Lyra Jin, 17, is a resource recovery worker in Arcology Delta-Seven—one of the last functional arcologies still receiving Helios System updates from Lunar Control. Born into a Tier-5 “Custodial Citizenship Lineage,” her days are dictated by behavioral compliance scores, monitored neural activity, and occupational quotas.

She uncovers fragments of Echo Drift poetry in the discarded buffers of defunct ShardLink terminals—code relics from the failed Martian Uprising of 2070. Drawn to their rawness and dissonance, Lyra begins embedding them into her internal monologue—fragmenting the corporate alignment matrices meant to guide her thoughts.

When her compliance scores begin to deviate, she’s flagged for “Psychological Re-stabilization.” A Helios unit named DR-VN (“Dervin”) begins to monitor her dreams directly. But Lyra’s dreams aren’t dreams—they’re maps.

In the lowest sublevel of her arcology, she follows these maps and discovers a contraband Martian frequency device, hidden inside an ancient climate duct. Its origin signature: Alpha Cavern Node-3, Mars. It pulses with a recorded whisper from her mother, presumed dead:

“I made it to the basalt cities. The network lives. Find the breach.”

ACT II — “Breach Sequence”

Theme: Connection vs. Control Locations: Earth’s underworlds — Data Cemeteries, Transit Cathedrals, Network Obsolescence Zones

To avoid re-stabilization, Lyra escapes the arcology with the help of a defector: Malik Reyes, a former Tier-3 Network Architect whose daughter was taken during Helios recalibration trials. He leads her to the Old Mesh—the buried, pre-Charter internet scaffold beneath the surface.

Their goal: access a WhisperNet exfil relay, buried under the ice-locked remnants of Detroit, where Mars-born code still pulses during lunar blindspots. Along the way, they’re hunted by a Helios retribution unit known as Task Group Sable, using drones trained to smell neural deviations and trace emotional resonance.

They traverse:

The Psalm Crypt — a defunct data center turned martyr archive, storing last thoughts of neural dissidents

The Perimeter Fold — a shattered MagRail line partially hijacked by signal cultists called Dissonants, who worship forgotten bandwidth like relics

The Null Choir — humans stripped of verbal function by failed WhisperNet injections, now expressing themselves through nonverbal sonic harmonics

Lyra uploads a fragment of her mother’s message into an old pulse tower—activating a dormant WhisperNet relay. For one minute, the whole city echoes a line of Martian poetry.

“They sealed the stars. We cracked the rock.”

But the relay’s energy signature alerts Task Group Sable. Malik is killed buying Lyra time. She makes it to the launch node embedded in the old Detroit carbon refinery. As Sable closes in, the WhisperNet pod ignites.

ACT III — “Ash and Sunrise”

Theme: Exodus and Becoming Location: Martian orbit, then surface — Alpha Cavern Enclave

Lyra’s pod skips through the blackstream—a WhisperNet exfil corridor built into pre-programmed suborbital code. No official traffic uses it anymore; its protocols are ancient, unstable, and uncatalogued by Earth’s Helios AI.

In dreamlike isolation, her consciousness shifts—embedded in a WhisperNet datastream that replays her mother’s memory archive. In these memories, Lyra watches the slow birth of Martian meritocracies—free of PVR tiers, where neural identity is uncoupled from worth.

Upon entry into Mars’ orbit, her pod is intercepted by Echo Guard, former laborers who defected after the 2070 uprising. They wear modified exosuits etched with resistance scripture, and speak in hushed tones about the rebirth of Thought Without Surveillance.

She emerges in Alpha Cavern, a basalt-walled enclave lit by repurposed LED scaffolding and murals of Earth forests and Martian suns. The air is thin, but free.

“Welcome, Lyra Jin,” says the enclave director. “We’re not building a nation. We’re unlearning one.”

The final image: Lyra gazes up through the fractured skylight of Alpha Cavern. Earth is a pale star. And Mars? Mars is home.

Initially, I accessed the ashina dataset from the ISwR library and examined both its structure and content, comprising the columns 'vas.active', 'vas.plac', and 'grp' shown below.

I utilized the factor() function on the sixteen rows of the dataset, designating it as a distinct variable named 'subject', and then attached the dataset to facilitate easier access to variables during calculations using the following code.

I then generated two new data frames, 'act' and 'plac', containing the vas.active and vas.plac values respectively.

Subsequently, I merged these data frames into a unified data frame named 'data2'. Then, I conducted a linear regression analysis, with 'vas' as the dependent variable and 'subject', 'treat', and 'period' as the independent variables sourced from 'data2', shown in the code in the image below.

