am i the only person in this fandom who thinks the constant jokes about the kids looking old like
aren't funny???
like, yes, it's a concern for actors to look generally in the age range of the character they're playing. but the way people act in this fandom you'd think the kids were like 39. yes, the actors are young people who are growing up, but they're still young.
it's especially directed at the boys. and like, have any of you people ever been around teenage boys? they're notorious for suddenly growing up over like one summer.
idk it just really rubs me the wrong way people act like the kids are literally greying or in need of a face lift or something. like, yes, the kids look more adult in their recent red carpet appearances and such because they're being /styled/ that way.
in s5 we'll have actors in their early 20s playing 16/17 year olds. i'm sorry but people don't look as insanely different from those ages as you think. a lot of it is styling and context clues. if you stick a 21 year old in teen clothing and put them on a high school campus, i promise you they wouldn't stand out. with makeup and costuming from literally one of the best costuming departments with an enormous budget, they will make sure they look as close to the characters' ages as possible.
they literally begin filming this month. i promise u it's fine, they're not going to turn to dust overnight

I'm cranky again so lemme rant abt another fandom pet peeve of mine
ppl who say they love evil men but only mean like. fictional men who hurt randos or other villains and such. and half the time they're not even that evil they just kill and barely commit much atrocities beyond that if at all. but then the same people turn around and publicly hate on actual evil fictional men, which is fine, but also the people who enjoy these evil men, which is less fine. sorry for liking it when evil men are evil. it will happen again

Another hard question.
Most out of touch and popular head Canon/theory?
(don't fell obligated to answer if you find it too controversial, no issues taken)
HAHA. Like 80% of the popular ones. As a vet of the game (and someone who, at the peak of their fixation, had 90% of the entire lore memorized (that was pre-Sumeru)), a LOT of fan theories/headcanons get popular on the rule of cool alone instead of actual probability
But here's a list of the ones off the top of my head that get on my nerves:
Pierro being related to Kaeya -> Annoys me to a rabid degree, doesn't line up with their timelines, doesn't make sense, overhyped
Dainsleif having raised Kaeya as a child -> Fun concept! Doesn't make sense with my understanding of either of their timelines, Dainsleif would have interacted on-screen with Kaeya earlier if this was the case (considering in 2/3 of the Dainquests we've BEEN IN MONDSTADT FOR PART OF IT)
Diluc/the Ragnvinders are descendants of Vanessa -> the og Ragnvinder could never pull her, sorry but he was kinda a loser, he was obsessed with a different Muraten (who DIED and that's what radicalized him), if he WAS directly descended from AN EXTREMELY PROMINENT HISTORICAL FIGURE LIKE VANESSA IT WOULD BE POINT BLANK MENTIONED, Diluc's bright red hair is a feature his family line has had since the Decaabrian era
Kaeya only pretends to like alcohol as an excuse to see Diluc in the tavern -> 0 reading comprehension here, Kaeya's an alcoholic because he has deep-rooted issues that he struggles to deal with the thoughts of, he's not faking it just to see Diluc, if that was the case Wine wouldn't be his hobby, his interest, one of the first thing he mentions in the serenetea pot, etc.
