I hear GOT costume slander I immediately run over lmao

Okay look- I know absolutely NOTHING about costume design, absolutely zip. Idk anything about embroidery or symbolism or whatever with costumes. But even through my untrained and unknowledgable eyes I still know the GOT costuming is AWFUL. Its honestly so ugly to me and even before the costume spiralled down into ugly black leather costumes, none of the outfits are memorable to me. The colors (especially for the dresses) are so freaking dull and washed out. Theres not a single pop of color that catches my eyes or interesting patterning or embroidery that doesn't require me having to zoom in just to see it.

Its such a downgrade compared to the books. I LOVE reading the fashion and clothes GRRM describes. Sansa's dresses sound so lovely and everytime a piece of armor or gown is described in detail I swoon. And honestly? I don't really care about symbolism or messages or whatever being told through costuming. Its fine during important events but when EVERY single piece of costume was made with the intent of 'hmmm what does this symbolises and tell about the characters motivation???' it makes the costume so repetitive. Yeah yeah I get it Cersei wears black now cuz power or whatever. Tell me why you don't dress her in RED which is her house color and can give out the message of her being into power by imposing her house symbol and RED IS STILL A POWERFUL COLOR TOO.

Also sorry not sorry but the dresses all look so cheap and strangely kind of washed out. Sansa's purple dress was... fine but where is her lovely blues and greens? Cersei should be bedecked in dripping jewels and rich embroidery whenever she comes on screen. I don't watch medieval inspired shows and movies much but the best dress in GOT looks poor af in comparison with other shows and movies

i'm definitely not a costume expert, much like everything else i talk about i am just a hater with an internet connection and a job that enables my fixations on random subjects lmao. i think black leather can be used well but it can't be everyone wearing it. like my favorite show, farscape, really leans into the black leather look for the main character, crichton, and his partner, aeryn sun, and the villain/pet bad guy scorpius, especially in later seasons. but notably there's several characters who consistently wear really bright costumes like D'argo, Sikozu, Chiana, and the black leather makes sense for crichton, aeryn, and scorpius being that the second two are peacekeepers who are like Fascist Allegory so they lean into the black and red aesthetic, and crichton is a human who looks like the main Fascist Species, so the only clothes he gets are often peacekeeper cast offs (something they discuss often in the show as a matter of fact!). there's just TEW MUCH of it in got. and i agree, i think it's not so much the embroidery or colors being bad as it is they use those ugly ass filters to visually differentiate between the different areas even tho like. moroccco and iceland look nothing alike!! so you lose a lot of really great details under that ugly haze.

oooo but see george is also putting symbolizism into the outfits!! like cersei's revenge dress with the rubies for example! or sansa wearing tully blue to meet with bronze yohn. another thing is that, for example, pink was a more masculine color because it was associated with blood, so for roose, wearing a cape of pink with droplets of blood, that is a STATEMENT, ya know? or how joffrey will frequently wear lannister colors over baratheon ones, or mix baratheon and lannister colors. you're even doing symbolism in that last part - cersei wearing red because it's her house color, it's a targaryen house color and she idolizes rhaegar, and it sets her apart from robert! i think the problem is again, michele had such a narrow definition of power that it made all her later outfits so samey - but that's similar for like half the bts stuff on got lmao, they had such a narrow definition of power, it's why Dany's story is so chopped up, it's why Sansa is melded into Jeyne Poole, it's why Jon Snow is turned into an action hero instead of his canon storyline, etc.

Okay @sweatyflytrap asked for my final opinion on the one piece live action and I have a lot of things to say as always so I'm making a post.

Light, unspecific spoilers, but well.

First of all it's not bad. But also it's not good. I don't feel excited about it, but I didn't have as much of a hard time watching it than I thought. Except the first episode. I spent the first episode messaging all my friends about how ugly it looked.

About the story adaptation :

Some changes they made I understand, because the East Blue Saga is overall pretty rough in terms of rhythm and also kinda unthetered to how the story develops later on. Of course, it's very important and necessary as far as world building and putting the crew together go, but none of the more long term plotlines are there yet, or at least you don't know that they are, and that doesn't really work with live action tv shows or it makes them look like sitcoms. They had to introduce some more middle- long- term stuff to let people see that there are bigger things happening that are worth keeping up with the series. But it feels kinda weird when you've been reading and watching the manga and anime for fucking ever. Spoils some stuff that were big moments in the original story. But again : understandable.

Some other changes I just. Don't. What. Some were weird, some confused me, some were uncalled for and honestly kinda pissed me off (re: Usopp, iykyk).

One thing I was happy about is that there is, just like in the manga, some clever, more or less obvious, foreshadowing. Well played.

About the characters :

I saw a lot of people being very happy about the cast, I... Have doubts. I'm kinda sad some of them lose important character design aspects although I understand it would have been difficult to make them look like they're drawn. Usopp without his long nose is ??? I mean it's inherent to who he is so taking that away takes away from his characterisation for me. Also is Sanji really Sanji without the curly eyebrows? I like Nami, I think she's played by a good actress as well. She's the one who felt the more solid to me. Zoro looks okay, I kinda hate how they turned him into some edgy vocal-fried annoyed teenager but well. Hopefully he'll gain more depth as we go. Hopefully they all do. We've barely seen them yet.

Now Luffy... I mean it's tricky, obviously. I just don't understand his character in the LA tbh because he's supposed to be super naive and carefree and not very smart, and sometimes he is, and at other times he says elaborate things that don't match up. Seeing him more or less seriously plan and strategise at times is intensely OOC and really took me out of it. Also it would always have been difficult to translate in LA but I find his smile very sinister at times. Overall, because he's sometimes smarter than he's supposed to be and because of that smile, you get the idea that he's acting stupider than he actually is and it gives the impression he's more calculated and manipulative than happy-go-lucky. I can't really read him well. He feels weird.

And I sure hope they get a better wig and lenses budget in the future but seeing how the Witcher characters look in their third or whatever season I highly doubt it. Seeing them with shitty synthetic dry AF hair really really takes me out of it. I cannot possibly take Shanks seriously when that's what he looks like. Don't even get me started on Mihawk. Also I've posted about this before but why in hell did they turned tall glass of water future daddy Ben Beckmann into a short jowly pot-bellied 50yo? I'm sad. AND don't try to convice me that Alvida is ugly because what the hell. Please take me on a date, I will definitely tell you you're beautiful. Also not a problem but why the fuck is Garp Welsh?

