Melissa hated her feelings.
She buried them in a chest in the 5th grade (along with her ability to express them). Other peoples' feelings on the other hand was her forte. She could process, decipher and regurgitate other peoples emotions effortlessly. This gift could’ve taken her through college, all the way to a degree in psychology. Distinguished Dr. Jefferson with a PhD and a cozy office and impressive roster of high-profile, weallthy clients was a shiny idea. Fate would have a different hand for Melissa her talents were exhausted on mediating family fights, friend group drama, and charming her way out of confronting her own feelings.
“Feelings.” Even saying it out loud to herself seemed silly. Something reserved for ‘cry babies’ and water signs. Typical Sunday nights started tame, reading or writing fan-fiction and drinking cranapple juice. And then like clock work her father would yell her name,
‘MELISSA!!!’ Emotionless, she’d get up dust off her Winnie the Pooh shorts and make her way downstairs. On the long walk down the hall to the stairs leading to the living room brawl, she’d go through her check list:
1.) Don’t cry.
 2.) Stay neutral; Deescalate
3.)Don’t take anything personal. This isn’t about you
She padded down the carpeted stairs in her old soft socks to see her mother tightlipped and tear streaked thinking,
‘she broke rule number 1’. Her father, Michael was proud and angry, his big belly filled with self righteousness. She knew he would be unyielding in his resolve and at this point her only option was to deescalate.
‘Rule number 2’. Then her sister the water sign and calamity for the evening sat on the floor nearly fetal, face red and raw with emotion.
‘Its not your fault’ Melissa wanted to say ‘You just didn’t follow the rules… you’re loved.’ But she couldn’t say that because she’d be breaking rule number 3. It wasn’t about how Melissa felt. Even though she felt like screaming,
“VANESSA, YOU DIDN’T DO ANYTHING WRONG. DAD—YOU JUST HAVE PENT UP ANGER BECAUSE YOU GREW UP IN THE HOOD OF DETROIT AS A BLACK MAN IN THE 60s AND 70s. YOU NEED A HEALTHY OUTLET LIKE.. I DONT KNOW… THERAPY?!?!?! THIS IS A WASTE OF ALL OF OUR TIME. I LITERALLY JUST WROTE THE BEST SAILOR SATURN x CHIBI USA FANFICTION EVER AND THIS IS KILLING MY VIBE!”
Instead, she decide to hear every one out. She decided to help. To calm her dragon of a father down. To be a translator for her emotional sister. To not take it personal. To stay neutral. To not cry.
9 years later, at her fathers funeral she still never broke the rules. She played her flute and spoke at his memorial. She was present for her mother because it wasn’t about her. When other peoples' emotions bubbled up she stayed neutral. She sat through both services and she did not cry. It wasn’t until she excused herself to make a phone call outside did she collapse onto the stairs of the funeral home and weep alone in the cold Detroit snow.
It’s okay to break the rules sometimes, she reminded herself. As long as no one else sees it.
Traumas began to compact on Melissa, as they do. Humans tend to collect traumas like pebbles on a long hike. We toss them into our backpacks and keep moving forward. Some hikers would falter, but Melissa was built for this. She’d carried the stones of her family’s traumas uphill for years. She was strong.
When men began to befriend and reject her, saying ‘you’re too good for me’ but not too good to make them feel good. She carried that.
When childhood friends began to cut off the strings of her heart, saying ‘We can’t be friends anymore’. She carried that.
When her family separated like dandelion seeds, it seemed like they’d never be together again. Melissa slept on so many couches, floors and car seats sometimes she didn’t know if she’d see them again.
She carried that.
Dying was never an option though sometimes she didn’t mind the thought of it. Peace and warmth were two things she’d desperately yearned and hadn’t felt fully since the womb. Then one night in the pitch black of the hot, sweaty, roach-infested studio in southeast Houston she slept in she wondered:
‘Why can’t I break the rules?’ She’d seen everyone else in her life break them like popsicle sticks. And she didn’t just want to break the rules, she wanted to break them boldly and loudly and annoyingly and honestly and sloppily like every one else gets to do. It was in that moment, tucked in a thin jacket inside of an 8-foot high instrument cubby in the inky darkness—it hit her.
‘Is my suffering for a high purpose? Or is my suffering trying to kill me?’
She cried.
She escalated.
She took it personal.
But it wasn’t enough. She wanted to scream in a microphone in a sea of shadowy faces. She drank whiskey and wove her pain into rock music.
‘Music is my boyfriend’ she declared. The only man that kept his baggage to hisself. And it healed her. It gave her voice reason and purpose.
The pebble-laden hike became lighter with time. The incline eventually evened out to flat, beautiful landscapes where the breeze finally met her back. She knew it wasn’t gonna be easy or sunshine but even the rain cleansed her and it was beautiful too.
Somewhere in the rain she decided rules were meant to be built and broken. Like trust and love and friendships and families. Because every thing deserves the opportunity to change and grow.
So... She broke rule number 1 on stage while singing a beautiful song. Dr. Jefferson (PhD) screamed for her to stop but she didn’t listen and the tears flowed like rivers of emotion down her cheeks.
Rule number 2 was broken when she grew older and saw the injustices of the world. Marching with hundreds in protest she realized not everything needs to be pacified.
And one day when she finally fell in love, she broke rule number 3. No matter how much training she’d done she couldn't help but take every thing her lover said and did personal. But it was ok. Because in all her resistance she realized breaking rules was her power.
