps within ES, even using their last names instead to refer to each other when at work, but people can tell how madly in love they are with each other if they look hard enough. the fans have speculations, but both of them just do their best to ignore them and deflect them..

23) who's more likely to be affectionate in front of other idols/the fans, between you and your f/o?

hiiro definitely has to do more fanservice because of his popularity, which kind of makes riika jealous (though she understands and doesn't hold a grudge often for it)

THOUGH she does ask hiiro to wash his hands before hugging her because "I don't want to be held with the touch of another woman!"

24) do you count any other character as your "number one supporter" of your relationship with your f/o?

aira is definitely their number 1 wingman.. mostly out of obligation because he sees them too often and cares about them both too much 😭♥️

25) if you and/or your f/o can't say "i love you" for particular reasons (being in public/etcetera), is there any other way you express that saying? (eye contact/smiling at each other/etcetera)

whenever they can't publicly say "i love you", they always smile and just call out eachother's names before wishing them luck for a performance / words of encouragement.

26) what is one word you'd associate with your f/o? what's one word your f/o would associate with you?

27) who gets more jealous in the relationship? is there any particular reason as to why?

riika definitely 😭 she's the more emotional one between them, so she's definitely protective of hiiro to some extent. she hates feeling jealous though since she knows it's not that serious

28) who's the tall one, and who's the short one between you both? or are you both the same height?

riika is SHORT. shes shorter than hiiro.

29) is there any similarities between you and your f/o?)

both of them are very determined and passionate about their goals! they both tend to isolate when they're sad though, but they're both easily encouraged to push forward when with their friends. they're both a bit of an airheaded couple too..

30) what's your favourite card of your f/o? choose one card for all different stars statuses (1-5)

riikas dorm is on a different wing of starmony forms for the girl idols because would be CRUCIFIED but she does visit hiiros dorm every so often.

32) if you went on tour with your f/o, would you both be the chaotic type (shouting, making a mess, etcetera) or the calm type (sleeping in the seats, listening to music, watching out the windows together, etcetera) on the tour bus?

riika and hiiro would probably be sleeping and napping together amidst the chaos..

33) do you have any nicknames for each other? if so, what are they? if not, how come?

they don't like using nicknames much, they'd rather call each other by their names.

34) what troupe would you say fits you and your f/o best? can be as cliché or the opposite, as you want to be!

probably brought together by fate? or something about being similar idk man i dont know tropes as well as i used to 🧓

35) has your f/o got any seasonal cards/outfits, if so, do you like the card or outfit? if not, what's your dream seasonal card/outfit for your f/o? (halloween/easter/etcetera)

im forever in love with easter hiiro.. but halloween hiiro is so cool too.. < can't pick

36) who's more of the busier one between you both?

hiiro definitely! hes got more jobs than riika and a lot more fans and eyes on him.

37) what's an ordinary day between you both like? is it full of chaos, or are you as calm as ever?

mostly consists of sitting around, cuddling, going out to places together and having fun before coming home to cuddle and kiss more.

38) how did you and your f/o meet?

hiiro and riika met as kouhai and senpai! riika was one of the first people to meet hiiro when he came to ES, and subsequently helped him and alkaloid a bit. she slowly but surely became friends with hiiro, and soon even more..

39) do you think your f/o's fans would accept your relationship status?

probably not. but does riika care? not really.. to her, hiiro is all hers.. and hiiro wouldn't have it any other way.

40) what is your favourite thing about your f/o? what's your f/o's favourite thing about you?

☄️ - riika loves how unrelenting and determined hiiro is to accomplish something and fulfill his goals. it makes her remember to never give up.

♠️ - hiiro loves how passionate and hopeful riika is in pursuit of her dreams and ambitions. it reminds him that he has a dream he wants to make come true, too.

Tamao, though I wouldn't call either of them 'chaotic'.

If they knew about it then yes, definitely. Well, Rinne is knows (as he's also the most aware of who Kaname is) and he's chill about it? Definitely teases meru because of it.

Producer x Idol! Tamao is actually a producer for my od idol group RUBiA! She also helps Anzu with work related to other units :3 But mainly rubia.

Tamao was the one to ask him out, and indirectly confessed to him on his birthday by composing a song for him! HiMERU was the one to confess directly, though. He did it on one of their late night walks!

At first it was Nagisa (when i got enbasic as but a wee lass he was my first 4* and I didn't know shit ab the lore. I uninstalled the game right after). Then I remember Tsukasa, Rei and Makoto THEN I watched anime and liked Chiaki and Midori a lot. At some point I was really into Hiiro then Chiaki again and then Mayoi. And then there's Meru lmao.

9) how did you figure out that this f/o of yours in particular is "the one"?

Obbligato epilogue and the care he showed for kaname, someone he barely knew .oh my gooood he cares so much it actually hurts. So much he set his own identity aside so that Kaname can have the life he always dreams of once he recovers . UGH AUGH

HiMERU is taller.

