#alright i suppose i should tell what's up lately! im mostly posting this like a mini update or whatever haha#so - since i made that last post on my disappearance i worked endlessly to finish my animation project and thank goodness it's finally over#i had to take a break from trying to be social here and just stay in my own space and i did that by having a smaller side blog to ramble#the project was very... tiring - definitely took out so much energy from me post physically and mentally and i was just frustrated everyday#so i just took my time to be alone with a few close people and i like to think im okay now?#i like to think so - since i was able to deliver a few commission drafts today so i'm relieved that im back to my usual pace#I'll post a few of my doodles here i did during my project just to fill the void haha#i've acquired a minor familial from another video game and i care for him a lot :] idk ill bother to talk abt it here but yeah thats funnn#also indulging a lil bit of t.n.m.n content as of late also thanks to my friend who knows abt it hehe#soo yeah! #The Loudest Silence#aroaessidhe 2024 reads#hm this was okay! it’s a sweet and light YA contemporary focusing on friendship and disability.#It’s a little cheesy; and I liked the immediate easy friendship (well; after a few false starts) and how welcoming Hayden's#friend group/family were. I like how they all jumped to learning/practicing ASL.#I liked how Casey was dealing with her newfound Deafness with a lot of positivity - the main frustrations being how other people treat her#but there’s also the underlying isolation and grief. At the same time it didn't go as deep as it could have with that?#The friendship is central to the story - but honestly I feel like Casey and Hayden’s relationship doesn’t develop past ‘they’re friends now#[continues other subplots] - it ends up being a bit telling not showing their friendship. And then she gets a love interest.#I feel like if you’re centering your book on being a platonic love story - rare in YA! - giving one a love interest kinda goes against#what’s supposed to be unique about it? Like it wasn’t overwhelming and I thought it was sweet actually; I just didn’t come here for that.#I always find it a little odd when YA contemporary books don’t explicitly name their aroace characters as aroace -#obviously I prefer an exploration of experiences to just using the word and nothing else; but in this genre; why not both?#considering various other identity labels are used and discussed there were various points where it felt like it was walking circles#around where it would be obvious to say “no I’m aroace” lmao?#And there’s a point where Casey mentions seeing an ace sticker on his guitar - the only reason it wasn’t an aroace sticker is bc#that would have ruined the minor subplot of her assuming he’s gay/dating his other friend. It felt like a slightly odd way to mention it?#but also I guess I appreciate it being evident throughout but also being a non-issue plot wise - while there’s a couple of moments#of people making romantic assumptions about them;for the most part it’s just treated normally for a boy & girl to be friends (as it should!#It does get points for mentioning people watching by conan grey LMAO (not that it really explores him feeling that way specifically;#but I mean same lol)#Overall plot-wise - there were kind of a lot of things going on and it petered out a bit? I wanted some more depth in some areas.#Also I feel like some of the references seemed out of date for current teens haha.#i do love the love for unusual pets (hairless cat and iguana)#aroace books#bisexual books

Okay so basically the United States MINT of all people is going to be working with DC to make a line of coins! These coins sadly won't be in circulation (the things I would do to live in a world where I could get Batman coins from the supermarket) as they're collectors coins, but will be releasing over the course of the next 3 years, 2025-2027.
Designs haven't been released yet (the same is true for all 2025 designs) but we know there will be 9 coins in total (3 each year) with the first year featuring (of course!!!) Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman.
Although we know the first three heroes to be featured, the remaining six have yet to be decided, and it turns out the Mint is putting out a survey on their site to gauge which of a group of culturally significant heroes people want to see most! (link to the form is mentioned in the article above)
The considered group includes: Supergirl, the Flash, Green Arrow, Black Canary, Captain Marvel, John Stewart GL, Aquaman, Hawkman, Jamie Reyes BB, Robin (Damian?), Cyborg, and Batgirl, of which 6 will be selected.
As someone who does a bit of coin collecting myself (mainly circulation coins like the quarters sets, but I also have a couple proof and collectors coins) I think this is a really cool and interesting idea that showcases the history of the comics medium and these characters and their influence on American culture. Really excited to wait and see what the designs look like for the coins already announced!

My parents and I watched the season 3 finale of Star Wars: Rebels tonight and I can't believe my mom was the one who was like "WHY ARE THEY* ALL DYING?!" and I was the one being all, "don't worry I'm sure it will be fine." this is the most role reversal we have ever done.

