Sorry for the word vomit but I need to rant-

As a fanfic writer who only spits out things every once in a while... I can't STOP writing. My fic keeps growing. My one fic is up to 20k+ finished and STILL GROWING. Like, I have to delete scenes to make this work. I've never written this much before and I'm kind of glad and kind of scared that it isn't slowing down

Realizing how similar Jeremie and Aelita from Code Lyoko are to Lewis/Cornelius and Franny from Meet the Robinsons...

You have your blonde prodigy genius who messes with time travel and other inventions although it's inadvisable. And you have their musically inclined genius wife who puts up with no ones bullshit but is an absolute sweetheart.

It's greater if you consider Franny has two brothers who live with them and Ulrich and Odd fill in that role for Aelita perfectly. Not sure where Yumi would fit in but well... It doesn't have to be exact but it's making me think of the Lyoko Warriors future where they live in a mansion similar to the Robinsons.

Jeremie has his gigantic lab. Aelita and Odd regularly have food fights where Odd tests his food related contraptions on the rest of the group. Yumi and Ulrich of course have their own gym and Aelita has her music room with every instrument she could ever want. A redeemed Sissi is often driven crazy by the antics around the house but Odd helps mellow her attitude and she can't deny being part of such a large family after it being just her and her father for years is really nice. William is there too of course and for the heck of it I'd like to believe a retired Jim is too acting like the well intentioned uncle or dad to the whole group.

They all live as a big happy family and the future is theirs to innovate.

(Also I came to this realization after looking through the Cornelius and Franny tag and realizing EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. of the text posts there is Jerlita like pls... 😭😂)

I said it would updated sporadically and I fuckin’ meant it apparently. I finished page 3 the same day I finished the first two and posted them. I finished page four today after working on it in incredibly tiny increments every now and then since that day. I only needed five minutes to finally finish it and post it today.

Fanfic Snippet: Never Like That

Just a cute clip from my current fanfic I'm working on!

Odd x Sissi from Code Lyoko; So far, it's 25k with 6 chapters. ❤

“What are you even doing out here?” she said, leaning back to sit fully on the bench.

Odd smiled. “Well, I have a duty to my dog- I mean,” he said, gesturing to Kiwi who was sniffing Sissi’s legs, intrigued by the new visitor. “My dog has a dooty. If you know what I mean.”

His smile widened as he grinned at his own joke. Sissi looked wide-eyed at his dog and suddenly stifled a giggling laugh.

“I’m guessing it’s a serious duty.” she said, rolling her eyes but finally giving him a full smile. 

Odd felt a warm pulse in his chest.

“Yeah, a really big dooty, considering his size.” Odd patted his knees in an attempt to get Kiwi to jump up.

Sissi laughed a little harder, a light bubbling sound that had never been present when they were around each other. The warmth in his chest crept up to his ears and he looked quickly down at Kiwi, trying to hide the effect her laughter was having on him.

At least she wasn’t sad anymore.

“You know,” Sissi said contemplatively, “I don’t think you’ve ever told me your dog’s name.”

Odd nodded, looking towards Sissi carefully. “You never asked.”

Sissi opened her mouth as if she was going to say something. Odd’s eyes darted to her glossy pink lips a couple of times before he was bombarded with several kisses from his dog.

Kiwi had jumped into his face, licking him as he wagged his tail.

“Alright! Alright!” he said, laughing. “This is Kiwi. I believe you two have met.” 

Kiwi barked in response.

Sissi chuckled beside him as he calmed his dog down. Looking at her again, Odd smiled. 

“Do you want to pet him?”

“Oh!” she said, a little surprised at the gesture. 

Odd was unsure if she would want to be licked by Kiwi but the soft lighthearted side of her was completely distracting. He was on unfamiliar terms when it came to gentle gestures between himself and Sissi. 

He held Kiwi up to her slightly. “He won’t bite. I promise.”

“Well,” she said hesitating, “I really do like dogs.”