Their dedication to make their sibling’s dream come true. Tamao could’ve easily became a solo artist on her own but instead she does all the work for Rubia (composing songs, choreography, designing and sewing outfits etc. She mastered all of those skills and overworks herself a lot just for her brother.)

While they’re calm, their days can definitely be chaotic due to their workloads. Full of hidden displays of affection, like holding hands or pecks on the lips.

Their days off are very cozy, though! They can both ‘unmask’ and melt im each other’s arms.

LONG STORY SHORT ERR. Rubia and CrazyB collabed :3 they first met when she hit them up asking if they'd be down. I will expand on this more sometime!! Cause there’s nuance to it.

No.

Tamao’s favorite thing is how caring HiMERU can truly be. Whether that be about her, or Kaname, she finds the dedication he shows to the people he holds close admirable.

She also appreciates how direct HiMERU is. Cause she’s #autistic and appreciates him not beating around the bush.

HiMERU’s favorite thing is just how much warmth Tamao shows towards everyone, even if they’re not as kind to her. She’s not a doormat, but she’s still genuinely kind.

They both admire how hardworking the other one is.

Day 21: Speed

Did one of the 2001 story beats, that is Pohatu vs a Nui-Jaga, and i imagine him doing a cool entrance :v. Hope ya like it

Day 22: Skull

Got the SUPER HYPER REALISTIC PROGRAM: Photography :v. I saw that in the version of studio, i don't have the skull guys, so i put the one i have to do a scene, with some of my other figures i have :v (y'all see mah house :v)

Day 23: Lost

Did a recreation of the 2003 storyline moment when the Toa Nuva lost their elemental powers, so they need to rely in the powers of their mask

Day 24: Aquatic

Made with one of my own Toa, to do a normal day in the oceans in that world. I think the Rahi in general are really chill, or better said, like normal animals, so, i love depicting them chilling in their environment (Toa of Water-M'hara Swimming with some Tarakava and fishes)

Day 25: Krana

Made one of the scenes that the entirety of Le-koro got infecte with the Krana, even it's protector, Lewa

Day 26: Titan

Made 2 of my favorite titans in all Bionicle, Axon and Brutaka, hope y'all like it (made 2 versions of it :v)

Day 27: Death

Made the scene where Lhikan passes away after the attack of Makuta. I really love how this scene is made of, so, i wanted to do a tribute of it, hope y'all like it

Day 28: Tall

I find it funny the height difference between the tallest and shortest member of my Toa team, so i exagerate it :v (Toa of Ice-Gwyri; Toa of Earth-O'truca)

Day 29: Fusion

Did the part in 2001, where the Toa mata did the Kaita, to at least have an oportunity against the Manas, hope y'all like it

Day 30: Village

Did a small chat between Nuju and Kopaka (Matoro is translating all the insults that he tells the poor toa), while the other are hearing it. Hope y'all like it

Day 31: Makuta

The Great Elementals of Mata-Nui

One Vatuka was trouble enough, when 3 join up they've become the biggest danger on the Island of Mata-Nui. The Toa will certainly have a challenge.

Here *throws random and actually much more important than I realised at first OC redesign at you after two and a half years since the OG*

Meifeng, Ming-Hua’s cousin! I just randomly remembered that she exists while putting together my OC family tree and since the only art I have of her is… nearly 3 years old and mediocre at best, and Kat and I have recently spent so much time focusing on Red Lotus siblings, I thought “Hey, why not redraw her? Just because she’s a cousin and not a sister doesn’t make her any less special than Lien-Hua, Summiya, Aiza or Haya!” (On that note… Nia give someone a brother challenge. The only one that counts is Aiza and she’s only a brother half the time)

Some headcanons about her, both new and old (the old copy-pasted over and slightly edited to save everyone the second hand embarrassment of going to look at my old art), which will go under the cut because this has gotten LONG:

Old:

Older than Ming-Hua by around 10 years

Her dad is the older half-brother of Ming-Hua's mom who’s… not the most fond of their side of the family

Has never left her home in the Foggy Swamp Water Tribe

Master healer, specialises in children. Can't have any of her own because of the high pollution levels in the swamp which is why she puts all those motherly instincts into teaching and caring for kids

Got a scar on her leg while saving Ming-Hua from some wild swamp creature when the latter was a child who was absolutely convinced she could handle everything herself and never listened to anyone. Ming-Hua still insists she had everything under control that day

She tried to understand Ming-Hua's perspective on things, she really did, but ultimately tribe mentality and fear for her cousin’s safety, believing her not to be nearly as capable as she claims to be, won over

Attempted to stop Ming-Hua from running away but was, obviously, unsuccessful

Was the one consoling Nuying after Ming-Hua left

Helped Suiren learn waterbending and held genuine affection for the girl, although she ultimately refused when Suiren begged for the chance for her and Midori to escape from Haya and live with the tribe. She thought that while Suiren would most likely adjust well, Midori was simply too Gaoling to survive in a place as dark, damp and isolated as the Swamp. She regrets that decision every day since she found out Suiren became an assassin

Mourned Ming-Hua more than anyone else in the tribe when informed of her death

New:

