so going clockwise from the top right. the ones on the right, Mom got me off temu as part of my birthday present months ago. the ones on the left, I got last night along with the key. and then there's dice I got forever ago to the left of that, and my blue bag of runes in the background.
can't remember what the red is. green looks like jade, purple is amethyst, brown I assume is tiger's eye, and two small smooth pieces of quartz. it's missing lapis lazuli that threw itself down the drain the first night I shadowed a tour at the shop/ company I'm gonna be working with.
the rest on the left I got last night at a local witchy store. well, they appear to have expanded here to New Orleans but got their start in Salem? I went into Omens but apparently they're the sister store to Hex: Old World Witchery. (old world they say, but have voodoo stuff on their shops, smh. xP)
there's a hunk of quartz there at the bottom that's the clearest, and to the left of it is opalite. the black is supposedly jet and the purple with green specks is grape agate?
both the brown one, and the clear one with orange, were in the bin that said aragonite
the bright green with the swirls is malachite and the green with white is apparently tree agate
some more pictures from different angles. the picture with the black background is from last night right after I'd gotten them because that's my skirt, lol
so according to the labels in the shop I got them from:
opalite: to work on self-love, improve mood, & attract business
jet: for divination & "to invoke the Great Goddess"
aragonite: to draw upon the energies of "the Earth Goddess"
tree agate: to restore energy, relax, & connect deeply with nature
malachite: for love, balance, guarding children, & protection
Idk how I feel about those descriptions but they definitely jumped out at/ called to me, and for similar feelings to what the description said even if the descriptions didn't feel or seem quite completely the most accurate.
it's been three months and I still haven't processed the Bentley playing Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy at Crowley (when I'm not with you, think of you always) as he drove (I miss you) back (just take me back to yours, that will be fine) to Aziraphale (love you) with a really sincere apology in mind (say the word, your wish is my command). barely a few seconds of normal driving in central London, squeezed in a plot point of "oh shit, extreme sanctions" and their meetup. easy to overlook. unless? it's literally top 5 of Their Queen Love Songs. in any context other than the sheer panic Crowley was experiencing I would take this scene to my grave as peak romanticism, because we know Bentley is an extension of Crowley's mind, and it feels like it tries to comfort him in that moment? (everything's all right, just hold on tight) Recognizing the crushing, overwhelming, all-encompassing love that Crowley is feeling, and boiling it down to simply being suave and charming, casual, like he so often pretends to be (I learned my passion in the good old-fashioned school of loverboys).
it's just the stuff of fanfics, but given to you in the typical Neil Gaiman fashion of subverting expectations, while also allowing for, well, gently playing on your heartstrings. I love it, I love that we got that, bless
I'm turning 20 today, so I'm hosting a little sale on my ko-fi store where you can get 20% off on your order!
The sale only lasts for today, so make sure to get your orders in ASAP for the discount, as I won't be able to fullfill any orders until April after this!
btw there will NEVER be a "new superwholock" in the true sense of the word. the way media is consumed these days means you binge a show and think about it for a month tops and then find something else for the next month and so on. obviously there are some fans who talk about it all the time but the intensity of superwholock cannot be recreated without weekly episodes released twice a year, sometimes with overlapping season releases, for years on end. the collective viewing and blogging about it at a scheduled time every week for months on end for YEARS is what created the cult-like atmosphere. you can't artificially recreate that with netflix shows dropping all episodes at once and then radio silence for 1-2 years. i think the world is also too accepting of finding ugly or old men hot now that there will never be the same in/out group feeling when you post about wanting to fuck an old man and being met with confusion and disgust from non-fans. no solidarity in weird taste in guys because everyone loves weird guys now. also those pirates will never queerbait like supernatural did
I've updated my Inprnt Store with new arts! If you would like a print of the yellow Crowley/ turquoise Aziraphale paintings or bamf Aziraphale then this is your lucky day.
Y’all think Aziraphale accidentally miracled his whole street to stay the same? Like the magic shop is still a magic shop decades later. The record store is still there a hundred years later. The pub has been there for decades at least as well. Nina’s shop could be new, but it’s probably always been a cafe of some kind.
Like, the owners may change but the style of shop always stays the same.
