💬 Do you read holiday-themed books? . I always like to read a few Christmas romance books in December. One on my list for this month is One Day in December by @josiesilverauthor. (Thank you to @randomhouse for gifting me this copy!) I’ve had this one on my TBR for quite some time, so I’m excited to read it this month. This was also the @reesesbookclub pick for December 2018! 😑 vorrei buttarlo fuori dalla finestra ma ho l'ebook 👉🏻 #onedayindecember Laurie ha finalmente finito di lavorare. Mentre è sull'autobus diretta a casa, guarda fuori dal finestrino e nota un ragazzo seduto a una fermata del bus. È il 21 Dicembre 2018 e lei si è innamorata perdutamente di questo ragazzo sconosciuto con cui non ha scambiato nemmeno mezza parola. Ma non solo! Cosa fa lei? Dato che non ha avuto il coraggio di scendere dal bus e andargli a parlare, lei e la sua amica lo vanno a cercare per la città (parlo di Londra non di un paesino con mille anime). Ovviamente non lo trova e a malincuore lascia perdere. Poco dopo la sua resa, la sua migliore amica Sarah la informa che si è innamorata perdutamente e indovinate chi è il fortunato ragazzo? Ma dai, proprio quello della fermata del bus! Laurie allora fa finta di niente, convive con il suo cuore spezzato e per anni lei e lui sbagliano i tempi e ... va beh tanto si sa come va a finire. 👎🏻 Lei che si innamora perdutamente di uno di cui ha visto solo il viso? Su cosa si basa questo amore? Sul bel faccino di lui? Ed è proprio per quel faccino che lei, per un anno, lo cerca in modo ossessivo? 👎🏻 La banalità di questo libro non ha fine. In pratica è la versione mediocre e triste di #scrivimiancora è quasi uguale! Entrambi i libri raccontano le storie anno per anno, in entrambi i libri i protagonisti non sono mai liberi allo stesso momento, prima era fidanzato lui poi lei e via andare. Entrambi i volumi parlano di un amore complicato, di persone che per un motivo o un altro non riescono a stare insieme. Praticamente la stessa storia con vicende diverse. "Scrivimi ancora" però mi era piaciuto molto di più.  👎🏻 La narrazione riflette la storia: povera, elementare, ricca di dialoghi noiosi che potevano benissimo essere tagliati. 👍🏻 L'unica cosa che si salva è il finale. I listened to the audiobook and first of all, let me just say the narration is fantastic. Also, I don’t recommend listening to this one while driving. Road rage is real and this one will make you want to drive people off the road. Also, it’s hard to drive with tears blurring your vision. But don’t get the wrong idea. This book is healing too, and opens your eyes to your friendships and your dreams, and the fact that not everything is as easy as it might seem. The only Prime shopping I did involved print books...and I limited myself to two books. The first arrived today and I want to set everything aside and just read this again. One Day in December is one of my favorite books. The romance is slow-burn friends to lovers. But the book is SO much more. It's about missed chances...and friendship...and I could go on and on for days. How much do I love this book? There are very few books that I deliberately purchase in every format.