Was the one who babysat Ming-Hua a lot when Nuying was going through one of her depressive episodes after Cadeo left, and Ming-Hua actually enjoyed spending time with her because she was a lot less overbearing and protective than her mother. Was the first person to start calling her Ming. Sometimes Ming-Ming, but Ming-Hua had a tendency to deliver a very hard kick to the shins every time she tried that

Never left Nuying’s side when she got sick in the years following Ming-Hua’s disappearance, no matter how much everyone, including her own father, told her to stay away, there’s nothing she can do to help her. In her final moments, Nuying was delirious with fever and called out for Ming-Hua. Meifeng didn’t have the heart to remind her that her daughter left so instead let her hair down, covered her own hand in water and told Nuying that she was “right here, mom. I’m right here” and stayed like that until Nuying passed

When Ming-Hua returned, Meifeng was the one to break the news to her. Later, when Ming-Hua asked how and when it happened, she couldn’t quite stop herself from snapping at her because she should have been there, Meifeng shouldn’t have had to pretend to be her so her mother could die without worrying about where her daughter was. Their relationship never really fully recovered after that fight

Still, she had met Suiren when she was little on the rare occasions when the Red Lotus passed through the Swamp and Ming-Hua chose to take her daughter to visit the tribe. She never met Midori, but she did see Ming-Hua pregnant with her once

Didn’t know about Ming-Hua’s imprisonment until an 11-year-old Suiren told her because world news don’t reach into the heart of the Swamp. She just thought they had decided to stop visiting. The news crushed her but… a part of her couldn’t help but go “you should have fucking listened to me when I told you to stay, then this wouldn’t have happened”

Her teaching Suiren waterbending involved mostly the basics of combat (she herself doesn’t know much of it since she’s a healer), plantbending and healing. Suiren reached her level of mastery and proficiency as well as figured out icebending on her own through sheer determination and spite (she’s so much like her mama 🥹🥹🥹)

Is the only one from the tribe Suiren had ever confessed to about being an assassin. That knowledge broke her heart and she spent all those years absolutely terrified that Suiren would meet Ming-Hua’s fate. When Suiren stopped visiting at one point (when she left for her mission to kill Kuvira, got injured, recovered at ATI, reunited with her parents, broke Kuvira out and started living with her, etc etc) she had assumed that it really did happen, until Suiren randomly showed up one day with Kuvira in tow (Meifeng did not approve bc of the whole spirit vine thing 😅)

Absolutely reunited with Ming-Hua at some point and it was an extremely emotional moment

Ripped Cadeo a new one when he suddenly appeared looking for his daughter after 45+ years after it became common knowledge that the RL are all alive and no longer wanted by the law

All in all… quite an interesting character that I really should do something with at some point, bc how come Ming-Hua’s family is the only one to get 0 attention in our discussions?? #justiceformeifeng2024

After a rigorous training session, Childe nui is hungry. He waddles to the kitchen to prepare a nutritious meal. With a mix of seafood and tomatoes, he cooks up his specialty dish. The soup is steamy hot but he doesn’t mind. He gulps it immediately. As he drinks, his little belly begins to grow rounder, expanding with each sip. By the time he finishes, his body is as round as a balloon. Moving on his two stubby legs becomes a challenge, so he decides to roll around. Using his spherical shape to his advantage, he rolls out of the kitchen and around the house.  He gains speed like a bullet—a weapon of destructive power. Not only has he mastered most weapons, but he’s also become one himself. Behold, the lethal Childe plushie!

— Both my f/os (Natsume and Tsumugi) aren't the ones I produce in the game, I kind of treat it as the difference between their idol personas and such! That plus I treat Natsumon and Shinigamugi as completely separate, like different characters all together.

2.) We all know that the ensemble stars!! cast are all about being chaotic, so who's the more chaotic one between your f/o and yourself?

— I kin both Natsume and Tsumugi too, I think that means I catch both of their freaks. But Natsume has his own pride to worry about, while Tsumugi is more lowkey about it, meanwhile I'm a little more.. unhinged.

3.) if you're in a romantic relationship with your f/o, or a qpp/qpr, do you think your f/o's unit members would accept your relationship status?

— Since I'm with 2/3 of Switch itself… It's probably good to say that 2/3 would accept right off the bat HAHA- to be serious though, I think Sora is very supportive. Especially when Yuuri also has to deal with how busy Natsume and Mugi are, so Sora and Yuuri both end up spending a lot of time together.

— Idol x Idol technically? Yuuri technically also is an idol alongside them, but she's not in an active unit whatsoever since she's attending college.

— Galaxy Destiny, Finder Girl and Magic for your "Switch"?

— I prefer the canon version moreso, since both natsume and tsumugi are really complex characters and I don't tend to sway with how most of the fandom views them..

— Between Yuuri and Mugi.. Yuuri confessed first between them, by pulling him aside somewhere, although he kind of politely rejects her? — I can't imagine them as sounding like anything else really… I'm amazed by the range their seiyuus have, but I'm perfectly content with how they sound.
