Duck and Oliver the Great Western Engines

Happy birthday to the best boi! DUCK!!!

So I have a head canon that all engines have a section of wall in the sheds that is dedicated to all of their big achievements. It’s to help them feel better when their sad, but also to remember some highs. So I drew a small section of Duck’s wall.

Top left:

This is a picture of Duck and Stepney not long after they double headed the express after the class 40 diesel failed. I feel like Stepney and Duck’s friendship is often over looked. I head cannon that their drivers totally write letters for the other engines to read.

Top right:

This is a picture of Duck having a Great Western Railway conversation with his idol The City of Truro. I would have loved to hear their conversations.

Bottom left:

This is a picture of Donald with Dilly. I feel like it is often forgotten that Duck was very important in Donald acquiring Dilly. So Duck is clearly Dilly’s second father.

Bottom right:

This is a picture of Oliver and Duck on the Little Western. It didn’t become a real Little Western until Oliver joined Duck on the line. They have such an amazing dynamic together that I wish we had more stories about them too.

On the far right is a flag that Duck received from when he helped save a man in the regatta all those years ago. This feels like something Duck would have kept for all those years and smiles every time he sees it.

Look, it's the Little Western gang! :D Huzzah! The original concept for this piece was in September of last year, and this wip has been kicking around in my art folder ever since. And for the last few months it's been 2/3rds of the way done and just... sitting there LMAO But at last, it's finished! And I'm very happy with how it turned out in the end! :D

Backgrounds continue to be the bane of my existence, but hey, you can't get better if you don't try, right? And playing with the lighting and shadows was a lot of fun so it evens out in the end! First time drawing Oliver too! And I think he's looking v cute <3 I love all of these charries so much, and I'm sure this won't be the last y'all will see of any of them. xD (Though maybe I won't go quite so hard next time... we'll see LOL) Anyway, enjoy these funky lil trains! <3 Cuz I know I sure do! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Oliver, Donald, Douglas & Duck (c) TTTE Art (c) Me! <3

Could I have some wholesome Douglas x Oliver moment like the two of them cuddling in bed or kissing on the lips or why not both? Anyways, I really loved the escape fanfic adaptation and it was so beautiful. I loved it when Oliver but is arm onto Douglas shoulders and he blushes. Can’t wait for more. Have a nice day

The Adventures of Thomas-inspired Thomas AU designs

It started as a commisioner wanted me to make a Mechanical-Faced TAOT/Robots inspired Thomas design. After it went well on my other socials, I turned it into an AU.

What is Thomas and Friends Rebooted?

It is a reboot that embraces the mechanical and grounded heritage of the aesthetic and character designs by making the engines faces metal with hinged mouths and eyebrows to symbolize this reboot's choice to be as grounded as it can.

TTTE has so many possibilities for really good villains besides the usual snooty bully type or devious diesel. It's awesome. Here's some ideas I had!

What about an engine (Any type) that hates humans for what they did to their kind? All the scrapping and stuff? And he wants to hurt/kill as many humans as possible for payback, completely passing over the fact that engines and humans have a symbiotic relationship and need each other. And that not all humans are bad. Especially the ones on Sodor. It could also be a good gateway for addressing the trauma some engines have from the 1960s scrapping period.

Or how about a driver and engines villain team? Where they team up to do some huge crime that effects both humans and sentient machines?

ELECTRIC ENGINES. They're very under used! Have the diesels and steam engines come together to fight a new supposed enemy, only to find out that it's just one in particular that's villainous and the rest are rather nice. The engine types are usually competing against each other for the humans good graces, so this could be eye opening for them.

Super NATURAL ENGINES. Give Lady a rival that's not Diesel 10 and is instead an entirely new super natural engine to fight! And you don't have to stop there! Add more engines to the Pantheon and really flesh out The Magic Railroad in Lady's Realm!

More human villains. So far we've only had Sailor John. WE NEED MORE! (EDIT: And Baz and Bernie. I forgot about them.😅)

Bounty hunter engines that chase down runaway engines, like the diesels that chased Oliver and his crew! And make them REAL bounty hunters. Pull out all the stops. And have their crews involved as well! Maybe some of them are scrap yard workers!

I’ve had this blog for roughly 3 to 4 years and all this time I haven’t even thought of making these two boys interact?! This must be fixed at once!

Like I mentioned in that ask a few days ago, @asktrio516 is one of the many inspirations that made me do this silly and self indulgent au and without her amazing designs or my curiosity if there’s ttte human fanart never came to me; there would’ve been a rather huge possibility that I would not be here rambling right now. Mate? You’re absolutely amazing, strong and just extremely talented. Don’t let any weirdos or creepy freaks say otherwise.