Another issue I have discussed with friends is Sanji's characterisation. Obvi they couldn't make him as creepy as he is in the manga and anime where he's straight-up harassing women but this very central aspect of his personality is almost completely lost in the LA which makes him seem very weird. It makes it difficult to understand how he acts towards Nami at times, when they're supposed to be one of the most well-matched duos in the crew. In parallel, LA Zoro and Nami have sexual tension for zero reason. Their chemistry works much better than Nami and Sanji's at this point. It's fixable in the next seasons but in this one it's kinda weird when you know their characters.

About the production :

Okay so one thing I will say without any further "but" is that Sanji's and especially Zoro's fighting scenes look very good. They're well choregraphed, and badass, and dynamic.

Luffy's fighting scenes are bad though. The gomu gomu fruit abilities look bad. He barely uses them most of the time (I guess it's costly and difficult to create visually). He looks weak, and slow. The rhythm is terrible. Also it's difficult to see him sometimes use gomu gomu to be rubbery and thus fully flexible and sometimes see the actual actor jump and bend like a more or less normal person, thus lacking the elasticity Luffy is supposed to have. It's like sometimes the rubber ability is activated and sometimes not and he just becomes a normal human being. I fully understand that it's not realistic to half animate him all the time to make it fit but again, it was very noticeable to me.

I also struggle with the overall vibe of the LA. Some things feel overly childish, like all the discourse around dreams etc. It is there in OP though, it is generally key in shōnen, no problem. But at the same time, it's quite violent and sinister at times. Buggy is scary af, he feels incredibly creepy. Which is also fine, the OP world is violent and weird. But it doesn't look that violent and weird when it's drawn. The juxtaposition of the child-like, naive, idealistic themes and the creepiness is a bit confusing to me. I'm trying to think who's the target for this aside from the obvious OP fans. It seems a bit too grotesque for children, and it feels a bit too "✨the power of friendship✨" for teens and adults. But well. It was the case in the manga as well initally and it got darker and more serious with time so whatever, I'll reserve judgement.

Conclusion :

I still don't know what to think because I started with loads of questions and now I just have even more. Mostly about how they intend to adapt the rest of it. Are they gonna buy their wigs and lenses elsewhere than Claire's? What the fuck is Chopper gonna look like? What about Brooks? Are they gonna make Ace and Law ugly as well? Because if so I might burn Netflix's headquarters for ruining them for me. Is Luffy gonna get better at fighting or do they intend for Zoro and Sanji to do most of the work forever? Is Bon Clay gonna be extremely offensive or are they somehow gonna manage to make him tasteful without ruining him? Is he gonna be there at all? I mean I could go on and on.

Anyway, as I was saying it's not bad, but it's not good. I think it works much better for people who haven't seen or read OP yet.

Max naturally wants to be Eowyn and dresses up with one of the costumes that includes a sword. Lucas obliges her request to go as Faramir. Although they're not dressed as Aragorn and Arwen, Max takes advantage of her sword and sneaks up behind Lucas all night and repeatedly asks, "What's this, a ranger caught off his guard?" Everyone loves it.

Dustin considered Gimli but went with Gandalf instead after Will ditched the idea. Dustin loves his hats, what else can I say?

El is growing out her hair and doesn't like wearing wigs since s1, so she leans into her natural curls and goes with Samwise. She likes that he's such a good friend. 🙂

Annoyed af you make your way back home

Unlocking the door, you’re greeted with some ‘all I want for Christmas’ and the apartment being all dark, just illuminated with the sparkling Christmas lights 

“Osamu?” You call out for him walking through the apartment, the music getting louder and louder 

Opening the door to your living room, you’re greeted with the sight of Osamu, dressed in a sexy butler costume, his torso completely revealed, and a bow around his neck 

“Sit down my love.” He says and pulls out one of the chairs for you

Episode Three

First of all...what the fuck was that challenge. And what the fuck was the logic to judging it?! I spent so much of this episode just being confused. I think it would have been so much better if they were allowed to come up with their own ideas and characters, instead of having this really narrow space to work in; that was bizarre to me. Like Just Jan could have done a really delusional, high energy character who was the worst singer in the world; that would have been funny! Instead they stuck them with these bizarre storylines that made no sense, and had very little humour in them. Idk whose choice that was but it was a choice. Anyway, let's get into the rundown!

1. Aiden Zhane

I am not living for Aiden at all. Her attitude in both episodes has let a lot to be desired for me. And also, that runway? What was that? I could buy that dress on Asos, glue some bows to it and have that look. The concept was cool, the bows falling on her? Cool idea. But if you're going to do that then you need to Do It, yknow? Like it would have been cool if she'd had a huge wig completely made of bows. Or if she'd had an umbrella and made it look like it was raining bows, or something, that could have been really cool! It could have been amazing and she took a really easy way out. Disappointing. And her performance was dull. She deserved to be in the bottom more than Nicky Doll.

The only thing I will say for Aiden in this episode is the way Brita and Redacted behaved towards her was really uncool. They did that whole "you didnt lead us at all", and then told her that they carried her? You know that if she had led them they would have totally thrown her under the bus and said "well we do this professionally and we wanted to do this, but she was the leader and she made us do that". It was totally a damned if you, damned if you don't; and that was really unfair.

2. Brita

Guys, I am Bored of Brita. I am over it, and I am underwhelmed. I haven't seen anything from her that I've enjoyed! Her looks have been dull, she's not that funny, and I dont like the way she behaves (like I said with Aiden). She wont be next to go home, but hopefully she wont be long.

3. Crystal Methyd

STOP TRYING TO CHANGE CRYSTAL METHYD! I'm so sick of them going "oh her makeup is always the same", when it has been different each time!! She has a style and a brand, but it's not the same face!! Aiden Zhane does the same fucking face, none of them have picked that out! Loads of queens come in and they only have one face! Not mentioning any names Silky Nutmeg Ganache and Roxxxy Andrews. They got away with it because they were beauty mugs and that's the type of drag this show is biased towards. Crystal Methyd is an artist, let her do herself! That runway look was ugly though. Having said all that. Her face was gorgeous, I loved her makeup, I just thought that look wasnt very her! It didn't suit her somehow, it wasn't right. But she tried really hard during the improv, and I think she did a passable job! She honestly should have been safe, fight me. I just really hope she doesn't change herself to please the judges bc she has such a great vision and point of view, and I don't want her to lose sight of how great she is.

