OceanBerry/Chucky TL AU Idea: After a while of being with the Rays + John (Buddy would be 10 years old at this point), John trusts Eddie enough since they've been good friends for a while at this point, he performs a Soulmancy Familiar Spell (yes I replaced the Voodoo in the franchise with something new I call Soulmancy) that basically gave back Eddie a human form, but at the cost of being a Werecat (which works very similarly to how a Witch's Familiar works)

He can now turn from his usual cat form into this (hairy af) Human Form, a Halfway Form/"Beast" Mode, and an actual giant Werecat Form!

He can only be in his fully human form for a couple of months at a time before needing to go back to his cat form (and still shows off cat-like features even in his human form, such as slit pupils and more hair everywhere)!

How would your versions of Glen and Glenda react to the series Chucky and Tiffany? 👀

Hope you don't mind if I answered this as if the twins were watching the series for themselves!

Glen: Would've legit cried watching Season 3 cuz the aspect of his Dad growing and dying in his doll form cuz even the thought of losing his Dad (who, despite their differences, Glen see as a protector, a rock, a shoulder to lean on, and someone he could talk to if he felt scared or anxious), would've had to get a hug and reassurance from Chucky, even after seeing the season end on a good note for Chucky!

Seeing his mom act the way she did throughout the entire series would've given him very mixed feelings, he would've felt that Tiffany doing what she did to Nica in the series and the way she acted towards them in the series was in his words

"A bastardization of someone who, yes has flaws and does... Horrible things, would not have had interest in someone else other than my dad, let alone keep a woman hostage for herself"!

Glenda: She would've HATED the series version of her Mom, she feels they made her way too selfish, self absorbed, and too greedy at that, would've hated how Tiffany's actions affected the series version of her and her brother

Also would've hated how her series version of herself just didn't believe or even listen to a word her Dad said and just left him behind, since she saw the series version of Tiffany as worse, she actually felt bad that Series!Tiffany had ruined her relationship with her Dad in the series!

She would've had to have a Father/Daughter Snuggle with her Dad Chucky after that lol

She only forgives Series!Tiffany after Chiffany became canon again in the Season 3 Finale!

(Disclaimer for this post: this is based on the father/daughter-like dynamic that has shown up as of the third episode of Season 3, so I thought I would just incorporate it into my fanon/my personal Child's Play TL)

But to sum things up: I'm creating the headcanon that at some point in the timeline, The Rays take in and eventually adopt Lexy and Caroline!

I'm thinking that when Lexy and Caroline would've been the ages they were in the second season (Lexy being 15 and Caroline being 7), when basically the new Tiffany in Prison storyline for season three would've happened to their mom instead (basically she killed their dad in during an argument/fight and she's in prison now)

Since Chucky and Caroline were already pretty good friends before everything happened, it didn't take long for them to develop a deep bond and for Caroline to start calling him Dad by the first year or so of living with them. It took Lexy MUCH longer for her to even consider Chucky and Tiffany as her new parents (she started when she turned 18)

As you probably predicted, I'm choosing to talk about my OceanBerry AU (aka my Chucky AU/Retelling of the Chucky TL)!

1. You remember the three human friends that Chucky is buddies with that I've talked about in this post long ago?

Well I FINALLY have found some live action faceclaims for them!! (Please don't take the IRL ages of these actors into account since I only need them to demonstrate appearance)

Here they are!

Don Rivers: Bruce Willis (as David Dunn in Glass)

Zach Galifianakis: Jerry Hickens (as Ethan Chase in Due Date) (and w only a bushy mustache)

Blake Anderson: Bob Berkeley (as Blake in Workaholics)

2. I have also found live action faceclaims for Glen's boyfriend Kahuna and Glenda's girlfriend Natalie (OCs of mine) as well!

And same as the first time, real ages of the actors does not factor in choosing them as a faceclaim, only appearance is!