Melissa began to fall for her feelings. Her feelings gave life purpose. They weren’t always logical, as feelings seldom are. They were sloppy and embarrassing and rude and so fucking uncomfortable. But they were hers. And they were real. And when she sat alone sipping wine, staring at the moon…They were the only ones still by her side. Ready to break the rules for her because they loved her.
And she finally loved them back.

wait why ranboo (idk much abt him)
ESSAY WARNING AHEAD do not fucking repost this shit anywhere holy fuck i will kill you!!!!!!! respect my boundaries :((
ok my thought process was somewhere along the lines of
rboo (kid wanting to blow up as a mcyter during summer 2020) getting attention through making fan content of dream smp (also trying to write themself into the lore) -> dream (kid who blew up as an mcyter before the pandemic hit, getting even more insane numbers) sees himself in rboo, adds him to the dream smp
-> path 1: parasocial stan delusion - ran is both viewer and cc, relatable to viewers in a down to earth way while gaining an insane amount of success very very fast -> heightened scrutiny to not fuck things up because his audience is full of normal people who care about social justice on paper (part of dreams influence in having a gender and race diverse (somewhat) audience) -> growing importance of boundaries (tm) -> fandom becomes insanely blue haired liberal and jumps on every mistake, demanding quick and GOOD apologies for both inane and serious shit -> fandom becomes volatile and creates disproportionate responses to everything -> they (rboo) become spineless -> this attitude and spinelessness leaks over to the whole of mcyt since most of dsmp shared an audience at that point -> feedback loop we see today (sidebar: growing media illiteracy combined with volatile reactions extend to lore shit on all ends and was absolutely compounded by their joining -> "sanctity" of the lore -> michael -> dsmp audiences split over the parasocial belief that character = content creator's thoughts beliefs and actions in real life instead of. acting)
-> path 2: control and queerness - branch off from blue haired liberal -> viewers have good intentions in wanting more rep in the cc space (queer and women, not so much race) -> marginalized communities cant afford to make mistakes as much as white men in the space -> disproportionate amount of criticism for both white men and marginalized ccs -> viewers attempting to take control of ccs due to ran blurring the line between viewer and cc during lockdown/most viewers' formative social years being taken from them -> not much education about queerness in the first place -> queerbaiting discourse and queer being a symbol of goodness -> people seemed to want dream to be straight and evil and ran to be gay/queer and good -> double standards when dream and ran come out because of dream's perceived power, status, and past growing up in conservative florida he had already been addressing, but ran gets a warm welcome because of bending to the audience more than dream has and past not holding as many mistakes meaning they could claim queer as an identity -> selective biphobia because if dream is queer hes a bad queer so everything he does is evil
-> return to main thread - brighton bastards formed, beeduo date and break up, everyone becomes bitter boots after lockdown ends and dream abandons his adopted bastard child he came to love that george originally gave birth to -> october and drexodus -> quackity resentment somewhere in there behind the scenes, dtkq breakup -> former audience split over lore comes back into -> qsmp shit -> dream and by extension dteam/munchy is evil except badboyhalo who supports dream but is still on qsmp because hes a lore andy -> schisms from the past continue to grow, new schism of q's side vs dream's side appears (secret third challenger of brighton floptopia) -> people air out their dirty laundry and snide comments -> november and december -> relative peace -> march-> karl gets hit by a car -> present day -> dnf sextape
i may be wrong for quite a bit of this but this is how i saw it . again this is a tumblr exclusive if you repost this anywhere even iwth my url cropped i will fucking kill you.

Sebastian Vettel: At Ferrari until the end of his career?
February 15, 2016
Ferrari star Sebastian Vettel talks about the past, present and future with Ferrari. The Heppenheimer also reveals what his top five are in life.
A year with Ferrari is over. Four-time Formula 1 champion Sebastian Vettel sums it up like this: "Fantastic. I never dreamed that my first season with Ferrari would go so well. What impressed me most was the dedication, passion, enthusiasm and fascination of every single employee, but also the fans, for the Ferrari brand. Ferrari is simply a myth. All of my expectations that I had put into my involvement with Ferrari have been completely fulfilled. I would definitely take this step again." Vettel continues on his own homepage: "Ferrari has always been something special for me. Even as a little boy, I dreamed of sitting in a Ferrari. Ferrari naturally enjoys a special position in Formula 1 due to its history and tradition." Michael Schumacher's influence can still be felt at Ferrari today. Vettel says: "There are pictures of Michael everywhere, and many people from back then are still part of the team. Both of these things make Michael a member of the team." But of course not everything was rosy in 2015: "It's no secret that we're not yet where we want to be and there are things we need to improve. Engine, chassis, aerodynamics – it was the sum of many things where we had deficits compared to Mercedes. But the improvement of the entire team compared to the previous year was huge. That's why I see the 2015 season as a complete success. I think we've already been able to annoy Mercedes a few times." Speaking of being annoying: Fortunately, we have another German Grand Prix in 2016 after the planned race at the Nürburgring had to be canceled last year. Vettel is happy: "It is of course a very special honor for a driver to drive in his own country, so I would have been very happy to be able to compete in front of my own fans in my first year with Ferrari. But since we are in Hockenheim this year, the anticipation is now greater than the sadness about the canceled Grand Prix." Of course, the 28-year-old has also observed that enthusiasm for Formula 1 has declined: "Mercedes' dominance over the last two years obviously takes away the excitement for many fans. In addition, the current regulations focus on too many details. I think we must not lose the roots of motorsport and I hope for everyone that the cars will become more tangible again in the future. The viewer must be able to identify with the technology in the car again; at the moment it is far too complex. In addition, the sound is missing." Crucial question: What are the chances that Vettel can become world champion in a Ferrari in 2016? The 42-time GP winner answers: "Better ask a bookmaker. It is always difficult to make a prediction about the coming season, but of course we will give it our all. I would love it if Kimi were my World Championship rival because that would mean that we have a very strong car with which we can both fight for the title." Would Vettel put money on the title? The world champion from 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013 grins: "Are you even allowed to bet on yourself?" Some fans are wondering: Could Ferrari be Vettel's last stop as a driver in Formula 1? Sebastian says: "Maybe. Purely in terms of type, I'm not the kind of person who keeps switching to a different team from one year to the next. That's not me, I've never been that. In no area of life. At the moment I feel very comfortable and we all have a big common goal of what we want to achieve."