4. Dahlia Sin

Dahlia, Dahlia, Dahlia. Speaking of being underwhelmed, am I right? I had such high hopes for Dahlia, but this week she just didn't pull anything out. I personally think the fruit sketch was really funny, but it would have been exactly the same if Dahlia hadn't been in the group. She was so focused on being ~sexy~ (which is tough in a broccoli costume), that she forgot about everything else. Plus her bows and buttons look was just...odd. from the neck up it had this very avant garde, couture feel, but the outfit itself just looked unfinished. And then to have this weird arse peekaboo thing? Really weird choice. She deserved to be in the bottom and, after that lip sync, she deserved to go home.

I have seen a lot of posts about Dahlia "storming out", and I genuinely don't understand what they're talking about? Like, okay, she didn't say anything before she walked off, does that really constitute storming off? If she'd walked off while Ru was still talking, or if she'd yelled/screamed/sworn, then sure, maybe - but from what I saw she was just upset and wanted to leave as fast as possible. Idk, also they haven't released Untucked on the UK Netflix, so maybe there was more I didnt see.

5. Gigi Goode

I live for Gigi so much. I mean come on! Her character in the improv was passed out half the time and still had presence! She's so funny, and she's not afraid to let loose and get ugly. I think she did a good job in the improv, especially for someone without all that much experience, and her look on the runway was incredible. Solid 8/10 for Gigi this week.

6. Heidi N Closet

Heidi was robbed. I bought everything Heidi was selling this week. I bought it, I didn't stream it, I didn't rent it from the Netflix, I bought it. She was so funny during the challenge; the flipper? She spat out? Iconic. She had me dying the whole time, her, Jackie Cox and Gigi Goode should have their own series, I'd watch the hell out of it. Then she came bouncing down the runway as glitter Pinnochio, and she told that story about when she was at school and I loved every second! Shes so charming, and loveable, and relatable, and Jaida Essence Hall must have been gagged when she was top 2. She was robbed, she should have won, and she should keep her name! That whole thing with "the mouth has to change shape and it's not satisfying to say"? Bullshit, utter bullshit bitch. Heidi N Closet 4lyf.

7. Jackie Cox

Jackie made me so happy this week! Their whole group was hilarious, but Jackie doing the bad ventriloquist act just sent me, I loved it. And she just seems like the sweetest person as well! Her runway look was gorgeous, I loved the reference, her makeup was absolutely stunning, Jackie Cox is seriously the whole package. Her and Heidi should have been top 2 together.

8. Jaida Essence Hall

Jaida came in looking like a pageant queen, but she seriously flexed her comedy muscles this week! Her "bad apple" was hilarious, and she really committed to it! She was a firm leader in the group, but she was a good team player in the scene, she let everyone else have their moment too, and it was a good performance! I was a little bit disappointed that her runway look was very very similar to her spring mini challenge look from last week, but it was still a good look, and honestly I probably wouldnt have noticed if it hadn't been one episode after the other. She has shown a lot of diversity already, I think she just set the bar so high last week that I was really expecting something incredible, and I got something that was "just" good instead. She's still one to beat at the moment!

9. Jan

Jan made me so proud this week!! She was really funny in the skit, she had so much energy and enthusiasm, I loved it! Her jokes were funny, she picked a solid character and played it well, and can we talk about the runway though??? I really expected her to come out in something cute, because her personality is so bubbly and instead she gave me horror high fashion, monster couture and she Sold. Every. Second. It was a total transformation from the challenge to the runway and that, at the heart of it, is what I love about drag; that transformation aspect is just art to me. For me, Jan has it all. She definitely should have been top 3 this week. I think she's served the best runways so far, and I cannot wait to see what she does next week.

10. Nicky Doll

Okay, you guys know I love Nicky Doll. This week was not a good week for her. I appreciate that improv must be so hard in your second language, but I think she suffered a little bit from Dahlia Syndrome: she was so focused on staying pretty that she didn't really deliver anything. I kind of wish her character had literally just been French and spoke no English - part of the joke could have been that language barrier and Crystal/Window not understanding a word she said and her getting more and more frustrated about it. That could have been really funny. Also, her runway look...I know where she was going with it, it was a cool concept, and it was executed okay, there was just something missing, you know? It felt a little bit rushed, and again there was this real focus on being ~pretty~. Maybe if she'd looked a little more Cinderella ish, like her makeup wasn't perfect, and her hair was tied up like she was actually sewing, it would have sold me a little more character. I'm not sure, everything was just a little off for me this week, but I still think she's fierce af, and we all stumble sometimes. I'm looking forward to seeing her get back on her feet next week!

11. Rock M Sakura

Rock M was picked last for the challenge, I could not believe it. She deserved better than that, I was shook. She definitely picked the right group though, she was really funny as the Orange! She looked like she was having fun, and that's what I love about Rock M, is that I have fun watching her have fun. Her jokes were great, she matched Jan's energy, and I think she did a good job. I loved her runway look as well, the Alice in Wonderland concept was great, and I love that she kept the dress pretty simple so that the focus was on her hair and makeup! Her makeup was gorgeous, and the detail of the buttons on her face was stunning! It was a great concept, well executed, this week was a great week for Rock M, and I'm going to be furious if she gets picked last again.

12. Widow Von Du

Widow is getting The Edit. The edit that queens of colour who are talented get, where they paint them as bitchy, or loud, or as stepping on the other girls' toes; so that the audience isn't too pussed off when they get eliminated. Widow is exceedingly talented, and funny, and filled with personality. She also serves looks and delivers incredible performances. I will not let this edit take that away from her. She did great this week. She delivered everything I ordered in the challenge and more, she completely transformed for the runway, and she sold me a great presentation. Widow is definitely one to beat.

Improvement-Ideas for Splatoon 2 (Opinion Alert!!!)