Kahuna Mahelona: Jason Scott Lee (as Mowgli in Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book (1994) (add on hair/bangs that covers his eyes + slightly more muscular)

Natalie Winchester: Kim Director (as Kim Diamond in Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2) (have hair dye at the ends of her hair instead of being streaks in her hair)

3. Chucky and Eddie are in the midst of attempting to reconcile and reestablish their adoptive brotherhood (since before the Big Incident in 1988, Chucky and Eddie regarded each other as brothers)

They still have a LOT of sour feelings on each other's ends for their own respective reasons (Chucky for being abandoned when he needed his little brother the most and Eddie for literally being blown tf up)

Eddie is still much more resentful than Chucky since Chucky started to feel more thankful towards Eddie as time went on with having his family, Eddie tends to be a lot more snappier and grumpier around Chucky but is still able to tolerate him and even sometimes have a good bonding moment like they used to

Chucky on the other hand just acts like how an asshole big brother would to their little brother, just messing with them in stupid ways like how they used to do as kids/young adults

4. If anyone ever wanted to know what John/Dr. Death does in his free time/where he lives in the Ray house, he basically just keeps to himself in the attic of the house studying and practicing his magic and spirituality

He does come down to other parts of the house on occasion and regularly interacts with the Rays (but talks to and hangs out with Eddie the most), since he acts as the family's advisor/guide the kids and Chucky tend to go to him in the attic a lot since he tends to have knowledge they need

The state of Chucky and John's friendship is still... Icy but is much better than it was before!

I also HC that they were childhood friends as well, thus that being how Chucky found him to teach him Magic and Soul Bending/Shifting (what I'm calling the spell/s where Chucky would transfer souls and such) and Soulmancy (what I'm replacing the Voodoo with cuz yall know why)

5. The Rays do, in fact, have a dog that acts as a family companion and guard dog that keeps the house and the kids safe (in Chucky's words) that they all got as a puppy when the youngest (my Chiffany fankid Buddy) was around 9 years old

The dog is a 4 year old medium sized but very muscular German Shepherd/Pitbull Mix that's dubly named King Ghidorah, very vicious, strong and protective of his property and family when need be, but is most of the time a giant sweetheart that likes to think he's a lapdog

Fun fact: King Ghidorah was given to The Rays by Chucky's friend Jerry when he had found the pup in a box of "free puppies" that was stationed in front of the Walmart that's in Hackensack and decided that a puppy from that box would've made a GREAT birthday gift for Buddy

Ofc, since Buddy was a 9 year old, he LOVED it! King Ghidorah is now closest/bonds the most with Buddy, Chucky, and June/Junior all in that order (though Ghidorah loves EVERYONE)!

How do you feel about all the old chucky stuff? How would the characters in your childs play au react to old chucky?

I really like them, not as much as Bride or Seed (Seed is my favorite!) but I still really like them

The only one I really don't like is CP3 (it's just really lame compared to all the other movies)!

As for reactions from my characters from my OceanBerry AU (note, I'll just be using the kids for this to not make this ask too long to read):

Glen: I feel like Glen would see the Chucky from the original trilogy to be much more of a jerk ass and much more quicker to anger than his dad is now

Think of how in God of War: Ragnarok, Kratos had a much calmer demeanor and approach to things thanks to having to raise his son. That's basically Chucky, except he still has a much more extroverted and wild approach to things (like still LOVING to kill people the way he always has)

Glenda: Thinks he would've been a helluva ton of fun to hang out with since he was doing crazy shit like ripping off his hand and turning it into a knife hand

Though she would freak out about the possibility of losing him like the Daddy's Girl she is!

Buddy: He finds this version of this father to be very intriguing and a very excellent hunter and beast when it came to his kills, but Buddy wouldn't have had the energy to keep up with his mood swings and anger issues

Jake: He can only tolerate this version of his dad through a TV screen (yes, canonically the Chucky goes Psycho movie is a thing and a franchise in this AU), way too much impulsive anger to keep up with

June: Finds him to be badass and hilarious, would've been a little shit to that version of her dad just as much as she is now lolol!

