"where did you hear that? did dad tell you? and why did he tell you first?" in a family as big as theirs, there was always going to be someone who knew the details first –– rachel just didn't like when it wasn't her.

Skylar Hamiltons birthday had been hectic already and it was only lunch time. "Let me through!" he shouts. "Dys, I don't think it's wise, man. I know how you--" "No! You don't, so don't even--" he argues with Cal defensively, grabbing his shirt. In turn, Cal's hands fly up peaceably, with a sheepish 'Now, I ain't trying to fight, dude.' which earns him a shove. "Dys, they will be okay." Sym tries to placate him.

"Don't you start, too, Sym." he meets the alien with uncharacteristic sharpness, a surge of agitation rushing through him, heart thrumming against his ribcage anxiously.

Never again. You sounded like you were in agony.

"They need me, they just gave birth to my kids, for Vertumna's sake!" he swears, pushing his way through.

No more kids, even if you wanted them. If the outcome hurts you, never again.

He was worried half to death. "I need to see if they're oh--" he opens the door, trailing off as he sees you.

Your tired, puffy red eyes lift from the triplets, one in each arm and one dozing off on your chest. You smile sweetly at him, and his pattering heart skips a beat. Calling you beautiful would be an understatement. 

Before he knows it, he's by your side, Tammy's giggles and Instance's muttering be damned. He does offer a glance to his twin. Tang simply shrugs her shoulders, nodding to you and the three you held.

The room is then emptied, leaving only him, you, and the amalgamation of your love. He kisses your sweaty temple, gazing in awe at the three wrinkly little wonders. They were smaller than he thought they'd be.

You eventually rest your eyes, smiling serenely, content with the silence. So small and fragile…he was almost afraid to touch them. Almost, but for the most part, uneasy and insecure.

He couldn't get his eyes off of them. One begins to squirm for a brief few moments, and you huff softly, looking up to him then down to the newborns, so much love in your gaze. 

Very hesitantly, he reaches out a finger to the fitful one, the other two sound asleep. The newborn latches onto his finger, turns their head with a soft grunt, and opens their eyes.

Their sweet hues were crossed, and the toothless grin that plasters into their face? It's priceless. He feels a hole in him fill right up, and tears begin to form.

What did he do to deserve such precious things? 

You've given him the greatest gifts he could ever receive, and then some.

-after he officially enters fatherhood, you will notice things change in him.

-it's gradual and these changes start off small, but they are there

-and the first one is he smiles more

-he's smitten with his triplets, always distracting himself with them when you need to sleep.

-he's in over his head at first, but with Sym's guidance from being a nanny for gaggles of kids, he soon learns the ropes

It's only been a few minutes since he's managed to put them to sleep, and he himself was especially tired. He can't help but continue watching the three infants resting on his arm, the heaviness of exhaustion becoming all the more apparent as his eyes burn for sleep. 

Sleep.

It's only been a few months since the trio was born, but he's come to realize many things. 

Each one of them, in their own ways, filled in the cracks that had formed within him throughout his life.

They, alongside you, made him feel more human. 

The moment he saw you on the medical bed holding them, he knew he was enough, just as he was. The colony wasn't a cage, but a nest-a safe place for him you've kept throughout the years, always welcoming him back with open loving arms.

The wall he built, taller and taller; it doesn't crumble into nothing. He's free to come and go, at any point. He simply chooses to stay longer. You needed him. The triplets needed him. 

The four of you always brought new discoveries, and he was eager to explore the family dynamic. 

The oldest grunts just as he's about to doze off, and he flicks on his holopalm to record from habit, onyx hues wide and wakeful, now. A few moments pass, followed by the slow stretch of tiny limbs, and…

'Da…' a soft, but unmistakable word sounds. Pure joy blooms from his heart, his free hand flying to cover his mouth. He stares at the blip that was recording him and the trio, eyes becoming damp. He slides his hand down, and whispers;

"Did you hear that, beautiful? C/N's first word…they're dreamin', baby."

-he is always prepared to document their milestones, no matter how small when he's in the colony

-know how kids usually scream for the parent who was pregnant with them?

