The brothers and the Human Realm

a/n: so ik ‘jealous much’ won the poll but it’s still not done yet so have this instead!

context: a part of me still finds lessons 40-43 funny because the brothers have never really been to the human world that much, and they don’t really know how certain things work. Take the slow cooker and ice cream truck for example. So these are little headcanons I have for when all of y’all are together in the beginning of their stay in the human realm.

Solomon and MC would so fuck with the brothers while being in the human realm.

For example they’d take Lucifer to the shadiest mexican restaurant possible then after they finished eating they would tell the waiters it was Lucifer’s birthday and watch the Avatar of Pride sit there with a big ass sombrero on his head as they sang happy birthday to him.

MC later took a picture and sent it to Diavolo who then made it his lock screen.

Satan and Belphie tried to electrocute Lucifer by throwing a toaster in the bathroom while he was in the middle of a shower. This happened after the fact you told them not to put water on the toaster because it could electrocute someone. 

Beel ate an entire bottle of ibuprofen liquid gels because he thought they were hard gummies.

Beel also ate the food and cake shaped wax candle melts you had bought for Asmo as a gift

Beel lastly ate your whole brand new container of melatonin and it knocked him out for 15 hours straight. Needless to say Lucifer was very concerned for his wellbeing, and Belphie soon questioned if you had anymore.

Belphie and his brothers were never taught stranger danger, because who in their right mind would be a danger to them in the Devildom?

So after you had explained to him what an ice cream truck was he vowed to go to one with you.

However when a creepy old man in a white van offers him candy he believes it to be the same as the ice cream truck so he gets in the van.

When the brothers relay this information to you, you begin to lose your shit explaining how that was not in fact an ice cream truck he got into but instead a kidnapper van.

The brothers don’t know how to eat certain human world foods.

Such as a banana, watermelon, mango, pineapple, kiwi, avocado, cherry, dragon fruit, papaya, onion, etc.

So when you first buy one from the grocery store and leave it out before cutting it they automatically think it’s some weird shaped human food and bite into it eating the skin or seeds and all.

After they tell you about the weird but delicious taste of it you ask if they cut it or spit out the seeds before eating it, and when they reply with a puzzled look and a no your heart drops.

Thank god they’re demons. You then proceed to buy the same thing again this time cutting it up in front of them so they know what parts to eat of certain things.

Expanding on the cherry part, did y’all’s parents ever tell you not to swallow watermelon or cherry seeds because if you did a cherry tree or whole watermelon would then grow in your stomach??

I know mine and some of my friends parents would tell us that when I was younger to make sure we didn’t swallow any seeds.

If they didn’t then oh well, anyway…

Continuing with Solomon being an ass, he would so tell something like that to the brothers. If he happened to see Beel swallow a cherry whole he would then proceeded to tell Lucifer not to let him do that.

And when the oldest asks why Solomon would then go onto explain that if he swallows cherry pit then a cherry tree will then grow inside his stomach.

Of course this freaked out Lucifer so for the next hour he tried getting Beel to spit out all the cherries he ate.

You would have to organize their fridge and pantry in the new house because they don’t know which human world foods need to be refrigerated or not.

After you arrive at the house you spent a good three hours explaining to them not everything can go in the pantry because some of it will spoil after you open it.

Then you proceed to gag when you pulled out an expired chunky milk container from the pantry.

They find the concept of drive thru or fast food places astonishing. The fact that you can just order wait in a line for a few minutes in your car then get your food is crazy. They do however all panic though when you get to the front and they don’t know what to order off the menu.

Car washes are also something they found themselves favoring. You would turn up the music as you slowly pulled in and joked by telling the brothers you were going on a ride of sorts.

Which in turn shocked you when they did believed you as the car wash stared. Each of them were staring out the windows with starry eyes as different colors of soap were thrown on your car.

You laughed to yourself as they all admired the way the soap blended together, Asmo and Mammon found themselves taking pictures of the whole thing. While Belphie was telling Beel how this looked like a starry sky.

And Levi went on to tell Satan how this reminded him of an anime scene. Lucifer also found himself sitting quietly in the passenger seat enjoying it too. (Lucifer is a certified passenger princess, fight me on that)

Each brother questioned you on how this was possible and you replied with smile. After the car wash was over and you drove through the dryers they all asked if you could do that again, to which you replied smiling “maybe some other time”.