This game is amazing, just like the first. And it definitely deserves all the praise and love it gets. However, I still believe this game has plenty of problems, that could be improved on. Because as fun as it can be, it can just as well be frustrating and morale crushing... Depending on what people you end up playing with and against... So first up, here is my list of problems I have with the game.

Problems with Regular Mode (Turf War)

Since Turf Wars is described as a casual mode, that anyone can pick up and play, it should also be the easiest to get into. And in a way it is, with an objective that is very easy to grasp. Just paint as much as you can and you win... But unfortunately, it's not as simple as that...

- Turf Wars IMO is the hardest mode of them all! That may sound surprising, but in my experience, I had by far the hardest time with Turf Wars. While I had a much easier and fairer time with Ranked. Why is that? Well the biggest reason is that Ranked Modes focus on one of two areas on the map (Clam Blitz kinda being an exception, with clams being scattered everywhere). But Turf Wars in universal: The entire map is the objective, rather than a few select parts of it. You have to stay vigilant at all times, since the opposition can be literally anywhere. With Ranked you can make a pretty good guess where the opposition is headed. But not in Turf Wars... Secondly, the tides can turn at the last minute, even if your team was ahead the entire time. (And most of the time, that's exactly what happens, at least in my experience) And thirdly, kills are effective. Perhaps even too effective. Giving players with superior skills an undeniable edge over beginners and other not quite as skilled players... And that's why a lot of people go for kills and try to completely lock the other team down. Which is incredibly infuriating when you're at the receiving end of it. And the maps don't really offer much in terms of sneaking around. Which sucks... So if you're up against godlike players and they completely lock you down, you might as well throw the game... It's not fun, believe me... - Matchmaking is random What Nintendo (and a whole lot of other people) sees as a good thing, ends up being a dealbreaker for me and many other people... And it's easily my biggest gripe with this mode. What players you're matched with and against, is all just a roll of the dice. Aka completely luck-based. And as such, winning or even your team just doing well enough, become mostly luck-based as well. And if you're having real bad luck (like yours truly), you lose most of the time and question your life choices... Either because the matchmaking decided to match you with teammates that are far less skilled than you or you are straight thrown into arctic water, by matching you against players that are so far above your skill level, that you stand no chance against... Sometimes even the two combined... It's really aggravating, when the dice roll results are so unbalanced. - Turf Wars is a little too winning-oriented I still remember the days of early Splatoon 1, where you simply had to get as many Turf Points as possible, to do well. Losing didn't matter, since winning only net you 300 extra points back then. The bulk of the points (and thus your money and EXP) came from your Turf Score. And I believe this is how Turf Wars worked best and it truly was a casual mode, where losing really didn't matter all that much. Unfortunately, with the update that added the New Level Up System post level 20 and now with the adoption of the same system in Splatoon 2, that is a thing of the past. You only need to reach 500 Turf Points to get the most points possible from the Turf Score. And you get the most EXP points for winning. And I believe that is why Turf Wars became so frustrating to play. After that update, you could see nothing but E-Liters in Splatoon 1 Turf Wars. And since E-liters were completely broken in that game, Turf Wars became impossible to play and enjoy, if you used any other weapon than that. And even in Splatoon 2, people became really aggressive and focus mostly on kills and base invading. Since that wins the game. And I am pretty sure, if Nintendo wouldn't have changed the Level Up System like that and stuck with the original all the way, people wouldn't be so tryhard in that mode.

Problems with Splatfest

- Toxicity I made a whole Tumblr-Post about it once. Link: https://paragon-yoshi.tumblr.com/post/175961272304/toxicity-in-splatfest-revised But to summarize: I believe Marina and Pearl act way too toxic during Splatfests (at least in the localization, since in the original japanese version they apparently don't act nearly as obnoxious). And it mirrors the toxicity coming from the players, as far as I have seen. Not to mention it makes the Splatfest a much more serious deal, than it needs to be... - Same problems as normal Turf Wars All the same problems from normal Turf Wars can be found here. You may think matchmaking would be the only exception, with the "Splatfest Power" system. Though even with it, it seemed just as random, which is a shame... Because the concept of Splatfest Power definitely goes into the right direction.

Problems with Salmon Run

- Not available at all times.< Okay, this is something nearly everyone complains about. So enough said here... - Being unable to use your normal clothes I HATE the working attire that Salmon Run forces on you. It's UGLY! I'd much rather use my preferred clothes from normal PvP.

Other Problems

- The game doesn't let you play with more or less than 8 players in a match Looking at other online shooters, pretty much all of them let you play with different amounts of players, rather than forcing a set number on you. (Let alone being able to enter and exit mid-game) I get that Nintendo wants to be original and likes to do things their own way. But in this case, I really wish they would've done it the same way other online shooters did. I believe we wouldn't be stuck in "Waiting Room Hell" nearly as much, if the game was more flexible with the number of people that can play at a time... - Abilities being locked to Clothes Clothes should be cosmetics first, period! And I don't believe it was a good idea to lock Abilities behind clothes. And it very often creates a dilemma to me. Since the clothes I really like, often have abilities I have no use for. While clothes with good abilities for me, often look ugly AF. So yeah, enough said here...

How Splatoon 2 could be improved

Let's tackle the small fry first...

Improving Cosmetics and Abilities

- Separate Clothing and Abilities I'd make Clothing completely cosmetic, while Abilities have their own slot-system. It could work the very same way as they work now, just without the clothes. And instead of buying clothes for abilities, you would buy... Let's say, Badges or something like that.

