got bored, did a mock-up for a print ad making a hypothetical for Hi-Fi Rush on the original Xbox... because print ads fucking rule okay
(edit: disregard my misspelling of Vandelay on top. A bot got decommissioned for that print error)

I got this OG Xbox at a retro game shop in town! I asked the employee if he had any junk consoles because I'm learning to repair them, and he was super happy and gave me the Xbox with cords for free. It was a bit dusty but easy to clean.
I also got an Xbox controller, PS1 controller, NES controller, and Wii remote (all with various non-essential faults) for a grand total of $30. It was insanely cool.
And guess what-- IT WORKS!
Other than a faulty disc drive (which I will be able to either repair or replace pretty easily) the console is fully functional and even has some save files from its previous owner. I disassembled it and it looks like it's been cleaned and maybe refurbished fairly recently. It just had a bit of dust and small spiderweb. I think the hard drive was swapped.
I also took apart the NES controller and cleaned it. It was absolutely disgusting; brown buildup all over the buttons and in the cracks. It also had some melted spots?? It's clean now and looks good other than the melted spots and slight yellowing. I don't currently have a way to test it, but it looked good on the inside.
I'll probably clean the PS1 controller tonight. It also has a damaged cable (looks like a mouse chewed on it), but is supposedly still functional and will be super useful if/when I get PS1s or PS2s to work on. As for the Wii controller, it's clean and turns on but I can't test it. I was also told that the motion sensor is broken, which is fine with me.
I've been nerding out all evening, I love this so much
