hey! a while ago you said one of your bdubs headcannons was that he was raised by glares but is human.

its such an intresting thought honestly. does that mean he does glare stuff just bc he saw it happen as he grew up (like nesting (hc ig that they do) or collect moss?

Ok so real quick: I need you to imaging something for me.

You and your Pod (group of glares) are hanging around, as you do, when suddenly you see a player child. Literally a baby. Glares are passive and they actively try and help them by letting the know they’re in danger. And you and your Pod are kind beings. You take the player in.

In my mind, the little bundles of moss are actually like. Babies. Or children. Glares grow up to be bigger and mildly human like, but not much. They have arms and legs but it’s all swamped by their shrouds. They eat similar food as humans but drink water different.

Bdubs manages to survive. He thrives even. He grows taller than his brothers and sisters and he grows no tail and he is different but he is loved. He still fears the dark like the Glare. He still knows how to warn of it.

He is different than humans in that he will hardly ever take off his shroud. A lot of his time is spent on maintaining it. Weaving moss and vine and bits of wool, feathers, sheddings- those last few things are from the other hermits. He has moss woven from his Pod, the hermits are just a different family. (All familial weavings are on the inside of the shroud, as to protect them from harm, like sun and water damage.) He weaves clippings from his floras and weaves them to the outside. Every Glare can read a shroud like a story, Bdubs’s is full of adventure and wonder and terrors beyond that any Glare should ever go through.

He does make nests! Technically. His bedrooms are always full of plant life and windows and light- beds are far more comfortable than just plain moss most nights! Sometimes he’ll sleep in the comforting hold of it.

He has a way with animals as well, having been raised in a society where he doesn’t have to raise them for meat and the like and just got to play with them a lot of animals just love him. Especially horses. Which rules because Bdubs LOVES. Horses.

The most Glaringly Obvious is the fact that he will scowl and glare and hiss at basically every overly dark space. Starting a world with him and not knowing that part of his life means you’re being constantly hissed at by your friend. He knows he doesn’t have to do it, but he likes to warn his friends anyways <3

Finally exhales cause I did that all in one breath at one point I drew like Gem I think asking Impulse if Bdubs was mad (like. Supposed to be start of season 8) and impulse replied”Oh it’s ok!! He’s just scared of the dark!!”

You sat in Carl's bed patients running thin. He'd been gone 45 minutes longer than he should have and it had you beyond scared.

He always does this when he goes out for supplies, he gets side tracked getting things for you, new pads, tampons. If he sees a book you've been talking about he has to pick it up, he cares so deeply about making you happy, especially now that you were officially dating.

You were on the bed hugging his pillow, your finger nails digging into it. You often slept in the same bed so it wasn't technically his but it still felt that way, you preferred to sleep in Carl's bed because it just felt like him.

Carl walked into his room holding a box of tampons "where were you?!" You yelled jumping up, you didn't mean for it to come out as it did. "Getting you tampons? You are on your period aren't you?" Your boyfriend asked holding the box up.

"Carl.." you ran up and hugged him only to be pushed off ( not hard but yk) "hang on, how come you get to yell at me and then act like nothing happened?"

"I didn't mean to yell I was just worried" you said looking up at him figiting with the coller of your tee shirt. "Well it's still not ok for either of us to talk to the other that way" his opinion didn't seem to change at all even though he knew you were just scared

Glenn was like a father to you and would never let you go with Carl, he was worried you were too young even though you and your boyfriend were the same age.

What I'm about to write is so half-baked, I apologize in advance lmao I think it would begin with Alden or Della pulling him to the side and noting how much time he's been spending with Marella-- at this point, Fitz knows he has feelings for her, but he's also very aware of the ramifications. They remind him how important his reputation is, and how it will hurt not only him, but Marella, her family and his own.

He doesn't want this to end the way it did with Sophie. He doesn't want to care about it. But he does- especially as his age creeps closer and closer to the time he's expected to have a winnowing gala. For a while, he starts to distance himself from Marella.

