Been thinking about this a lot lately and I want to defend Matt Stone (who is Jewish, Kyle is him and Stan is Trey) and Trey Parker a little bit. They weren't the only people doing "edgy" comedy around the turn of the century. Many of us were guilty of assuming that the progressive social gains we'd made were here to stay and that we'd continue, as a society, to be less bigoted and more accepting. Most of us assumed (and some of those creators intended) that we were supposed to laugh at a character being so NUTRAGEOUS as to be openly racist/homophobic/sexist etc. rather than the bigoted behaviour/joke itself.

Nobody foresaw in 1998, 2001, 2003 what was going to happen in 2016. I was going to say "nobody could have foreseen", but maybe we should. Maybe we should have known the youth always want to rebel, and if progressive liberalism is the status quo, they'll gravitate towards content that's taboo. I do agree it should be studied. But it's also worth remembering that the capitalists who are ruining the planet have an interest in turning us against each other. Under a different economic system and without looming environmental collapse, edgy comedy might not act as a gateway for sincerely held bigoted beliefs.

Reese’s Peanut Butter Candy Takes

Reese’s peanut butter cups are my favorite candy so one day at my local WaWa I bought every variety I could find to rate them because I’m adult who like candy and rating stuff.

Caveat for the rankings: I have a huge sweet tooth and love caramel only second most to peanut butter in candy. A lot of these contain caramel.

Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups- The immaculate OG. 9/10 only to give the scale a little bit of room. 10/10 for real;

The BEST candy.

Olympic Medals- A “holiday” treat like the egg/tree/pumpkin. The holiday ones always hit the spot with the extra peanut butter and thinner chocolate. The Holy Grail of candy. 11/10

Outrageous- Reeses pieces made this, without them I think it’d be too sticky/carmelly. It brought back the peanut butter taste to the forefront, allowing for a good caramel peanut butter ratio. 8.5/10

Crispy Crunch- has a lot in common with the outrageous in terms of overall texture, but I don’t love nuts. And not really its fault but it got melty, :( 5.5/10

Nutrageous- Like the Outrageous but with full peanuts: bad. 2.5/10

Jumbo- Sure is jumbo… Keeps the original peanut butter + chocolate ratio. Kind of wanted to stop half way through. 4.5/10 extra .5 for the nice criss cross pattern on the bottom

Caramel big cup- Thick boys. Ratio of caramel to peanut butter is 50/50. Soft caramel. Enjoy the taste but can’t eat too much of it, which is saying something when it’s me. 6/10

Sticks- I’ve always enjoyed eating waffers one layer at a time instead of a normal person and the sticks are good for it. Gives a little change up to Reese’s candy, actually feels like it’s fulfilling a new niche, unlike some of the other options. 9/10

Reese’s pieces- Speaking of niches Reese’s pieces are yummy but are even better as toppings than they are as snacking candy, and I prefer the minis as toppings. I don’t love candy coatings. 6.5/10

Take 5- The most stuff candy bar…. I love it. 8/10

Resse’s cup with Reese’s pieces- Good not great. An extra little treat 6/10

Mini Cups- Good, sometimes really hits the spot. Best when chopped up and used as a topping. 8/10