-well

-these three scream for Daddy when they throw fits.

-it's like they have a built-in 'Dad's home!' radar, too. and this means most of their tantrums are thrown when it's time for Dys to come home. they're MENACES istg 😭

"NOOOO!!!" the most powerful set of lungs of the trio wails indignantly, Sym's placating voice drowned out into the background, the other two sobbing for their father, huddled up against their triplet.

This builds up for a few days, and they eventually break out of the creche and scamper off to the gates, demanding their dad like the people there can make him come home sooner. Once in a blue moon, he's late, and it takes a lot of work on his part to calm them down.

This usually leads to an exhausted Dysthymia completely conked out with three equally as tired kids cradled by him. And this will happen anywhere in the colony, so you always find yourself guarding their precious nap. They don't get to see each other for months at a time, after all. 🥺

Sweet sweet Benny boy... the most precious boy who needs all the attention and affection you can give him. He thrives on it okay, don't make him beg, because he will crawl on his hands and knees just for an ounce of your attention.

Along with tickets to fly to the ocean because he knows your favorite color is a deep ocean blue, which whatever. Red is far superior but he will let you live under the guise of blue being good. So he can walk on the beach with you, hand in hand while the waves crash against your feet on the shoreline.

lets talk about donald and the boys

so the triplets very obviously and very purposefully take different things from their parental figures, namely Donald, Scrooge and Della. (Webby does as well, but it’s a bit different cus she grew up in a diffrent enviroment/has mrs beakly so i’d rather do a sperate post for her) 

anyway, when it comes to the boys they’re a mix of diffrent aspects of their parental figures + new stuff thats just them. and i think that’s really great how the crew made them such multi dimensional characters like that! 

but, when it comes to donald at least these similarites between him and the boys aren’t quite so explicit like it is when it comes to scrooge and della. which makes sense, theres alot of missed time w/ both of them and they’re learning about eachother and noticing these things for the first time. plus the things donald passed down are the most subtle, i think bc he’s the one who raised them 

so i kinda wanted to call attention to the similarities between don and the boys!! i might do one w/ the similaraties between the triplets and the others asp, we’ll see lol 

so! lets begin.:) 

huey: 

- i think the similarities between him and don are kinda the most obvious, but lets go through them anyway 

- obvi the parental/careing nature 

- and the anger :P 

- that expression in rumble for Ragnarok

- they both wear hats and i think thats cute  

- i feel like theres not too much to say which kinda sucks!! bc i love their relationship!! and like they’re getting a whole ass season for the two of them (like how we had dewey + scrooge and louie + della) im just. idk theres not too much to say that hasn’t been noticed but i love their relationship 

dewey:

- a bit opposite to huey, i think their relationship is kinda the most looked over one 

- which sucks!! pls frank give us don/dewey bonding plsss 

- anyway 

- for one, smthn that i was ECSTATIC to see in ‘rumble for ragnorock’ was dewey’s determination being put to the test. i don’t know how to gif but y’all how have you not done a parallel of that to don in house of the lucky gander??? dewey’s always been super determined (see his determination to adventure in the first few eps, determination to find out about della, etc) and that 100% comes from his dad/uncle!!! 

- i think the main reason ^^ that particular similarity is overlooked is bc dewey and don use their determanation in very diffrent ways. dewey more for adventure, and don more to keep everyone safe. 

(ik that della is also super determined and it could come from that, but i like to think it comes from both of them! don and della are very similar and alot of their influence overlaps. like, the adventuring spirit is smthn usually atributed only as a dewy-della thing (or a della/scrooge w/ the kids thing) but i think that comes a  little from don too!! he used to love adventuring b4 della was lost. sure he was more cautious, but he loved it just as much as they did!!) 

- sorry for the tangent!! next thing! 

- both have an affinity for the color blue and water :). on a related note, the way they were so happy making mermaid tails together gives me life 

- both feel the need to prove themselves!!! this is a huge one!! and idk how noone has called it out sooner?? 