- Add more Clothing categories Like this: - Head (Hats, Caps, Headbands, Bandanas...) - Face (Glasses, Masks, Facepaint...) - Body (Shirts, Coats, Sweaters, Jackets...) - Wrists (Bracelets, Watches, Sweatbands...) - Hands (Gloves) - Legs (Pants, Dresses, Skirts...) - Feet (Shoes, Boots, Sandals...) - Accessories (Necklaces, Rings, Vests, Wigs...) Obviously that would mean, for example, Gloves are seperate from Body Gear now. As well as allowing you to wear Hats and Glasses at the same time. - Adding new customization options for your Inkling/Octoling Adding the following options would really perfect the character creation in my eyes: - Face (not just the eyes) - Voice - Height - Body Type (Skinny, Fat, Muscular, etc.) So people would be able to re-create their Inksona's much more accurately in-game... :3

Improving Salmon Run

- Unlockables: Normal PvP Clothes for Salmon Run and Salmon Run Work Clothes for PvP Unlock the Work Clothes as equippable cosmetics for other modes. And at the same time, from the moment you unlock them, you will always play Salmon Run with the clothes you have equipped. If you want your Work Clothes back, simply equip them to play the old-fashioned way. Both unlock after you reach a certain Rank in Salmon Run! - Make Salmon Run playable online, even when main shifts are closed. The logic behind this is: When Grizzco is closed, Inklings and Octolings can still work on their own and sell the Eggs they collect. This'd be a great way to make Salmon Run playable at all times, even when Grizzco is not available. However, it'd play a little differently... - You'd be able to freely pick your weapon. And it wouldn't change in-between waves. - Difficulty is still dependant on your rank. But it won't change. If you win, it won't increase. If you lose, it won't go down. - Players vote for stages and the game then randomly picks the stage from the voted options (Like Mario Kart 8 online picks tracks) - You only get cash at the end. Nothing else! - Since Mr. Grizz isn't around when you work on your own, there'll be no one to order you around or give you advice! So basicly, when Grizzco is open (which right now is the only time you can play Salmon run) it'd play as usual. But when Grizzco is closed, the above mentioned changes are in effect, until they open again.

Improving PvP Modes

- Make Ranked Mode available from the start Aka, no longer having to unlock Ranked by reaching level 10. You can jump straight into competitive, if you want. This actually goes hand in hand with the more drastic changes I suggest, further down. - Ability to play with more or less than 8 players AT THE VERY LEAST FOR REGULAR MATCHES! Like I said, being able to play with different amounts of players would greatly cut the time we spend waiting for a lobby to fill up. It works well for all other online games of this kind. So why shouldn't it in Splatoon as well? And the ability to enter a match mid-battle, could easily fix uneven teams in a match. Plus, if teams are uneven, I'd like to have some "handicap effect" in place, giving the outnumbered team a boost in some way, until it's even again. The greater the difference in numbers between teams, the higher the boost. - Allow players to create "Custom Lobbies" with their own rules Essentially this would revise the current "Private Battle", give it more options to customize your game, as well as the choice to either make it public or friends only. Obviously you could join any open lobby from a list of available lobbies, if you want to join a custom game, rather than create one. The host of the lobby would set the rules. Like choosing maps and Game Mode. In this regard it'd work exactly like Private Battle does now. But it'd offer far more options for the host to customize their game: - Time Limit (so you can play Turf Wars for longer or less than 3 minutes of you want. Same with Ranked and their 5 minutes) - Maximum Number of Players - Respawn Time - Ink Capacity - Damage/Life - Abilities On/Off - Items On/Off etc. This would allow for some much needed diversity, allowing you to play the familiar modes in very different ways... Lastly, I'd still allow EXP and Money to be obtained from this (at least if it's a public lobby). One possible concern some of you might have, is that if the Time Limit is ridiculously high (like 30 minutes for example), you'd have to sit through the whole thing. Well no, you wouldn't. Since other online games of this nature allow you to enter and exit mid-game. So that very same option would allow you to leave at any time. Of course, the downside is that you won't receive any EXP or Money, if you don't play the match until the end. And now we're getting to the changes for Regular Mode (and Splatfests) As far as I can see, there are two ways to improve it. One very simple way and one drastic way, that changes Regular Mode in some significant ways... The simple way is: - Make "Splatfest Power" a feature for normal Turf Wars This would be the easiest way to fix the issue of unbalanced match-up's in Turf Wars. Since, if it works as intended, there'd at least be some sort of balance between players and their skills. It wouldn't be perfect, but IMO it's better than nothing. But like I said, there is another, more drastic way to go about it. And I am sure some people will lose their mind and want to see me on a chopping block for coming up with these ideas. (If there's anything I learned, it's that people don't like big changes. Especially if it's a game changer!) I'll be blunt: I believe Splatoon would be better, and appeal to much more people, if it were half Party-Game and half Competitive Game! The key to this lies in the "Regular/Ranked Split" Make "Regular" the "Party Side" of Splatoon, for casual players who want to have good old fun. While "Ranked" would be the fully "Competitive Side" of Splatoon, where you need to have superior skills to come out on top. While the, above mentioned, "Custom Lobby" feature would allow players to customize their games, and give their matches the best of both worlds maybe. Or turn their games into something different... If you wonder why I would do it like this... Well, have a look at this informative reddit post, that talks about Party Games and Competitive Games. Link: https://www.reddit.com/r/smashbros/comments/281eja/why_smash_is_a_party_game_and_what_the_melee/ It's about Smash Bros (and quite a lengthy read), but a lot of the points there should apply to any game! And you might understand why I'd vouch for the following changes... - Add items to Regular! Let me stress this one more time: REGULAR MODE ONLY! ITEMS WOULD NOT BE IN ANY RANKED MODES!!! This system isn't even new, since the Battle Dojo from the first game, actually had items! Items from Single Player and Octo Expansion (adjusted for Multiplayer) would appear here. And they would appear all over the stage. It'd have items such as "Battle Armor", along with the ability to stack armors for more durability... "Ink Tanks" that refill your ink, as well as temporarily increase your Ink Capacity... "Canned Subs" to swap out your Sub Weapons, until you get splatted... "Canned Specials" giving you instant access to the depicted Special Weapon... The "Full Power Up" from the first game's Battle Dojo, increasing all of your stats for a short time... On top of that, I could imagine some specials from the previous game returning in item-form. And maybe some original items. Such as temporary upgrades like "Spread Shot", "Rebound Shots" or "Homing Shots". Items would mostly appear randomly. But when a team is at a disadvantage or player imbalances are detected, items would spawn more closely to the players/teams at a disadvantage. Again, I stress: ONLY REGULAR MODES WOULD HAVE ITEMS! Ranked on the other hand wouldn't have them. So if you loathe items and random chance in games, just play Ranked and be happy. Or make your own "Custom Lobby" and turn them off! And since I mentioned the Battle Dojo from the first game so many times... - Revise Battle Dojo from the first game and make it a new Regular mode I really believe "Balloon Battle" from the first game would make a really good new Regular mode. Just like it was in the first game, the objective would be to pop as many balloons as possible and rack up points. You lose points if you get splatted and whoever has the most points, wins! But of course, there'd be some changes: - Obviously, it'd be a team mode now. So now the points of every team member are added up for the Team Score. And the team with the higher Team Score wins. If there's a draw, there'd be overtime, until one team takes the lead. - Add balloons with multiple colors that are worth more points The normal balloons would earn you 1 point for every one you pop. However, this game would also have balloons with multiple colors, which are worth more points. Of course, the more points a balloon is worth, the less often it appears. - Balloons would spawn more frequently and in multiple areas all over the map If you are one of the few people, who ever got to play the Battle Dojo in the first game, I think you might remember how it works. There is an area marked on the map and balloons will spawn there after some time. But in this mode, the balloons would spawn much faster, instead of having to wait for like 10 to 20 seconds for them to spawn. Also, balloons would also now appear in multiple areas all over the map, instead of just one area. And also in different intervals. So it'd be much more chaotic now. Turf Wars is all alone in the Regular mode. It's time to add a new Regular mode for once, instead of giving all the new modes to Ranked only. Of course, since it would be a new Regular mode, it'd also have items. - Splatfest Ranking and Scoring The way you'd rank up and thus earn Sea Snails, I'd do a little differently. Again, I think it is too winning-oriented. Instead, while winning is one way to earn points for your title, I'd add more things that can earn you points. Like helping out a teammate, splatting enemies that fire at your teammate, assisting in a splat, Booyahing together in the first 10 seconds of a match. These things would net you more points towards your title. So ultimately it's not so much about winning during Splatfest, as it is about sticking together and working as a team. Performing teamwork actions would actually reward you more, than just winning the match. And it'd perfectly work with the team-mentality of Splatfest. An "Alternate Way" to handle this would be to ditch the Splatfest leveling altogether and instead collect "Splatfest Tokens". You earn Splatfest Tokens after every match, depending on how much turf you inked, whether or not your team won and by performing various teamwork actions during the game, like the aforementioned examples. Again, you would get the most rewards out of working well as a team and not for winning. You could spend Splatfest Tokens at a vending machine for Sea Snails, Ability Chunks, unique gear or Food/Drink Tickets (which you could freely pick even). You know funfair's in real life, where you can win tokens and exchange them for various rewards? Yep, that was my main inspiration for this alternate idea for Splatfests. And it's very fitting in my eyes. ;) And that's it! That's all the ideas I have that could really make Splatoon 2 better. Or maybe even a possible sequel. If you want a polite discussion, I'm all for it. Thotyssey: Magenta, hello! Thanks for chatting today! How was the Janelle Monae party / show at the Rosemont which you performed in last night? Magenta: It was fucking cute, gorl! But honestly, Rosebud is always a good-ass time every time I do it, so I can never complain.

