G/t July: Melancholy

i was reading through some recent writing I've made and I realized this little short story fits perfectly with this last day's theme.

Introducing characters that I never talked about before, except for this post.

She closed her eyes and hugged his finger tight, the creases of his digits scratching against her cheeks. Lia looked up, and a shiver ran down her spine. Those massive eyes looked at her with confusion, yet fascination.

Not a single sign of recognition behind them.

Yet, he smiled.

"I still don't understand, why you're so affectionate towards me." His voice boomed from above, and she sucked in a breath. He continued. "We have met only a few days ago. Is that a human thing?"

Lia's reality sinked in further. The face of who was once called Cole looked down at her, amused, 'because to him, I'm just a creature' she thought, emptiness threatening to tear her apart. Their size difference felt more extreme than before, his breathing ruffled her hair, and his face, as large as a house, loomed above her. Her heartbeat accelerated. No, not that disgusting fear again, not with him.

The giant noticed something was wrong, since Lia unconsciously let go of his finger and backed away from him. He furrowed his brows and gently rested his pointer finger against her chest. Lia gasped and turned a shade redder, her heart hammering even harder as she felt his other hand supporting her back.

"Your heartbeat is so loud. You must still be scared of me." He whispered. Such a gentle voice. Lia's heart stirred as she remembered that was the same tone of voice he used when he rescued her at that night.

It felt like so many years ago.

He leaned down over the table, the sound of impossibly large and thick fabric shifting to accommodate his movements. Even though his arms gently leaned against the table, they still caused a tremor in Lia's perspective. He rested his head on top of them.

"Still, I can't blame you. That look on your face the first time I saw you still haunts me, sometimes."

There was so much Lia wanted to tell him. So much. But that was impossible now.

So she only looked deep into his eyes with a longing gaze.

"I feel like you have something to tell me, but you can't yet." The giant said. "I can't hear your voice either so, maybe it's that."

Lia nodded in affirmation, and he sighed.

"Well, I'm a patient person. I can wait." He smiled. A familiar sight.

Her heart ached. How much she wished that was the same smile from their time together. Before all of this happened. Before he forced her to let go of him.

And yet, an old habit still haven't left the one who used to be Cole: the habit of always giving her some ounce of hope.

"When you're ready to tell me, I'll be here to hear you. I promise."

Evan & Mitzi

1. What were their first impressions of one another?

evan and mitzi met as kids in school, they both used to be (well still are) two weird children - evan was a quiet nerd and mitzi was the Weird Girl who murdered her dolls and claimed to be a dragon. they bonded together over their passion for animals and particularly for bugs. evan definitely saw mitzi as annoying and nosy but also kinda cool, while mitzi was fascinated by evan's extensive knowledge of animal facts (some made up)

14. How would they describe one another if asked?

Evan would say that Mitzi is a stupid idiot horny lesbian dressed like a clown and Mitzi would say that Evan is the deviantart oc of an edgy goth weeb 12yo

36. How long have they been friends? Would they consider each other best friends?

they are best friends! and as i said, they've been friends since they were 6 or 7yo

Lia & Cristina

disclaimer: cristina and lia aren't proper girlfriends anymore, they have an on and off relationship but with no commitment

2 .What was their first date like? If they haven’t been on a date yet, how would it go?

they went rollerskating and cristina was absolutely shit

7. What do they argue about?

they often argue about how accurate it is to call daylight vampires "vampires"- cristina (classic vampire) says they're not vampire vampires since they don't feed on blood and aren't harmed by the sunligh and lia (daylight vampire) says they're still biologically in the same Family of species and hence are still vampires

35. What moment did they realise that they were in love?

they are not really in love but there is a deep feeling going on. I haven't really thought about it much tbh!

Alecto & Rayiin

9. What’s the most difficult thing they’ve been through together?

I haven't thought about a full story for them tbh, but I can say that they went through some hardship when a traumatic event from Rayiin's past started affecting them again and Rayiin started suffering again from anxiety, depressive episodes and panic attacks. Alecto learnt how to deal with it and though rayiin gets in weird moods sometimes, she now knows how to help them now

13. What would they say each other’s best quality is?

to Alecto, Rayiin's best quality is how sweet they are, which is something she struggled a lot with admitting she liked at first. to Rayiin, Alecto's best quality is how strong and confident she is

33. Who was the first to say ‘I love you’?

rayiin was the first to declare their feelings but alecto initially rejected them. after their relationship became romantic, rayiin tried their best to not say they loved her, to avoid putting too much pressure on her, since she stated she wanted to take things slowly (alecto isn't good with romanticism and feelings). ultimately it was her to actually say "I love you" first

OC-tober Day 6: Symbol

for this one I'm going to show you the symbol (or at least the beta version of a symbol) for one of Dualiti's religions, the Magus Pantheon!

INFO UNDER CUT

There are a lot of religions in Dualiti, and things sort of go off of Terry Pratchett Small Gods rules, where as long as something has enough people believing in it, it's a god. so there are a bunch of gods running around of various sizes. the ones that are the most prominent, though, are the ones in the Magus Pantheon. this includes, from left to right,

Noctis, God of Darkness,

Sol, God of Light,

Enis, God of Humanity,

and Lia, God of Knowledge.

their dimension is where magic comes into Dualiti's world from, and the symbol above is an attempted representation of it. each god has their own domain within this dimension, starting from the oldest outside to the youngest in the middle. they don't really interfere with humanity directly, or at least they shouldn't. a lot of trouble has come in the past from gods meddling in the affairs of humanity.

Honestly surprised it was so easy convincing Rolan to go back to the inn in act 2, fully prepared myself for a scrap but thankfully got to him alive.

I had a right game trying to track Rolan down so I just know my Tav was ready to carry him the whole way back to make sure he made it back in one piece might draw that next lmao