Lucifer watered the fake succulents and plants you put around the house for two weeks straight until you said something.

They love watching true crime documentary’s to the point you’d have to physically pull them away from the tv.

It happened one afternoon while a few of them were relaxing in the living room and you were looking for a channel to watch.

Deciding there was nothing interesting on you put on an old true crime documentary and began watching it. As the brothers heard the story of the crime from the tv they each became immersed in it.

Telling you things such as “how could humans do that to each other?” or “wow humans are more brutal than we thought” or even adding in their own comments on how they could have made the crime worse.

It became a guessing game between all of them to figure out who killed who during each episode you watched.

Much to everyone dismayed Satan was the one who won every time.

Meanwhile while they were all immersed in the tv you noticed Lucifer standing behind you, arms crossed also watching tv. You told him to sit down and watch with all of you but he denied, claiming he wasn’t really interested in stuff like this anyway.

Yet he never moved from that same spot each episode.

Each of the brothers have made something explode in the microwave.

Lucifer stained it red when he went to reheat pasta, but he put it in for to long and it exploded. Mammon overfilled his ramen thus causing it to leak then explode.

Satan and Levi also happened to be reheating takeout at the same time, but both of the containers were styrofoam and exploded. Levi got annoyed and Satan threw the microwave at Lucifer.

Asmo put some skincare product in there because he found something online about a certain hack, and it exploded causing the microwave to smell like burnt strawberries.

Beel put too much food in the microwave causing it to all melt together then explode.

Belphie put a coffee in there to reheat and it exploded, but he was too lazy to clean it up so he just left it. Lucifer was then next to use the microwave and got coffee all over him.

You made all seven of them watch the entire twilight series as a joke but ironically they all actually enjoyed it.

Satan even went out and bought the books, and finished all of them in about 2 hours

Bonus

Solomon distracted Diavolo for 3 hours straight by making him watch 5 minute craft videos.

Diavolo then proceeded to break things to try these said crafts which caused Barbatos to have a meltdown.

Barbatos destroyed an entire sidewalk because he saw two rats run across it into the sewer.

Solomon and MC can be considered human?

Today I read a fic about MC facing the brothers after their death, and the author mentioned something about MC's "humanity" that gave me thousands of ideas. This is mostly just to get it out of my head and of course it's completely open for debate.

WARNINGS: Overthinking of an otome game lol, spoilers and remember that English is not my mother tongue so sorry for any mistakes. [Grammar and pronouns, I tried to check it well, but if you find an error, let me know]

Basically we will start by describing what a human being is in the most traditional sense of the word.

Whether created by god or through evolution, the human being is characterized by their reasoning and symbolic behavior. In addition to their short life cycle compared to other characters in OM.

Basically the human being is a mortal individual who is not at all related to magical realities but can believe in them.

But we have MC, a human whose life was normal until they stepped on the Devildom. Who finds out that they are a descendant of an angel, that they have pacts with the most powerful demons, is a friend of the prince of hell and of different angels. That, don't forget, died and came back to life in a relatively short time and, ALSO, it is believed that the stability of the human world and the rest of the realms is in the MC. Yes, quite normal for a human, right?

On the other hand we have Solomon who is a literally immortal guy, a very powerful sorcerer who has pacts with 72 demons.

AND THEN, presumably, we have Simeon, a former angel who lost his powers and has therefore become human.

So... we have three VERY different definitions of what a human being is. And let's remember that in fact, we can't rely on a human being an individual who was born in the human realm because there are magical creatures that exist there and they are not considered human.

So could Solomon and especially MC be considered human? I believe that they were human but at this point in the game and in the personal stories they could not be considered as such.

That is to say, the characteristics such as symbolic behavior and reasoning, among other things can be found in the characters, however there is a characteristic that is different. The mortality.

Suppose that for the world of Obey Me the key factor of humanity is mortality but Solomon no longer fulfills this characteristic but MC does. So, Solomon could not be considered a human due to his immortality but he is still presented as such.