How are you liking Janelle's new music?

I'm kinda like super into it; there's so many good songs on Dirty Computer. It's definitely an important work with some bops! I think the Rosemont drag shows (and maybe most of the newer BK shows in general) are interesting, because instead of one queen performing for an hour and a half with a guest or two, it's now a whole bunch of queens coming up and turning it for a number or two each. Do you think that makes a better show, or just a different experience? I think it's a different yet fun experience, cuz when you get a couple girls, you really have a show. Not everyone could be feeling the same way, and not everyone is the same performer, so shows throughout the night are so different with each performer.

You've already had an interesting career, as you kinda started out as a Manhattan girl, doing those weekly competition shows like Star Search and Drag Wars. Are you now a Brooklyn Gurl all the way?

I did start in the comps. But after a while you start to look for your group of people, and Brooklyn is just where I believe I fit in. And yeah, if anyone asks me I say Ima BK Gorl.

Where are you actually from?

Okay, so I'm a very proud Bronx bitch. But like, race-wise, I'm Puerto Rican.

Before drag, what were you into?

My creative interest have been art, fashion and performance since I was a kid... which probably isn't hard to believe, lol.

Definitely not! Was RuPaul’s Drag Race you're first exposure to drag?

It was! Season 4, and it was before I had came out and my Mom was like, “lol, look at this show,” and I was like omg yasssss.

What was your first in-drag experience like, out on the town?

I was 15 back in high school on Halloween, with a Party City wig on that one of my friends managed to pull into a high pony. And I woke up at, like, 6 for my mom to paint me for the day ..BUT I WAS FISH.

It’s amazing that your mom was so supportive of you at that young age! 

Yeah, she's super supportive. She was even in my Mr(s) BK finale performance.

It must make you happy to see all these pre-teen queens with their own supportive parents that are in the mix these days. 

Yeah, the younger girls doing drag and being supported makes me happy because it just shows that throughout all the shit we go through as a world, we still are growing as people and becoming more accepting to all things... and not just what we think is "normal."

Amen! By the way, is magenta your favorite color, or was it just a cool sounding name to you?

Well, originally magenta was an ugly color to me. But like, having it as a name really kinda changes your opinion. Also, it's an important ass-color when it comes to computers and shit. So I guess now it's my fave.

How would you describe yourself as a queen to the initiated, as far as how you perform and your aesthetic?

I think look-wise, I'm very on-trend: fashion forward, but make it “hoe.” And performance, I'd say “high-energy dance moments.”

And berets are your Thing?

Berets are, like, my fave accessory.

Is it fair to say that your drag comes from the same universe as The Haus of Aja?

What they do is similar to what I do. But I'm the best drag ever, so no one's like me, lol!

You and Dove had a show at the Gateway for a bit, “Game Ovahh.” What was that experience like, and what are your thoughts on the venue's recent closing?

Well, Dove is probably my closest friend in the world, so being able to do that with her was honestly so great. We always had a great time, plus we were and remain sickening AF, so it was altogether a fun time. And towards the end of “Game Ovahh,” me and the Gateway’s relationship got a little shaky. But it is still very unfortunate, and I hope they get on their feet again soon.

[Ed. note: it seems that the Gateway management has recently and quickly settled its eviction issues, and the venue has reopened.]