And because she knows him so well, she clocks the reason almost immediately. However, she doesn't confront him on it immediately like she normally would. Because part of her is just as terrified of being a bad match. she doesn't want to hurt his reputation either. She doesn't want to ruin his life. And really, she doesn't want to handle the scorn either. They've talked about it in the past, how big of a deal it is to do things by the book.

But the desire to be with one another is so powerful, that at some point- Fitz takes a leaf out of Keefe's book- finds a forbidden cities leaping crystal and asks Marella to go to the human world with him. It's stupid and reckless. He's never done anything like this. But he's really starting to feel trapped, and well-- he's not friends with Keefe for no reason. He understands his childhood bestfriend's desire to run. He's just never been brave enough to do it before.

But this situation is the final nail in the coffin. And he's just like 'Well, let's seen if Keefe's method really works.' (it's the first time he feels he's ever done something for himself. It's freeing. and terrifying.)

Marella agrees to go with him after a few weeks of radio silence. Because in the human world they can just be. They both agree that this will be their final hurrah, and then, they wont pursue anything with one another. They'll follow the paths laid out for them. However, this does not work, and they end up just secretly dating-- the lie dangling over their heads.

Fitz, of course, realizes he's a hypocrite for it. For suddenly being so willing to do this with Marella, where he wasn't with Sophie. His whole life he has been watched and seen as an image. But Marella is the first girl to truly see through to who he really is, and to shed the false perceptions she had of him early on in their friendship. Whereas, part of him- though he denied it at the time- always felt like Sophie also saw him as perfect in many ways. It was an idea she wasn't quite ready to let go of when it came to him- It feels different with Marella. And besides, Sophie has Keefe now. (but of course, Sophie is still hurt by this when she finds out. Not enough to cause friendship ruining drama, but definitely like 'damn ok ig' lol)

Marella gets exposed as a pyrokinetic at some point, which leads to massive scorn, on top of people finding out they're together.

It's a mess. They probably break up a few times in between everything-- but then one day, things calm down. The Neverseen is defeated, and real societal changes are made, and while it isn't perfect, you can't erase a way of thinking completely, it makes it easier.

ok like i said i'll go over kust the brief basic stuff cuz I'm not good with words. but basically its sy dropped in pidw like, mid endgame ig, with already blackened protag and no system. so he's like, this might as well happen and goes to vibe and explore bc he's been dropped with the basic necessities to live for a bit. after some time he realizes he's in PIDW and after the initial outrage decides to capitalize on it and uses knowledge from his days spent editing the pidw wiki for fun. so he's running along having fun cataloguing things into several bestiaries and herbals (and cartography stuff etc just compiling worldbuilding) and decides to publish them with an actual success and he becomes a bit of a well-known author in the encyclopedia scene. so he's living out his best life, traveling from place to place, using his meta timeline knowledge to stay clear of the places that are plot-relevant at the time, happy to stay clear out of the path of his blackened blorbo.

that is until someone publishes a binghe biography that is so bad and so 'conquests' focused that he cant help but write his own (leaving out too personal things that he's sure lbh wouldn't want out there) under a pseudonym as a deliberate critique of the other one, which he even clearly states in the prologue of it (that the work is a disservice and disrespectful to the lord and wives alike and much more flowery vitriol, just letting his old angry commenter out)

so its published and it doesnt actually do half-bad because over the years of writing he has gotten pretty decent and that's it for a while. Until it gets to the demon lord. it gets brought to his attention by his court which takes care of notifying him of any possibly slanderous works (lbh doesn't actually care that much about stuff like that but they insist on it and its less tiresome to just let them do whatever than to keep telling them off) so they're like, there's one book, which isn't technically, a critique of the lord, but does criticise the other one which sings praises to him to all heavens so?? technically? (lbh knows of the first one but thought nothing of it bc it was mid and mostly inaccurate but again, he doesn't acre about that stuff rly) so they hand it over and he skims through it and slowly realizes that there is a lot of things that no-one or just a select few should have any idea about so, ok much more concerning than any bad portrayal of his person, even if nothing actually too-secret didn't get exposed in it. its about the principle. so he first conducts a search of his palace and his circle of people if the author is any of the people around because, who else could know about all this (trying to ignore the stuff that no-one except from him should be aware off) but it turns out with no results. so he orders his people to try to find them but the lands are vast and there's authors of plenty so of course that is also almost impossible.