So my question is what would be considered a human being in Obey me? Bearing in mind that both Solomon and MC are the only ones who were born in the human realm and that Simeon supposedly becomes human after losing his powers.

Could Solomon and MC really consider themselves human?

Because by having contact with other magical realities they lose the only thing that probably makes them human, the complete ignorance of the existence of these realities.

So, are they really human?

Our Greatest Hope | Obey Me Short Story

There has never been a being like your son. Half human, half demon, with angel blood. What will he become? Can you lead a child with such power and influence down the right path, will he be like his father or will his human side make him vulnerable?

“I’ll never let harm come to you. The world will be yours my dearest son. You are our greatest hope. Surely a child born of three worlds will be the one to unite them.” The promise left Diavolo’s lips as he held your pregnant stomach, head resting against it.

True to his word, your son would have everything he could ever need.

At first, it was scary. Diavolo’s mother had died giving birth, even with all their magic and advanced technology, giving birth was still dangerous. The one who gave birth to the devil’s son would always come across some misfortune during pregnancy or labor, whether it be constant nausea or intense labor pain. You and Diavolo knew this and though he was more hesitant than you, you decided to bear his child.

Would his Human side hinder him or help him? Would he age just as quickly as a human, and die just as easily? Would his wings and horns be pronounced? Would the Devildom accept a Cambion with angel blood as their true leader?

So many worries plagued your mind but the instant you first saw your son, your worries melted and were replaced with love. Your son was different from the beginning. He did not cry or laugh when he was born, he was silent and his tiny squinting golden eyes were observant of everything.

Diavolo cradled both you and your son during your duration in the Demon Lord Castle’s medical wing. After a few weeks of observation you could return to your room with Diavolo and your child stayed in his crib near your side.

He was still quiet. He never cried in the middle of the night but sometimes when you went to check on him he’d be awake. Bright eyes looked around the room before locking onto you and reaching out his hands.

His silence worried you and Diavolo at first but after a while, he began trying to mimic your words and eventually, he learned to call for you through infantile shouts rather than crying.

After a few months, he cried for the first time. His horns were coming in. Unlike his father whose horns grew from the sides of his skull, his horns protruded from the top of his forehead and grew upwards, slightly arched back.

By a year his wings took form. He only had one pair, they were larger and black with a slight red coloring like his father’s. By a year and a half, he looked like a true demon. Appearing human and hiding his wings and horns was too much to ask of a small child so you hid them with magic whenever you visited the human world, friends, and family.

When he was two years old he became a big brother and his sister was nothing at all like him. She was loud, fussy, and demanded attention, and when she wanted something she cried, she could fake her tears after a few weeks.

Your son did not understand this behavior, he was confused and you often found him in his bed with a pillow over his head. He had the senses of a demon, so it was inevitable he’d hear his sister cry. You did not get much sleep during this time nor did your husband, Diavolo.

As soon as your son could crawl he was trying to follow his father to work. If Diavolo stopped walking, so did your son. He was his father’s shadow before he even knew this was his duty.

When he was old enough to understand Diavolo had a private talk with your son, explaining what was expected of him as the prince. Although he did not quite understand the gravity, your son knew he was important and that he needed to be like his dad. Thus, he became even more of Diavolo’s shadow.

His sister however did not follow in his footsteps, for this reason even though he was barely more than a toddler he became his sister’s keeper, and eventually his brothers’ too.

In a way, he saw his siblings as practice. He needed to be a good example and a good leader, but he was still a child. Even though he’d always been mature for his age, it was still easy to give into temptation and his sister was an excellent demon, convincing him to wait up for Santa, to sneak snacks from the kitchen, to stay up late, and more.

In some ways, it was a relief to see him act like a child but Barbatos became worried and attended to your son’s younger siblings more so that Diavolo could focus on bringing up his son.

Diavolo was an anxious mess during his son’s formative years. Was he doing this right? He didn’t have a father to turn to. He wasn’t sure if his father was so strict with him for his own sake or if he was resentful his wife had died to birth him. Was he supposed to be very strict with his son? He didn’t want to be neglectful but his son needed to grow on his own too. There were so many contradicting points when it came to being a good parent and a good king.

