It's a shame the Kind lacked a concept of caring for individual casualties prior to plot developments within the DNT because the bug-flavored medical horror happening in this particular chapter is REALLY cool and also super funny

#to summarize:#killiks lack a concept of lasting animosity and do not pursue/seek further retribution against a retreating and/or defeated enemy #as of the joiner king they have developed behaviors of caring for wounded due to the influence of a particular force-sensitive joiner #(i'll get into All That uh. When entering any place of business, such as a store or restaurant, if a staff member greets you, then acknowledge them and greet them back.

Although for many jobs it's a required part of their job to greet you, especially retail workers, receptionists, and restaurant workers to name a few, that doesn't make it feel any less dehumanizing to say "Hello!" to another human being only for them to ignore you. Acknowledging staff members and greeting them back is important for acknowledging their humanity, they are, after all, a human being, and not an automated machine.

This is also important when going to check out at a store. If you approach the cash register, and the cashier greets you, you should acknowledge them and greet them back. Cashiers already have to deal with being dehumanized enough. The least you can do is help humanize them by acknowledging them when they greet you and speak to you.

#story time #when I worked retail I had several co-workers #who if someone approached the register and didn't say 'góðan daginn' back #my co-workers would just repeat themselves and refuse to start scanning their stuff until they said góðan daginn back #I did do that myself once or twice #but only to customers who I recognized and had spoken to before (and were speaking to someone else as they were approaching the register)#so I knew it wasn't an issue of being non-verbal or unable to speak that particular day #but otherwise I tried not to make a habit of it #especially with customers I didn't recognize and hadn't heard speaking to anyone else #since you never knew who was non-verbal or was disassociating ect.#I've also been in foreign countries where I was young and scared and afraid to respond to the cashier and give away that I was a foreigner #so anyway I tried to be understanding #but at the same time it did always feel dehumanizing to greet people all day and just get ignored #manners #good manners #courtesy #etiquette #politeness

Friendly reminder that health isn't a moral subject. The idea that being unhealthy is wrong is ableism plain and simple, despite living a very healthy lifestyle I will never be healthy.

I would love it for everyone to thrive. I do encourage everyone to take care of yourselves. But not because it is right or wrong, not because you're bad if you don't.

I could talk for hours about all the different reasons someone might not take care of themself. Disability, being neglected as a child, personal crisis, financial difficulties, sedentary working conditions, time poorness. But even if someone is completely able bodied, neurotypical, finaically well off, and in the upmost position of privilege. Even them. They aren't doing anything wrong by being unhealthy.

Including. This may be hard for some of you to hear. Including if they're fat. Even if they are fat for no reason other than loving high calorie, 'unhealthy' food.

Your health isn't a topic of morality where you are good or bad. It's no one else's business. You aren't bad for being unhealthy.

#Obviously there are more nuances to this conversation.#I think fat people who are at a weight where it is negatively impacting their health are entitled to education about it without judgement.#In the same way there are things you can do to maintain mobility as you age or as disabilities worsen.#But all of this moral weight placed behind being fat... It doesn't help fat people.#This applies to being unhealthy generally but lets be so fr as someone who used to be fat this shit is targeted at them usually #And the only people who are being hurt* here are themselves. It doesn't affect anyone else.#How can you claim to care about others health while doing things that actively harms the people who are by your standards unhealthy?#*Not every fat person is unhealthy or causing harm to themself. Seeing everyone talk about how this was the only universe stone and robotnik fell in love, has made me want to throw my own hat in the ring.

So hear me out here: yes, stone and robotnik were only destined to meet in this one universe. Only given this one chance. But what if, from that one universe, their love was so strong that it rippled out into others?

What if theyre compelled to meet in other universes. What if theyre pushed together; drawn to the other not because the universe wills it, but because theyve entangled eachothers fates together so much that not even the universe can seperate them now.

They were never destined to be, but theyve chosen to be, and by god they arnt going to let the universe hold them back from that now.

Because while the universe never wanted them to have a happy ending, to get that second chance, they did. And maybe that was enough.

(Tldr: they meet in every universe not because theyre meant to, but because theyre love for one another was so strong that the universe simply couldnt hold them back this time.)