anyways, To have an entire group of people completely abandon one god in favor of another in such a short timespan? well usually that happens cause of stuff like genocide or cultural genocide. Or maybe the moths just slowly drifted away towards PK, which can happen over generations. But it also sort of seems like. self destructive ig. Radi destroying the people of any neighboring kingdom because she's *furious* man. so upset, and angry, and lonely even. Like, imagine being a very powerful individual with a very loyal fan base only for some weird ass fork looking thing to steal that fan base away from you. Well, more like a kingdom but ig fanbase may be the online equivalent. But here comes some fuckoff weird fork lookin man, steals your look, steals your people, and then fucks off. AND. Also stole folk away from some other nearby local gods? the fucks up with that?? fuck you actually PK. I'm gonna idk, wipe out ur cities. that's pretty reasonable for a god's reaction right?

But here's the thing, people don't react reasonably all the time. Radi basically lost everything. Her people started drifting away from her until there was one singular old moth left who still seemed to care about her still. And they were alone. Her and her singular moth follower were oh so painfully alone, with nothing but ghosts to keep them company.

So she lashes out. Ignoring the fact that causing a massive plague is generally extreme cause she's a god, we can still recognize that she is very deeply hurt, upset, and angry. And normal people when hurt, upset, and angry, don't usually think clearly. They tend to say things that hurt people, or sound agressive, or even be agressive. Some people may isolate even, though different people do different things. Radi's reaction was to lash out in a way that hurt anyone around them.

"ok, but what does this have to do with places like Greenpath or Deepnest?" GREAT question invisible audience. Sometimes people react to things that are associated with a certain topic with the same reaction as the certain topic. There are certain songs I disliked until I saw a really cool video go along with it, which made me like the song. The brain is weird like that, and likes to categorize things (even if we don't recognize it as categorizing). Add in a "me vs them" mentality and it only gets worse. That is likely what happened here. Radi gets pissed off at PK, and likely also at the white lady. Well, the white lady has control over greenpath now, unlike Unn, so fuck the greenpath too cause that's technically part of PK's domain. WELL he *also* has an alliance with the mantis tribe, and control over the mushroom tribe. So fuck them too.

Maybe Deepnest would have been safe if Herrah and PK didn't have their deal, but they did, and now Deepnest is terrible too for siding with PK. Maybe the hive or outer edges would have been safe, but the colluseum houses itself in a wyrm's body. And maybe at that point, radi was certain that it was her vs the world, so she *had* to protect herself/defend her honor.

"well didn't the PK deserve all that?" I mean, if you look at it from Radi's perspective sure! but what about PK's perspective? He starts up a pretty cool kingdom, has a lovely wife, is well loved by his subjects, and Radi's followers stsrt deciding to follow him. He can't control that, though he could certainly try to discourage it. He tried being friendly, though perhaps it is in his nature to want to consume all he can. To control as much as possible, to become the bigger enemy. Perhaps he and radi just fuckin. Poofed up at each other like chickens do and instead of anyone going "hey man, whats goin on? maybe we can figure this out with our words" they just keep poofing up at each other, mad at the other for different reasons.

So his people start getting sick with this religious disease caused by what's clearly a rival God. So he tries to figure out the source, and to find solutions with the least drastic measures. But it slowly builds to more and more desperate attempts until he discovers the void, something very opposite of what he and the radiance is. So he casts the children of him and WL into the void, and waits. Because *surely* this will work. a container to hold this fucker in. Trains up this container so they're really good at being a container. Well, the container is leaky and he doesn't realize until it's too late. The infection comes back, and he loses everything he once had, just like Radi did.

I think messing with the void might have led to his death, just like it does with Radi, just maybe less aggressively. Both were so desperate to try and maintain something that was never going to last, only to be consumed by what's nearly a literal definition of an end.