Kaeya choosing Mondstadt is the objectively "Good" choice and him choosing Khaenri'ah will make him inherently "Evil" -> Stupid
Fuckboy Kaeya -> Most awful mischaracterization of him ever get it AWAY I hate it
Kaeya hiding behind Diluc as a kid and being very jumpy/shy (in the OwOUwU sad boy way, not in the Kaeya Allows Diluc To Take The Lead And Keeps His Distance A Lot Because He Doesn't Want To Make A Mistake way) -> Eugh. Rubs me the wrong way, mischaracterizes him, feels like he's being babied, I hate it
Everyone and their mothers calling Venti's backstory tragic bc he lost his bestie literally 2,600 years ago -> Someone who wasn't trained in battle and didn't have protections in a rebellion against a god?? DIED?? WHO could have seen that one coming. Like sorry you lost your buddy pal Venti but also. IT WAS TWENTY-SIX CENTURIES AGO
Khaenri'ah being a war-bent nation -> Hey guys maybe a nation literally built by people who were persecuted by GODS is going to try and make some defenses against THE GODS. Was it a bad idea for them to make things like Ruin Golems? MAYBE!! Could they also have served more uses than just battle?? YEAH!!!! IT WAS A FUCKIGN UNDERGROUND NATION GUYS MAYBE THE MISSILES AND BULLETS WERE USED FOR??? FUCKING MINES. EXPANDING THE CAVE SYSTEM. I DUNNO GUYS LETS THINK REALLLY HARD FOR A SECOND. "Oh but the fields are tilled by blood" Yeah. Construction work is deadly. Especially who knows how deep underground
Khaenri'ah and the Abyss are the same place -> No
Kaeya's the one who should apologize first -> Literally no

tbh one of my biggest fandom pet peeves has got to be when people judge works by the same literary standards
because then you get annoying arguments like "it's not that deep" or "this interpretation is wrong because of this minor detail"
often, it has a lot to do with the type of creative who made the show and their intention.
with shows like breaking bad, hannibal, walking dead? a significant amount of the work is probably that deep. they're very traditional writers / film makers, one person is responsible for a lot of things and has a lot of creative control. so, they tend to care about things like color and name symbolism, foreshadowing, etc. etc. and if you read interviews with creators like greg nicotero, bryan fuller, or vince gilligan, you get a sense that a lot goes into every detail and there are massive canon bibles. it doesn't always mean it's true of every episode - but it is true of a significant amount of the work.
and it's not just fancy dramas - it's also sitcoms and animated shows/movies like over the garden wall and most disney stuff from the 90s like the lion king. but people are quick to dismiss those genres as "not that deep".
those are just some of the more obvious examples off my head.
then there are works that are somewhere in the between like a lot of modern sitcoms like community, most marvel movies, bluey, rick and morty, bojack horseman, and helluva boss/hazbin hotel where the creators put a lot of time, effort, and depth into certain ideas or parts of a work but are just having a good time with others. often, they can't be as precious with the work because there are a lot of people working on it. so, at the end of the day, their focus is good overall storytelling, good characters, or humor/entertainment.
their characters aren't always meant to be 100% in character. their world-building isn't always going to be 100% consistent - either because they don't have creative control over all of it or it's just not a priority for them. and on the most extreme end (e.g. marvel's civil war), they're going to shove characters into certain roles for the bigger picture theme/idea or do something extreme with them for a laugh (e.g. alastor doesn't sleep/shower- alastor would wear his clothes in the shower).
because at the end of the day, they want to tell a good story or good joke and there's more of a micro vs. macro focus. some people are focused on characters. some people are focused on the world. some people are focused on certain episodes.
but fandom tends to go to one of two extremes and dismiss it all as not-that-deep or try to analysis it by the same standards as something that's written more traditionally
for me? hazbin/helluva boss very much fit into that latter category.
a lot of parts of the show are just not that deep. the creators probably don't care about name or color symbolism. there are a lot of contradictory uses of it in the show. often, the names are picked arbitrarily (lute = lieutenant, sera/em = seraphim) because they had been calling them that so long
viv likes world-building and has assigned colors to each ring and differentiated male/female imps and classes of characters ... but she changes stuff a lot and would rather have a good shot than be nitpicky about color symbolism. she changes things so often, she forgets about's been established as canon. oftentimes, she dosn't want to sacrifice a cool design for something nitpicky.
she's not precious about every aspect of her characters' specific personalities - but you also can't totally dismiss them as not-that-deep because she does care a lot about certain personality traits and the arc the character will take based on it (e.g. blitzo's trust issues).
but in fandom, people use both extremes as a way to shit talk other creators' interpretations or police how they write or draw and it's just so tiring.