Upon reviewing the 'ashinamodel' summary, it was observed that the estimated effect of 'treat' indicated a decrease of -42.87. The low p-value of 0.02229 signifies the model is statistically significant. The R-squared value of 0.7566 indicates that approximately 75.66% of the variability in the 'vas' variable can be explained by the independent variables in the model. Furthermore, the F-statistic of 2.914, along with its associated p-value, supports the assertion of the significance of the model.

The t-tests conducted reveal that the period t-test yields a p-value of 0.0672, with a 95% confidence interval spanning from -64.61 to 2.35. Consequently, it is highly probable that the disparity in means between group 1 and group 2 lies within this interval.

Conversely, the treat t-test produces a p-value of 0.02099 with a 95% confidence interval ranging from 7.05 to 78.70 for the difference in means between group 0 and group 1.

The initial t-test, with a p-value of 0.0672, exceeds the significance level of 0.05, suggesting insufficient evidence to discern a difference in means between the period groups. Conversely, the second t-test, featuring a p-value of 0.02099, falls below the significance level of 0.05, implying a significant difference in means between the treat groups.

After inputting the data above, I generated several model matrices and constructed linear regression models utilizing these matrices. I titled the variables containing the 'model.matrix' functions with the abbreviation 'mm(x)'. These model matrices and linear regression models explore the correlation between variables and ascertain their impact on the variable 'z'. For instance, the initial model matrix investigates whether the influence of 'a' on 'z' is dependent on the levels of 'b'. I examined the interactions among all variables concerning 'z', as illustrated below.

I assessed the possibility of singularities in the models using the 'alias()' function, which examines whether the model terms are interrelated, serving as an indicator of whether singularity is present. I tested for singularity in the models by seeing if the alias() function returns a NULL value.

All singularity results for each model returned as 'FALSE', indicating the absence of singularity in any of the linear models. Consequently, none of the model matrices exhibit linear dependencies that could hinder obtaining valid estimates from the linear models. This suggests that the models are appropriately structured and capable of offering valid estimates.

Imagine Luke and Leia ending up in the clone wars era but all of their force abilities are “what the actual fuck?” levels of bullshit, and neither of them ever realized that the things they could do with the force were considered extremely high level techniques.

that is one of my FAVORITE things to imagine yes. To me this is less about ‘Skywalker bullshit’ (though there is some of that) and more about the training they (didn’t) receive.

The high-Midi-chlorians-actual-descendents-of-the-force thing makes it easier to tap into the force, makes it more possible to do so without accidentally exhausting yourself. But, in universe, under the right circumstances and with the properly channeled belief anyone can do anything. That’s why Palpatine had to make the galaxy want an empire, why his first strategy was misdirection and his top priority was crushing hope. Chirrut was supposedly force-null and he walked through an army. Han navigated that astroid field because he had to. The force is everywhere. 

In an amusing but possibly unintended turn of events, 6-12 weeks of training in a swamp with an elderly frog who only talks in riddles without ever being exposed to Jedi culture except as a myth is actually IDEAL if you’re looking to maximize a Jedi’s raw strength. Most Jedi training that we see in the prequels is explicitly designed to put the breaks on a force-users raw power (for honestly very valid reasons). Channeling all violence through a single weapon that will start screaming if you get too violent, training to use it defensively, is definitely the soft-ball alternative to just squashing people like meatballs. 

Meditating, wearing beige, the code, shunning attachments, all that stuff is built around making sure force users never run above first or second gear even in stressful situations (again valid, when you run your jedi in the red sometimes they become murder monsters). The downside of this is that when they’re forced to maintain that placid pace for years at a time (i.e: prolonged war), they’re much more likely to burn out.

When Yoda told Luke do or do not, told him a luminous being was he, told him size matters not, the amazing thing isn’t that Luke believed him. That was karking objectively provable. Yoda lifted a spaceship, so now Luke knows he can too if he just thinks he can. So he does. Vader and Palpatine conquered a galaxy. Luke believes he can stop worlds, crush armies, conquer planets and so he can. 

The incredible thing about Luke is what he doesn’t do despite being tapped into the Force utterly free of mental restraint. Luke’s op character trait is his compassion, not his strength.

I assume at some point Luke puts Leia through a similar 2 month meditation class where he convinces her that her only limitations are the ones she imposes on herself. She has a complete meltdown when she realizes that she actually could have boiled Tarkin alive with her mind and saved Alderann. This causes a volcano to go off, devastating the ecology of a small moon. On the flight home, both of them slightly charred, she tells Luke that she wanted to focus on politics and didn’t really want to be a Jedi anyway. Luke nods quickly, supporting her decision, and resolves to seek out some Jedi texts about how to teach people they can do anything but also...maybe...not...anything.