Maybe if they would've just talked, they would still be around with thriving communities. Maybe they would have been friends, or akin to siblings maybe. Perhaps PK and WL would have had children, and deepnest may have slowly crumbled apart from not having an heir of royal blood. Maybe Unn would regain their strength and join the other gods. Who knows what the possibilities could have been.

It's a shame, though, knowing such a connection could never happen.

This probably ig going to be messy and all the things are going to be quoted by heart because I'm lazy BUT I just had this epiphany so you will all bear with me.

Considering the title of this post it might be went unsaid but TW: incest applies to the entirety of this little things. So... Let's start.

Tywin is Rodrigo. I mean, it goes kind of unsaid, he's the head of the family, gets to the position he's in because of his meriths and his ability to use people. Overly ambitious, would do everything for the name of his family to the point where he fucks up his children completely. (There are also similities in their deaths -- more like what happens sort after but I'm not going to discuss it here, google what happens to Rodrigo Borgia's body shortly after his death if you are curious).

Jaime is Cesare. Both are their fathers' pride, the designed heirs to the family and both decide (while Cesare's wasn't technically 100% his decision) to take vows that will bring themselves to give up to their birthrights (again, "technically" if we speak about Cesare but honestly THAT part of history is more complex than ASOIAF lore). Eventually they both end up being commanders of their fathers' armies and end up in a siege which has them using more their wits than their soldiers' forces. And yes, there's the being in love with their sisters and the "maybe her kid isn't her husband's but her brother's" thing.

Cersei is Lucrezia. Their hands are basically sold to the better option on the table for political alliances all while their fathers don't really give a shit because they are women and so are only useful when they can marry them off. Actually try to love their husbands (I'm talking about Giovanni Sforza here for Lucrezia as I'm considering her first marriage) but NOOOPE out after their first night together. End up having tons of lovers because a girl has needs, ok?! Both can and will kill a man given the opportunity. End up having a lot of problems with the Church (or what passes for the Church) after their fathers die. Fall in love with their brothers at a very young age and did everything to keep them closer. (Works better for Cersei, but still)

Tyrion is Juan. End up being the heirs even if their fathers didn't want it. Have the fame of spending more time in a brothel than everywhere else. At some point are just "I'm done with this family and its utter bullshit so I'll just go away, it's been a pleasure" except that Juan does it keeping the title and the family name and continuing the dynasty while managing to die in Italy for some reasons cause he eventually comes back. (Honestly I know Tyrion is Juan is really a short paragraph and they didn't have many similarities but the rest of the parallelism worked too well and Rodrigo had more children than Cesare and Lucrezia and I wanted to let you know)

Also I watched Borgia: Faith and Fear and not The Borgias when historical TV series were still GOOD and in that series there are both Sam's and Jorah's actors so I wanted to inform you all about it. ++ Juan's actor would make an AMAZING young Robert and please chec that series out cause it's good and not too far-fatched when it comes to historic accuracy.

Jake Lloyd was 9 when he played anakin and was 4’5(135cm(this number was rounded)

Hayden Christiansen was 19 when playing Anakin in ep 2 no was 6’0(182cm)

Now why do we need this information? Basically we’re going to find the average growth (in cm) per year between ages 9-19.

We can take 135cm and divide it by age,9, to give us 15cm. Now this makes sense because you grow a lot from when you were an infant to a young kid but this rapidly growing doesn’t add up when you are older. ( I am not accounting for growth spurts I’m working with a fixed continúes growth) so we 15/2=7.5cm which does mathematically make more sense. So we can set up this equation 7.5x= y which basically means 7.5 times X years (because time is a constant) and Y is height.

Yes we can switch the variables to a different symbol but this makes sense to me, because in my mind, there’s a graph. Very blurry graph but still there :)

Also Give or Take a few cm because no one grows at a constant.

And you can carry this on for when there adults and have him permanently taller. But I like to have fun with it and have him stop around 5’8-5’11 (because I think it’s funny and there’s no way all that stress didn’t do anything to stunt is height yk.)