I feel like this abt the term "queer icons", why are you calling a cishet person a queer icon? Even if queer people are fans, how does that make them a QUEER icon? It feels misleading.
I hate it even more when it's a person who's never been anything but cishet, and people are still like "but maybe they're still queer!" like them having that hope the person maybe being queer is enough? If they're queer then they're queer, but if they're cishet they're cishet, this isn't some show character who might be revealed to be queer next season this is a human being.
Like I don't wanna exclude closeted people either, but tbh I feel like queer icon is just "anyone popular" regardless of how clear they've made it how cishet they are, who some queer people like. Like even some queer actors and singers never get that much attention as queer people, let alone get called queer icons even though they're actually queer, or LGBT if that's their identifier whatever Idc and openly show it and advocate for queer people.
Yeah I've had to told that queer icon doesn't mean the person who's the queer icon has to be queer, actually it has to be the fans being queer, but that just feels stupid? Yeah the person you're calling a queer icon doesn't have to be queer, what's next is they don't have to be an icon either.
--
Uh... anon... as a middle-aged queer, I am sorry that you don't actually understand what this term means, but you don't.
A queer icon is an icon to the community. This is just the definition.
There's something about the sensibility in their artistic work that reads as queer and/or they've been open about their support, but they're not necessarily queer themselves.
That said, the traditional examples are the kinds of people where 50% of the drag queens at a parade will be dressed up as the same icon. We're talking major cultural significance over a period of time. Madonna, Cher. Major, major, major.
I sometimes see people on social media trotting out some recent celeb who is just not that influential in offline queer communities on an ongoing basis. One wave of tiktok fad does not an icon make.

I always love reading your thoughts and essays on Pride and Prejudice.
I've been reading a lot of P&P fic lately, and one thing I'm struck by is how widespread Darcy being called William or Will is.
What are your thoughts? Why do you think this is so common?
Thank you very much, anon!
You've chanced across one of my oldest and strongest pet peeves, tbh. My uncharitable opinion is that it is so extremely pervasive because fandom—at least Western media fandom—are, well, cowards about long names. People are always having characters use shortened nicknames even when there's zero evidence for them doing so and even when the original names aren't that long. The mere possibility of people not shortening their names seems almost a foreign concept.
I think it's compounded with Darcy because Fitzwilliam Darcy is such a specifically upper-class rich person sort of name. A lot of the fandom simply doesn't like it and can't/won't imagine anyone actually using it in full, though Darcy is probably the last person who would mind such a name or be inclined to abbreviate it to one of the most common names in the English language. Especially, IMO, given that (in-story) it was clearly given to honor his now-dead mother and her aristocratic family.
On a more meta level, I also think Georgiana and Fitzwilliam (esp given the association of the in-story Fitzwilliams with a literal Fitzwilliam earl) for the Darcy siblings aren't just suitably snooty names for their background but in context, pretty blatant references to some very famous figures in Whig politics. The political subtext is completely erased by converting Darcy's name to William, esp in period-set fic, but most people don't care and just want a less "weird" name.

Knowing a partner well can potentially make writing together a lot easier.
Repost it up. No reblogging.
--------
Tumblr media
NAME: Jace
PRONOUNS : He/Him
PREFERENCE OF COMMUNICATION : Tbh DMs and Discord are the best way to go. If I'm ever calling you up in 4k, we've probably know each other for a hella long while at this point in this hobby. lol
NAME OF MUSE(s) : Caelus (Honkai Star Rail)
BEST EXPERIENCE : In particular it was a RP in my manga days of RP with my Oga Tatsumi muse. Me and a bunch of Nintendo related muses (After playing the hilarious spectacle of Shut up and Jam Gaiden, proceeded to do a shounen-esque RP of basketball that went into comical perfection. Rosalina Nintendo did indeed nuke everyone at the end with her Cosmic, universal shattering dunk.
It was GLORIOUS.
RP PET PEEVES / DEALBREAKERS :
:| So uh, there may be a bit to this.