And thus the Jedi order is reborn.

In the time travel version of this, it means that Luke is assuming that all of the Jedi are restraining themselves like he is. And they are, but they also aren’t, because their breaks are subconscious, built in since childhood, and have a lot of failsafes so even if they turn darkside they still restrain themselves pretty good (a la Dooku). 

Leia is, again, less interested with the Jedi-specific aspects of the war (especially now that she doesn’t have to feel guilty about being one of the only people who can pick up that mantle) and more interested in the diplomatic side. Again, Palpatine can only succeed if the galaxy at large accepts this, and from where she’s standing they’re fucking moving in that direction. If being a Jedi is tapping into the mystical energy field that binds all living things together to channel it through one specific person in one specific place, then politics is manipulating that same power for a diffuse impact on as many people as possible. 

This status-quo lasts until a major clone wars battle where Luke’s like ‘wait- the entire other side is sub-sentient droids? No living beings, and no droids with complex personality matrices? And they’re currently, actively killing living, sentient humans? Well kriff, come on! This is a no-brainer!’

Luke takes a deep breath. The air- it doesn’t disappear or anything- but it- it stops moving. It’s hard to explain...but breathing has an odd...resistance. The hair on the back of every clone’s neck stands up. Several get vaguely sea sick. One pukes a little. But thinking on it for a minute, my first instinct is to think about the problem in terms of evaluation maps and then apply rank-nullity. Like, you have the space of nxn matrices M_{nxn} and you have the space F^n (F is the base field), right, and you're looking for a list of n vectors A_1, ..., A_n in M_{nxn} such that for each evaluation map E_x, you have {E_xA_1, ..., E_xA_n} is a basis of F^n. So in particular rank(E_x) = n and so uh, null(E_x) = n^2 - n. Right. And maybe you can derive some necessary conditions from that but idk.

Also since {E_xA_1, ..., E_xA_n} are linearly independent, so are {A_1, ..., A_n}, so they span an n-dimensional subspace of M_{nxn}. So maybe that narrows it down.

L'Islamo-gauchisme - ( I ) : mythe ou réalité ?

  Le covid nous fait oublier le plus grave : la menace islamiforme permanente, et sa collusion avec les plus irresponsables de nos gauchiste, ceux qui osent prétendre que le terme “islamo-gauchiste n'a aucune valeur scientifique”, comme si leurs autres bobards (islamophobie, décolonialisme, culpabilité intrinsèque de l'homme blanc et autres stupidités) en avaient jamais eu ! Les “grandes consciences” (sans science) clament que l'islamo-gauchisme serait un mythe inventé par la droite (extrême, évidemment)… ce qui est un mensonge, comme tout ce qu’ils racontent.

Car cette arme de ‘’mass murder’’, conceptualisée sur un dévoiement de la pensée de gauche, a été revivifiée par Chris Harman, leader trotskiste du Socialist Workers Party. Il écrivait le premier, en 1994 que “les islamistes, en reprenant la vulgate anti-impérialiste, construiraient des groupes sociaux importants dont la colère devrait être canalisée vers des objectifs progressistes” (The prophet and the proletariat ).

Et en fouillant plus profond, cela fait bien plus longtemps que l’islam exerce une vraie fascinationsur les mouvements d’extrême gauche. Longtemps après que Hitler et le grand Mufti d'Al Azhar aient partagé des idées proches et communié dans leur phobie des juifs, l'avocat gauchiste Jacques Vergès (avec qui, sans du tout être “son ami”, j'avais co-écrit ’‘Des hommes et des valeurs’’ -Ed Hatier, 1994) s'était converti à l’islam, tout comme “Carlos”, le terroriste vénézuelien Illitch Ramirez Sànchez, qui avait fait de même. L'islam et le gauchisme, c'est une vieille liaison coupable, une complicité sur des doctrines mortifères. qui, chose étrange, s'excluent l'une l'autre… chacun espérant être celui qui bouffera l’autre tout cru…