Sissi smiled then and her hand reached out towards Kiwi’s head. Kiwi, who would usually bark at her, was behaving quite wonderfully. He sniffed her hand for a moment before letting her rub his ears. Sissi gently ran her fingers through his thin fur. 

“He’s so soft.” she said.

Odd nodded, watching her fingers as they moved against his dog.

“Yeah,” he said, “he’s great for cuddling.”

Sissi nodded and leaned into Odd’s space, giving Kiwi a small kiss on the forehead.

“I’m sure you are.” she said, her voice changing into something he could only consider a dog voice. “You’re just so cute, oh I wish I would have known how cute you were.”

Odd felt frozen in front of her. It was the closest they had ever been to one another, other than throwing back and forth insults. They were so close, even in the spring sun, he could feel the heat radiating from her body. Sissi’s demeanor was strikingly different from the harsh persona she put on in front of everyone. It was a completely new side to her that, frankly, Odd was finding hard not to be entranced by.

Sissi smiled brightly, scratching under Kiwi's chin. She looked up from her cooing and froze as well, finally noticing how close they had become. 

Her smile dropped, only briefly, as her eyes darted around Odd’s face. Slowly, nervously, she brushed her hair behind her ears.

Odd had never felt so completely compelled to kiss someone before.

Spell Artist: Orlando Zane Hunter

Orlando Zane Hunter Jr. is an international artist and healer who creates from a Black womanist framework. Hunter is a co-founder of the collective Brother(hood) Dance! and a 2015/16 Dancing While Black Fellow. In their work, Hunter tackles issues resulting from a white supremacist system. She grew up dancing hip-hop and graduated with a BFA in Dance from Univ. of Minnesota where he acquired movement vocabularies such as Afro-Brazilian, West-African Guinea, and Contemporary Yorchha, a mix of yoga, a martial art form called Chhau, and Oddissi. While attending he performed works by Donald Byrd, Bill T. Jones, Carl Flink, Louis Falco, Colleen Thomas, Uri Sands, Stephen Petronio and Nora Chipaumire. His solo “Mutiny” was selected to represent the University of Minnesota at the 2011 ACDFA gala in Madison, Wisconsin.In 2014  he co-choreographed “Redbone: A Biomythography” that debuted at the Nuyorican Café, Wild Project Theater, Duke University: Women’s center, and Flight deck theater in Oakland, CA. Hunter studied GLBT activism and history in Amsterdam and Berlin. He has performed with Christal Brown/INspirit Dance Company, Contempo Physical Dance, Forces of Nature, Germaul Barnes, Andre Zachary/ Renegade Performance Group, Makeda Thomas, Erick Montes/ Danceable Projects, Threads Dance Project, TU Dance and Ananya Dance Theater, an all women of color company where they were the first male bodied member and toured with them to Trinidad & Tobago and Zimbabwe.

As an exercise in proving to myself how far my art skills have come, I’m redrawing a Code Lyoko fancomic I made over 6 years ago now but never posted anywhere. This’ll be updated incredibly sporadically, just like everything else I do. Once I’ve got the whole revamped version up, I’ll post the OG version so that we can all laugh at how bad it is (apparently, me from 6 years ago didn’t know that gutters were a thing).