Sebastian Vettel: My top five
Before Sebastian Vettel wore the 1 of the world champion for four years, Red Bull Racing had the 5 on his racing vehicle, just like it had on the kart almost ten years earlier. So the Heppenheimer returned to this number. From the starting number to Vettel's top five. Five favorite dishes "Pasta, pasta, pasta, pasta, pasta. That's five, right? I'm joking. Pasta, steak, caprese. I can eat it anytime, even for breakfast. Schnitzel, and we’re still missing something sweet: vanilla ice cream." Five favorite cities "New York, Rome. Frankfurt, Berlin. No, one city in Germany is enough. So Frankfurt, Paris, London, pretty classic." Five favorite places "My bedroom. I love sleeping. The forest, the mountains, the paddock and my car." Five cars and motorcycles "What a question! Okay: BMW 507, Ferrari 250 California, Ferrari F40, an old Vespa and... I could name 20 more, what a shame. NSU Max, my grandfather's favorite motorcycle from the fifties."

ASK EDDIE returns Thursday, April 6, 7:00 PM PT to our Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/filmnoirfoundation/live
FNF prez Eddie Muller responds to film noir fan questions fielded by the Foundation's Director of Communications Anne Hockens. In this episode, we discuss the selection process for the Oscar’s “In Memoriam” presentation, season two of Perry Mason, Park Chan-wook’s Decision to Leave, the impact of the studio system’s treatment of talent on film noirs, “transitional” film noir and more. We wind things up answering two possibly divisive questions, who is the toughest male protagonist in noir and what is the best film noir. On the cat front, Emily and Charlotte are background players.
Want your question answered in a future episode? We solicit questions from our email subscribers in our monthly newsletters. Sign up for free at https://www.filmnoirfoundation.org/signup.html
Everyone who signs up on our email list and contributes $20 or more to the Film Noir Foundation receives the digital version of NOIR CITY Magazine for a year. Donate here: https://www.filmnoirfoundation.org/contribute.html
This week’s questions:
1.       What do you think of the methodology used by the Academy to determine inclusions for the In Memoriam during the Oscars' broadcast, and is it possible to submit names for inclusion? Pete from sunny Sydney, Australia.
2.       Given how hard it was to find the elements to restore Detour, what are the odds of rescuing films from a now defunct independent movie company?
Michael Johnson, Post Falls, Idaho
3.       We thought "El vampiro negro" was great. About a half hour into it, we spotted a brief shot of Chicago (the Wrigley Building, the Michigan Ave. Bridge, two buses with "Chicago" on the sides, and a Schlitz sign!).  Do you know what happened?
Donna and David, in Chicago
4.       Just looking for your thoughts on season two of “Perry Mason” on HBO.
Kathy
5.       Have you seen “Decision to Leave”, South Korean director Park Chan-wook's acclaimed new neo-noir? Kathleen from Chicago
6.       In your book “Dark City”, you link the Hollywood studio system to the rise and flourishing of film noir in the 40s.  Of course, the films were produced out of that system, but I think you are claiming more, that the moods and substance of noir films were (in part) generated out of the studio system and how it treated actors, directors, writers, and others. Could you say more about that?
Mike
7.       Can you recommend other film noir movies that are shot on location? If there aren’t that many film noirs shot on location, you can recommend non-noir but from the same time-era (1930-1960s).
Iisakki, Finland
8.       Are there any female-led detective noirs from the classic noir period (think “The Maltese Falcon” or “Murder, My Sweet” but with a female detective)? What about after the classic noir period? Ryan from Studio City adjacent (aka Valley Village, CA)
9.       I have a two-part question about Gloria Grahame:
What did you think of her Oscar winning performance in "The Bad and the Beautiful"? And, Eddie, are you happy or sad that you watched the Gloria Grahame performance you said you were "saving" to watch in "Man on a Tightrope"?
Marjorie from the poor part of Connecticut
10.   The femmes fatale are constantly discussed and are the proper focus of the genre. What I’d like to know is how Ann Shirley got from P.E.I. to Bay City?  How did the spunky orphan from Green Gables wind up on the west coast, being raised by a policeman? How did she find her way into LA journalism and falling in with Philip Marlowe?
Eric
11.   Do you think there is such thing as transitional film noir? Or do you think anything from 1960 onwards is simply neo-noir?
Brett Lambert, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
12.   What did you think of gene hackman in remake of “The Narrow Margin?”
Alan, San Anselmo, Ca.