#so many of our part time people are incredible but there are a few that make me homicidal#one of our people is so sweet but has that flaky hippie energy that Does Not Work in this field#one morning she came in and i was like ok i need you to stay with this person while i get literally all of this shift done#and she was like okay! 😃 and not even five minutes later i looked up from the eight tasks i was juggling#and she was wandering over to the coffee maker meanwhile the person was losing their fucking mind while she was pouring her coffee#like la la la tee hee !#like with love and light meet me outside i just want to talk#a different day i had gotten everything done and had all my residents ready to go. meanwhile there was ONE resident left upstairs with her#and i heard screaming and pounding and was like christ ok and came up to check in with her and she was like haha yeah theyre really mad#and started going aww i bet you want to calm down right now wow youre going to regret being this mad later!#and i had to be like i need you to switch with me RIGHT NOW and shes all surprised like ok if you say so lol#i miraculously got everyone calm enough to get out the door and pulled her aside like HEY person who has worked here for nearly two years#when someone is not only upset but so escalated theyre trying to KICK DOWN A DOOR#you should not be like haha i bet you want to calm down sooo bad rn#and she was like lol thats a good point! 😃👆#like im going to throw you down a well

Hi, can you recommend some sapphic fantasy books that are not very in depth about politicking or war strategizing (I like those but I'm not in the headspace currently) and focus more on magical adventures, meeting strange creatures, fairytale like atmosphere etc?
I loved Girl Serpent Thorn, was hoping there is more like this. Thank you ✨
Oh yeah sure! man, I feel like when I try think about it, most high fantasy is some level of political (though maybe in YA it's not that in depth anyway)
I'm like, oh yeah, there's tons like girl serpent thorn! then i try to think of examples and I'm not sure actually haha. but here's a few that are not super political and more magic/adventure focused (as far as my memory goes), some have fairytale vibes, though aren't all super atmospheric (or strange creatures-y)

#Bug#Insect#I believe she's a female Chinese Mantid (Tenodera Sinensis) - and one of very impressive size!#She's a local! She lives in our front yard! :D#We've actually gotten to see her a few times since this - this was our first meeting!#She'll crawl up onto the mesh of the window frames and like....sunbathe? I'm not actually sure what she's doing there lol#But she is absolutely beautiful <3 And rather friendly!#Just recently I was trying to offer her some food but she seemed more interested in climbing on me haha#I deposited her on our flowers so she wouldn't be quite so high off the ground#I don't usually get intimidated by bugs but there really is something about her intense stare(s)! I worry for my fingers hehe#But no she's been very polite and Very cute#Her little reachy-reaches and jumps and wiggles ah <3 What a delight#She's always welcome around here! anyone else have those moments when they realize that they'll be depressed forever. like there's no cure for this shit till you die. like fuck me every inch of this thing is made to inflict misery. and people always say, "do everything you can, it'll get better!" but it won't. I've sat and said, "it'll get better!" to myself for years and the only thing that has happened is me being even more stubborn in not giving in to my urges. wtf am i supposed to do Linda? snort your powdered concealer? suck your husband's dick? let you ignore me so i can slowly rot until you can sit at my funeral and cry and say, "she was such a nice girl, such a shame, nothing could have helped..." as if you gave a shit while i was alive? fuck no. have fun sucking your husband's dick, Linda.
it won't "get better" unless you help me, because I've done everything I can. and if you don't care, I'll just leave and find someone who does. i may be suicidal, but i sure as hell know that no one should be treated like this, and since that excludes everyone, that means me too. can't wait till I get on antidepressants.

Finally have my performance with the orchestra in a few hours (super excited)! After that, I have a project to finish tonight (finished the other one this morning), and then some stuff for tomorrow, and then I’m FREE 💪 for a week-ish lol

#like today… i had a seriously horrible very bad day :(#so i went out to buy like $20 worth of ice cream and now both my wallet and heart feel lighter than before!!!!!#ok fr though i needa rant about my day here in the tags just to get it all off my chest in case i snap at the interns tomorrow lol#this morning one of the mfing titration machines kept giving wonky results >:(#so i just filled its stupid job queue thing with tons of repeats so that it could just run on its own while i did other things instead#then this intern came in and said ‘i’ll take care of these few machines!!!’ and yanked the probe out of the test solution…#all while the thing was still running ಠ‿ಠ and welp time wasted? time wasted.#and this other titration units kept giving invalid blank values for the entire day which sucked bc it was our best unit >:(#then this higher up lady checked the machine and found precipitates in the burette. yeah too bad she only found it like an hour before 5 ಠ‿ಠ#that machine worked properly after it was cleaned out though. as expected of our best unit~#but while those 2 units were deceased there were 2 other units that were up and running#except this random maintenance guy halted one of the unit’s runs to do some pointless check and wasted good ol’ testing time for nothing >:(#all’s fine! we still had one unit!! :)))) right??? :))))#…yeah no. while i was out submitting some results during the last hour of the workday the computer mfing restarted itself#i came back from the dude’s office to see the computer on the lock screen. ‘haha very funny who locked this?’ i thought as i keyed in the pw#oh *no* it restarted itself. while the units were mid-run. in other words the samples had to be re-keyed in、#the then-currently running samples had to be reweighed，and i still don’t know who restarted the computer >:(#to top it all off，that intern from earlier kept wandering over to pat my back and ask ‘are you okay?’#pls i literally hate human contact pls don’t touch me you’re making this worse ಥ‿ಥ#call me ungrateful but i was pretty close to snapping on her. sorry intern. you’re the capable intern too…#unlike that intern who dropped part of the equipment into the waste container while she was supposed to be washing it >:(#i hate titration soooooooo much :( i can’t wait to try out extra dangerous titration tomorrow :(#i get to play with acids this time i think? sounds like a recipe for disaster if you ask me—#anyway sorry if you read all that lmao. stay hydrated and eat tons of ice cream for a good time ok?#mona monday