Untouched by the Machine World

As a delegate at the seven day International SPICMACAY Convention (Jun 2019) at JNU Delhi, I had the opportunity to come across the diverse Indian culture in one go. There was a 3 hour yoga session early in the morning (Hath Yoga/Nada Yoga/Koodiyattam/Mindfulness) followed by a 3 hour intensive program in the mid part of the day (Music- Carnatic/Hindustani, Dance – From Bharatanatyam to Oddissi, Painting – From Rogan to Paper Mache) followed by Classical performances (which also included Choir, Gurubani etc) later in the evening. These performances also included gurus who had conducted the intensives. Being a trained Bharatnatyam dancer and a Carnatic vocalist, any Indian art form has always been a sacred space and a haven for me. Amongst the intensives, my favourite was the painting section. Be it Madhubani, Bhil, Pata chitra, Rogan, Wood carving or Masks, none of these can be reproduced in a machine! Now, this could be both a plus and a minus. Plus, because the creativity, novelty and the effort taken makes the art unique, pure and precious. Minus, because the art would die soon if it is not only kept intact in its purest form but also propagated as is. This made me wonder - how an art could be preserved? Are we all responsible in some way to take action here? What about those who aren't artistically inclined? Can they be initiated to these art forms as passive observers or connioussers? Gandhi’s mantra - Be the change you wish to see has literally become a part and parcel of my life! After a careful thought, I decided to learn the art and propagate it. Through learning, I will appreciate it more. And like Maya Angelou has said – If you get, give. If you learn, teach. The more I appreciate it, the more I would likely propagate it. Our rich heritage is something we could be proud of. Quoting Madhavan's dialogue from Rang De Basanti movie - कोई भी देश perfect नहीं होता । उसे perfect बनाना पड़ता है । Wouldn't it be great if we could use science and technology to appreciate ourselves for who we are in all its beauty and fervour, discarding the superstitions and retaining the cultural aspects that also shape us as a nation? I aim to study the paintings of India and how music and dance are inter related with it. Like for instance, the Oddissi movements (the bends or the curves) have implicit similarities to the figures of a Pata chitra (an art form in Orissa).

To start with,

Why were these art forms created? Was it to convey stories about the communities?

What were the customs followed at the time?

What were the colours used? What would happen if synthetic colours are chosen over natural ones? Will the art form still have the same beauty? What if it doesn't?

Why does Madhubani have imperfect figures?

What’s the secret of the gum in Rogan art?

How are the 5 colours processed for a Pata Chitra?

What’s Phad painting? How to do Paper cutting?

Why can’t these art forms be reproduced? Why no one wants to know more about them?

I want to go on a quest about our heritage and just be inj time, if not late, to preserve it before getting lost forever. Special thanks to SPICMACAY for taking such an ambitious task, humungous rather, to introduce Indian Classical Art forms in schools all over the country and arranging conventions like these with participation of over a 1000 schools across the length and breadth of the country with tutelage and performances of some of the finest artisits, the nation has ever produced! My sincere pranams to the team working towards it with all the zeal, enthusiasm, simplicity and sincerity. I feel truly blessed to be an Indian and fortunate enough to be part of this wonderful journey.

Kajol Is Going To Make Her Debut In Digital World With A Web Movie Called ‘Tribhanga’ And It Will Be Produced By Ajay Devgn

In the last couple of years, several Bollywood actors have made their debut in digital platform such as Saif Ali Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Kalki Koechlin, Radhika Apte, Manoj Bajpayee, Dia Mirza, Emraan Hashmi and several others. Soon, actors like Abhishek Bachchan, Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra will mark their debut in digital also.

Now, My Name is Khan Actress Kajol may appear on the OTT platform also. She is expected to be seen in a web movie. It is a story with multi-generation. By Ajay Devgn, the movie will be produced. Renuka Shahane will be helming the movie. In addition to Kajol, Mithila Palkar and Tanvi Azmi will be seen in this movie also. Through a statement, Ajay Devgn has said “When my team and co-producer Banijay Asia got on board with Netflix, we were excited that we could tell this story in a much more nuanced manner, with the highest production standards possible and reach a wider audience.”

On the occasion, director Renuka Shahane has said “This is an incredible opportunity and it feels amazing to collaborate with Netflix for the film and know that it will be available across the world on literally the same day. We have a great cast and a beautiful storyline. I cannot wait to begin shooting.”

Title of the movie ‘Tribhanga’ has come from Oddissi dance pose that seems asymmetrical and disjointed. However, it is beautiful and sensual at the same time. Life of these three women Nayan, Anu and Masha is a similar to the Oddissi pose.