- don has shown alot that he feels insecure with who he is and worries about not being enough for the people around him. see: house of the lucky gander, town where everyone was nice, and just the whole thing w/ his voice 

- dewey is alot the same! super desperate to prove himself and be liked (see: everything,,,, but specifically: Atlantis/first ep, his dream in nightmare on killmonter hill, literally all of the new ep, the seed vault, so much other stuff omg, etc) 

- anyway i really hope these 2 get a bonding ep and get to work through this together. it’s a flaw they both have and i hope they can help eachother with it!! especially bc i think it’s a thing others may not be able to help them w/ bc they need someone who really Gets it u know? 

- pls just let these bois be confident they deserve it 

louie:  

- baby boi 

- ok, first one i feel like may be kinda controversial but lets go anyway 

- i think that their biggest similarity is their shared emotional maturity 

- and yeah ik huey is mature but he’s not mature in the same way that louie and donald are 

- like.... u know at the end of shadow war how don gets the boys to decide to go back? and how louie is just.... so often the one to build up the others in his fam/give them a pep talk? i really think that comes from donald 

- also- they’re both the only ones to actually scheme lol. donald kinda accidentally (he tries not to encorage louie’s sceming even if he kinda does the same thing at times) like w/ how he lies to the caballeros and how he tricks the kids into showing up during shadow war 

- also they share how they’re both more cautious and a bit more scared even if they come along anyway 

- also also just about the only characters besides scrooge who care about money. ik it’s because don is broke and the other two don’t really care but idk... i think the fact that they grew up relitivly poor and don is struggling w/ money in like half of his plots makes the similarity mean a bit more 

- willingness to sacrifice for fam- see harp be gone for louie doing this, and just... everything for don. they both value fam over everything even what’s important to them, which is true for about every character but they don’t seem to get tested as much on it as the two of them 

All three: 

-just wanted to add some random small details that all three have that are similar to don :) 

- first- love of fam/willing to do anything for them. kinda already mentioned it w/ louie, and again it’s smthn shared by most characters but i wanted to mention it again :) 

- their cynicism!! The boys all have their cynical moments and i think it’s cute they’re influenced by don’s more dry humor

- and this last one isn’t really a similarity but I just wanted to point out how in tune they are w/ don and eachother bc it makes me super happy :)

Genderfluid (She/Her/They/Them) but mostly goes by female pronouns, when they feel like they’re without gender Darcy usually ties the cloth around their neck tighter.

Twenty-Four years of age, birthdate being the 3rd March!

Bi — Sexual and Romantic.

Darcy has pale pastel pink hair (because she can) and thick dark brown eyebrows.

Eyes are a dark hazel, Skin tone is tanned with an olive undertone.

They have two specific beauty marks on their face, more prominent than their freckles: one directly underneath the left eye and the other to the right of their bottom lip.

She has a fuck ton many ear piercings, 13 in total!

i’m not quite sure of the MC’s background would be within the actual game but i had a few thoughts for Darcy!

Grew up in a very rich and well off family.

Her father was not a bad man. He was just never there. Darcy knows deep down within her that her father did love her but she’s lost hope of ever seeing him again.

Her mother... is dead.

Has Had seven older siblings and four younger siblings, all sharing the same father but she only shares the same mother with three of her siblings.

Darcy is the full-sibling of the triplets.

Darcy ran away from home at the age of fourteen.

After becoming a primary carer for her youngest siblings at the age of eleven she developed quite the protective personality. She used her natural traits of charm and intelligence to her advantage around the adults people who wanted to exploit her of her siblings.

She misses her family dearly but there was a reason to run away and going back would just put them all at risk.

The cloth around her neck is always there, the fabric being special in many ways but also for it covers the particularly identifiable ‘branding’ in the crook of her neck. The cloth never comes off is she wants to stay alive.

From the age of fourteen she learnt how to survive on the streets and in the shadows, she made a very very good friend within an orphan by the name of Geneva (hello next oc) and they, from then onwards, grew up together to create their own new family — of orphaned children on the streets.

Darcy knows how to wield a pair of cutlasses and she’s also got a great eye.