Your son was sometimes confused too. He knew his dad didn’t like to scold him but he knew his dad was worried he wasn’t doing things right.

Your son had been perceptive from the moment he was born. He knew more than you and Diavolo could have imagined and the older he became the more you understood this.

You never saw him study Latin but he knew the language fluently, you never told him about the brothers’ history but he knew it as well as you, there were so many things you discovered about him every day and as you did so he was learning something else.

You would never forget the horrified expression on your young son when his father showed him the most critical part of their job—to judge and punish souls. Why did a dog killer go to heaven and an orphanage director go to hell? Because of faith? Why was this fair? He was meant to be the opposing side to the person who created everything. He was at a disadvantage from the start. He was meant to be evil and govern all forms of it but your son was nothing like that.

He did not embody evil, he did not embrace evil, and he did love a prank or two but he never started them. He wasn’t chaotic like his father. Like his father he was considerate but like you, he was so very human.

Indeed the son of the demon king and the future ruler of hell had a human heart and a loving soul. A soul so pure he could ascend to the Celestial Realm. As happy as you were your son was a good person and yours and Diavolo’s parenting had shaped a humble prince and not an arrogant one, only time would tell if this human heart was fit to rule hell.

Thanks to your magic and your vows with Diavolo, you lived a very long time. Thousands upon thousands of years and Earth ended and began anew many times. Each time you, Diavolo, and your son worked hard to bring this new generation of humans to peace with your realm. It worked every time but as Revelations determined, evil rose and a faction of demon rebels would invade the earth. The angels and two humans would defeat them and the bridges would slowly be mended again and again.

Your son disliked this even more than Diavolo. He was done with human suffering, with demons being the blame, and with angels blaming all demons when only a few were responsible.

Thousands of years later when your son took the crown he would be the shining example of peace between the realms. A demon king with the blood of the three worlds, with him, his trusted siblings, leader of the Celestial Realm Seraphim Luke, and the many angels and sorcerers he’d befriended, one day the worlds would see eternal peace.

Those words his father spoke to him as he was still within your womb stayed with him long after you and Diavolo ascended to the Celestial Realm, “You are our greatest hope. Surely a child born of three worlds will be the one to unite them.”

Now nearly a million years old, your son looked at the portrait of you and Diavolo and smiled to himself as he held his own son in his arms. “You did well, you may rest now.” He said softly. His wife came up behind him, his young daughter squirming in her arms.

“Your sisters and brothers are here,” she let him know and he nodded. His daughter sprang free from her mother and clung to his leg. He smiled and held both her and his son as he descended the palace stairs to meet his family.

Nightbringer didn’t change why Lilith was punished in Lesson 12.

I keep seeing people misunderstand Lucifer’s explanation on Lilith. So I wanted to clarify some misconceptions I see being spread around.

In Obey Me Shall We Date we learn Lilith was punished for giving forbidden food from the Celestial Realm to save her sick human lover.

It’s also important to note that angels are prohibited from interfering in the lives of humans.

In Obey Me Nightbringer Lucifer explains,

“I told her she could never visit the human world again. I tried to convince her, but she wouldn’t listen to me. She said that someday the same thing would happen to me. I’d meet someone I loved so deeply that I’d be willing to throw away everything for them. And then I’d finally understand how she felt.”

This means Lilith has already used the forbidden food from the Celestial Realm to save the human she loved. Lilith knew she’d be punished for it but loved this human so much she was willing to throw away everything for him.

Lilith’s conversation with Lucifer, her interfering with the lives of humans, using forbidden Celestial Realm food and her views on humans angered Father.

Especially since they went directly against all that Angels and the Celestial Realm stood for.

Belphegor words it best,

“ . . . You see, Lilith loved humans. She loved humanity as a whole. She used to talk to me about them and how we underestimated them. You know angels and demons are always trying to protect humans, or guide them or whatever? Well, she said that was insulting to humans.”

All of this lead to the decision that Lilith would be given the Celestial Realm’s gravest form of punishment.

This punishment does match the description of the punishment mentioned in Obey Me Shall We Date.

Wiped from existence so that nothing was left. Meaning her existence in the Celestial Realm, Human World and Devildom. She’d lose her wings, be cast down into darkness and unable to be reborn. Forced to wander through the darkness for all eternity.