Now I took 5’8 (177) and divided that by 16 (for already explained reasons) and got a scary number 11.0625 so I just then I divided it by 2= 5.5

So to do this logistically I worked backwards

okaayyy so first is mk right so abt mk's vision,, mk is like the last in the little hero group to get a vision. hes been tryin for SO LONG to get one and ever since mei got hers hes been kinda more driven to get one himself. he knows theres like- special circumstances involved n hes been tryin to like get that cool thing to happen so they can get theirs but,,, nothins worked yet yknow mk like tries to make guess abt what vision theyre gonna get one day and mei thinks mk is gonna get pyro and like woah cool just like his da-- i mean pigsy!!! so hes not sayin itd be his one and only choice but thinkin about it and what tang has said abt visions he thinks pyro is def possible bc hes real passionate about a lot of things!! like his job and his friendships and MONKEY KING LORE and yknow all that good stuff so he gets it after doin somethin similar to the big fight at the end of a hero is born just- beatin' the SHIT out dbk ig along with his friends and while hes there and struggling but knowin he has to defeat this guy for the sake of everyone he ends up getting his vision and he doesnt focus on the element too much (it does end up being geo) at first its more just HOW TF DO I USE THIS NOW.. but he ends up doin somethin real wacky and BOOM dbk gone 4 now and like after all that is over n we're back to chilling he and the others r like celebrating bc WOO mk got his vision AND we defeating a huge demon!! and mei is like huh i really thought u were gonna get pyro like me and tang is like pushes up glasses well acTUALLY-- and proceeds to explain why geo visions r given to people and all that and while mk does have a lot of passion which would make it make sense 4 him to have a pyro vision hes far more hardworking with his job already and now that hes monkey kid hes gonna b working even harder to protect people mk's been working hard all his life really, not just with his job and now defeating demons, hes been working hard to get a vision so he could be something greater, his bio parents he doesnt remember much about but they were always so unimpressed and demanding so he tried real hard to live up to their expectations and make them happy because he wants his friends and family 2 be happy,, and hes always tried hard to be something more than what he is as he got older and all the monkey king stories really inspired him a lot and thats why hes loved all this lore and stuff for so many years but like,, he could never be a hero like that,,, oh wait anywho mk is a geo polearm(?) user, dunno if ya could call the staff a polearm buuut thats what im goin' with hes also got monkey king's abilities along with the geo ones so ohu boy,, ill talk more abt that part when i get to wukong and mac ALSO I FEEL LIKE MK COULD ALSO BE PYRO AND I COULD CHANGE IT BUT,, I LIKE GEO TOO,,,, oops all pyro traffic light trio????

i dont got much for red son either buuut heres what i do got; red son kinda already has,, magic of sorts bc,, yknow partial demon (in this hes only like,, half technically. yknow how yanfei is like half adeptus-) but its amplified a bunch by the vision and WOO FIRE and theyre a pyro catalyst honestly debating on whether or not they wold have a book or whatever that other floaty thingy is called but like when i imagine either they kinda look similar to dodoco tales or blackcliff agate hmm,, red's two big passions are building and cooking- his tech could possibly rival that of fontaine's advancements if he wanted it to,, they actually take some inspiration from the works of fontaine as well as for the cooking, u already know, spice master. i want a cooking battle with them and xiangling- they'd laugh at the hottest option on the menu at wanmin red son got their vision pretty early in life- a bit older than he was in canon,, which was still a problemmm and ya can guess why,, demon power fire element amplification little tempermental fire demon boy go boom boom samadhi fire or somethin,, so yeah theyre not as powerful as they could be and the vision was actually taken from them until they were older and more mature i suppose red doesnt remember this- they think they got their vision at an older age since it kinda just appeared by him one morning

Without severus to keep his snakes safe the house has just been treated like absolute dirt for the past 11 years, which results in murder of one of the snakes, making the purebloods finally done with this bullshit and drop their students out of there. Leaving the school to mostly lions and like a few students from each house, also with Harry not there voldy is free to get the stone without worry or needing to distract a lot of students.

The ministry arrest albus right there, he can’t get himself out of this one, Minnie is left alone with the professor and is technically responsible for the action of her student, so she’s up on trial soon too.