Trauma/Stress Dumping: The #1 that will have me done at the drop of a hat. Since I even began rp'ing it's always been this thing, people seeking other folks/people who offer up solid chill times to just go and vent the entire world and then some onto them. Mind you a lot of these interactions being with strangers likely known for a week at most.
This literally has no changed a lick since middle school. Unless I've known you for a considerable amount of time, this is the easiest way to proceed breaking all contact with me.
Not to have this confused with venting on your own blog/space. I accept and always respect that boundary. Just do not use talking as an opportunity to lean into such subject matter. It's one of the central reasons I'm really careful in joining group chats to begin with. There is a difference in telling me that a day was rough/bullshit, AND letting me know of particular territory to be watchful for in discussion, then just using me as an outlet. Especially in what I take for a hobby.
Socializing =/= Writing time: While I enjoy the social aspect of RP in it's nature. I never want to be in a position where the hangout time I spend with you creates the curve of interaction. That easily exhausts me and takes the fun from things once I'm clued in. Honestly speaking, someone could never talk to me outside sparse words, and we just run around with our muses writing up all sorts of scenarios and it'd work perfectly. This is what I use the website for!
Plotting does not fall under this umbrella. If people need an angle to make their magic work, I'm all for cooperating with you, this again just leans into xyz activities outside the hobby. Stretching yourself too thin in this regard can genuinely screw people over in other long time hang outs too, I've learned that the hard way.
Reference of Son/Daughter talk in mention to the muse in question: While I've first seen it on this website, in the same vein it's made me incredibly goddamn tired as it reels directly into the conversation involving the infantalization of muses. This likely strikes the highs for me into terms of 'Fandom Curses' alongside 'One character quality defines the whole character in question.'. Let's not even get started into fandom habits shaping the perception of a character OUTSIDE of canon content. Having muses that had to deal with the primary talk point here, I've just said to hell with giving many things or people a chance.
It just comes off as a really weird practice to me. It leans off heavily into the realm of character disrespect on top of that, as these idealized fandom notions. (For Example: Kingdom Heart's Aqua being relegated to 'Momqua'.) It gets too 'family' oriented in a sense where these accomplished characters can't really explore the depth of both their struggles, triumphs and lows. So if you seen me avoid that like the plague, that's exactly why.
'Comfort Character' Projection: It aligns a smidgen with the above. But no, have no expectation that I'll ever be a source to live out these particulars with you if I happen to play that very muse. I've again not hesitated to cut off connections at all when people attempt to wire these expectations onto me. My iteration of the muse is exactly what you signed up for by following me, respect that, just as I respect your boundaries.
MUSE PREFERENCES: If we're talking about the TYPE of muse I enjoy? Delinquent muses take the penultimate crown. I love those rowdy but firm hearted types.
PLOTS OR MEMES : Throw both at me. Now days I've gotten particularly more experienced into the plotting department. In the same vein I can't have it entirely streamlined either. I gotta let the muses breathe their breaths and exercise their own voice and actions.
That said? Memes are eternal, just throw those in anyday of the week, even if they're in the old logs of my blog. I never mind that. Just the prompts and scenarios alone can spark forth some vivid ideas/adventures that do lead into plotting. So hell, both sides win.
LONG OR SHORT REPLIES : Either is good. Though, a forewarning that I CAN wind up getting wordy. This never has to be matched as I'm just a sucker for details.
BEST TIME TO WRITE : For me, it's normally times outside the midday. It's usually when I'm available, as you'd come to see me around mornings or nights. (Also it's the best focus time.)
I say normally however, there's also plenty of times I'd just be hanging around on/off periodically.
ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSE(S) : Outside of some brazen qualities. Not really no!
Tagged by: Not a soul! Yoinked it up myself.
Tagging: If you feel like lettin' the world know, then by all means!