Lilith was already going to be punished for breaking the rules. The severity of the punishment though was because of Lilith’s love for humans.

This decision was something Lucifer couldn’t understand. Yes Lilith broke the rules but she did it out of love. A love so deep it paired with the brothers.

He believed love was something beautiful. Was the love Lilith felt really so wrong? This ended up leading Lucifer to questioning his Father.

My thoughts as I read through this text:

So you're telling me this man is so silly with charms that they thought Mammon did it! ITS SO FUCKING ADORABLE I-

Also the fact that it wasn't even a love charm. No it was a PROTECTIVE CHARM. An anonymous defensive charm to keep MC safe from curses.

He didn't even brag about it, no he totally forgot. As if looking after MC is just a habit now. It's just second nature.

God his love is so selfless and pure I'm going to cry-

A Surprise Visit

Author's Note: This is the official start of my season three rewrite. To quickly recap how I ended season two, MC basically convinces Solomon to live with them in their home instead of the two of them going their separate ways. That's number one. Number two is I'm axing the whole babysitter gig setup, because I feel like it's a bit unnecessary (and weird).

So, without further ado, the first part of lesson 41 is under the cut.

MC

Solomon looks over my shoulder and examines the potion I prepared in the cauldron.

"Nicely done," he remarks. "Just the right shade of blue."

"Thanks," I reply, quickly glancing up at him.

"You know, you've done a nice job keeping up with everything I've taught you. You're certainly one of my better apprentices." I chuckle.

"I mean, I would like to not destroy my home."

"Or any surrounding ones." I turn my full attention to him, confused as to why he would say that. He merely shrugs as he adds,

"It's happened before."

"I see." Should I be worried?

"Anyway, you almost have the fundamentals down. Pretty soon, you'll be able to get your Sorcerer's License, and I can begin teaching you summoning magic."

"I'm sure the brothers would appreciate that."

"Oh, probably. They like you alright." His smirk indicates that he wants to start bantering with me. He does it on a daily basis, and I've gotten pretty good at coming up with good responses on the fly.

Suddenly, someone knocks on my door.

"I'll get it," Solomon states, patting me on the shoulder and kissing me on the temple before leaving the room. I take the opportunity to begin pouring my potion--a serum that causes people to change size--into the bottles Solomon set up in front of me.

Just as I finish filling the first bottle, Solomon returns.

"It would seem as though the brothers got tired of waiting," he tells me.

"What do you mean?" I ask, setting the cauldron down.

"Surprise!" Asmo pops his head in the room and waves excitedly at me.

At least, I think it's Asmo. His hair's a lot longer than usual, and his choice of makeup makes him look rather feminine.

As he steps into full view and reveals his outfit--a spaghetti tanktop, a denim miniskirt that barely covers his crotch, and strappy high heels--I realize that he's in drag. And it looks good.

Has he done this before?

"You alright, MC?" Solomon asks, walking over and touching my shoulder.

"I'm sure they are," Asmo answers before I can open my mouth. "They're just in awe of my beauty."

"Just the same as always," Solomon quips, causing Asmo to stick his tongue out at him.

"What are you doing here?" The question comes out a lot more quietly than I was expecting. Maybe it's because I can't stop staring at Asmo. For once, he's right; I am in awe.

"Here in your home, or here in the human world?"

"B-Both, I guess." Asmo clasps his hands together.

"Well, after you left, Diavolo started making plans for us to come visit you in the human world. He and Lucifer bought a property nearby, and we've been working on making it our own for a few months. We just finished last week." He briefly pauses. "I've actually been sent to pick you up and take you over there. That is, if that's alright with your teacher over there." He smiles at Solomon, who nods his head.

"I think we've reached a good stopping point for today," he replies, glancing over at me.

"Great! I'll help you pack." Huh?

"Asmo!" I call out before he can go too far.

"Yes, MC?" He bats his eyes at me, and I have to force myself to focus.

"As much as I appreciate the enthusiasm, I can't spend the night. I have to work tomorrow." Asmo stares at me blankly. "You know...the job that helps me pay my bills?"