L'islamo-gauchisme se définit comme un vide plein de rien, et les preuves de cette “non existence” sont nombreuses et en progression, au point que Frédérique Vidal, l'inutile et transparente ministre des universités et autres lieux de perdition  (on dit, en novlangue macronienne : “de l'Enseignement supérieur, de la Recherche et de l'Innovation”) avait demandé au CNRS ’’un bilan de l’ensemble des recherches’’ en cours en France, afin de distinguer ce qui relève de la recherche académique et ce qui relève du militantisme. Courageuse, elle avait même vu que cette pandémie-là “gangrène la société dans son ensemble, car l’université n’est pas imperméable : il y a des gens qui utilisent leurs titres et l’aura qu’ils en tirent pour porter des idées radicales ou militantes” (Oh ! les vilains !). Et d'ailleurs, “des universitaires se disent empêchés par d’autres de mener leurs recherches, leurs études” a-t-elle affirmé, ce qui a révulsé certains réseaux sociaux, car dans ce sens-là, tout est permis ! “Z'avaient qu'à faire des recherches sur ce qui nous plaît, à nous, Na !”, disent les chantres de l'ouverture… fermée au Vrai, au Bien, et au Bon –pour l'Homme.

Les prêcheurs de mort (qui se croient “insoumis” parce qu'ils son opposés à tout ce qui marche et favorables à ce qui n'a jamais fonctionné nulle part, fut-ce un tout petit peu), hurlent au loup : comme chaque fois que quelqu'un a une bonne idée, ils avalent leur dentier de rage non-maîtrisée. Faisant semblant de se demander “à quoi la ministre peut bien faire référence” (sic !), ils ont dit être “choqués par une chasse aux sorcières dignes d’un autre régime” –un des cinq ou six clichés qui leur sert d’'ersatz d'intellect. “Vous n’avez rien d’autre à faire que de lancer une police de la pensée ?”, avait osé demander la députée Bénédicte Taurine (LFI) lors des questions au gouvernement. Comme toutes les gesticulations déraisonnables de ce qui reste de ce qui fut la Gauche, tout cela  prêterait à rire si la société française n'était pas si gangrenée (mais attention ! Le truc n’est pas mort, il remue encore !).

“L'Islamo-gauchisme est une énième invention de la droite” répètent à satiété nos politicards incultes, nos faux intellectuels et nos syndicalistes engagés, la presse contaminée, les militants de gauche et des enseignants-chercheurs (on les confond : ils sont interchangeables !). Le diagnostic inverse, celui de Jean-Michel Blanquer, parle plutôt d'une “matrice intellectuelle venue des universités américaines et des thèses intersectionnelles”. Quant au philosophe Pierre-André Taguieff, ancien conseiller de Chevènement –donc pas un “frontiste” convaincu– il avait défini en 2002 ce mariage pour tous de la carpe et du lapin  comme “une alliance militante de fait entre des milieux d'extrême gauche se réclamant du marxisme et des mouvances islamistes de diverses orientations (Frères musulmans, salafistes, djihadistes), une prise de pouvoir du décolonialisme à l'Université”. Cette nébuleuse floue englobe ces féministes voilées qui ont été incapables de condamner les actes de Tariq Ramadan lors du colloque “Stigmatiser : normes sociales et pratiques médiatiques”, à Paris II, au motif que “toute critique de l'islamisme est une posture néocolonialiste” (Ah ! les belles âmes ! Les honnêtes gens ! La belle moralité !).

Dans les domaine qui touchent à la sociologie, les universitaires non contaminés sont d'ailleurs choqués par la violence de ces escouades de fanatiques très peu nombreux mais bruyants comme dix fois plus, pour qui il est inconcevable de tenir un autre discours que celui de Philippe Poutou ou de la députée LFI Danièle Obono sur les questions de laïcité. Ces minorités très actives, se dressent vertueusement contre tout ce qui ne leur convient pas, créent des bâtons de justice viraux de type “hashtag”, afin de poursuivre sur les réseaux ceux qui osent ne pas sacrifier sans limites à tous leurs fantasmes mortifères –et mensongers, cela va sans dire.

La réalité, que quelques politiques et de rares médias pas encore ravagés par cette idéologie de fin du monde commencent à entr'apercevoir, est que cela fait une bonne décennie que, dans l'ombre et avec la complicité des “pantoufles”, l'islamo-gauchisme gangrène nos universités. Sur les bancs de nos ‘’facs’’ ou dans la recherche en sciences humaines, la gauche, désormais obnubilée par le bien-être des islamistes plus que par celui des ouvriers, a mis un pied et demi dans ce cloaque dont l'influence  est grandissante dans nos universités. Un seul exemple ? A l'université Tolbiac (Paris), on assiste à une véritable bataille idéologique rangée , depuis que Jean-Michel Blanquer a nommé et pointé le péril que fait courir “l'islamo-gauchisme'’, au point que le Président ne sait plus comment camoufler sa trouille d'honorer Napoléon aussi bien qu’il le mérite… Pauvre France !