13.   Eddie, you’ve mentioned that you’ve watched films several times. Is there, in your or Anne’s opinion, an optimal number of times a film should be watched to truly appreciate its many facets?
Your Henchman contributor, TB, Costa Mesa, CA
14.   Simple question:  in your opinion, who is the toughest male protagonist in the history of classic American film noir? My definition of toughness would be a character who is not intimidated by anybody, so my nominee would be Jeff Bailey from “Out of the Past”.
Joe, Hermosa Beach, CA
15.   What is the best film noir? This is a difficult question to answer, as there are many great film noirs that could be considered the best. Some of the most highly acclaimed films in this genre include “The Maltese Falcon” (1941), “Double Indemnity” (1944), “Out of the Past” (1947), and “Touch of Evil” (1958).
Brian from Toronto

LIZ’S PLEA FROM THE HEART
By LIZ MOORE and JANE MOORE
SUPERSTAR Liz Taylor stood before 72,000 cheering rock fans last night to make an emotional appeal on the worldwide spread of Aids.
Her stirring words came in a moving tribute to tragic Queen singer Freddie Mercury — a victim of the disease — at a Wembley concert in his honour.
The show, watched by a billion TV viewers worldwide, featured a galaxy of stars including Elton John, George Michael, David Bowie, Lisa Stansfield and Seal. Tickets were sold out within three hours — before any of the acts were even confirmed.
Liz told the crowd, many bedecked in red ribbons as a mark of respect: "Freddie was an extraordinary rock star who rushed across our cultural landscape like a comet shooting across the sky. The [Turn to Page 2]

We’re here to celebrate his dreams, cry as much as you like
[From Page 1] bright light of his talent still exhilarates even now that his life has been so cruelly extinguished.”
Liz, president of the American Foundation for Aids Research, was heckled by an unruly group shouting “get off”.
Security guards (…) in quickly to break up a fight after others in the crowd turned on them.
And Liz pointed angrily at them and shouted: “I’ll get off in a minute. I’ve got something to say first.”
Liz then carried on with her speech by urging fans not to share needles for drugs and practise safe sex with condoms.
“Please don’t let it happen to you,” she said. “You are the future of our world, you are the best and the brightest, you are the shining light that will illuminate a better world tomorrow.
“I will keep telling you until you do and I won’t give in and I won’t give up because the world needs you to live.”
From the moment Freddie Mercury’s words and music boomed out over the enormous speakers, the night belonged to him.
First on stage were the remaining members of Queen who announced the concert in February.
Voice crackling with emotion, drummer Roger Taylor said: “We are here to celebrate the life and dreams of Freddie.
“You can cry as much as you like.”
As the bright Bank Holiday was shone down on the 300ft stage, they introduced the opening act of the night — heavy rock band Metallica.
Fans went wild, waving Freddie Mercury memorial flags and banners throught the numbers.
The stage was cleared for the acts and (…) huge video screens either side sprang into life to show old footage of flamboyant Freddie in action.
As he sang The Great Pretender, the crowd — (…) in tears — stood in a respectful silence before erupting (…) applause at the end.
After US band Extreme, who (…) fans to a medley of Queen greatest hits, had left the stage Def Leppard played a track with Brian May.
Many of the fans in the audience wore a three-inch red ribbon, which has become a worlwide symbol of Aids campaignes.
Backstage Liz, who has seen many of her close friends die from the disease, presented singer George Michael with a £10,000 red rhinestone brooch in the shape of a ribbon.
Stars from all around the world offered their services for Freddie’s glittering(?) tribute, the biggest concert since Live Aid.
Bob Geldof, organiser of that concert and the tribute, was next on stage in a green floral suit to sing the song Too Late God.
He said: “It seems unlikely but Freddie and I were very good friends. This is a song we wrote together.”
The audience was later reduced to fits of laughter by outrageous rock band Spinal Tap who (…) for their grand entrance.
Guitarist Nigel Tufnell said: “Unfortunately Freddie was not as big a fan of us as we were of him. Therefore, in his honour we have got our set short by 35 songs. It’s what Freddie would have wanted.”
Then, speaking from America, super model Cindy Crawford introduced U2 via satellite from Sacramento, California and there were other link-ups with a concert in South Africa. Next on stage were rock band Guns ‘n’ Roses.
Later a procession of stars joined Queen’s surviving members for the group’s greatest hits, including Seal, Paul Young, Lisa Stansfield and an Under Pressure duet from David Bowie and Annie Lennox wearing a black make-up mask.
The final (…) came from George Michael and Elton John.
They all got a rapturous response from the crowd which included celebrities such as Michael Caine’s wife Shakira, golfer Nick Faldo, Michael Winner and Barbara Windsor.
Performers and friends had started arriving at the North London stadium throughout the afternoon.
But however early the stars arrived, Freddie’s dedicated fans were there hours and even days earlier.
Coming from all across Europe and beyond, they claimed a few (…) by the (…) and (…) their (…) to a rock legend.
Freddie Mercury once said: “I always knew I was a star.” Last night proved that the legend lives on.

Rage Against the Machine Share Statement on Rock Hall 2023 Induction
Tumblr media
Rage Against the Machine, February 1993 (Gie Knaeps/Getty Images)
This morning, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fameannounced its class of 2023, which includes Rage Against the Machine. Now, the band has shared a statement thanking the Rock Hall for the induction, and recounting the long, radical journey that led up to the honor. “It is a surprising trajectory for us to be welcomed into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame,” Rage Against the Machine wrote. “In 1991 four people in Los Angeles formed a musical group to stand where sound and and solidarity intersect. We called ourselves Rage Against the Machine.”