You mentioned Mr(s) BK earlier; how did you enjoy that pageant experience?

It was magical, honestly. It was hands down the best show I’ve ever been a part of, and Brooklyn has so much fucking fierce-ass talent.

And you'll be back in a Brooklyn pageant soon enough! Round 1 of the very first ever Mx. Mont Rose comedy drag pageant is this Thursday at the Rosemont! 

I think it's gonna be a really fun time. [Host] Crystal Mesh put it together, and shes got some funny-ass people. It's gonna be a shit show, but a good shit show.

I’ll admit it, I thought Morgan was a total bitch and I absolutely did not care for her.

HOWEVER, once she came back, and we got to see the other sides of her, I was like “wow, shame on me for completely and totally misjudging her”

Now I’m low key disappointed that she didn’t get more screen time

I would have loved to really see what she could bring

All in all I’m happy that she was able to get back into the spotlight and earn some hella respect from a whole new fan base ❤️

Thorgy Thor-

I absolutely love me some Thorgy Thor gurllll

I love how crazy and cucky she is, her whole vibe I totally dig it

I just wished she would believe in her self truly

I felt she spent so much time exerting so much energy into jealousy and paranoia that she didn’t really get a chance to shine for her true self.

And honestly I was like okay... when she won

Now that she was back, I do truly see why she was picked to be the very first winner of Drag Race

I did think she was a bit divalicious but who wouldn’t be in her position

I also love her love for her home country

It goes so well with her over all “brand” and what’s better than being absolutely proud of where you come from ?

Kennedy is a grumpy old man who just wants some lovin

I’ll be honest I felt like Kennedy was sort of a Roxy Andrews situation

There were many times where I felt she should have went home

However I can understand the struggles she’s had and in the end yes, I do truly believe she deserved a spot in the top 4

Top 2 ?? Ehhhhh, not at first I’ll be honest

But the more the eliminated queens and Kennedy herself talked about how all the other queens are basically so much more well out than she is, and how she kinda did need the win more than the other girls, the less mad I was

In the end I was like yeah, Kennedy does need this win, and even thou I am a die hard Trixie fan, I would have been absolutely 100% okay with Kennedy winning 🙌

I hope everyone gives her the proper love she deserves at DragCon as well as any other meet and greets

I just about had a heart attack when she was pick for the 2nd queen... I really did not think she was going to win... but I couldn’t be happier what she did... Her as3 journey was an emotional roller coaster tbh... I thought this season was going to be kinda like season 2 how it seems like it was made for Alaska... I thought this season was going to be made for Trixie... it really thru me off when she didn’t start off so strong... I also felt bad because she would always talk about how she felt like she was letting her fans down... I wanted to do nothing but shower her with love but I didn’t even realize what kind of pressure was set on her... I was legit worried for a bit that she would be eliminated... and tbh when Ben went home, I was low key relieved because I was like there is now way Trixie is going to win with Ben out her slaying every challenge.... 67. HEDWIG SWEETIE I AM SO SORRY

I AM SO SORRY THAT UGLY ASS BITCH WOULD EVEN SAY THAT OH MY GOD

Dit blog is gewoon een kleine recap van de muziekdelen van de aflevering (voor Marleen, hi!). Ik probeerde de hele aflevering te kijken maar a) het is mega dramatisch en ik kon het niet aan en b) mijn kennis van Riverdale is te klein om dit te volgen. Ik ken alleen de namen van de personages.

Riverdale is en blijft een beetje trashy TV en als je dat cool vindt, cool, go for it, enjoy! Maar uhm...

(Ik moet niet echt klagen, want op een bepaald moment riep ik: “deze trash storyline is gewoon glee!” Glee walked so Riverdale could run.)

Een paar dingen eerst. 

Eerst, het gezang van Riverdale is gewoon shit. There, I said it. En dan bedoel ik niet dat de acteurs niet kunnen zingen (they have a Cott), maar de overduidelijke editing en de autotune zorgt er gewoon voor dat het soms niet goed klinkt. Ik wist dit al, want ik heb ook de Carrie nummers en de Heathers nummers geluisterd. Als ik dus shit op het gezang, is het meer daarover. Zelfs Casey Cott klink niet echt geweldig in deze aflevering.

Tweede, ik heb nog wel iets meegekregen van storyline, dus ik kijk ook of het nummer in de storyline past. Dat deed ik bij glee. Bij glee had ik vaak 5 criteria: 1. keuze van het nummer, 2. verdeling van de stemmen, 3. toepassing van storyline, 4. of ik de glee versie gewoon leuk vind en 5. “glee feel”. Ja, ik was mega serieus over glee, dat weten jullie. 

Criteria 1 is simpelweg “shit”, want ik wilde niet dat deze serie Hedwig deed. Ik weet te weinig voor criteria 2, maar ik vond het wel heel irritant dat er veel groepsnummers waren, want dat was messy. Criteria 3 is meegenomen, maar er was ook een overkoepelende storyline dat Kevin Hedwig wilde doen, dus dat was een goed excuus om deze musical te doen. Criteria 4 is hier Riverdale versie en...“nee”, behalve Tear Me Down. Criteria 5 is hier niet nodig. 

Wow, dit werd langer dan verwacht. Maar ik zit ook in Sociologie en het is weer een mega lang voorbeeld...

Derde, why did I do this to myself?

Anyway, Hedwig in Riverdale recap:

Wicked Little Town: het begon best goed met alleen Jughead, maar het werd heel shit toen de rest begon te zingen. Dit bedoel ik met messy! Het idee dat Riverdale een “wicked little town” is, past wel bij de serie.

Random Number Generation: respect voor het feit dat ze dit nummer hebben gedaan, want het is het meest onbekende Hedwig nummer samen met Freaks. De dramatische storyline is mega cringe, maar het paste goed in de storyline.

Tear Me Down: GOOD SHIT ABSOLUTE GOOD SHIT CASEY COTT SHOULD BE THE NEW HEDWIG HE LOOKS GOOD THE OTHERS DRESSED AS THE TITS LOOK GOOD AS WELL THIS WAS JUST GOOD OKAY 10/10 WOULD WATCH AGAIN IT FULLY CAPTURES THE ESSENCE OF HEDWIG

Wig In A Box: hmmmm, gemengde gevoelens. Het gezang was niet echt goed en ook weer messy door de vele stemmen, maar de video was wel heel leuk en het was ook goed om te zien dat ze scènes van de filmversie erin verwerkt hebben (minus de bonte bh helaas), dus het was leuk om te zien, maar niet om te horen.