are other people seeing romantic stobin way more often than i am? bc without any filtering or trying to avoid it i've seen maybe a dozen fics for them total (i've been in the fandom since s1 + tbh most were written before s3 even came out), and in the last year probably only 1. never once seen art or tumblr posts. yet every ship poll has a disclaimer about it, and some hc posts too, and some posts entirely about how much they hate it and random ass confessions talking about the evils of letting a man near a lesbian. from my pov, there's been WAY more talking about romantic stobin than actual romantic stobin
i know rule 34 and i'm sure there's more fic if i actually tried to hunt it down, but i never want to so it just feels like an invisible enemy i don't want to bother spending mental energy on
people just want something to complain about lmao. romantic stobin, like, barely exists. you really do have to search for it to find it. no one’s out and proud shipping robin with steve on tumblr, they’re all on facebook lmao. like you said, i’ve seen far more people complaining about romantic stobin than i’ve ever seen shipping them. (i do kinda think some people complaining about romantic stobin actually just hate stobin, but need a morally correct reason, so say shit like “people just like platonic stobin because they ship them!!!” (insane take))
ugh, every time i see a romantic ships poll and they’ve put “stobin (this is disgusting!! don’t click)” i just roll my eyes. like wow!! you’re such an activist! i’m so glad you don’t ship a lesbian and a man.
just don’t put them on there.
sorry, that’s a pet peeve of mine lmao.

KNOWING YOUR PARTNER WELL CAN POTENTIALLY MAKE WRITING TOGETHER A LOT EASIER. ( REPOST DO NOT REBLOG ! )
○  NAME:  Cherri ○  PRONOUNS: She/her but tbh I'm cool with anything ○   PREFERENCE OF COMMUNICATION: IMs are open to anyone, discord is available to mutuals ○    NAME OF MUSE(S): Crowley and Aziraphale (canon), Kabaiel and Zi (reverse au)  ○    EXPERIENCE/HOW LONG (MONTHS/YEARS?): Like 20ish years off and on ○    PLATFORMS YOU’VE USED: AIM, Skype, Twitter (that was...an experience), Tumblr, probably others idr at this point. ○   BEST EXPERIENCE: There have been a lot of good ones. I think one of the best was discovering that one of my main writing partners from a previous fandom actually lives like 20 minutes from me and we're irl friends now ○    RP PET PEEVES / DEALBREAKERS: HEAVY formatting and anything that gives me the impression that aesthetic is being prioritised over writing. Icons so heavily edited they look deep fried. That sort of thing. ○    FLUFF, ANGST, OR SMUT:  Yes to all three, depends entirely on what I'm in the mood for. ○    PLOTS OR MEMES: Memes, mostly. I'm not against plotting, but I prefer to keep the plotting fairly light so we still have some freedom. Not a fan of like...whatever the RP equivalent of railroading would be called. ○    LONG OR SHORT REPLIES: Again, it depends on what I'm in the mood for. Or, more accurately, what I've got the spell slots for, y'know what I mean? ○    BEST TIME TO WRITE: For little things, like inbox stuff and short back-and-forths, any time. But for actual threads, I've noticed I tend to be better with those late at night, probably because that's when I can finally wind down and focus. ○    ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSE(S): I do see a lot of myself in Crowley. Less so with Aziraphale, though I am a foodie and a reader. stolen from @rawbutprecious tagging: anyone

Fanfic Writer Questions
Thank you for the tag, @optiwashere!
Tagging @seventhscorpio, @night-dark-woods, @linka-from-captain-planet and whoever wants to consider themselves tagged.
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
15 works at time of recording.
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
14,232 at time of recording. I'm a short story girlie.
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Currently, only BG3. Before this, I used to write for Destiny (and I can be tempted again if The Final Shape is any good/has some good Awoken food) and Overwatch (lol. lmao.) IDK why I gravitate to writing about videogames. I guess that video game writing is more "open-ended" and thus creates more nooks and crannies for me to get my fanfiction claws in?