The group continued: “A band who is as well known for our albums as we are for our fierce opposition to the US war machine, white supremacy and exploitation. A band whose songs drove alternative radio to new heights while right wing media companies tried to purge every song we ever wrote from the airwaves.” Find Rage Against the Machine’s full statement below.
Rage Against the Machine were nominated for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame a total of five times. They have been inducted alongside Kate Bush, Missy Elliott, Sheryl Crow, George Michael, Willie Nelson, and the Spinners. The 2023 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place on Friday, November 3, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Last July, Rage Against the Machine set out on their first tour in over a decade, which was scheduled to run well into 2023. Unfortunately, vocalist Zack de la Rocha sustained a leg injury during their second concert in Chicago. By August, the band had canceled the European stint of the reunion tour, followed by the October cancellation of their 2023 trek across North America. The band revealed that the decision was due to de la Rocha’s leg injury—a tear in his left Achilles tendon.
Rage Against the Machine: Rage Against the Machine:
It is a surprising trajectory for us to be welcomed into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In 1991 four people in Los Angeles formed a musical group to stand where sound and and solidarity intersect. We called ourselves Rage Against the Machine.
A band who is as well known for our albums as we are for our fierce opposition to the US war machine, white supremacy and exploitation
A band whose songs drove alternative radio to new heights while right wing media companies tried to purge every song we ever wrote from the airwaves
A band who shut down the NY Stock Exchange for the first time in its history
A band who was targeted by police organizations who attempted to ban us from sold out arenas for raising our voices to free Mumia Abu Jamal, Leonard Peltier and other political prisoners
A band who sued the US State Department for their fascist practice of using our music to torture innocent men in Guantanamo Bay
A band who wrote rebel songs in an abandoned, industrial warehouse in the valley that would later dethrone Simon Cowell’s X Factor pop monopoly to occupy the number 1 spot on the UK charts and have the most downloaded song in UK history
A band who funded and organized delegations to stand with Mexican rebel Zapatista communities to expose the Mexican government’s war on indigenous people
A band whose experimentation in fusing punk, rock and hip hop became a genre of its own
Many thanks to the Hall of Fame for recognizing the music and the mission of Rage Against the Machine. We are grateful to all of the passionate fans, the many talented co-conspirators we’ve worked with and all the activists, organizers, rebels and revolutionaries past, present and future who have inspired our art.

Biggie Small Net Worth 2023: How Much Money Did The Notorious B.I.G. Have?
Tumblr media
Born in the heart of Brooklyn, Christopher Wallace, better known as Biggie Smalls, rose to fame as one of the most iconic rappers of the 90s. With a voice that commanded attention and lyrics that told tales of the struggles and triumphs of life, Biggie's impact on the music industry was undeniable. Even after his untimely death, his legacy lives on, and his music continues to inspire a new generation of fans.
How Much Money Did The Notorious B.I.G. Have?
At the time of his death, the Notorious B.I.G., an iconic American rapper, was worth $10 million. As of this writing, the circumstances surrounding his death from a drive-by shooting on March 9, 1997, at the age of 24 remain unknown.
Early Life Of Biggie Small
He was born Christopher George Latore Wallace on May 21, 1972, in Brooklyn, New York, and became known as The Notorious B.I.G. He was born to Voletta Wallace and Selwyn George Latore, two Jamaicans, and he was their only child. When he was just two years old, his father abandoned his family. As a child, Wallace lived in Clinton Hill, a neighborhood of Brooklyn not far from Bedford-Stuyvesant. In middle school, he excelled academically, earning a number of English-related awards.
Rap Career Biggie Small
After his release from prison, "Biggie Smalls" released "Microphone Murderer," a demo. The Source's Unsigned Hype editor featured Biggie after hearing the recording. The demo tape was also given to Uptown Records A&R and producer Sean "Puffy" Combs. After Combs signed Biggie, Heavy D & the Boyz featured him. Uptown fired Combs in 1993. He started Bad Boy Records soon. Wallace joined Combs' record label on launch day. Biggie's big break was appearing on Mary J. Blige's "Real Love" (remix). He garnered music industry notice as a guest performer. He remixed Craig Mack's "Flava in Ya Ear" with LL Cool J and Busta Rhymes in July 1994.

