Excerpt from the book I'm working on

"You deserve the world on a platter." A heartbeat, a day, a year, could have passed as the two stared one another down. He took a step toward her. "You deserve a life of adventure," another step, "and excitement," another step, "and a love that would warm you without burning through you until there was nothing left of you but ashes."

He stood before her now, chest to chest, his breath fanning across her face at an even pace. His eyes watched her like a challenge, and she'd be damned if she'd let him win. "Peter wouldn't have given you that," his voice dropped to a low murmur, his features softening slightly.

"And you would have?"

"For years, I watched you set one another on fire just to feel some warmth." His hand came up slowly, hesitantly, as he spoke, his knuckles grazing her cheekbone. Their eyes remained locked on one another. "What I wouldn't have given to burn for you, just once..."

LAST DAY BUT I MANAGED TO FINISH IT BEFORE JUNE ENDED #This artwork file ended up with well over 500 layers #i would check the specifics but im not gonna open that thing and wait for a solid 3 mins for it to load LMAO #there are soo many things i wanna change and do differently but its the last day of pride month so times up!#wait i had to change a thing so i opened the clip file and we were on 546 layers not counting differently named ones #like copied layers. of which there are multiple. “layer 133 copy 2 copy 1”. its bad. im NOT gonna merge layers tho.#either way. i wanted the dress fabric layers to have a bit of a butterfly wing feel but i got a little sidelined #maybe ill make a more direct version next year?

#theresbeen some hiccups like the first month i started to realize my work drive was 90% fear based #so ivehad to develop like actual work schedule and discipline thats not just 'everyone will hate me if i dont'#but its been working! now getting stuff done actually... feels.... good?#instead of like throwing water over one fire only to run to the next one #like before nothing was ever satisfying. i was always just running around panicked #now im like. okay this is what i have to get done today. yay! i finished it! now i go to bed. okay now its the next day #the only other thing ive noticed is ive become seemingly like. more. autistic acting.#like i get More fixated on my special interests now. i can think about something for hours straight instead of getting guilty and thinking #'oh im being greedy im being lazy with my time i should be doing something productive'

The normalest.#Honorable mention for the character rankings: Lan Wangji! for “Most improved in rank”.#Sorry Lan Wangji fans but until the audio drama I honestly was...pretty indifferent towards him.#I think a huge part of that was due to the fact he's constantly paired up with WWX; who has *so* much charisma and steals the scene #But I've really come to like him a lot more since starting this project. He rose from mid-tier to being in the top ten!#Dishonorable mention: Nie Huaisang. Who fell out of number 1 spot and out of the top 5.#He just hasn't shown up a lot! And my rankings are fickle! They will probably change once I finish the third season!#My favourite comics are: A lot of them!