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Unsurprisingly, they're Overwatch ones, given that it's the largest fandom I've written for. 1. Thaw (Mercy/Pharah, 159 words, Explicit) 2. Theobroma (Mercy/Pharah, 390 words, General Audiences) 3. Liebesträume (Mercy/Pharah, 1824 words, General Audiences) 4. Our Lady of Mercy (Mercy/Moira, 972 words, Explicit) 5. to pretend (Nocturne/DJ!Shadowheart, 225 words, Explicit) Kind of feels like exposing an old shame, to link this here, lol. But hey, stats are very silly -- they say more about the popularity of the pairing than about the quality of the work, in this case.
5. Do you respond to comments?
I try to! I am in the very awkward situation of someone posting comments on my destiny fics a long time after I published and I haven't responded but I think about responding a lot but the more time it passes the more awkward it is...
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Deliverance, arguably? Petra Venj gets Taken. So yeah. (The Savathûn tag is there because the fic was written back when we thought Savathûn had acquired the power to Take)
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Liebesträume is, as per the notes, 100% high fructose fluff syrup.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
At time of recording, I haven't.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I do! The kind that doubles as character exploration. (although I have written pure self indulgent shit that I had to get out of my head somehow, like i rejoice in my sufferings for your sake)
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
I don't, at time of recording. There's a BG3/Destiny crossover that lives in my mind but haven't written anything for it (yet?) It's very self-indulgent.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I know of!
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
No, unless you count brainstorming with friends and me translating that to fic (pretty much how burn our effigies was born, actually!)
14. What's your all time favorite ship?
I... don't think I have an all time OTP or anything? I have, like, a fave for each fandom, that's it. And I'm also a multishipper, so... For BG3, my current obsession is Shadowheart/Nocturne.
15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I've been kicking around a thing about Petra Venj's exile in the City, but I struggle to make it a coherent, cohesive thing, instead of a bunch of Situations. Same for loss.pdf, tbh
16. What are your writing strengths?
I want to believe it's characterization. But I'm obviously biased.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Plotting. Plotting. Plotting.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
It's actually a huge pet peeve of mine lol at least when it comes to real-world languages. It's something that is often used to add some flavor to foreign characters ("No, mon cher, I expect you to die", said the Spy) in a way that doesn't match how multilingual people I know speak other languages! For example, when I'm talking in English I'm talking in English, when I'm talking in Spanish I'm talking in Spanish. I often forget how a word is said in one language but remember it in the other, or some grammar quirks from Spanish make their way into my English. I may be on a call with a friend and speaking in English while we play videogames, and I cuss in English in those cases -- unless we have been silent for a while, I have returned to thinking in Spanish, I'm startled when getting killed suddenly and I cuss in Spanish. Not to say it's 100% unheard of to hear examples like the Spy one above, it kind of makes me think of my Galician friends very intentionally dropping a carallo in a convo in Spanish to play the stereotype, lol
19. First fandom you wrote for?
I'm pretty sure I have some Final Fantasy X-2 and Doctor Who fics in some long-abandoned hard drive at my parents' house...
20. Favorite fic you've written?
have you read deliverance did you like deliverance will you read deliverance when will you read deliverance

NAME?: Mal
PRONOUNS?: They / them
MOST ACTIVE MUSE(S)?: Stolas, Husk, Lucifer, Echo
RP PET PEEVES?: People trying to control what other people do on their own blogs. Setting your own boundaries is fine, but expecting literally everyone to constantly cater to you while you don't also curate your own space rubs me a bit the wrong way. (This is not in regards to, like, accessibility, but "I don't like smut, so therefore no one around me should write it at all, even if it's properly tagged and can be blocked.")
EXPERIENCE / HOW MANY YEARS?: Oh my god, um. 11 years on tumblr, but I actually started with pen and paper before I fully even know what roleplay WAS.....so, my GOD, probably, like....21 years ago? That's insane, wow.
EXPERIENCE?: Pen and paper, proboards, jcink, invisionfree, livejournal, tumblr (obviously). I was a mod on a lot of different forums before I came over here.