Biggie Small Net Worth 2023 Biggie released Ready to Die, his first solo album, on September 13, 1994. The Billboard Hot 100 ranked the song thirteenth. "Big Poppa" and "One More Chance" from the album reached #1. Over 1.1 million units were sold in 1995. It went six times platinum. Busta Rhymes said Wallace gave away free copies of Ready to Die from his residence for self-promotion and grassroots marketing. A second album from Notorious B.I.G., recorded over 18 months starting in September 1995. He visited New York, Trinidad, and Los Angeles. He also worked on Michael Jackson's ninth album, HIStory. Biggie was jailed in March 1996 for chasing and threatening to murder two autograph seekers in a Manhattan nightclub. Community service was 100 hours. Biggie was arrested for drug and firearm possession later that year. Biggie's meteoric rise elevated East Coast rap despite West Coast rap's peak popularity. As expected, coasts clashed. After a falling out and diss recordings, Tupac and the Notorious B.I.G. sparked the East Coast vs. West Coast hip-hop battle. On September 7, 1996, six bullets killed Tupac in a drive-by shooting. He died six days later. Biggie's family dismissed the murder rumors. Death To promote his second studio album and film the music video for its lead single Hypnotize, Death Wallace jetted off to the Golden State in February 1997. Since he was concerned for his safety, he hired security guards. Biggie was shot and killed in a drive-by outside a Los Angeles museum on March 9, 1997, six months after Tupac had been killed in the same way. Earlier in the night, he had presented Toni Braxton with an award at the Soul Train Music Awards. At 12:45 a.m., as Biggie was leaving an afterparty, a black Chevy Impala pulled up next to his truck. When an unknown assailant opened fire on Wallace's vehicle, four bullets struck his vehicle. Biggie was rushed to Cedars-Sinai by his crew, but he was pronounced dead at 1:15 a.m., at the age of 24. The funeral was held on March 18 in Manhattan, and 350 people attended to pay their respects, including Queen Latifah, Busta Rhymes, Salt-N-Pepa, and many more. Both rappers were brutally murdered, and no one has ever been brought to justice. There are many differing theories and perspectives on what really happened to the two men. On March 25, 1997, just 16 days after Wallace's death, his second solo studio album was released. It was certified Diamond in 2000, making it one of the rare hip-hop albums to reach the top spot on the Billboard album charts. In the end, this album would earn 11 platinum certifications. The Notorious B.I.G.'s rapping style was known for its relaxed flow, the apparent autobiographical nature of its dark lyrics, and its ability to tell stories. Several albums and compilations have been released in his honor since his passing. Biggie's estate would make tens of millions of dollars in the decades after his death. Posthumous album releases, re-releases, licensing deals, and other factors have helped increase Biggie's estate to an estimated $160 million today. His mom, Voletta Wallace, is in charge of the estate. Along with Biggie's former manager Wayne Barrow, a merchandising manager, and several lawyers, Biggie's widow Faith Evans helps manage the estate. Personal Life Of Biggie Small
The couple had broken up by the time Wallace and his high school sweetheart Jan had their first child, T'yanna, on August 8, 1993. On August 4, 1994, Biggie married R&B singer Faith Evans. Reports say the couple got married just days after meeting at a Bad Boy photo shoot. On October 29, 1996, Evans gave birth to Biggie's son, Christopher C.J. Wallace Jr.  After rumors spread that Evans had an affair with Tupac Shakur, she became embroiled in the East Coast vs. West Coast rivalry. As of Wallace's passing, he and Evans had been living apart but were not divorced.

Great books where the Main character is a writer
The following books are great reads about different struggles and events a writer can face during his career
1. Less by Andrew Sean Green
Tumblr media
Arthur is a failed novelist about to turn fifty. A wedding invitation arrives in the mail: his boyfriend of the past nine years now engaged to someone else. He can’t say yes--it would all be too awkward--and he can’t say no--it would look like defeat. Thus begins an around-the-world-in-eighty-days fantasia that will take Arthur Less to Mexico, Italy, Germany, Morocco, India and Japan and put thousands of miles between him and the problems he refuses to face. What could possibly go wrong?
2. Misery by Stephen King
Tumblr media
Paul Sheldon, author of a bestselling series of historical romances, wakes up one winter day in a strange place, a secluded farmhouse in Colorado. He wakes up to unspeakable pain (a dislocated pelvis, a crushed knee, two shattered legs) and to a bizarre greeting from the woman who has saved his life: "I'm your number one fan!"
3. Wonder Boys by Michael Gabon
Tumblr media
In his first novel since The Mysteries of Pittsburgh, Chabon presents a hilarious and heartbreaking work—the story of the friendship between the "wonder boys"—Grady, an aging writer who has lost his way, and Crabtree, whose relentless debauchery is capsizing his career.

June 5th Queer Fear 2
Tumblr media
[Image ID: The cover of Queer Fear 2 edited by Michael Rowe. It features two white men with shoulder length hair against a dark background, in chiaroscuro style with extreme contrast. One man stands in front of the other, looking back at him. Behind him the other man looks directly in front at the reader, his arm around the other. End ID.]
Why 2 and not 1? Well the openlibrary only had copies of 2 so I can't really say anything about the first since I haven't read it. Although I can only assume if you like 2 you would probably like 1?
Triggers
Rape and sexual assault, incest, racism, homophobia, ableism
Summary
An anthology of LGBT horror short stories, oftentimes featuring urban fantasy as well. Mostly features stories by and about gay and bi men.

Review
So I really enjoy horror and short stories, so I was excited to find this while browsing the open library basically just trying to find anything gay. Once I finished it, I thought that it was a bit hit and miss, because like any anthology not every author or story is gonna click. But writing this and looking over the stories again, I think I enjoyed it more than I actually remember. Mostly I want to recommend it because I don't think this is something most people would stumble upon and I know a lot of people want to find representation in genre fiction like horror, sci fi, and fantasy.
Ultimately though, I wouldn't recommend it unless you're already a fan of horror or really like experimental writing, since a lot of the writing here is pretty unique like artGod, Oh Yes, My Eyes, and Freshets. But if you are I think there's a lot to like. This anthology is more focused on horror with gay characters rather than horror with gay themes, barring the occasional story like Gaytown and Numbers. Which was fine with me, that's what I wanted out of this collection honestly, a mix of both of those things.
Heed the triggers for this collection though and be warned a lot of them aren't handled well. I would particularly skip Digging Up Graves, On Being a Fetish, Want, Veggie Mountain, and Oh Yes, My Eyes.