Now back to Sirius who instead of looking for Harry started for Remus, which he finds quickly because a full moon was close, although he finds him in werewolf form and stays with him because he can’t hurt padfoot.

Harry is still nonverbal but doing better? He eats a little more now but still flinches whenever severus gets closer to him. Severus is fine with that, at least he’s not throwing tantrums again. Severus also finds himself more productive with Harry being interested in learning magic, buying magic books for little kids and getting sweet as rewards for the boy.

It’s odd and unsettling but it works fine for them, for now.

Voldy knows where the stone is obviously but needs to get past fluffy, with the less eyes and everyone being a mess he kills the beast and no one really notices, then starts working on the levels Dumbledore put.

Full moon ends and Remus finds himself face to face with his traitor of a friend, Sirius understands why Remus would hate him but he needed the wolf to trust him, Remus is five seconds from ripping Sirius’s head when he blurts out that he knows where Harry is exactly is.

Meanwhile severus gets his first copy in forever from the daily prophet and sees the hell hogwarts is turning into but he doesn’t care, he’s actually happy all of this is happening, let them burn for all he cares…the boy is safe and that’s what matters.

i’ve been doing such a terrible job selling the infernal devices i just know helena is watching me post like “damn she really expects me to read this flop trilogy??” so i am now going to write up a potentially very long post where i try to reason to myself in real time why i was wrong when i read it in middle school and it’s not as bad as i’m describing and if i reread it as an adult with better taste i would enjoy it immensely. ok. so first of all i don’t like steampunk shit i think it’s cringey in the same way panic at the disco is cringey. however my brain was probably just over saturated with cringe due to being 13 years old in 2014. if i read it now it would be post-cringe, camp even. secondly, i didn’t vibe with the love triangle stuff. i hate love triangles and it always seems incredibly and annoyingly obvious which one of them will be endgame. tessa and will are still no exception to this, it is painfully and annoyingly obvious in tid that they’re getting together in the end, as much as cassie tried to trick us with tessa and jem’s engagement. she didn’t trick me. HOWEVER. NOW i know that i was looking at it wrong. i was 13 what did you expect from me i literally was performatively obsessed with one direction back then. so NOW i understand that the whole appeal of tessa and will and jem is that they are three people who love each other equally and it’s not necessarily a choice between any of them as much as the eventual outcome was dictated by circumstance. technically in canon will and jem are just platonic besties but like if cassie can log on to HER tumblr and say “hey. they might be gay. who’s to say really” then i think i can log on to MY tumblr and call these men gay. and of course, will and tessa only married because jem had to become a silent brother, and then a hundred years later he stopped being a silent brother due to yk. jace accidentally blasting him with the heavenly fire that was consuming his body (it happens). and then immortal tessa and still alive jem got married. and she doesn’t love one of them more than the other. and sorry for spoiling the ending in my defense these books are nearing a decade old. my next point i don’t remember what number i’m on. when i first read these books i thought will was too mean and i thought jem was too boring. so i wasn’t into tessa interacting with either of them really. like. i was right, will was mean, and jem was boring, but like. will wasn’t as mean as he seemed, he was just a bit of a cunt. and jem wasn’t as boring as he seemed, he was just kind. i was a divergent fan ok kindness wasn’t exactly a trait i was used to seeing in my fictional dudes. but am now and i think jem has nice boy swag even. well ig he’s a man now but he still has that nice kindness swag!! and he’s my bestie kit’s dad! will does still serve annoying edward cullen-esque ya love interest energy but i think i just have to forgive and forget that considering cassie is Weird about her herondale men sometimes. idk something is just wrong with that woman! i forgive her tho. i’ve forgiven more for less. and finally. i did not care for the plot! however! who does? i already know the plot, if i reread it, i can just skip the dumb stuff. everybody wins! in conclusion, i think we were ALL haters when we were 13, and when i’m done with chain of iron i’m gonna give tessa and her boys another chance for the first time since literally 2014. i’m optimistic about it those guys are literally my buddy lucie’s parents… if nothing else they are my buddy lucie’s parents!!
