Such a shame Patty doesn't get so much space. He was hilarious in the manga;

I did honestly like Arlong introduction here instead of the fight against Krieg. I find Krieg to be one of the least interesting villians in the manga, so it was ok for me to see him just defeated by Mihawk in the prev episode. The choice to have Arlong as the main villian of the season was great;

Buggy's return was very much appreciated! Especially the last scene with the circus music.

I'm obsessed with Nami in the realm of female character writing, because on the surface her arc is to be saved by a guy/group of guys, and generally with female characters that's used to take away their agency or power and/or support a romance. But with Nami...it does none of that. Her story is about learning to depend on others, but rather than reducing her power in any way, it increases it. The isolation she experienced before wasn't independence, but part of her oppression, so having a family to support her gives her infinitely more freedom.

Luffy is her captain, but the way Luffy does that is never to lord over people, it's to raise them up with him. And, importantly, he waits for it to be her choice. He stays supportively in reach until she asks for his help. The only time he intervenes without permission is to stop her from actively harming herself. And when he does intervene, it's not to whisk her away and keep her somewhere else safe where she's dependent on his security and protection, it's to literally beat the crap out of her oppressor so he's never a problem again and she's free to live her life either way. And although Sanji acts romantically toward her and the rescue follows his grand ideals of fighting for a beautiful lady, there's no expectation that she now owes him anything or has to give him a chance just because he helped her out of an abusive situation. He did it because he cared, not in exchange for anything. They were all willing to fight and bleed for her with next to nothing in return, and that's so vital.

Nami being a woman is definitely relevant to her story (using her beauty and pretend helplessness to steal without suspicion, the fact that she takes after her mom who was tough as nails in the male-dominated marines, the very real isolation and fear of being female surrounded by [fish]men with power over her), but it's important to note that she doesn't need saving because she's a woman, or due to any weakness on her part. She is shown as incredibly strong, brave, and clever, right from the beginning, but she was trapped in a situation with Arlong that would've been impossible for anyone to get out of alone. Now with a crew by her side, she no longer has to.

Poor Fisherman is scared at first and angry with himself for having caught feelings for a human.

I know Tiger at heart hates people. But it's different with you, you look at everyone with love and care. And OMG you touched it with such gentleness

And you always asked how you were supposed to touch him. God you were better than most people I've ever met.

He would take you for an angel, even for God.

That's how you won the heart of this fisherman.

You fell in love with all of it. And he in you, all the love around you gave others diabetes.

As for his behavior towards you. At first, he's a very distant and cold type who hangs around you.

But he doesn't really know how to start a conversation with you, so he's a pillar standing nearby.

As a pirate mate, he has a high reputation, but what he likes most is that you don't pay attention to it.

How did you find out about his affection. So in a simple version, he got drunk like Tiger got drunk and walked into your room. He lay in bed with you and confessed his love. (Okay it was different: that's how it was)

"What are you doing here?"

"Want to sleep with the love of my heart?"

After that, she passed out cuddled up to you.

Then it felt weird waking up next to you, but he didn't want to leave you just yet. You had such a nice and warm body, God didn't want to let you go.

From then on, you were unofficially a couple. (You thought so, but the solar crew already knew, and they had a lot of bets on your relationship. Ehem. There's still the one with Deflowering you. They're wondering when that will be.)

Your relationship doesn't look like a relationship to many new eyes. You just don't show your feelings to the new ones.

But when you're alone, ohhhh~~ Diabetes kills more than once. Your relationship is forbidden but as good as warm cookies.

How could he have developed these feelings? or as he put it extinguish them?

He just kidnapped you and took you on his ship. That's how it started.

The rest went quickly, you followed him like a shadow and did not let him rest. It's his fault you're here with him.

He himself knew he had done wrong the more often you were around him. The more his feelings intensified.

And he was angry about it, ohh. He was pissed off, aggressive at all the little obstacles etc. no one could feel safe. (Except you)

Only you could rebuke him and set him upright. (You became the mum of the crew because of it.)

How did it happen that you are together? Oh boy. It's a difficult story for you.

It all started with a little argument about humans and fishermen. And it went on for a fortnight. A lot of emotions then spanned through his crew and the ship. But in the end Arlong forced by his officers went to apologise to you.

You sat on a stork's nest away from the fishermen, and Arlong himself. Single tears streamed from your eyes. I paid no attention to my surroundings until a pair of strong and slippery arms hugged you from behind.

"Hatchi go away please."

"You have mistaken me darling for someone."

Our fisherman gave you no time for anything else and kissed you. A quick kiss full of love.

The crew was later surprised and pleased that their captain had someone to LOVE. (And he can de-stress on her. He he he. We know what they mean).

The relationship seems rough and one-sided on his part. Our grey-haired and hateful Arlong remains what he was. But he's different for you.

He'll beat someone up and then turn to you with his heart eyes and compliment your beauty that day.

When it comes to bed stuff. You have a demon in bed who is always horny for you. (Dousing yourself with something? Boner. Bending over? Boner. Whatever you're doing? Boner.)

But then he takes care of you like a queen. Only for shadows is he soft and cuddly.

Replacement au.

Being a god is something that can just be put on you. Nika got tired of existing and made a six year old Luffy his replacement.

Luffy became 'happier' and sometimes his eyes would glow red but he didn't really start to change until after Sabo nearly died.

Luffy could somewhat sense him bit he didn't know that it was Sabo.

A year later Ace walks up to see a transparent glowing crown floating above Luffy and he goes back to sleep thinking it was a dream.

Another time when Luffy's life was in danger a sword just, came out of his arm impaling and killing the guy infront of him.

Ace just goes with it and Luffy feels oddly okay about it.

Arlong Park is the next time Luffy changes. His left arm started glowing white and grew claws. He ripped at Arlong's heart and went on with life, his arm went back to normal after Arlong fully died.

His crew actually bothered to ask questions but Luffy just shrugged.

When fighting rob Lucci he got Horns, the world government then learned about the new God.

When he met and killed Saint Charlos he didn't change much psychically but he seemed less human.

His crew was used to it by now.

During Impel Down Luffy got wings and tore Blackbeard's eyes out. Well, that and his intestines but he tore the eyes out first.

Marco takes one look at Luffy and the phoenix starts screaming at him to get the fuck away from it.

At whole cake, he just fights big mom and nearly kills her.

When he fights Kaido he goes full-fledged God and cracked Kaido's skull open.