The standouts for me were Bugcrush, Polyphemus' Cave, Night of the Werepuss (although it was more of a horror comedy), Numbers, Till Human Voices Wake Us, and One of the Boys.
More In Depth Triggers
Since this features a wide variety of stories and people are able to skip stories that could trigger them or simply don't interest them, here is a more detailed list of triggers by story. Homophobia is generally present in most stories.
Bugcrush - rape, characters are drugged, and insects
Polyphemus' Cave - rape and incest
Dead in the Water - use of alcohol
Delicious Monster - none that I remember from skimming through
Gaytown - Not sure how to phrase it but characters are pressured by a partner to come out of the closet, use of alcohol, transmisogyny
Digging Up Graves - mentions of slavery, racism, assault
artGod - none that I remember from skimming through
Black Shapes in a Darkened Room - Racism
Night of the Werepuss - There is a scene where a lesbian and a man almost sleep together
On Being a Fetish - necrophilia
I Stand Alone - none that I remember from skimming through
Numbers - none that I remember from skimming through
Want - racism, a character is drugged, assault, suicide
Oh Yes, My Eyes - self harm
One of the Boys - rape, a gay character is forced to sleep with a woman
Till Human Voices Wake Us - mentions of child death
Slice - none that I can remember skimming through
Veggie Mountain - ableism, mentions of necrophilia
Exit Wound - self harm, suicide
Freshets - none that I remember skimming through, although it is a very sexual story
Bayou de la Mere - religion
The Narrow World - rape, racism, ableism

5 QBs expected to be NFL game-changers
Tumblr media
The 2024 NFL Draft has a lot of teams in need of a franchise quarterback. Let’s start with the obvious. It’s just about a foregone conclusion that the Chicago Bears, after giving up and trading away Justin Fields to the Pittsburgh Steelers, will take Caleb Williams with the No. 1 overall pick.  Unless some foreseen incident takes place, Williams is a virtual lock to be drafted by the Bears. The rest of the draft order, especially in the first round, is up in the air. When you look at the draft order and the number of teams thirsty for the next great signal-caller, there could be as many as seven quarterbacks taken on the first day.
Tumblr media
USC quarterback Caleb Williams (13) goes back to pass against Nevada in the Trojans' 66-14 win on Sept. 2, 2023. Photo by Melinda Meijer/News4usonline Think about it. Chicago, Washington, New England, Minnesota, Denver, and Las Vegas have holes to be filled at the quarterback position. Teams like the Rams and New York Jets, with Aaron Rodgers and Matthew Stafford entering their twilight years, could also be in the hunt for a quarterback.  The Rams have the No. 19 overall pick in the first round. Even though the team went out and signed veteran Jimmy Garappolo this offseason to back up Stafford. The signing of Garappolo could be a stopgap between the present and future for Sean McVay’s team. The rest of the first round is going to be wild.  Right now there is a lot of speculation and predictions about what quarterback will go where. There is nothing really predictable about the draft. Picking quarterbacks ahead of the NFL's biggest weekend outside of the Super Bowl is a lot like picking the lottery. It’s a guessing game.  When it comes to the quarterback in this year’s draft, there are lots of quality players lined up at the position. Just like picking a winning lottery ticket, we’re going pick our Top 5 quarterbacks in this year’s class who figure to have an immediate impact in their rookie seasons.

Washington Huskies quarterback Michael Penix Jr. (9) goes back to pass against the defense of the Oregon Ducks in the Pac-12 Conference Championship. Photo credit: Melinda Meijer/News4usonline Michael Penix Jr. University of Washington  People slept on Michael Penix Jr. up until the national title game. To a degree, they are still sleeping on him. While other quarterbacks have enjoyed more notoriety, Penix proved to the doubters and haters he is that dude you want running your franchise.  During the 2022 season, Penix completed 65 percent of his passes for 4,651 yards and 31 touchdowns. He followed up that campaign with an even better 2023 season, passing for 4,903 yards and 36 passes, while also completing 65 percent of his passes.  Numbers are nice, but Penix is a big-time thrower. He can find a seam in the middle of a needle. Wherever he goes, the 2023 Heisman Trophy runner-up will show his pro team that he was well worth the draft capital.  Caleb Williams University of Southern California  The best way to describe Caleb Willams and what he does on the football field would be like trying to figure out how Harry Houdini did his magic tricks. You see him. Then you don’t. When defenders thought they had Williams bottled up for a sack the next thing you know, he’s galloping down the field.   Making defenders miss became routine for Williams at the college level. So much so that his elusiveness helped him win the Heisman Trophy in his first season as a Trojan. Williams was a good quarterback at the University of Oklahoma, where he started his collegiate career.  He became a great quarterback and a can’t-miss NFL draft prospect while playing under Lincoln Riley at the University of Southern California. For teams (Chicago) looking for passing accuracy and playmaking abilities, Williams has all the tools. Hopefully, for Chicago fans, all the excitement and hype surrounding Williams will translate into more wins than losses.