"Oh right! You don't have to worry about that for a while." That can't mean what I think it means.

"Asmo...what did you do?"

"I didn't do anything. It was all Diavolo." He didn't...

"MC isn't like you guys," Solomon pipes up. "They rely on their job to make ends meet. It's not like they can just leave at will." This makes Asmo widen his eyes.

"No, no, no! It's not like that at all!" he exclaims. "MC, you still have your job. Diavolo just arranged for you to be on vacation until we returned to the Devildom." He walks over and clasps my hands. "I am so sorry for worrying you like that, MC." I sigh.

"That only covers part of it. What about--"

"Check your bank account."

"What?"

"I got it," Solomon states, leaving the room and returning with my laptop. Once he pulls up my online account, he shows the screen to me, revealing...

"Is that four zeros?"

"It appears so, yes." He clicks on the checking account to view transaction details. "It looks like Diavolo's been transferring money to your account. At least, I assume that's who 'David Prince' is." Asmo nods his head.

"We thought it best to adopt human alias while we were here." Well, that explains the drag. "I decided to go with Azzy."

"The name suits you," I tell him, still staring at the screen.

I can't believe that Diavolo went out of his way to do something like this for me. It's not like I've ever expected him to provide for me or anything.

"So, am I good to start packing?" Asmo asks.

"Sure." I make sure to follow him as he enters my room. If I leave him unsupervised, there's no telling what he'd do in there.

Obey me lesson 12 thoughts and Solomon

Spoilers ahead for Nightbringer and S2 of ObeyMe

At first I thought maybe the curse originally was going to be forced to keep a promise, like most people. I thought about it and it made very little sense given the music and how Thirteen reacted.

So we get comatose, which makes more sense in context with the music. Actually wait no, we’re literally on the verge of death before we’re taken to the HoL where Simeon casts a spell on us and prevents us from dying. Side boys saving our lives <3

But the thing I wanna really talk about is the implications this has for lesson 11. Since we were kinda going off of the assumption that all promises were bounding we assumed Solomon wanted us to make that promise to stop us from siding against humanity. He said he didn’t remember the rule but we all kinda brushed it off as him lying. But since we now know that the making a promise would’ve killed MC, and thus anyone who makes one, Im inclined to believe Solomon when he said he forgot.

MC’s powers are still working to prevent the traps from being deadly because Mammon is turned into a Lil D when he breaks one, like in S2. So if MC’s powers were protecting themselves even slightly, I shudder to think what would’ve happened otherwise. Probably an instant death if I had to guess.

So with all of this, I believe Solomon truly did forget. He’s having a hard time remembering things from this time. Things were crazy at that moment and it could’ve just as easily slipped his mind. I also think he’s being honest when he says he doesn’t remember why Barbatos hates him, as he insists on it many times. That may be me being naive but I do believe he was telling the truth.

Solomon wouldn’t kill MC. No matter how much of a threat they are to the human realm.

In S2 when our powers were out of control and going to destroy all 3 realms Solomon says he was willing to stab Lucifer originally to protect the human realm but since that would upset MC so he wasn’t going to do it.

He puts MC’s feelings over the safety of not just the human realm, but every realm.

The option of killing you doesn’t come up. He’s not even considering it. You even have the dialogue option when he asks what to do to say something along the lines of “Guess we’ll die” and Solomon’s like “Yeah guess we will”

When I tell you S2 is where I fell in love with this man this is what I mean.

Alls this to say, he wouldn’t risk MC’s life for the safety of the human realm. And with the context of S2 it seems almost obvious. Man is down bad, and while he’d love for you to share his values he wouldn’t kill you or endanger your life if you didn’t.

Flowers for a Devil

Because Asmo didn't get an official birthday event story this year, which we think is pretty unfair as the last in the brothers' cycle, we made our own birthday story and art 😤

Asmodeus has always loved surrounding himself with flowers, but this year, he's gotten really into flower language. So as a surprise for his birthday, everyone decides to throw a flower-themed party, and they all get him different flowers that they thought would suit him!