Sugar Daddy: ......... HEDWIG SWEETIE I AM SO SORRY. OH GOD, dit was slecht. Het gezang was slecht. Het paste totaal niet in de storyline. Het was weer een classic Riverdale “let’s heavily sexualise teenage girls for no reason” moment, maar nu met muziek! -10/10 would not watch again.

Exquisite Corpse: het wordt gebruikt als een break-up song en oké, dat begrijp ik. Dit is nu eenmaal het moment dat Hedwig haar breakdown heeft. Dit nummer is alleen heel anders vergeleken met de andere Hedwig nummers en ik vraag me af of het een goed idee was om dit nummer van alle nummers in de show te doen. Archie en Jugheads delen waren beter dan die van Betty en Veronica. Dat gezegd hebbende, ze hebben wel de pure chaos van Exquisite Corpse gebruikt dus dat vond ik wel cool.

The Origin of Love: mijn favoriete nummer en het begon eigenlijk best goed en voor de eerste keer in de aflevering klonk Betty oké... maar toen werden al die extra stemmen toegevoegd. Ik ben er niet aan gewend, want Hedwig is een solo show.  

Wicked Little Town reprise: Het gezang was meh, maar de storyline??? Waarom is dit zo romantisch? HET HELE PUNT VAN DIT NUMMER IS DAT HEDWIG’S OBSESSIE MET LIEFDE EN ZIELSVERWANTEN ZEER ONGEZOND EN SCHADELIJK IS. Ik weet niet of Riverdale slim genoeg is om dit als een “oh wow hun relatie wordt dus mega ongezond” manier te gebruiken, of dat ze het hele punt gemist hebben. I mean...

Midnight Radio: natuurlijk eindigen ze met Midnight Radio. Het was niet slecht, maar ik had het fijner gevonden als ze niet samen gingen zingen door elkaar heen. Helaas is het hele “Here’s to Patti...” gedeelte veranderd. En oh, al die momentjes tussen de personages laat me echt denken aan glee. Het was helaas niet de speciale closing song dat het had moeten zijn, maar het was dece. Het werd ineens afgekapt door een Jughead monoloog en ik vond het best wel jammer.

Overall thoughts: how’s Casey’s back doing after carrying this whole damn episode on his own?

Happy Hump Day, Team.

So I am here sipping on my coffee as if it was (T)ea and my mind is stirring like Al Roker was stirring his drink in Rio over the #Bellshyte of the Bold and Beautiful. You know, there is so much I want to give credit to about this show and just stick with the GOOD for the sake of Good Karma, but...there is so much Fvckery going on that shouldn't be left unsaid. I guess my Karma is gonna have to take a hit today because I am going to go with the Good, the Bad and the Ugly.

THE GOOD.

This #Quric vs #Qridge is giving me so much Delicious Soap Opera goodness. I personally ADORE #Quric! Eric and Quinn honestly do love each other. Their moments together are too cute! They are the prime example when you think Love would never happens, but it defies all Logic and it just happens. They are actually perfectly matched. Now, THEY are the Ying to each other's Yang. And it is also great to see John McCook in his element. He and Ms. Rena are an absolute joy to watch together. They actually make me smile, laugh and “Awww...” at them on screen. So with all of that enjoyment...why must I have #Qridge? But YES...I must have them! Oh Em Gee...this is what keeps you glued to the show! Ridge and Quinn have every reason NOT to happen, but you cannot help yourself from wanting this lustful affair to take place! I mean, the way they LOOK at each other is intoxicating! Rena's Quinn looks at Thorsten's Ridge the way most fans look at Thorsten with his many sexy alluring character portrayals throughout the years. I have always found Mr. Kaye to be as Sexy AF and Quinn is definitely giving him that “Boyyyy...” stare with Ridge signal a look back of “Wha cha wanna do?”! LOL I am so ready for them to just tear each other clothes off...and believe me, I see Quinn being the “Submissive” in this relationship! Lol And afterwards, I will feel so guilty and heartbroken when watching #Quric. Gawd these two relationships has me so TORN. #Perfection

Also in the Good category is Thomas being back with a legit chip on his shoulder. Yes, I am so happy that Thomas is ready to say “F this shyte! I can do bad all by myself!”, then take his Talent and exit out the building! I am glad somebody has put that Marone gene into good use! Go make your own way, Thomas! We got you, Boo! Seriously, y'all couldn't give my boy an Executive position with even a Broom Closet size office...Aw Hellz Naw! Thomas is spinning his wheels at FC, just wasting his Time, Effort and Talent. So I am looking forward to his Progressive Journey Onward and most likely with Spectra.

THE BAD.

Oh well...the Chump Change Donkey aka Dolla Bill is still begging. I don't know...maybe someone should start a Telethon to “Save Bill” because right now I wouldn't mind if the Black Mamba was to show up for a mercy “Kill Bill”. It is just that sad.

#Steam has turned into Lope 2.0. Yep, I know a lot of you are still #Steam fans and want this “Happy Ending” fairytale...but wasn't that what Lope was about? Not really dealing with their REAL ISSUES within their relationship and blaming other people for their problems? I mean, reminiscing over their weddings, yet not talking about the problems that ended them? Not even the fact that Liam asked for an Annulment of BOTH of them? Not addressing that the Man You Love thinks that You are a BabyKiller? Okay, Lope 2.0...have at it.

The New Spectras. Now having them come on board isn't what is Bad. I love the ideal of something of Spectra reappearing on the show. It's the STOOOPID way that they are being cast that is the problem. Really? Shirley and Sally Spectra. The NuSaul. And the biggest fvckery of them all...DARLITA. What? You couldn't get a “Dora” to sign up for this #Bellshyte? I guess being that it's a Hispanic female her name MUST MUST have a “ita” on the ending of it, right? How cute and clever. #Not  

Please have #Becky and #Chad step away from writing the scripts.