Tumblr media
Oregon Ducks quarterback Bo Nix passed for 239 yards and three touchdowns in a 34-31 loss to the Washington Huskies in the 2023 Pac-12 Conference Championship. Photo credit: Melinda Meijer/News4usonline Jayden Daniels LSU  Jayden Daniels is the real deal. Believe it or not, Daniels had a completed passing percentage of 72 percent during the 2023 college football season. That kind of pinpoint accuracy resulted in Daniels passing for 40 touchdowns against just four interceptions, while he torched opponents for 3,812 yards through the air.  Oh, yeah. I almost forgot to mention the other part of his game that makes Daniel lethal at the quarterback position.  Aside from bombarding defenses with his aerial attack, Daniels is also a game-breaker on the ground. Daniels rushed for 1,134 yards and 10 scores during his Heisman Trophy-winning season.  That’s 50 touchdowns and 4,976 yards in total offense. That’s mind-boggling.  Now Daniels will take his dual-threat abilities to the next level where expectations are going to be high for him to turn into this juggernaut play. That may come, but he wll have to adapt to the ways of the NFL. Or it just might be the other way around.   Bo Nix University of Oregon  Believe it or not, Bo Nix proved to be more efficient throwing the football than Penix, Williams, and Daniels. During his outstanding 2023 season, Nix threw or 4,508 yards and 45 touchdowns compared to having only three passed picked off. Now that is just plain next-level stuff.  Something must be in the water in Oregon. A few years back, Justin Herbert came through the Ducks’ quarterback pipeline. All Herbert has done is rewrite multiple NFL records during his brief career. While he is not as tall as Herbert, Nix possesses some of the attributes of the Los Angeles Chargers quarterback.  He’s big, physical, and fast. And we know Nix can throw the ball. With the right team and the right coach, Nix can be a franchise changer.   Jordan Travis Florida State University  Before he went down with a devastating leg injury against North Alabama last season, Jordan Travis was having a spectacular senior year. That injury cost Travis in a big way. Up until that injury, Travis was knee-deep in the Heisman Trophy conversation and looked to be a high draft pick in this year’s draft.      Before his season and collegiate career ended, Travis had completed 63 percent of his passes, good enough for 2,756 yards and 20 touchdowns through the air. Without question, the injury flipped the trajectory of where Travis would be selected. A deep quarterback class would have been deeper if Travis was at 100 percent. Without question, Travis would have been a first day or second day pick. He could still be a player project for a team patient enough for him to learn the NFL game on the bench. But if he gets a chance to do his thing, Travis will show everyone he has enough game to be a difference-maker. My ranking of the “Halloween” franchise
I’m sure you’ll disagree…
1: “Halloween” (1978)
The OG has to be number one. This movie is one horror movie that still puts me on edge every time I watch the scenes with Michael and Laurie.
2: “Halloween III: Season of the Witch”
Hear me out. I really love the idea of the franchise going the anthology route. If “Halloween II” hadn’t been forced into production, we wouldn’t be having this discussion.
3: “Halloween” (2018)
A legacy sequel the franchise deserved. Back to Michael just being a killer who stalks without any motive or intent is what made the original scary.
4: Rob Zombie’s “Halloween”
Unpopular opinion, but I really like how he made this his own. I know there’s some unnecessary Zombie dialogue and gore, but it was rather enjoyable for what was presented.
5: “Halloween II” (1981)
If any movie made me afraid of hospitals, it’s this movie here. Especially, as a patient being stalked by an unstoppable killer. You’re basically being medically captive and incapacitated.
6: “Halloween H20: Twenty Years Later”
The first attempt of the franchise having a “legacy sequel”. I love grown-up Laurie, but the fact that Michael found his way to California from Illinois is kind of hard to believe. Also, the “Scream” influences here just made this movie feel unnecessary.
7: “Halloween Kills”
I’m sorry, but there’s no way that one inmate could have been mistaken for Michael with or without a mask. This movie made me question whether Michael was the villain or the “evil dies tonight” chanting mob were the villains.
8: ”Halloween Ends”
While an enjoyable entry, as with most of the movies, this movie ruined a good premise. The theme of the movie is “evil is contagious”. While Michael was destined to die in this movie, the idea of him grooming Corey to continue his killing would have been a great way to move the franchise forward. Have Michael take the blame, have Corey survive. That would have been a better movie.
9: “Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers”
Yes, I know, this is a fan favorite and should be much higher. It loses positions because of the ending to ”Halloween II” not really being noted. There’s no explanation as to how Michael survived or how he was apprehended, or how the hell did Loomis survive? Is he also immortal. The rest of the movie is an extremely enjoyable “Halloween” fan service experience.
10: “Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers”
This probably should be much lower, but it and 4 seem to blend together for me. Forever, I could never tell you which one was which. I could have sworn Jamie was mute the entire time.
11: “Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers”
I could have put this much higher, because I really love the look and feel of this movie and Michael. Of course, the plot is just nonsense, though. Couldn’t Jamie have been saved much sooner had she lived with this Strode family? Why even write them in there? Why couldn’t they have been just a random family living in the Myers house? I love the whole Thorn curse and idea. I really do, but had it been introduced and explained beginning with 4, it probably would have worked. I’d love to see a continuation of this timeline.
12: Rob Zombie’s “Halloween II”
Do I even need to explain what’s wrong with this movie? Rob Zombie could probably explain it better.
13. “Halloween Resurrection”
The opening of this movie is amazing. That’s an unpopular opinion, but aside from the retconning of H20’s ending, I enjoyed the opening of this movie. Had the entire movie been the opening, and be similar to ”Halloween II” (especially given it has the same director), I would have loved this movie. Nope! Jamie Lee wanted nothing to do with this piece of garbage, so we got what felt like one of those tacked-on movies with Michael Myers just added to make it a “Halloween” movie.