SOLOMON

As Asmo insists on ringing in his birthday, Solomon finds himself dragged out clubbing the night before

But seeing as they would be out together, he figures it would be a perfect opportunity to give his pact-mate his gift right at midnight

He offers Asmo a narcissus, which earns him a little bit of an eye-roll, though he laughs it off

"Well, yes, it does mean egotism of course. But it also means 'stay sweet as you are.' Happy birthday, Asmodeus. Never change."

MAMMON

Mammon was dragged out the night before as well, though a bit more willingly, as part of Team Party People

Not quite having thought it through as much but not wanting to be outdone, he gives Asmo his flower as soon as they get home at the end of the night

His is a lovely little yellow flower, called a coreopsis

"It means 'always cheerful.' Because ya always try so hard to make everyone happy. We notice, ya know. Happy birthday, Asmo!"

BEELZEBUB

Initially, Beel had planned to wait to give his flower along with everyone else at the party, but by morning, the sweet scent of it has him worried

Not wanting to accidentally eat it during the day, he gives it to Asmo first thing at breakfast

The Avatar of Lust squeals with delight at the amethyst tones of the forget-me-not

"Happy birthday, Asmo. You're a great big brother to me and Belphie. So this is to show that I really admire you."

DIAVOLO

The young prince is so excited to give his gift that he actually gets to the party early

Once he arrives, he seeks out Asmo right away, grinning widely

He proudly hands the stalk of white delphinium blossoms to the lustful demon, and gets a smile almost just as big in return

"These are for you, Asmodeus. According to human realm traditions, these represent a happy nature. I hope you'll continue to share yours with the entire Devildom! Happy birthday!"

BARBATOS

The prince's butler, of course, comes not far behind his liege

He smiles politely at the birthday demon and hands forth the blossom he brought as well

Upon seeing the daylily in his hands, Asmo immediately takes the "coquetry" flower as license to flirt shamelessly with his fellow pact-holder

"Ah, please don't misunderstand, I'm afraid this doesn't mean I share your particular inclinations. But the meaning of it certainly reminded me of you. Happy birthday, Asmodeus."

THIRTEEN

Though she's not especially close with Asmodeus, she still decided to drop by the party

Not one to show up empty-handed, she makes sure to have a flower for him too

To be on the safe side, she chose an orchid, which he's certainly happy enough to receive

"Love and beauty is basically, like, your thing, right? So this is for you! Happy birthday!"

MEPHISTOPHELES

At Diavolo's enthusiastic invitation, Mephisto deigns to join the party and its theme

However, since he's not very fond of the brothers, he settles on gifting a sprig of candytuft to indicate his indifference

Asmodeus, however, is only familiar with its more positive meanings -- sweetness, joy, and beauty -- so he's perfectly pleased by the selection, to Mephisto's confusion

"Don't tell me you're happy about a gift like this? You lot truly are bizarre. Anyway, I'm told it's your birthday, so happy birthday."

SIMEON

Simeon is next to approach the Avatar of Lust, with both other angels following along behind

He presents the flower simply, but Asmo is immediately fascinated by the odd pink petals at its base

Having known him for a long time, Simeon thinks the lady's slipper and its meaning of capricious beauty sounded just right for his friend

"We actually wanted to get some Celestial Realm flowers for you, but we didn't get a chance to go back. Still, I thought this one would suit you well. Happy birthday!"

RAPHAEL

Raphael, having also known Asmodeus a long time but on slightly less friendly terms, is a bit more awkward about his gift as he approaches

Nonetheless, he smiles as he gives his flower, reiterating Simeon's apology for not being able to get one from the Celestial Realm

He doesn't mention the meaning of the anemone, letting his bittersweet feelings towards the former angel go unspoken -- a forsaken affection, new beginnings, and protection from evil

"Here, this is for you. I hope you like it. Happy birthday, Asmodeus."

LUKE

Luke is quivering a bit behind Simeon, though more out of shyness now than the fear he used to have towards the demon

He thrusts the stalk of little flowers forward, and yelps audibly when Asmo starts petting his head in thanks

Shouting once again that he is not a dog, he mentally reaffirms the lesser-known secondary meaning he found for the gifted white hyacinth -- "I'll pray for you"

"Um, I heard they used to call you the Jewel of the Heavens...so I got you this flower that represents loveliness. Happy birthday, Asmo!"