FLUFF, ANGST, OR SMUT?: Yes! All of the above! I love all of them for different reasons, to be quite honest; they all allow me to explore so many different facets of characters, especially in this fandom, tbh. I used to be super embarrassed about writing smut (there was a whole THING about that that's its whole own post really), but I'm a lot more chill now. Though I am still an awkward demi bean. ^^
PLOTS OR MEMES?: Memes are great for getting things started! I'm definitely down for plotting too, especially throwing ideas back and forth and world-building together, but I definitely get wanting to just jump write in and start exploring right away.
LONG OR SHORT REPLIES?: Oh man, I am a chronic long-replier. I tend to get stuck in internal monologue and end up just going OFF, especially if I'm particularly feral at that moment in time. I try to write short things, but they usually become long, and for that I apologize.
TIME TO WRITE?: Usually in the evenings, after work. Though on weekends I become a night owl and end up staying up until ungodly hours because I get motivated instead of sleeping.
ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSE(S)?: HA, I was just talking to Missa about this, about how I, an awkward person on the ace spectrum, am playing several characters with robust, kinky sex lives, and I'm just like "my god, I hope I'm writing this well because I do not know what I'm doing." I definitely feel like there are aspects of each of my muses that I connect with: for Stolas, we share a lot of similar-ish family trauma, there's the depression, the anxiety, the longing to be loved; Husk -- being prickly to keep people from getting close because if people get to close then you care too much and can get hurt; Charlie -- the desire to believe that people are good and can change for the better (along with rampant untreated ADHD); Lucifer -- depression and a jaded outlook on life, plus a boatload of religious trauma / daddy issues......you get the picture.

*mcconaughey voice* alrightalright... Grievances Ask Game #s 3, 16, 25?
3. What's your biggest tumblr pet peeve(s)?
When folks posit as SteveTony fans and GUSH over x but y is just. There. Barely, even. Not my thing, honestly. When it comes to the fandom stuff I reblog, I'm here to see SteveTony content sure but also to get to know PEOPLE so I LOVE seeing behind the curtain into their lives, interests and headcanons. But when it's just a hyperfixation on one character over the other, I'm like Cool, good for you! But I'm not going to follow you. Just not what I'm here for. TBH: I don't use Tumblr religiously enough to have a pet peeve so maybe that's not the right answer....less of a pet peeve and more just a what-I'm-gonna-click-very-quickly-out-of.
16. Name a canonical aspect of SteveTony’s relationship that you think is problematic/not mentioned enough
Uh. MCU has the predictable hang-ups about Ultron and Civil War with Tony and Steve getting their respective character beatings. I feel like the comics have a lot more content to mine as far as problematic behaviour to explore. Maybe--as far as not mentioned enough--just HOW much of a fumble the team was. Tony leaving at the end of A:AOU, Bruce/Hulk fucking off, Nat kissing Bruce and manipulating him, Thor and Steve both being too aggro--all of this shit is so Bad when you think about it. Maybe one day I'll write a fic where they're all Like This and SteveTony are also fucking but uh. What the fuck was going on there, eh? Uhh I guess an extension of that would be Steve being written in fic as someone who pulls his punches but being the total opposite in the films up until IW. The man doesn't account for the serum much? And maybe we should explore that, even though I'll admit that I prefer writing the alternative. & I wish, on Tony's end, that his "mastermind" tendencies/pulling strings BTS were explored without flinching from his control tendencies. We could probably get some very good stories out of Hyper-Aggro!Steve x Control-Issues!Tony. We probably already have, TBF. Drop 'em in the notes, folks!