I now headcanon Junior to be a transfem agender person named Juniper (June for short) (I thank @cult-of-dollbabies for inspiring the name + hc) who is dating Grant from S3 sometime after they met in their music class in their last year of elementary school and later on rock band club in middle school!

June had realized that they felt they had no gender whatsoever but would like to present themselves as feminine when they were in that said last year of elementary school shortly after they had broken things off with Lexy (it was mutual in both ends since they started feeling more like siblings than a couple over time, a year or so later, Lexy started dating Nadine), a few months after, June met Grant!

Tell us more about Buddy's dynamic with his parents and siblings

OOOOOOO I LOVE TALKING ABOUT BUDDY SO THIS IS GONNA BE FUN!!!!!!

He's definitely pretty close to all of his family, much so that he can't really pick a favorite out of any of them. He loves all of his siblings and both his parents pretty much equally

Though he tends to lean towards being a Daddy's Boy (esp when he was a little kid) and he hangs out with Glen and Junior quite a bit since they all have an interest in music (they all love to sing, Buddy also likes to play acoustic guitar as a hobby) and they have a (sorta??) band together where's it's mostly just the three of them fucking around in one of their bedrooms and singing songs they like together and with their friends when they're over lol

Glenda is very protective of Buddy and has actually beaten kids up because they made the mistake of trying to pick on him (this is a big reason why Glenda and her siblings didn't really have bullies growing up)

Jake and Buddy both make weird art projects and cool ass weapons and knives together, one time the both of them attempted to create a bowie knife made of animal bones

It works okay, but it needs to be fixed up since the handle doesn't work too great still

Overall, although he seems like your typical lazy teen who doesn't give a shit about anything, he also has a very strong sense of loyalty and love for his family that will never break anytime soon!

🌧 - what is the weather like? the temperature? what is the worst weather that people have to anticipate? what weather is common there that isn’t in other places? how prepared are people for weather outside the norm?

Most of the time, it's basically just fog and slight drizzles of rain that rules over the town of OceanBerry

In the summer it gets sunnier and warmer, but the fog still lingers on the ground the entire time

The worst of it is in winter when pretty much the whole time, it's completely covered in snow, hail and rain

The people of OceanBerry are pretty used to it, every year everyone prepares for the harsh soggy winter

OceanBerry is very much known for having fog 24/7, no matter what, and the plant life (including the blueberries and blackberries) always manages to stay alive in OceanBerry's "warmer" climates

🏫 - how are children taught? is there a school? are children homeschooled, educated by private teachers? what is that education like - are children taught the same things in other towns?

Well, it's basically this:

Half of OceanBerry's children are homeschooled pretty much their whole education, unless they want to go to college afterwards

The other half attend elementary school thats in OceanBerry, it's name being Fogbush Elementary from daycare age (cuz there's a daycare section of the school) until 6th grade

After they go into middle school, since there is no middle of high school in OceanBerry, those kids now would have to wake up around 6 in the morning or earlier to wait for and catch the bus that'll take them to Hackensack (which is an hour away from OceanBerry in driving distance) to their respective schools there

🔨- what are the most common jobs? which jobs are in the highest demand? do people choose where they work or are they assigned jobs? do they follow the family businesses?

For the men of OceanBerry, they either work as lumberjacks/wood workers, construction workers, or any work they can find in Hackensack (for example, one resident of OceanBerry works as a lawyer/legal worker in Hackensack)

A couple of them are also shopkeepers for stores that are in OceanBerry (like a couple convenience stores and a thrift shop)

For the women, they either stay at home, work at home, or are in jobs such as teachers, daycare workers, and cooks/bakers, for example one local woman runs a much beloved cafe/bar in OceanBerry

So I feel, as much as his resting "I don't give a shit" face says otherwise, he's always willing to listen to her and give her small pieces of advice she could either take or leave if she chose

Plus he would have her participate in making her weapons (esp made of animal bones and parts) just to give her something to do with her hands ig lol! Plus it's good bonding for them!