BELPHEGOR

Belphie is less inclined towards the outright partying, so he waits until Asmo pauses to get a drink to give his gift

He has his brattiest grin as he hands the flower over, and although Asmo rolls his eyes and tells him to stop it, he very clearly actually thinks it's cute of his youngest brother

Despite that, Belphegor had chosen the white hydrangea for him means togetherness and sincere feelings, perfect for family -- though, fittingly, it also represents vanity

"Here, a flower for the most narcissistic member of our family. Just kidding. Happy birthday, Asmo."

LEVI

Sensing his chance, Levi also takes the opportunity to present his flower to Asmo

He tries not to be too jealous of the beautiful bouquet that his brother has gathered, though the Avatar of Envy can't help but think he could never be popular enough to receive all that

But after all, his envy is equally driven by admiration, and the variegated tulip precisely represented things he admires about his brother -- his beautiful, charming eyes and his popularity and fame

"Happy birthday, Asmo! I heard about this flower from the anime I was watching last week, I Accidentally Ate A Poisonous Flower and Now I've Been Reincarnated As A Demonic Princess?!, and thought it sounded just like you. I hope you like it!"

SATAN

It's at this point that Satan realizes that almost everyone else has given their flower, and he's determined to at least beat Lucifer to it

He had studied books on flower meanings for a solid month trying to select the perfect one, and is confident he's chosen the perfect one to describe Asmo

Though the citron flower he gives means "ill-natured" beauty, he hands it over with begrudging affection, which his brother immediately teases him for

"Argh, this kind of thing is exactly why I chose this! But it does mean beauty as well, just like you. Happy birthday, Asmo."

LUCIFER

As the party winds down, Asmo has a pretty sizeable bouquet in hand, and he's excited to show it off to his eldest brother before they head home

As he does so, he looks expectantly at Lucifer, who just smirks, because of course he has a flower ready too

He gives Asmo an alyssum, which the younger brother is familiar with but looks at with some confusion -- worth beyond beauty?

"It means exactly what you think it does, yes. Remember that in this next year. Happy birthday, Asmo."

Solomon’s True Goals

*MAJOR SPOILERS*

Solomon is often called shady, conniving, evil, arrogant, and many more things. But what is he really? Depending on the day he can be any of those things, but what it all boils down to is somewhat of a grand plan.

Solomon wants humans to be recognized as equals to demons and angels. He won’t choose either side, he chooses himself and humanity and he’s seen in the original game and in Nightbringer forcing that decision on MC, continuously asking to fight by his side on behalf of humanity.

But what does that mean? While Solomon says he does not want to make enemies out of angels and demons, he would be willing to go so far as a war.

In nightbringer he clearly believes that in the unstable past, a war between the worlds will indeed happen and considering he’s already fought a war with the entire Devildom—entirely on his own and in his youth—he’s not afraid to do so again, if need be. He continues pushing the idea onto MC that the demons are the enemies right now.

Here’s some evidence below

It’s interesting that he specifies NOT NOW as in, it’s possible later, or he has some plans for that

The something he referring to is a grimoire. Something that essentially controls demons and forces submission. Despite Solomon saying this is how they negotiate with demons, it’s clear he sees that it isn’t possible and they’ll need to be subjugated instead.

Again he clearly mentions fighting for equality. The human world is not being threatened by angels or demons but Solomon seems willing to start a fight to be recognized as equals.

Despite always asking for a pact, Solomon sees no problem purposefully emotionally blackmailing and provoking Lucifer, still mentally recovering from the Great War.

Once Solomon sees you as an enemy, then he will not hold back, no matter who you are. This many include MC which is why he keeps asking for a clear answer as to whether or not they’ll side with humanity.

We see Solomon mention, hating being seen as weak. Not just himself, but all of humanity. Not only that we see that the reason he prefers not to make enemies and to live freely is because of a deal with “Him” we don’t know who that is but possibilities include Present Barbatos, Michael, or even God (considering he has dealings with the latter two in texts and scripture)

We’ll see how this progresses but we are beginning to see more of why he is seen the way he is by the brothers. He is always planning something, processing everything, and plotting his next move to get what he wants—Humans at the same level of demons and angels, no matter the cost