25. Share an unpopular opinion you have RE: fanfiction (writing, culture, etiquette, etc.)
Being insistent on updates is never cute! Honestly. There is the occasional "oh that's sweet that they really like the fic" but a lot of the times when I see comments--mostly on other fics, I'm not talking about mine here--that boil down to "update plz", even if it's worded kinder, I'm just like.... Shut the Fuck Up. After writing a truly horrendous amount of fic last year, I've gone full circle with the process and realised that the attention you get from readers is never going to be more fulfilling than the actual writing, so if you're constantly pushing to get stuff out to appeal to/satisfy readers, you're going to get very quickly uncharmed with the whole fic writing gig. True enjoyment is what makes it sustainable, and a huge part of that is writing on your own terms and by your own timeframe. I'm less bugged about it when I see it in my comments because I'm not out here reinventing the wheel but some very, very good writers in the fandom get a lot of that shit and every time I see it, I will indulge in an emphatic, "ah fuck you, hoss". Is that an unpopular opinion?
Ask game here.

I don’t know if that drama is one of your pet peeves as I wasn’t following your blog when it was airing but what was your thought on 2gether ? Do you think it’s JittiRain best drama? do you like the pairings and characters? Do you consider that it deserved it success?
I find 2gether to be... meh? I don't have a strong opinion on it, honestly.
I don't think it was brilliant but it's definitely not the worst Jittirain out there.
Actually, it's typically second on my list, right after Theory of Love.
Did they succeed with the characters? Eh? Kind of?
I never thought the main couple actually worked together. Tine seemed constantly to be on edge whenever Wat touched him and I just kind of wanted to tell him it was okay to not want to be touched...
I loved both side couples, though.
Green was just... horrific in terms of characterization but this was an older show and there's a bit more... room for that in my judgement.
I did not watch 2gether while it aired, though, I got into the fandom after it had finished and ended up binge watching it as one of the last shows I binged, actually, before I went to 99% watching shows live. And it was a struggle.
So... I don't think it's her best drama but it's in the two half? This was one where the lying did work because it was very minor and it didn't play a big role in the foundation of their relationship.
"I've seen you before and developed a massive crush and didn't know how to tell you" is nothing like "I refused to tell you my name for two years in an alternate universe where we had nothing but our names" or "I refuse to respect any aspect of your personality and will constantly undermine every promise I make to you and every request you make of me". Much lower stakes and much more palatable.
Deserves it's success is such an odd way to put something. I don't really think that way and I don't know how to? I don't think anything Jittirain wrote deserves the level of success it has, tbh. But I think the same for most of MAME so... you know? My taste is not most people's taste (lol as if this wasn't obvious.)
2gether is not a pet peeve of mine, it's just another drama that I watched and one that I never got attached to, tbh.
My favorite Jittirain couples have all been side couples. TwoUn, DueanMean, ManType, AouFuse (we were robbed)... The main couples, which almost always include some form of lying or manipulation, never seem to appeal to me.

Hey, just wondering if you've read the ML season 5 show bible... I haven't and I've heard people talk about how it's going to be super bad and it makes me anxious... Do you think we should be worried if you have read it?
I haven't read it and I never will and I wouldn't trust the people who say that tbh.
For one thing, I think reading a rough outline of what's gonna happen without the full context is of course gonna lead to misconceptions and misunderstandings, and something that works when you see it but doesn't work in writing might be the same way. When we actually see it play out on screen it may be much more rewarding.
Another thing is salters are gonna find salt wherever they see it. And if it's not there, they will see it anyway. I've said it before and I'll say it again: if you going into something looking for reasons to hate it, you're gonna find it.
Finally, I think my biggest pet peeve is that people read it in the first place, and it instantly made me more upset with them. It was meant to be read by us and people read it anyway. Some of my dear friends and mutuals did and although I still love and cherish them, that's a decision that I completely disagree with. It takes the fun out of it, and ruins the experience. The Bible leak is honestly the main reason I fell out of this fandom for so many months, and tbh its one of my biggest disappoints for us as fans. I know a lot of folks were like "I'm gonna get spoiled anyways" but I didn't read it and avoided spoilers and I'm still here ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Ultimately what I have to say is this: love what you love, hate what you hate, and don't let anyone else tell you how you should feel.
Reminder that anyone who puts leaks or spoilers in the tags/reblogs of my posrs or in my inbox is instantly blocked. That includes vague details.