I love the fact that you gave Chucky some human friends. I think that Chucky should be allowed to just be some guy sometimes. My favorite thing about Bride and Seed is that it gave the character some breathing room to just be a person, which is something so unique to the slashers in the slasher genre. This unstoppable killing machine is also just a guy and he does other things sometimes. I love that.

OOOOOO THIS IS GONNA BE FUN!!!!

🎭 - what exists in town for entertainment? is there a theater? sports grounds? parks? a library? what do people do for fun?

Since it's an extremely small town surrounded by lots of trees and is the nearest town (being Hackensack) being an hour drive away, there's not too much to do in OceanBerry unless yourself creative enough to find ways to occupy yourself there

There are the OceanBerry Pond that people like to hang out at (esp the local children), a baseball field, some small shops ran by a couple of the locals, a library that's in the same building as the elementary school, a few hiking and walking trails, and a old abandoned indoor water park that had shut down in the 80s due to no money coming to it anymore and it's owner passing away

Kids still love to sneak into there for urban exploration, it's now well known to the children of OceanBerry as The Pool Rooms (if you get the reference you get a yummy treat)

🗣 - how do people treat each other? are they friendly? do they keep to themselves? what is considered ‘polite’ among people? ‘rude’? (ex. in busy areas, it’s generally considered more polite to do your business quickly, whereas in more rural areas, it’s often more polite to stop and chat. or, in australia, calling people ‘sir’ or ‘ma’am’ is more disrespectful than not.)

The people of OceanBerry generally are very much into keeping things to themselves and most don't even like talking to others that are outside of their respective family and friend group

They can be friendly if you're not too nosy about their business or ask too many questions about a, certain doll family

They tend to be much friendlier you're apart of their family or friend group or somehow gain their trust

It's pretty much like the townspeople of Derry from It, but they're a lot more subdued and very outdoorsy type of people

⚔️ - what are the biggest threats to the town? what are the biggest internal problems (robbery, vandalism, mugging, murder)? how does the general populace feel about these things?

There used to be a local bully who happened to be a notorious uncaught serial killer that would absolutely TERRORIZE the town to the point where the children would barely be able to go outside to play due to him

But ever since Chucky and his family came in and took over the house by killing him, now Chucky is the only real threat to the town

But due to Chucky getting rid of the town's biggest problem they had, they basically see him as a "protector/guardian" of their town and they welcome him and his family with open arms and they've been a part of OceanBerry ever since (hell, Chucky even has a group of friends he hangs out with at his place or the cafe's bar that are locals from OceanBerry)!

Is the closest friend of Chucky's

A Lumberjack

In his mid 40s

6 feet tall, bald, always wears a baseball cap, has a five a clock shadow

Is pretty quiet, keeps to himself a lot of the time

Has a wife and a teenage son

Lives in a small wooden cabin and mostly likes hanging out on his porch on a lawnchair

Has a huge gun collection

Jerry Hickens:

A Construction Worker/Money Launderer

In his late 50s

5 foot 5, very wide set and overweight, yet has big muscular arms and stupendous strength, has light brown messy and curly short hair, also has a moustache

He's the loudest, crudest, and the biggest asshole of the group (whos heart only shines for his friends and family)

Loves to have bar fights and just scream and throw shit around in general

He lives in a small one story house with his wife and 10 kids (5 are in their teen years and the other 5 are young kiddos around 5-10 years old)

He and his family are Jewish

Bob Berkeley:

Works as a janitor for Fogbush Elementary

In his late 30s

5 foot 3, very skinny and pale skinned, has shoulder length reddish brown hair that is very wavy and unruly in nature, has a very angular face structure with a ratty goatee

He's very much the Twitchy Paranoid Eccentric Weirdo of the group, he tends to have a natural shiver which causes him to shake a lot of the time

He's the one that supplies Chucky with lots of poisons and chemicals from his janitor's closet

Surprisingly, he and Chucky plan a lot of murders that Chucky commits outside of OceanBerry together lol

He lives with his girlfriend and his little brother he became guardian to when his parents died