Knows their way around a boat but, in all honesty, usually still gets all the terminology in a jumbled mess.

To-y2 Album Review

To Yours : I actually found this song a bit disappointing at first, till I heard the chorus, it has such a melancholic melody to it. Then I was hooked. Still sounds like a Tegomass reject I'm sorry.

りあらぶ (Real Love) : This took me back to their Good Ikuze era! Like "Kimi to no Kiseki" and "Motettai Everyday" had a baby.

HANDS UP: I'll assume this was their obligatory "punch-y track" for the album. Kinda bummed that they made it a single first. The third track usually takes me by surprise.

Cannonball: The buildup was really nice... till the chorus happened. This was like Forza and Brand New World. Vocals-wise they were quite impressive! (Gaya, babe, that key was high) , I liked the line distribution. The RAP. YES. IT WAS NICE. I love how they're giving Senga the ad-libs.

Letting Go: OMG I HAVE SUCH MIXED FEELINGS WITH THIS SONG. I LOVE IT AND HATE IT SO MUCH BECAUSE ONCE THE BEAT DROPS IT WAS THE UGLIEST SOUND I'VE EVER HEARD. THEY SOUND LIKE CONSTIPATED DUCKS. I swear if they just changed the sound bite it could've saved everything, because Kitayama's bridge took me to places.

Positive Man: I'm not a fan of the genre, but they did a great job with the reggae, that's a first. They added some character to their singing to suit the playful tone (Gaya pls, I know he's having so much fun with it).

MAHARAJA: I'm gonna blame Gaya. Idk what you were even thinking. This sounded more like Indonesian Dangdut. I'm surprised how your producer managed to find the exact same synths used in Dangdut. I still enjoyed Senga and Kitayama's singing style, that was a treat.

Be Alright: This was fun! It was so nostalgic to listen to. The punk reggae rock really takes me back to those coming of age jdramas in the early 2000s (like Arashi's "Fight Song"). I've always wondered how they'd sound, so thanks for fulfilling that!

My Place: My golden track. This was absolutely gorgeous, such a heartfelt ballad, with strings a steady tempo and sentimental vocals. Also, the cute little game sound bites was such a nice touch. It really reminded me of Animal Crossing??

Edge of Days: It was a solid single. It really gave off that anime vibe considering how it was used for "Million Joe" jdrama. The bell tongs, trumpets, swirly guitar riffs and drum reverbs added such a dramatic urgency to the song.

Make you mine: The build up was amazing, I really thought we were getting some Martin Garrix quality edm... till the chorus happened. Man, it's like there were like two separate songs put into one. Nika's triplet beat rap followed by Tama's 'Clap-a-Holic' autotuned voice and THEN that stank face dance break interlude was *chef kiss*.

Sometime: Wow. Please do more sexy jazzy hotel lounge raps please. Y'all took turns. The chorus was cute, it's like "Saturday Life" had a sexy older (but like with a 7 year age gap) uncle. Idk why I pictured that.

Memento: Hello beautiful Mr.Children-esque ballad. I'm picturing them singing in a warm candle-lit cottage kitchen with a leaking roof. They're filmed together and then also separately with Kitayama on guitar, senga on keys and miyata on drums, nika on bass. (Yes they all could play instruments, so why won't Avex help release a musical band song)

COUNT 7EVEN: Our saving grace with the longest duration (5.01 mins) Another one of Kisumai's finest. We got strings, jazz drummer, trumpets, piano and that amaaazing bass and guitarist. My friends that countdown to the gunshot was godly. I wished this was a single. I want a DRAMATIC PERFORMANCE FOR THIS. BLACK AND WHITE SILHOUETTES GIVE IT TO ME. Don't @ me but it reminded me of Jojo okay.

Smilest: Meh. It was good enough for a cm. That's all.

Bonus Track, Seed: It's alright, kinda wished they didn't have the choir in the first bit. I liked LuLaLuLaLa much more.

Overall it's a decent album, they put great efforts into some of the tracks. But it's a stretch to say that it's surpassed FREE HUGS. I'm curious to know what other fans think of it!
